Device time moves back 1 hour every time I sync with Desktop Manager

Every time that I sync my device using Desktop Manager the time of day on the device moves back one hour. Both my PC and my BB device are set to Central US time, so I can think of no reason why this occurs.
Ideas?

If you can't resolve the DST on your computer you can also change the sync settings to not update your clock.

  • Backs up every time

I have the original iphone and even after all the new updates my phone still takes at least 30 min simetimes an hour to sync, backs up every time! anyone know what the problem might be???

The iPhone syncs your music, videos, and applications to your iTunes library. There's no need to backup since all the data is in the iTunes library. Other data, such as mail settings, SMS messages, Bluetooth devices, visual voicemail, personalized settings are backed up.

Then i try and plug it into my pc with iTunes on (i've set it to do not automatically sync devices) but it still freezes every time. the only way to unfreeze it is by detatching the ipod or resetting with menu/centre (until it loads up again, where it immediately unfreezes and comes up with a load of messages saying "cannot read iPod" and when i try and restore it by pressing menu/centre button while it's plugged in, it says "cannot restore as it is being used by another program" or "error 1415". Any ideas how to sort this out? hope i haven't majorly screwed it up. thanks.

Hi vickkjayy11 and welcome to Apple Support Communities,
Just to be clear, we are a peer to peer support community and have nothing official to do with Apple.
So to your problem, when you say:
"I reset my macbook pro a few days ago"
What exactly happened? Did you have a Time Machine backup?
    Read this:
OS X: About OS X Recovery - Apple Support
It would help to know the exact model (size and year) and which OS you're using.

  • IPhone backing up every time I sync!

Does anyone know why my iPhone is backing up every time I sync with iTunes? It wouldn't be that big of a deal, if it didn't take 25 minutes! I think I should've just waited until 2.1 was released!!!

It's supposed to back up every time you sync. The problem is that with the 1st gen iPhone (and iTunes 7.6,) the back up took all of 1-2 seconds, and you really couldn't even notice it happened. Now, it's taking minutes.
However, Apple has acknowledged the problem, and it's a problem with iTunes 7.7, not the iPhone, so let's all pray they take care of this fast!

  • Lion 10.7.2 On both mac book pro and iMac, both with Lion 10.7.2, obtain repeated iCal event notifications from calendar or address book.  Cannot turn these off.  They repeat several times per session and every time computer is used.  How to diagnose this

Lion 10.7.2 On both mac book pro and iMac, both with Lion 10.7.2, obtain repeated iCal event notifications from calendar or address book.  Cannot turn these off.  They repeat several times per session and every time computer is used.  How to diagnose this?

First, uninstall "SuperTV" (whatever that is) according to the developer's instructions. It isn't working and it's filling the log with noise.
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
    Launch the Console application.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes) in the search box. Note the timestamps of those log messages, which refer to the times when the system was booted. Now clear the search box and scroll back in the log to the last boot time when you had the problem. Post the messages logged before the boot, while the system was unresponsive or was failing to shut down. Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the end of the log extract.
Post the log text, please, not a screenshot. If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message. When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
PLEASE DO NOT INDISCRIMINATELY DUMP THOUSANDS OF LINES FROM THE LOG INTO A MESSAGE. If you do that, I will not respond.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.
    Step 2
Still in Console, look under System Diagnostic Reports for crash or panic logs, and post the most recent one, if any. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

  • Time machine back up on time capsule never stop

time machine back up on time capsule never stop.

You need to do a bit of troubleshooting.. and it isn't an easy one to solve.
TM could be stuck on a corrupted file..
It could be slow due to network issues.. wireless is terrible.. use ethernet if at all possible.
    Is there an error message??
    Look at Pondini.. http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html
You need to load the widget A1.
Verify both the source and backup sparsebundle. A5
Look at some of the reasons he gives for over long backups.
    Look at section D.
I would also need to have more info. Did this just start when you upgraded the TC firmware that was recently released.. if so expect issues.
Are you running Mountain Lion.. expect issues??
To help further we need more info.

  • Time Capsule backs up every hours and takes 1/2 to back up, it slows down all funtions on computer to a crawl.

I have the time capsule with the ethernet cord running from it, this is the way my husband set it up. In the last month, when time machine backs up it takes forever and then repeats itself every hour. I can't get anything done because it slows everything down, or I am unable to open applications. I read in discussions what to do and have not had any luck. I checked my speeds: download 10.58pbps and upload 4.85 mpbs. My husband pays for preminum cable for fast service. I don't know how to fix this issue, or perhaps I don't know how to ask the right question. Can anyone help?

    This is a hard one..
With Time Machine turned off, what speed do you get using a speed test service to the internet?
Remove the TC and connect directly to the cable modem and check the speed.. if the TC is slow as a router, then there is some issue.
I see you are on SL.. did you update the firmware on the TC to 7.6.x recently..
There does seem to be some bugs in the latest firmware for some people. I would downgrade the firmware back to 7.5.2. I would also check if the TC isn't almost full. That hugely slows things down.
Do a full factory reset and redo the setup.
Otherwise I think it can be worth getting a different wireless router, and simply bridge the TC to use for backup only.. I think that is what I would do in your situation.

  • What's with the constant "backing up" every time I synch?

Every time I synch my iPad I get the "backing up" that takes from as little as 20 minutes to as long as 3 hours. I am serious - EVERY TIME I hook it up, it "backs up" - and then, after all that, tells me it can't save the backup on my computer.
I can't find an option to turn this off. Any advice? Thanks.

    HI,
Under the Summary tab in iTunes with your iPad connected to your computer, make sure there is enough storage space.
Make sure there is enough free space on your PC. Instructions here.
    http://www.askdavetaylor.com/checkfree_space_on_windowsxp.html
And try Disk Cleanup. Start / Programs / Accessories / System Files / Disk Cleanup
After you run Disk Cleanup, restart your computer and your iPad. Try backing up again.

  • How do I stop my iPod touch from backing up every time I connect

    Hello all,
Every time I connect my ipod to my mac book it does a back up, which can take quite some time if I haven't connected it for a while. It has only been doing this since I upgraded to 2.0. Is it necessary? can I back it up manually? How do I stop it?
    Thanx,
    JBN

During the backup process, you should be able to click on the little X at the top of iTunes, where it shows the backup process progression. This will stop the backup. From there, your sync will continue.
However, without a good/recent backup, if you had to restore your iPod, you would lose all of the settings/notes/etc that had been changed or created since your last full backup. You will want to let the backup complete every so often to make sure that you have a good one on hand that you can use if you need it.

  • Time Machine Backup  fails every time "Backup could not be completed"

I want to do a new Time Machine Backup on my iMac2007 Snow Leopard 10.6.8 fails every time with message  "Backup could not be completed."
Console says "Error 11" Some Files allways can not be copied/saved by Time Machine,  i search an exclude them in TM not to save them, try again, new ones po up every time.
    Does anyone know a solution?

    One thing which may help.
I had similar issues....a few times.
Have done all the renaming (<8 characters) etc etc as detailed in these forums.
The first time, I erased TC HD and started again. This fixed things for a few days, and then the same issue came back again.
The next time, I simply copied the sparsebundle file (so I had two sparsebundles, one called xxxxxxxx.sparsebundle, and the other called xxxxxxxx copy.sparsebundle (luckily I had room on the HD to do this)). Then I deleted the original sparsebundle, and before I could rename the copy back to the original filename, the image mounted and started backing up....to the sparsebundle with " copy" still in its name.......so I left it be.
A week or so went by, and then I got the same "unable to mount" error message.
Rather than going thru the whole process again, I simply took the " copy" out of the sparesbundle filename, and all was well again.
I continue to get "unable to mount" error messages occasionally, so I simply rename the sparsebundle file (either by adding or removing " copy"), and it seems to resolve the problem, at least for a while.
While not a fix, it seems to be a workaround for me until Apple works out what the issue is, and fixes it.
    Hope this helps someone.
P.S. One word of caution. I just had the thought, while writing this, that I have not actually gone into Time Machine to check that previous backups (eg, one hour ago, one week ago, original backup) are there and are able to be accessed, should the need arise. Because the back-ups appeared to be working, I assumed, and assume, they were. Won't be able to check this for a few days as I am on the road.

  • HT1212 my daughter has a brand new ipod touch - never used - she entered a passcode then immediately forgot it and now she has tried to enter one too many times and ipod is locked for 1 hour - she has never synced with itunes HELP

my daughter has a brand new ipod touch - latest one - she started to input a passcode then didn't finish the process then turned off ipod. she turned it back on and it is asking for a passcode - she doesn't remember what she typed. Ipod is now disabled for one hour. Can we override the disable. How do we reset passcode when we don't klnow the original. It has never been synced to Itunes. I am completely lost.

    iOS- Understanding passcodes
If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or ff you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup. If you do not have a
backup to restore, then restore as New.

    Hi Rdanny,
Do you mean both Organizer and Participants' meeting back on original time and date?
Does the Organizer give others delegation permission?
Does this issue always occur or just once?
How about changing time in OWA? If you didn't try it, please try to change the meeting time in OWA for testing.
If in OWA, this issue disappeared, it seems an issue on the Outlook client side.
I suggest run Outlook under safe mode to avoid some AVs and add-ins.
I suggest try to re-create the Organizer's profile to refresh the caches.
Also try to check whether there is any related error message in the App Log.
    Thanks
