Had to re-install operating system. Reloaded Itunes but IPOD will not sync. Ran the diagnostic tests
Connect Device test recognised ipod
Device Sync test could not find ipod
any ideas?

Not sure if your iPod appears in iTunes, but I would follow the steps in this article to troubleshoot.

HT1495 I have a iPod, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s. My desktop PC contains my iTunes account with music from my CDs. Recently I used my laptop and bought music on my iTunes account. Now my devices will not sync to the desktop (they timeout). What is the problem

I own an iPod, iPhone 4 and iPhone4s. My iTunes account with my music library (copied from CD's) is stored on my Windows desktop computer. Recently, I used my Windows laptop computer to access my iTunes account and purchase some music which was downloaded to the laptop computer. I then synced the iPod and the iPhone 4 to the laptop and was able to add the purchased music to these two devices.
Yesterday I bought the iPhone 4s. I want to copy all the music library found in my iTunes account stored on the desktop computer to the new iPhone 4s. When I tried to sync the iPhone 4s to my desktop iTunes account the device "times out". How do I get my music library that is on the desktop copied to the new iPhone 4s?
Any advice would be appreciated.

What happens when you try to sync?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

Do you have any Restrictions (Settings>General>Restrictions) set that would prevent syncing those songs?

HT3819 iOS devices will not sync Photo stream

I have 1,000+ photos in photostream on my iphone 5s; of those only 629 appear in photostream on my ipad4 and only 50 show in our newly acquired Appletv. All iOS devices are connected to the same home wifi. What's going on? Is there anyway to force all three devices to sync all the photos? Sometimes I've read it may take a day or two, but in this case it has been over 2 weeks. Much appreciated!

Apple TV is accessing the most up to date stream, which only has photos from the past 30 days.

I got a new (factory refurbished) 32gb 4th gen Touch to replace my 1st gen. iTunes finds it but will not sync to it. I've tried to reset (restore) the device as well as the PC its connecting to with no different results. Even did a Windows system restore to before the iTunes update (but it did not revert to older version of iTunes) and the outcome was still that the device will not sync. Both have the newest versions of software. The Apply button stays grey once changes are made (revert is enabled) and the sync option is grey in the summary screen and in the file drop down menu. I've ran the sync and connection diagnostic a half dozen times and every time it says the device is connected and able to sync. I've enabled all device helpers with iTunes and disabled both my firewall and my antivirus but still nothing works.

Yes that is what I meant. I restored or reset to factory setting/new iPod. It was already that way from the factory refurbish but I did try it. In fact I tried doing it both from the device itself and via iTunes, multiple times. No luck. Any other suggestions would be most welcome though, as I certainly may have overlooked something simple and or obvious to those more knowledgeable such are yourself.
Further info: I had a problem sync'ing my 1st gen about 2 weeks ago but it resolved when I disabled my antivirus and firewalls. Not sure if that really had any impact on the whole process but it was doing something very simular to this only then it was that it wouldn't detect the device. So I rebooted my PC and disabled my virus protection and firewalls and then plugged in the device and iTunes found it and sync'ed to it. Tried all that this time and no luck. I wanted to make sure all my apps and songs were on my PC so that when I got my new 4th gen I could get them all over to that (easily I had hoped). After that sync finally worked I updated to newest version of iTunes. Now with the new 4th gen it detects it fine but no sync.
Very frustrated and any help will be much appreciated!

hmmmm. you've got rather a lot of burning software entries in there. (it looks like you've got some kind of Roxio product installed, as well as itunes and Alcohol 120%.)
by way of experiment, try the technique described in the following document (remember to take a backup of your device filter registry keys first).

I had the same thing happen to me. It's a bug in iPhoto 9.4.2.
The first time you run iPhoto after upgrading to iPhoto 9.4.2, it "updates the iPhoto library". This sometimes tickles a bug where iTunes can see all your iPhoto albums, but iTunes thinks they are empty. Since iTunes thinks all your albums are empty, it dutifully deletes any photos from your synced iOS devices.
It's easy to tell if this is the problem you are seeing. Open iTunes and go to the photos sync panel for one of your iOS devices. If you have multiple albums checked, but iTunes shows a total of 0 photos, then you have the problem.
I spent an hour with an Apple Genius. he couldn't find any mention of this problem in their internal support system. His recomendation was to reinstall the operating the system. I suspect that this won't solve it.
The only solution I have found is to restore iPhoto 9.4.1 and the corresponding iPhoto library from your backups.
I would refrain from upgrading to iPhoto 9.4.2 until Apple has a fix for this issue.

Photos will not sync across devices in iOS 8.1

I have iOS 8.1.1 on both my iPad and my iPhone 5. After installing the new iOS and selecting 'iCloud Photo Library (Beta)' on both devices, the 'my photo stream' folder has disappeared and photos will not sync across devices. Everything was fine prior to installing the new iOS. Can anyone help me to fix this? Thank you!

If you are using iCloud Photo Library Beta there are some differences from what you may be use to. Please read over the attached article for information on how your pictures are now organized and for how you can turn it off if you choose to do so.

Never mind, I think. I think I figured it out. There was 1 song (out of > 900!) that somehow had been purchased with the other ID - I have no idea how. Once I deleted that song, it stopped asking.
There may be something with the newest iTunes version too. I didn't think in older versions that the "On this iPod" list of songs was greyed out. But at least it syncs ok.

IPhone 5 not showing up as a device on my Mac, and also will not sync

When I plug my iPhone 5 into my Macbook Pro, the device begins charging. ITunes and iPhoto both load up instantly as well, and my iPhone appears within iTunes. However, I would like to view the files of my iPhone directly like I have in the past, but the phone will not show up anywhere else as a device. The device will not show up anywhere on Finder, nor on the desktop. I have my settings to where devices should show up on my desktop or Finder, but the iPhone is nowhere to be found.
In addition, when I try to sync my phone within iTunes, it begins syncing and gets all the way to step 5/5, but then it just goes on indefinitely and never actually finishes syncing.
The main problem I would like to fix is to be able to locate my device on my computer but I would also very much appreciate information on how to fix the syncing problem.
I am running the iOS 7 on my iPhone and I have the latest software for the Mac's operating system as well. I have not yet tried uninstalling iTunes and I would like to avoid doing so unless that is the only option left.

You cannot view files on iPhone using the Mac.
Everything goes through Mac iTunes.
The main problem I would like to fix is to be able to locate my device on my computer but I would also very much appreciate information on how to fix the syncing problem.
Just click Sync button again in Mac iTunes with your iPhone connected and selected.

Syncs pictures and apps. I actually found one album that will sync. Others ... nada. Can't see any difference between those files and the others.

Strangely enough, songs will sync to iPod, but not complain.

I have had exactly the same problem before, I have followed the guide as suggested to the letter and still no joy, each time (3 times now) that I have reinstalled the latest version of iTunes it is recognised and syncs with my iphone but with the next reboot of my computer it is gone again.
