Device replacement pending from two weeks

Dear Sir/Ma'am,
In a huge disappointment i am writing this email to you. I bought iPhone 6, 64 GB Gold as a birthday gift to myself. Since day one it has given me network problem. I thought this could be a SIM card issue. I went to the Airtel store in Delhi and bought a factory cut nano SIM. Ever since then also the problem remained the same. No network, phone unreachable despite of having full network. I realized this even more on the iPhone because I use the Samsung phone on Airtel simultaneously. I was not facing the same on Samsung phone.. I called Apple Care to report the issue and i was told that by resorting phone through iTunes should work, after doing that also problem remained the same. Eventually I went to the service center in Preet Vihar, Delhi for a solution, sadly they did not do anything in the name of analysis and handed over device after the software update after 24 hrs. While standing the service center when i check my phone i found again my phone was on but there was no network, also the camera stopped working. I had a huge argument with the team there, and then they said that they will going to keep under observation for another 24 hrs. later in the day they called me and said that your phone has hardware issue and it will be replaced. it was submitted on 2nd April 2015 and when today i.e 6th April when i called them, i was told that replacement phone is under process and yet not delivered. i asked that they should have some tracking number of the same but they refused. Now i am so helpless and i have no where to go to get my phone back. I am writing this mail to you to seek some help in this regard. Kindly please help me coz this has been stressing me mentally and as well emotionally.
Neither Service center nor Apple care is giving me the correct answers, please help in getting my phone back. I am without phone for more than two weeks.

You are not addressing Apple here. This is a user to user support forum. You will need to work with the service center that has your device for answers to your questions.
No one here could help you get your device back.

    If you apps are still in iTunes, you should be able to sync them back to your computer.  Otherwise, if you have iOS 5 (5.01) on your phone you could redownload them by launching Apps, press the Purchased button at the bottom, press Purchased at the top, then Not On This Phone.  This will list your apps and allow you to redownload them.  If you've purchased apps using multiple Apple IDs, you will have to sign in to each of these IDs to be able to download all your apps (by going to Settings>Store>tap on the Apple ID, sign out, sign back in using another ID).

    the scenario is the following:
    WIFI connection with TISCALI operator. Encryption made by WPA2 EAS with router SITECOM or tested also with another router DIGICOM with WPA TPK.
    From December up to end of March the IPAD2 working perfectly serfing and downloading.
    By two weeks it has a very strange behavour without have changed any configuration on IPAD or network: 
    with WIFI turned on it discover about 4 different ntw among them the mine, I successfully authenticate with psw the my ntw,
    the IPAD2 start to run with Safari without problems, but after about 1 minutes, it stop to serf or download and answer that the Server cannot be reached or the page cannot be open, at the same time the signal is present on the icon of WIFI and it is strong.
    This problem is systematic: If I dissasociate the ntw and then authenticate again I start to serf again for 1 minutes (more or less) and then it stops again, this occurs every time I authenticate the ntw after a disassociation.
    I made some test changing the encryption from WPA2, WPA and also without encryption but the result was always the same, after about one minute the server seems to be for the IPAD2 no more reachable while the others PC and netbook connected to the same router continue to serf/download without problems!
    I also tried to change the router with a DIGCOM that I did not use generally, but the behavour is always the same.
    Since the IOS was the 4.3 revisin, I made the upgrade by means Itunes to IOS 5.1 succesfully installed.
    But unfortunatelly all test repeted have had the same negative result with the same behavour!
    Yesterday I tried to do the complete restore of the System but the tests had the same rsult. 
    I really don't know how to proceed, the problem started suddenly without any action from my side....is there someone that can help me?

    Additional things to try.
    Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

    I'm using Mac Mail on 10.6.8 - snow leopard. I use this program for my work emails and mail will automatically delete messages in my Inbox that are two weeks old. The email account is IMAP. I have looked in the "Account Preferences/ Advanced" and can not find a setting to correct this. What am I missing?

    Are you sure it's Mail that's doing this? It could be on the other end (the server end).
    Mac Mail has a preference for "Remove copy from server after retrieving a message", but there's no choice for 2 weeks, so I doubt that's it.

    In the Setup Assistant, proceed to “Set up your device,” tap Restore from a Backup, then sign in to iCloud.

  • Internal hd down, replaced with external, two weeks later I rebooted and internal is back up!!

    I don't know if this has happened to anyone else, but after using a late 2006 20" iMac for the last 5 1/2 yrs. it decided to give me a folder with a question mark in the middle of the screen when I tried rebooting a few weeks ago. After reading multiple forums and tech support advice, I learned that my hard drive bit the dust. That's what the question mark meant, it was nowhere to be found. I decided to get a new 3.5" SATA hd. (A friend of mine just happened to have one unopened!! What luck!!) Instead of going through the hassle of tearing my mac apart, I just bought me an enclosure shell and plugged it in. I did a recovery off of my Time Machine backup and now I'm back in business. Here is the strange thing... I shut down my mac and went to church. When I got home I started it up and my internal drive happen to start working again. The only thing I could figure is that maybe it got too hot or something. Now I have two hd's, internal and externa, (plus my Time Machine backup)l. This seems to be presenting a problem with Time Machine. Does anyone have any advice as to what I could do as far as the internal drive is concerned? I hate to use it as my main drive and have it crash on me again. And can Time Machine backup two hard drives at the same time? I've been wondering about using RAID but am not that familiar with it. What's the difference between concatenated RAID and striped RAID? Any advice would be appreciated.
    Oh, BTW, I am using Lion as my operating system. I know they said it wouldn't work on anything before 2007, but it has been working since July of 2011.

    Had to use my wifes PC to post this, yuk, as it connects via the Netgear DG834G wireless router with no issues, its pushing out WEP, PC seems to handle WEP easier, I have had this issue before, but unlike the last time, I do not have the option of changing the router to WPA, i am stuck with WEP for two weeks,
    I have tried the $ and 0X tricks, they dont work, suerly there is a fix for this?
    Can someone save me from two weeks of PC use, have a heart

    Go into your network preferences and click on your Wi-Fi connection then click the turn off Wi-Fi button wait a few seconds then turn it back on, then click the advance button at the bottom of the window, when the window opens click on the TCP/IP tab, check to make sure you have a valid IP address if you don't then click the renew DHCP lease button.  If you are still are having problems would it be possible to restart the router.

    Sorry, unless you specifically backed up the places.sqlite file in your Profile folder, that data is gone and all but impossible to recover without using a data recovery program.

    Since two weeks, I can't buy from my home store in Thailand anymore because I cannot read the language.
    Before, I could access any item I wanted and I bought devices and articles worth many thousands of US-Dollars over the years.
    The problem is that due to my profession, I've been living in many different countries within tha past 20 years, currently I am staying in China.
    My home is in Thailand but as native German, I can speak Thai reasonably but I can hardly read.
    Until two weeks ago whenever I logged into my account, everything came up in English and I could buy whatever I wanted.
    Now, as soon as I log in, everything comes up in Thai and the articles on the Thai market are very limited - so I'm snookered.
    When I change the store to German or American, I can look what I want but it won't let me buy and reverts to the Thai store again.
    I cannot create and sign in with another Apple-ID because I do not have any methods of payment, an alien CC nor in Germany neither in the States, so I'm snookered again.
    I tried getting support and spend days and nights now without making any progress in finding a solution.
    Momentarily, I'm so very much p...... off, that I would like to take ALL of my Apple stuff and get rid of it.
    It's not the first time that I'm extremely disappointed with Apple.
    As I mentionend, I lived in many countries over the years with quite a number of different Apple-IDs.
    Ever tried to retrieve your password or ID???? Have Fun...... ridiculous!
    I almost made my mind up and throwing the whole Apple-shebang and settle for something else instead.
    I would have got rid of everything already but it's too much money lost that I spent on my Apple stuff already.

    The option to send reset info only appears if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account. If you don't have one (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support or Apple to get the questions reset : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4551

Also, if I rent the movie through iTunes, why (because of the above issue) when I go to 'Purchased' it doesn't display as an option when actually using Apple TV, it doesn't display but when I go to rent it again a message comes up saying "you have already rented this movie, do you want to rent it again"? Frustrated!!

    Ok Fellas, let me give you a clue:  Games, particularly those that make heavy use of graphics and sound are notoriously power hungry.  In fact, when I was in the Navy many years ago, the folks working on the NTDS (Navy Tactical Data System)  computers used a version of Space Invaders to load test the AN/UYK-43 computers.
    I have also noticed that all of my laptops (I have a brand new Toshiba dual core, an older Toshiba single core, plus 2 Dell dual core machines) have significantly shorter battery life when I play Company of Heroes than when I am just reading e-mail or surfing the 'Net.  I have also noticed the same behavior when I play games on my 4th gen Touch and my iPhone 4.
    The fact is, iOS 5 did make some major improvements as well as adding some nice functionality like iMessage, wireless synch, and such, but the down side is that depending on how you use the device battery life can be shorter that what you may have experienced with pervious versions of iOS.  Its just the nature of the beast...

    Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
    It sounds like the Mail app on your iPad mini is showing that you have over 500 unread email messages, but your inbox is actually empty.
    There are several steps I'd use to troubleshoot this situation.
    First, restart your iPad to see if it clears up the symtom:
    Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
    Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
    After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
    If this doesn't correct the behavior, try removing and re-adding the affected email accounts next:
    Get help with Mail on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
    Delete the affected email account from your device.
    Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Tap the affected email account.
    Tap Delete Account.
    Add your account again.
    If the same thing happens after re-adding the account, you may need to use the steps below to reinstall iOS. You may want to back up your iPad to iTunes before completing this step.
    Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
    Put your device in recovery mode.
    When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.

    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

  • Extraordin​arily poor customer service & two weeks to replace a settop box???

    Can Verizon explain the huge decrease in your customer service over the past several months? After being a Verizon customer for nearly 20 years, we are in the process of looking for an alternate service provider after spending a week with your customer service representatives trying to obtain a replacement settop box Model 6200.
    After six hours of phone calls and a week of waiting, we now have a stack of three boxes sitting outside. The original that no longer powers up, the wrong unit that is obviously refurbished with huge scratches and grime all over it, and a new 7100.
    The best thing Verizon seems to be able to do now is send a technician in another week with a 6200 on the truck. Obviously, our confidence in this is not very high.
    During the process of calling in to Verizon every day this week, I have had the horrible experience of talking to your automated attendant who specifies that she/it has updates on my FIOS installation. When I follow the prompts to obtain more information, I hold for several minutes. Twice this week, your computers were down, so the reps simply hung up and said to call back.
    Several of your customer service representatives were extremely nice and helpful but the bottomline is that after a week, I still don't have the correct piece of equipment. I also have your automated system telling me that I have two appointments in two weeks to send out technicians to install FIOS on one day and PHONE on another day. No one at Verizon can respond when I ask them what this is about.
    Management seems to be non-existant or non-caring, and I'm not sure which is worse. Verizon representatives made the following statements that make it appear that Verizon has taken purposeful steps to make escalations of service problems by a customer impossible.
    1. Supervisors cannot be reached by customers. They will call you back within 24-48 hours.
    2. There is no headquarters phone number is not made available to customers because no one at Verizon executive offices will speak to a customer. This is a direct quote.
    3. The headquarters telephone number listed by Verizon in any public forum is a voicemail box. (REALLY?????)
    4. The legal/compliance number provided on your website forwards to customer service representatives who tell customers that they will look up the number on the same website that customers can. Which then transfers to the same customer service rep.
     Verizon has made it apparent that customer that are treated poorly by the company are not taken seriously and that you will simply ask for "one more chance" to make it right in another three to five days and take the customers time for granted.
    Amazingly, I can get through to pay a bill or order a new service in five minutes!

    That's one of the very reasons why I don't call 1-800-VERIZON unless I really have to because I too have been there with the runaround where it wastes so much time and nobody seems to know what they're doing but I've had other experiences with that call line which worked out better.  Either way, I blame management.  It's very disorganized and sometimes it's like asking for the impossible when you're making a very basic and reasonable request for something.  My only other alternative available in my area is Comcast which wouldn't be very much different from what I have seen. 
    I haven't done this myself but as someone else here suggested, you might accomplish a lot more by exchanging your STB at a Verizon Fios TV store but please be sure to call first before venturing out.  I know other people here have gotten this sort of problem resolved a lot quicker that way.

    It doesn't matter what it is in your backup that's causing the problem because you can not selectively restore things from your backup. It's all or nothing.
    Set you phone up as a new device and start over.
