DFM alert for shutting down a port?

I am using LMS 3.2, and when are shutting down a port, I don't receive any alerts. Is there any alert for administratively shutting down a port of a device?

DFM criteria for a interface down is
ifOperStatus = down and ifAdminStatus = up.  If you down the interface then ifAdminStatus will be down and not up, so DFM does not treat this an alarmed event.

    Hi hello
    Can i create mcx for shut down properly mac when battery is less 5 % ?
    Thanks for your reply

    You can create a mailing list by using the "Groups" feature of Address Book. Simply select "New Group" from the File menu. Name the group, and drag the contacts you need into the group.
    In Mail, open up Preferences (under the Mail menu), and click on "Composing". Then make sure that "When sending to a group, show all member addresses" is unchecked.
    The auto reply is a feature that is better done on your mail server, as you Mac can only send an auto reply when it is on, with the Mail application open. If you use dot Mac, you can set up a vacation responder through the web, and you can leave your computer switched off.
    If you really want to leave your Mac on when you are on holiday, you can set up a mail rule (Preferences, Rules).

  • Sequence for shutting down Exchange 2010 Servers

    I have 3 mailbox servers, 3 CAS servers, 3 hubtransport servers, in active production, and I have 3 mailbox servers, 3 cas servers, and 3 hubtransport servers, as a DR.  I have a DAG between them and a Cassarray
    These Servers are virtualized using vmware.
    I need to know microsoft's BPA for shutting down these servers to move to another location.

    Follow these- are you completely shutting down the server or planning to do the maintenance.?
    http://exchangeserverpro.com/forums/exchange-server-2010/3186-datacenter-power-shutdown-need-shutdown-all-exchange-servers.html
    http://www.kreslavsky.com/2011/04/shut-down-exchange-2010-dag-member.html
    The correct way to perform any maintenance is to run first  StartDagServerMaintenance.ps1 script that is located under “C:Program FilesMicrosoftExchange ServerV14scripts”
    This script moves all the active databases to next preferred DAG server and prevents active databases from moving to that server during the maintenance.
    In addition the script ensures that all critical DAG support functionality that may be on this server has been moved to next proffered server
    Once the DR site servers are in maintenance mode you can bring the serves down in DR site first, CAS and then Hub.
    And then on the Primary Site shutdown the CAS and HUB, Dismount the DB and shutdown the servers.

  • DFM Alerts for B-channel backup on Fax

    Hi, every time a fax gets sent, this alert is coming from LMS, as the router b-channel interfaces come up.
    LMS is complaining that a backup interface had to kick in on the gateway router, and clears after about 5 minutes. I see the router up/up for this duration, then up/down and status cleared.
    I have no experience with voice yet, but am assuming this is normal behaviour for call setup and teardown when a fax is sent, right? Should I ignore this and turn off the DFM alert?

    By default, DFM classifies ISDN interfaces as dial backup.  Obviously this is not the case for this fax interface.  You can configure one of the DFM customizable interface groups to match this particular ISDN interface, and then prioritize that group so that it comes before the built-in Dial Backup group.  After applying the changes, this event should stop being generated.

  • Takes unusually too much time for shut down R Macbook pro 15

    During the shut down procedure I have the white screen for unusually long time. My R Mac book pro is a new one I have had this since the first day. I download a fresh OS X but still the same.

    You're still under warranty.  Take full advantage of it by calling Apple Care about your concerns.

  • Simple App For Shutting Down Remotely?

    I just got an iPod touch today, primarily to use to remotely control iTunes (but I'm sure I'll fund lots of other uses).
    Can anyone recommend an app that would allow remotely shutting down PPC and Intel Macs (and possibly a pc also)?

    Oh, p.s. Please do not suggest I go in and repair my iPhone, I've already did once - the fix lastest 2 weeks.

  • Dfm alerts for operationallydown

    Hi All,
    im having lms 4.2.2 and monitoring a cisco 7600 router interface ten gigabit ethernet x/x under dfm. When ever the interface is down due to any media issue i am not getting any alerts in dfm., the interface used to go down for more than 10 minutes. I am able to do an snmpwalk to this interface when the interface was down and getting the value as 2(for down). I am getting other information and configuration mode alerts in dfm for this device. please help to fix the problem.

    Can you verify that the interface is managed for monitoring the faults? Go to
    Monitor > Fault Settings > Setup > Fault Device Details
        select the device in the "Device Selector" and click "View"
        in the table that opens, there is a column "Device Name"; in this column, click on the device name and a new window opens with "Device Details"
        search the interface and check, that the mangement state is "true"

  • Applescript for shutting down MagicJack app

    I am trying to shutdown the magicjack app at a particular time of the day. When I run the following script (using iCal)
    --Quit MagicJack
    tell application "magicJack"
    quit
    end tell
    The app tries to quit but it throws a pop up asking if I really want to shutdown (Yes/No options). How can I complete the script to finish the shutdown (equivalent to pressing the Yes button or pressing the enter key on your keyboard).
    I am a newbie to applescript so any pointers/help would be appreciated.

    This should be easy enough. Here's an example of a script doing the same to an application named BBEdit:
    --Script begins
    (*Ignoring responses will prevent the script from pausing because a dialog has popped up. First we tell the application to quit*)
    ignoring application responses
    tell application "BBEdit" to quit
    end ignoring
    (*There's a delay here to allow time for a dialog to appear. You may need to make this longer if the application fails to quit*)
    delay 1
    (*Now we send a keypress to the application - in this case it's as if the user pressed the return key *)
    tell application "System Events" to tell process "BBedit"
    keystroke return
    end tell
    --script ends
    We may need to tailor this a bit if pressing the return key isn't enough to dismiss the dialog. Try quitting the application, and tell me which button is the default choice. If the default choice isn't to quit then let me know the names of the buttons in question and I should be able to work out how to do it.

