All my device steel in learning mode.
Also I have this error on the page DFM - Device Management - Device Import - Auto Allocation
Error in getting instance of TreeGenerator class

Junk mail and spam - learning mode?

Have been receiving unsolicited stock picks and viagara offers and move them to junk email folder that I created. Someone mentioned on a forum that a .mail account has a learning mode to help filter spam. I can't locate it. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Firstly, I would suggest we use Exchange 2013 FE as the Outlook Anywhere proxy server.
For the certificate issue, it mostly occurs because the host name that Outlook are trying to access does not match the certificate SAN. Please check with this point. If they do not match, you

CSA 6.0 (Audit or Learn Modes turn off Clam AV)

Hi All:
I was told that when a host is in Audit or Learn Mode, ClamAV is turned off as well. I was also told that I could not have a 3rd-party AV product installed on the same host as CSA (Cisco would not support it). This seems to make Audit/Learn Mode useless, as I need virus protection - yet I need to tune the host. Are there any workarounds that I can use just so I can tune hosts using Audit/Learn Mode and sleep @ night knowing a virus won't kill the host? Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

That's very interesting since I have CSA 6 and Trend Micro Officescan 8 running on the same machine.
It also has this rule module applied:
Security - 3rd Party AV Event Detection [W, V6.0 r220] Module to forward 3rd Party Anti-Virus Events to MC.
I would say based these observations that 3rd party AV is supported (for now).
You could still use policy or rule module audit mode for testiing and leave the AV in protect mode.

Possibly. It depends on what country the phone is from. In some countries, phones are required to make a shutter noise even in silent mode.

Working of csa in learn mode

hi all i am new to csa . i am having a doubt abt the learn mode.
as per the documentation in learn mode when the rules in the policies having the action as query the user. in learn mode rather than querying the user it allows the action as query response.
my doubt is what abt the rules in which the deny action is set . will this rule be implemented when it is learn mode.
like in test mode even though the actions of the rules are set to deny it will still permit the action and log the event.
is this the same behaviour in learn mode.
or the learn mode only pertains to the rules with query the user as their
actions.
can someone pls clear this doubt.

mate i am really new to csa. from ur answer i could drive to this consulsion though not sure whether i am right.,
like in test mode even though the action to a rule is to deny but it will still be allowed but a log event will be generated .
similarly in learn mode all the actions will be queried to the user rather then taking the actions specified in the rule.
i mean say i have selected learn mode in the group.
for the learn mode do i have to change the query variables . by default i guess the default action is to deny for all the rule modules.
so i guess if we leave it to default the query will be generated right. and the actions specified in the query request will be prompted to the user.
my main doubt is if rule which specifies the action as deny . but i have selected the learn mode for the group.
so now will the deny action will be taken as per the rule or since it is in learn mode it will query the user .
can u pls help me out.

About learn mode

I´m working with Logic 8 and trying to configure my control surface Evolution UC-33 to control transport and basic mixing in Logic.
Ok, transport buttons work ok using key assignment and I got to configure each fader to control the 8 first channels.
In the Control Assignment window in Logic (cmnd + k) I create different modes inside a zone in order to assign my nine uc-33 faders to different sets of tracks in logic. But each time I want to switch from one tracks-set to other I have to pick the mouse, to open the control assignment window and to select the corresponding mode.
Is it possible to assign an instruction to a button in my UC-33 in order to switch from one mode (one track-set) to another??
If not: is there any other possibility to make this?

Hi. Hope this helps.
1. Press command k to open the controller assignment window.
2. Click the zone you've created for your uc-33
3. Within this zone, select "no-mode"
4. Press "Learn Mode" at the bottom right
5. Press the button on your uc-33 that you want to switch modes with.
6. On the far left of the controller assignment window there is a list of thing called the "controller assignment parameter". On the drop down menu for "class" select "mode change"
7. At the bottom of the page, there is a drop down list called "mode". Select the item which suits your needs. I use rotate so that the button on my controller cycles through all of my modes.
Note: some people set this action to a fader or knob instead of a button.

CSA MC: learn mode vs. application behavior investigation

Hi net pros,
We use CSA to protect a few call manager clusters. On the old call manager clusters we had the standalone CSAgents running.
With an update to a new call manager version we will setup CSA MC 5.2.
In the lab we use the predefined policies for CCM, CRS etc. and it is working as expected.
With the managed CSA version the goal is of course to protect other server/applications as well - for these applications course no predefined policies exist.
So at the moment I am trying to get an idea how to get to these policies?!
As I understand with learn mode no policies are generated - only all queries will be answered with "yes". But then I don't really know what my server is doing?!
With application behavior investigation you are able to investigate the server which seems very time consuming - and - as far as I understand - you need an extra license if you want to get policies out of that investigation.
I created a few small policies for VNC, McAfee ePO Agent etc. but no "big" policies for complex applications.
Maybe someone here with experience in creating CSA policies can give me some hints - best practice etc.
Should I use learn mode? Buy the rule module creation license?
Any help very appreciated.

Learn mode events are sent to the MC until the user chooses "allow and don't ask me again".
I agree that learn mode is not for production. It is to allow user machines to 'learn' for a period of time so administrators don't get a bazillion calls and the user doesn't get overwhelmed.
We deploy now in test mode just for this reason and then move hosts to protect mode when we are confident they can function.
I'll enjoy using learn mode so I don't have to make a million little exceptions....
The best way (IMHO) is to run the server(s) in test mode till you figure out how to allow what's needed and lock out the rest.
Servers should be way easier than laptops or desktops.
I depends a lot on what groups you have them in too.

Disk won't mount - Unknown USB Device (Link in Compliance Mode)

I have an HP Envy DV7 (dv7-7243cl ) with Windows 8 Pro x64. My Western Digital 2 terabyte My Book USB3.0 external drive periodically won't mount ( sometimes it will, sometimes it won't). The drive has its own power source.
When this happens Windows device manager shows - Unknown USB Device (Link in Compliance Mode). This can happen if the system is up and running and I plug the drive into the USB port or on system startup where the drive is already plugged in.
Any clue how to fix this?

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.40GHz
12 Gig memory
Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000
System board 181C 52.24
Bios F.26

Well, the problem is that - as outlined in one of the articles I linked to - some USB devices will not work in Safe Mode; that may have to do with the fact the Safe Mode is only meant to be a troubleshooting tool, not a regular way of booting up. Did you have the USB devices attached while upgrading to 10.6? That would also be a problem - I unplug everything except keyboard and mouse.And, did you repair permissions after the upgrade? If not, do it now.
And, the other problem is the fact that you wait 1 - 2 years before addressing the issue; when you had it in for the last repair and it still exhibited the same problems afterwards, you should would have taken it back, possibly with some screenshots, exact notes of how/when/error messages, etc. and insisted on having it fixed or replaced.
So, I'd run the Apple Hardware Test (after you make sure that you have a complete backup) - instructions here:

Sounds like your iPhone was hacked to unlock and now updating locks back to the original carrier.
Where did you get the iPhone?

LMS 4.2 - DFM devices stuck in "Learning" state

Hi,
Does anybody know why this same kind of bug/error/software fault exist in LMS 4.2 as it was in LMS 3.2 ? Why after a while after discovery of devices (state is "Known") DFM drops the state of devices to "Learning" and it stucks forever. Restarting of daemon manager helps for a short time. It looks like the processing of faults stops a while after discovery is complete.
LMS 4.2 is running on Solaris 10, connected to other LMS in DCR Slave configuration.

The connection between the ciscoworks GUI and the DFM repository is not 'optimal', or something like that. It's complicated.
What could cause the behavior you mention however, is either someone rediscovering devices that are still in learning state, or the presence of multiple active rediscovery schedules.
You may even delete all schedules excepts the default redisovery schedule which you can/should suspend. If the problem then stays away you know what caused it.
At this stage any device that really changes must be rediscoverd in DFM manually.
I think Admin -> Fault takes you to a page showing the schedule, if not lookup 'fault rediscovery schedule' in the help.

Can't attach USB devices in Windows XP Mode

I am still trying to set up my new Probook G1 450. It is presently in the original Win 7 Pro 64-bit OS.
I am trying to use Windows XP Mode. I can set up XP Mode, but I can't get USB access under it. But for me, the whole point of getting XP Mode is to be able to run two key programs which require USB access. The USB devices have been successfully installed in Win 7 (it's the programs that require XP Mode).
I have tried with VMLiteXPMode, Virtual Box, and finally with Windows Virtual PC. The results are about the same. I am presently trying Windox Virtual PC. When I access the USB button on the top of the XP Mode box, there is a list of all the USB devices. This looks like things are fine. All the devices are there. Hooray. Oops, too soon! It still doesn't work. One still has to "attach" the USB device, by clicking its listing under USB devices. When I do this, I get the following error message:
"Could not attach the USB device. You can attach the USB to a different USB port or restart the virtual machine and try again."
Yes, I can and have done all those things, and I get the same error message again and again and again. This is true for all USB devices (except the USB mouse, which works perfectly and automatically in XP mode and is *not* listed under USB):
* Epson Perfection scanner
* HP Laserject printer
* the computer's own HP HD Webcam,
and
* the computer's own Wireless/Bluetooth Device
For example, the scanner and printer will work well in the host machine, where I have installed them, but they can't be "attached" in XP Mode.
Notes:
* I have enabled "integration features"
* I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the devices.
* If I try to install the printer in XP Mode, I can't do that, because this requires, at some point, the printer being plugged in to the USB. And I get the above error message when I try to attach it.
Also I have already had to deal with one driver issue (it came with the wrong driver for wireless; the right driver wasn't on the HP support page and couldn't be obtained by the computer's own "update' function), but when I finally discovered the right driver, wireless worked flawlessly
There is yet another possible driver issue, but I'll leave that for another topic later. One thing at a time.
