DFM@LMS4.0.1 - no devices for Polling and Thresholds

Hello,
DFM with LMS4.0.1 got all wanted devices and is working fine so far except of we cant do settings on Polling & Thresholds, because we cant select anything:
How can we solve the problem? Many thx for hints in advance,

This is expected. You can only adjust polling and threshold parameters on groups. You cannot select individual devices. If you want to be able to control polling parameters or thresholds at the device level, you will need to customize one of the customizable fault groups to match the devices in question. Then you can adjust the polling and threshold group priorities so that customizable group is closer to the top. Apply your changes, then go and adjust the desired settings.

I am looking to have all my files in one place as i am hopelessly disorganised. I know the online clouds are a good solution (used Dropbox at work and uni for 3 years) however i am wanting to create my own 'dropbox/icloud' at home. So whenever i get back home with my laptop, any work i have been working on whilst out that day is updated to the timecapsule, and then ultimately as i turn on the other devices, they update to those newer versions of the files. Please tell me that the 3TB time capsule i have can do this, otherwise it feels rather overpriced as a wireless storage device?
Another note (to those in the know) If i am to be working on large files (REVIT/SOLIDWORKS/KEYSHOT/CREO/AUTOCAD) - is the timecapsule connection good enough to support editing and updating these files?
I know i may be asking a question that many have before, but as a bit of a technical novice I wanted a clear-cut answer to my specific circumstances. Your help is greatly appreciated.
(*can i use this WD hard-drive that is connected to the Time Capsule as a back up? so that the time machine back-ups/any back ups are also backed up onto this one? can the WD be a backup for the TC?)

Been like this for a day. I read the restore notes on apple, but this seems to be a little more unique than the standard recovery issues. Any ideas as to why I seem to keep stalling during the restore process?

Couple of things I can think of before going to the Apple store.
First, if you can, power off the iPad. Then connect it to the charger that came with the iPad and plug that into a known good wall outlet. Leave it there at least an hour then try to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.
Also, you mentioned you have the latest iTunes. But it would be good to check the actual version. If the iPad is running iOS 7 you need iTunes 11.1 or later.

Quick question!! Is it mandatory that I set up my DSL through the time capsule? I'd like to leave my current modem from my provider as the primary unit for networking. So in other words can I just set up the time capsule as a back-up device for now and

Based on the location of my iMAC right now it would be better to just leave the modem provided by my internet provider in place. I really just want to use the time capsule as a back-up storage device for now and connnect the ethernet cable from my ISP at a later date.

Generally it is easier to bridge the TC and plug it into the router.. it then lives on the network.. it is after all, a network drive.. and you can access it via your existing connection whether wireless or wired to the existing modem.
If you really want a totally stand alone setup please tell me how you are presently accessing internet on the Mac you want to backup on the TC.

Using two different sound devices for in and out

Hi,
I want to do the following:
For speakers I have the Logitech Z-10 that have an internal usb sound device. Sadly it hasn't a connector for a mic.
Nevertheless I'd like to use a microphone for teamspeak or ventrilo.
My mainboard has an onboard sound chip that I used before I had the Logitechs.
So my question is, can I use the usb speakers and the onboard chip simultaniously - one for out and one for in?
I alread adjusted my modprobe.conf so that every device has its index number but I don't know how to proceed.

You're right. In ventrilo I can chose different devices.
TS2 is not working att all. I can't neither hear nor use the mic. There's no option for selecting the device.
\edit: Ok, I installed TS via wine. Works like a charm. What a pitty that TS doesn't work under arch

we want to give out 100+ devices to our corporate users. what is the best way to enroll the devices so that they don't use a single account registered with Microsoft but use corporate email addresses (for ownership) and allow users to download apps from
the store. We also have a mdm solution in trial. but to download the agent from the store it needs a Microsoft account and that's not good thing for so many devices..also users do have access to that Microsoft account
also what is the best enterprise antivirus solution for these devices.

You can try using Intune, which does not require a download from the store.

You can provision Azure AD users for testing or use DirSync to test Intune with your current AD users.

Cisco Works Polling and threshold

Is it possible to sechedule polling for config backup and threshold based on device group (for eg all device in group a at 11:00 PM and devices in group B at 00:00 hrs etc)

Which version of LMS is this?
You can go to RME - Admin - Config Management - Collection settings to schedule period config backup for devices.
In DFM you can go to DFM - Configuration to threshold polling for groups.

Can't enroll device for user and this user account is not authorized to use Windows Intune.

We have SCCM 2012 R2 inegrated with intune via an intune subscription. When I enroll a device with my admin account there are no problems, but when I want to add it with another user account which is a member of the Intune users collection, it can't be enrolled.
When I tested on https://portal.manage.microsoft.com with the credentials of the user I couldn't connect and received the following error: This user account is not authorized to use Windows Intune.
Do I have to do anything in the https://accounts.manage.microsoft.com as there is a checkbox saying Windows Intune. this is unchecked now for all the users even my own account on which I'm able to enroll a device.
Or is this a license problem? I know configuration Manager uses licenses for Intune but where can we track how many licenses are used and how many available? Is there some kind of report available?

I added them yesterday and this morning I was still not able to enroll a device with the added user his credentials.
The UPN is correct. Maybe I need to force the DirSync then? Or will one day of waiting be enough normally?
I can see the user in the intune management portal. Does this means it has been synced?
Another thing I noticed is the cloudusersync.log doesn't show them being added? What I was thinking is I first used the all Users collection in the subscription and afterwards I changed it to a specific collection with only the test users. Could it be that
they all synced already and the log doesn't show them anymore?

Where are my devices for syncing and backing up with iTunes 12?

I plugged em in yesterday and they were there...now they are not visible in the bar next to the Music icon in the upper left bar!
I have unplug the USB, I have rebooted the iMac and the devices and notta.

If you cannot see your devices within iTunes on your iMac, then go over the first article to troubleshoot the issue. You may also want to reinstall iTunes by downloading and running the installer to get it working again.

Why does Xcode crash after it finds a device for development and I press "ignore"?

When I try to program with java, inevitably, Xcode detects an iOS device and asks me if I want to use it for development, even with bluetooth disabled. When I press either button, it crashes. How do I stop this?

It's likely that the startup drive, or some other hardware component, is failing. Back up all data immediately, then make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested. Do this before the warranty expires.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.

HUM. Device from poller and reports dissapeared in LMS 3

Hi,
We have noticed that some devices has dissapeared from HUM pollers and some quick reports have dissapeared too. It happened again some months ago. I would like to know:
1. How I can fix it.
2. Which logs I can see to troubleshoot the problem.
3. If is possible I can restore only the hum module from LMS backup

To get more verbose logging navigate to:
Health and Utilization Monitor > Admin > System Preferences
- Select Log Level Settings.
- Select the application module from the drop-down list.
- enable debug for "UPMProcess"
- Select the Debug log level from the Logging Level drop-down list.
The logs:
- HUMPortal.log
- upm_summarization.log
- jrm.log
- upm_process.log
Examining the resulting files will help determine the cause.

? How to setup as new device for testing and reverting back to old backup

I need to do some testing to see if my backup may be causing poor responsiveness from my home key.
I have already done a full restore but nothing has changed. I would like to create a new device and install a few apps to see how things go. Then, I want to erase all the settings and install my old backup if there is no change. I want to ensure I will have access to my all my backups as I dont want to lose them. I have tonnes of apps.
How can I accomplish this task?

Plug in to iTunes, select your device, select restore. When it is done, say Set up as New iPod. When you are done, simply repeat the process except select Restore from Backup when it is done.

Storage device for mac AND pc

Hi, last night I dropped my nano and the screen is fairly broken - lots of cracks and no picture at all (although the light comes on). Not really too bothered - it was only 1gb, got it free with my computer, and the click wheel was being tricksy, so not the end of the world.
I have just bought myself a new nano, but what to do with the old one. Was going to use it just for storage, but will it only work on a mac, or is that just when it's using itunes?
Is there anyway to format it so that itunes won't open automatically for just the broken ipod? What about getting it to work on pcs and macs?

If you are using iTunes from version 7 onwards, then when you connect the iPod the summary screen should automatically open.
On the 'summary' page you will see the options to:
"open iTunes when this iPod is attached". Make sure it isn't selected.
What about getting it to work on pcs and macs?
It will need to be formatted on Windows in order for it work on both platforms. This is because Windows cannot recognize a Mac formatted drive (without the aid of 3rd party software), but Macs can recognize both.