  • What is the proper procedure for shutting down a TCPListener?

    Should the Server (the socket) be shutdown before stopping the TcpListener?
    sample:
    if (theTcpListener != null)
      if (theTcpListener.Server != null)
        if (theTcpListener.Server.Connected)
          theTcpListener.Server.Shutdown(System.Net.Sockets.SocketShutdown.Both);
          theTcpListener.Server.Disconnect(false);
          theTcpListener.Server.Close();
        theTcpListener.Server.Dispose();
      theTcpListener.Stop();
      theTcpListener = null;

    >>Should the Server (the socket) be shutdown before stopping the TcpListener?
    Close any TcpClient ( TcpClient client = server.AcceptTcpClient(); ) and the call the Stop() method on the TcpListener object. Please refer to the following sample code for more information:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.net.sockets.tcplistener%28v=vs.110%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
    As the documentation states: the Stop method closes the underlying Socket and creates a new Socket for the TcpListener but you are responsible for closing your accepted connections separately:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.net.sockets.tcplistener.stop(v=vs.110).aspx.

  • How can i shut down depreciation for an Asset for few days??

    Hi Friends,
    How can i shut down depreciation of a particular Asset for few days say 5 days??
    I have done the necessary changes in Time dependent tab like checked asset shut down and in AFAMA i changed the shut dawn as YES.
    The only problem i am in is "how can i maintain the 5 days like from 10.05.2009 to 14.05.2009
    If i go to MORE INTERVALS then only From date is available over there.There is no To date opition.
    How can i maintain To Date??
    Plz suggest.
    Regards,
    Sumaya

    Hi
    Go for shut down approach. But your depreciation key should allow shut down. check your depreciation key configuration
    In asset master data
    Go to time dependent terms,
    Define the appropriate time interval for shutdown
    Set the shutdown indicator
    The system does not calculate the depreciation for the shut down period,
    The useful life of the asset will increase to the extent of shutdown period.
    When you remove the shutdown indicator, system automatically resumes the depreciation calculation.
    Regards

  • OnPlus 100 scan, shutting down Broadcom network adapter

    I have recently installed an onPlus 100 in my network.  During the scanning process, the system seems to cause the network adapters on a few of my servers to shut down for 3-5 seconds at a time.
    This was not an issue with the server either before the onPlus was connected or after I shut it down.
    Has anyone seen this?
    Thanks,
    Switch:
    The server is plugged into a Cisco SG 300-52
    One Server:
    Dell PowerEdge R710
    Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition SP2 (32 bit)
    MS SQL Server 2000
    Broadcom BCM5709C NetXtreme II GigE   (x4 - only one in use)
    Repeating Errors:
    Broadcom BCM5709C: The network link is down. Check to make sure the network cable is properly connected.
    Broadcom BCM5709C: Network controller configured for 1Gb full-duplex link.
    The system detected that network adapter Broadcom...NetXtreme II GigE (NDIS VBD Client) #4 was connected to the network, and has initiated normal operation over the network adapter.

    I have not seen that issue before however I have had an issue in the past where OnPlus was triggering failed login attempts to Windows Servers in the Security Logs.  It's possible that the interface may be shutting down as some sort of protection mechanism though I would find that surprising.  To address this issue, I would recommend entering admin domain credentials in the Device Options tab of the ON100 in the OnPlus portal for that client site.
    The only other thing I could think of is if something in the SG 300-52 is shutting down the port the server is plugged into because of OnPlus scanning.  One possible solution, if it's an option, is to change the port the ON100 is plugged into to a Trunk Port instead of an Access port and Trunk all the VLANs down to it.  That will allow the ON100 to take a little more of a passive approach to collecting data about the network.  All of our installs including Trunking the port.

  • To shut down or to sleep

    Hi, recently I just bought a macbook (finally switching from pc to mac) and i heard people saying that it will be better if just put the macbook to sleep everyday instead of shutting it down.
    Is that true?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
    This is among the oldest debates of computing. And in fact there is a third alternative. Use the Screen Saver in Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Desktop and Screen Saver, and disable Energy Saver in Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Energy Saver for both display and hard drive.
    On the side of sleep:
    1. It conserves energy while running the computer.
    2. It can be used to prolong the times between recharging without closing down applications.
    Against sleep but for shutting down or using screen saver:
    Energy Saver has a bug that some peripherals don't understand the low power mode it puts the peripheral ports into. This primarily affects third party peripherals, but marginal cables that come from fraying can affect Apple peripherals too, and problems with the power management unit or clock battery (after the machine ages 4 years or more) can affect the ability of those ports to get the proper voltage to help some peripherals.
    Against sleep but for shutting down:
    Your hard drive will likely last longer if you transport the machine a lot, and you shut down instead of using sleep.
    Against shutting down a lot:
    The surge that goes through the power manager, or the power button's circuitry when you start up can shorten the life of the power manager and/or the power button. Not that you'd see any significant depreciation for many years, but it is there nontheless.
    Against sleep or shutting down:
    The operating system performs a daily, weekly, and monthly cleanup of log files which can be done from the Terminal application with Anacron or Macjanitor if you really do need to avoid using it in the middle of the night for an extended period of time. It will only do these in the wee hours of the morning.
    Regardless, it is strongly recommended you religiously backup your data*:
