Device software compatibility with server software

We are currently in a beta mode syncing BlackBerry devices with an Exchange server using BlackBerry Manager 4.1.  One of our users wants to upgrage his device software from v4.3 to v4.5.  We are trying to determine if that will create any compatibility issues with the server software.
Solved!

hello,
I don't think so, but should tjhat happen, you can downgrade back to 4.3.
I think you will find more detailed answers if you post your question on the "Blackberry Enterprise Solution" board.

  • Need Help with Server Software

I will be upgrading an old iMac G5 to Leopard, but I would like to know if I can upgrade that to the server software later on in the future if I decide to do so. I would like to use the server software for our office, but I've never used it....
    thanks

Yes; future Mac OS X Server versions may not work on your computer, but version 10.5 will.

  • Compatibility with Adobe software

I've been using Photoshop and Canon EOS cameras for years.  Moved over to iMac about 5 years ago.  So I'm reasonably conversant with the first two areas but by no means am I the world's expert on using Macs - I use it mainly for Photoshop and internet.
My question is more about how backward compatible these combinations are.  I realise this is an Apple forum but it's hard to know who to approach on my problem and I'm going round in circles at present.
I have an iMac desktop running 10.6.8. with 2.8 Ghz processor and 4GB Ram - I know it's not the very latest but it does what I want it to and after all it's only just over 3 years old.  I run Photoshop CS6 on it (i.e. not the cloud version).  I also use a Macbook Air when going on photography trips, more as a hard drive for storage of RAW files.  This runs on 10.7.5. and I have Photoshop CS5 on there (the difference is only because I haven't bothered to load the upgrade to CS6 yet).  My cameras are EOS 1D Mk4 and newly acquired 7D Mk2.  I like to shoot everything in RAW.
My EOS 1D works fine and I can open RAW images on both computers using Adobe Camera Raw.  The 7D Mk 2 is the problem.  Maybe Adobe hasn't issued the Adobe Camera Raw update yet but other forums seem to indicate it has (I believe it's 8.7.1) and clicking on the update tab in CS6 I'm told there are none to be downloaded.
A workaround is to use a DNG convertor but when I load the latest update for that (again 8.7.1) on to my iMac running 10.6.8. it says I need to have an operating system that's 10.7 or later.  So my first question is - Does Apple not make these back compatible beyond a certain number of OS's - surely 10.6.8 isn't that ancient?  I'm reluctant to upgrade to later versions like Mavericks or Yosemite simply because of all the bits of hardware (2 photo printers) and software.  Also I've seen some scary stories on how Photoshop has been affected by these but maybe those issues have been resolved by now.
Tried to load the latest DNG update on to my Macbook Air which is 10.7 but that won't work either.  The issue there might be because I haven't upgraded Photoshop CS5 to CS6 yet but I can do that.  My second question is - before I upgrade the Photoshop software will the DNG convertor work and will Adobe Camera Raw work and open my EOS camera images using a 10.7 OS?

The Canon EOS 7D Mark II requires an  upgrade to  Yosemite for support.  Support was added with the Digital Camera RAW Compatibility 6.01  updater last November.
So if you want native support of that camera you'll need to upgrade to Yosemite if your Macs will support Yosemite. The following is from this Apple doucment: How to install OS X Yosemite on your Mac - Apple Support
Before you install Yosemite, make sure you have one of these Macs:
    iMac (Mid-2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
    Xserve (Early 2009)

  • Software compatibility with VISTA

I have tried following the directions online by installing the 4.2.1 desktop software. After I connect, I am still receiving an error box that is titled Intellisync and it says Internal Error. I have tried to uninstall and install multiple versions of the software and I can't get it to work. Is anyone else having this problem.

Unfortunately, the Touchpad doesn't even appear in the device manager. It's just not recognised at all. There's not even an unknown device in there or any devices with errors.
I've tried going to the Toshiba European driver page and have downloaded and installed both drivers. Still no joy. It remains persistantly invisible in the device manager. The Synaptics driver even says during install that it cannot work if the touchpad itself isn't recognised by the OS.
The laptop has been re-booted and the BIOS re-checked for the touchpad being enabled so much it must be getting a persecution complex :-P

  • Mavericks compatibility with older software

    I'm wondering if
    - MS Office 2008:Mac
    - Adobe CS5 12.0.5
    - Mac Keynote, Numbers, Pages '09
    - Final Cut Pro 5.1.4
and various other apps running on Snow Leopard 10.6.8 will run with Mavericks?
    (excuse the pun)
If I need to buy all new software, I may be stuck w/ 10.6.8 - or deep in debt.
    Thanks!

In all likelihood many will not.   Here is a link to a detailed exploration of what will and what won't work.

  • I just installed a new Hard drive in my MAC I can not use my Adobe product now. Says its not compatable with my software. But it was working fine before my hard drive crash

I can not uninstall the software either, I already tried that. When I click on the "add or remove" software, it automaticly thinks I'm trying to install it and says I cant install??

Thanks again kglad. I have walked through several of these and no results. When I launch InDesign in gives me the "Licensing has stopped working" But that is the only program. The rest tell me I may need to uninstall and reinstall the programs. They wont even try to start up. I believe the problem started when I tried to use the CC Cleaner tool. I believe it deleted something. It now gives me an error message:
The alias “Add or Remove Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium” can’t be opened because the original item can’t be found.
When I try to open the Add or remove Adobe Creative Suite. So now at this point it seems I cant even "Uninstall" my software? Is that right? Sorry I'm pretty dumb with the whole computer thing really
    Thanks again

  • Adobe software - compatibility with intel Macs

I've just bought a new iMac and hoped to be able to run my elderly Adobe software (InDesign 2 & Photoshop 7). I have enabled Rosetta but when trying to install both programs (from the original discs) it made reference to Classic (which I thought was only used to run programs that were native to OS 9). Needless to say, Photoshop did install but crashes every time I launch while InDesign fails to install at all. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there any way around it? Or do I have to buy new Adobe software. PS: I have successfully installed and are using, Microsoft Office from 2003.

I am coming from the PC land, I puchased a IMAC QUAD 7 with lots 8 gigs of memory. I tried to install photoshop essentials I think 6 for the Mac it came with a new touchpad. It would not work it crashed immediatly. I installed Photoshop c4 extended, trial version for the Mac it works just fine its problem unlike extended for PC is not 64 bit It only sees 4 of the 8 gigs of memory. It works justfine. It can not open as many pictures at same time but I can only work n one at a time. I am also running Windows 7 64 bit with fusin ware 3. Windows works quiet well. You may be able to run your older photoshop( I believe they came with both Windows and Apple versions) Inside of your apple, fusion and say windows xp are less than photoshop. Just a thought.

  • Virus software compatibility with FCP

Are there any issues regarding running an anti virus software whilst running FCP, I have heard differing views, most subscribing that you end up with lots of problems. Currently I'm the only person using a Mac in an office environment where everyone is using a PC. IT won't allow me access to internet/email etc., unless an anti virus software is installed. Any answers ???
    thx

You need to talk to your IT people explain how the Mac OS X software operates.
Where capturing and video editing is concerned, I always recommend to turn off and uninstall all background utilities whose purpose is to scan files.
    That includes virus software
I'm more conservative on this than Michael, but the problem lies in IT people that lack information.
    Ask them to get educated.

You are worrying about this way too much, simply connect the iMac using the supplied USB cable that comes with the UPS. Then check the Energy Saver settings in System Preferences and you will see the UPS and be able to control it.

  • Softwares compatibility with Mac 0S

I have .lwp and .123 files from an old IBM Thinkpad and now i am on Mac OS X, so i can not read them.
Do you have a solution ?
    Thank you

.123 is probably from Lotus 123.    If you can get a copy of Maclinkplus (no longer made), it may convert those to Excel or iWork's Sheets.    You'll probably need also to install it on Lion, if your MacBook Pro is older than October 24, 2013, or Snow Leopard Server using this tip:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6841
Seeing as http://www.roaringapps.com/ says that Maclinkplus 16 is incompatible with Mountain Lion and up.

  • Older Software Compatibility with Yosemite

Will I have any problems working with older apps in Yosemite (i.e. VueScan, Quicken 2007, Microsoft Office 2008)? Is there a listing anywhere on this site or at Apple for compatibility issues?

  • Software compatable with InteliMac

I would like to start a thread where people can post all the software they KNOW to work and not work on the intel imacs.
    Software that does work:
    Photoshop 7 and photoshop CS
    Adobe reader 5 and 7
    Appleworks
    Band in a box
    Bit torrent
    Comic life
    Chess
    Final cut express
    Firefox
    Fire
    Garageband
    Google earth
    Gmail notifier
    Internet Explorer
    iPOD viewer
    Office X
    MSN
    OnyX
    Phobia Bundle
    Quicktime
    Sherlock
    Sibelius 3
    Skype
    Stuffit 10
    The Sims 2
    VLC
    Mac Sword
    Limewire
    Software that does NOT work:
    Virtual PC
    Cubas SX
    Unreal Tournament
    PS2 Emulator
PS. I'm not sure about Aperture. I can't get it to work but it might be my fault. It does launch but checks computer specification and decideds that my computer does not meet minimum specification. Obviously being a new intel imac it does meet the specified system preferences, but does not run none the less.
It would be great if we could keep this file as up to date as possible as we are at the for front of new technology.

Will do - the download and mounting the disk image both require passwords and although the email specifies that it is 'automatically generated' there is some lag time (one poster on another thread said his authorization took days - mine but hours).
The other poster has not, alas, been able to get his configuration up and running. I will post my results here - the low cost of the software is somewhat offset by the waiting time and the hoops one must jump through just to access the software... and, if it doesn't work at all, it's a $25 gamble that didn't pay off.
But I will make a note and follow up both here and on the other thread.
