DHCP 2008 R2 - MMC Cannot Initialize Snap-in when clicking on Address Leases
I recently migrated my DHCP/DNS to a Windows 2008 R2 server. It generally seems to be working fine however, whenever I click on "Address Leases" within my scope it iterates all the leases and either at the end (or close to it) I just get the error "MMC cannot initalize the snap-in".
I have the Management tools installed on my XP machine, I when I view the DHCP then it all works fine so it just appears to be when I try to access it from within the server.
Anyone have any thoughtsjammyDP
Hi Benoit,
If your concerned about the scope you can initiate a reconcile from netsh this will check and reconcile the current scope. It will
also verify the scopes and check for inconsistencies and optionally fix any inconsistencies that it finds in the database.

Hi Bink Wills,
If you can't click Window and then iTunes to bring the Window to the Front, try suggestions in the following article.

"The Page Cannot Be Displayed" error when clicking the Remote Agent
Hi everyone! We have installed ACS SE 4.0 and we have added a remote agent running on Windows Server 2003. Recently, we are encountering "The page cannot be displayed" error when we click the RA under a network device group. This is resolved by rebooting the ACS SE appliance and accessing the ACS SE web console again but after few hours, problem reoccurs. Clicking the links on the ACS SE web console is okay at first but after clicking the RA, every link shows the error "The page cannot be displayed." Hope you could help us on this problem. Anyone's support is very much appreciated.
Thanks!Hi JG,
Thank you so much for your response. Does Cisco have a documentation that states that this is a known issue with 4.0, such as release notes, for we might need this for the proposal upgrade?
Again, thanks a lot! -
Cannot connect to Internet when click on a link in Reader X?
Hi, I have this problem with Reader X - when I click on a link, the Reader asks me if I want to "allow access"? I click Yes, but nothing happens - I am not redirected to a page on the net, nor any of my browsers open it. Basically I now have to manually copy the link into browser.
Also, when I use forms in PDF and want to submit them - the same thing happens - Reader does not connect to the Internet. Please, help! How can I fix this? I have looked into settings but can find nothing about connecting to the Internet.
Would really appreciate any advice. Thank you.I'm having the exact same problem. XP HOME, Firefox 3.6.3, Outlook 2003. I ignored the problem for the last couple of months, but now it's annoying that after clicking on the links, i have to physically switch to Firefox browser to view the link. When I switch to the already open browser, the new tab is already open.
Any help is appreciated. -
MMC cannot open the file msisa.msc
Hi, I've been dealing with this problema for a few hours and been searching all over to find no solution to it.
I have installed a TMG 2010 SP2 server on a Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Server.
The installation goes OK, I'm installing first the EMS server. When I try to open the console I get the following Error:
I have already checked the MMC versión on the OS is 3.0.
I've already reinstalled quite a few times.
I have disabled the antivirus and even uninstalled it from the server.
When I try to open the TMG Console by first opening the mmc and adding the snap-in, I get the console tree but no content anywhere else.
The installation files have already SP1 and SP2 with the latest update rollup.
The computer is domain joined.
The user account is a local admin.
The server had the latest updates installed, so I tried uninstalling some of them, even the IE11 that was installed, but still got the same problem.
I also have another server and getting the same problem.
I have used those same installation files before and didn't get this issues.
Any ideas on why this is happening?
Thanks for your help!

Windows 2008 R2 - I just started receiving this when i log in, and also when i try to manage the machine:
MMC Cannot open the File:
C:\Windows\system32\ServerManager.msc
This may be because the file does not exist , is not an MMC console , or was created by a later version of MMC. This may also be be because you do not have sufficient access rights to the file.
This always worked before, and works for other users just not me on this particular box. This is a production box and i need a resolution quick please. Thanks in advance.

Address Leases not appeared in the scopes at DHCP Windows 2008 R2 ent
Hi Friends,
Recently couple of days ago we have migrated from DHCP Server ( Windows Server 2003 R2 32 ) to Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit Virtual Machine.
After migration, most of the scopes seem empty, no Address Leases appeared in the scopes even most of the reservations also not appeared from DHCP MMC but the client machines obtaining IPs and DHCP VM is working fine.
After investigation I have found following event log errors.
Are these event log errors related to this Issue and what will be problem. Please advise.

Hello,
I used FDK9 and FrameMaker 8. I used Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition and Microsoft SDKs to compiled sample FDK hellowho.c program, This program locate under FDK directory C:\Program Files\Adobe\FDK9\samples\hellowho. It complied fine without error or warning message. I registered the hellowho.dll to fminit directory and added the hellowho=Standard,Greets user with custom greeting defined at startup,fminit\hellowho.dll, all to file maker.ini under FrameMaker directory C:\Program Files\Adobe\FrameMaker8. I got error message below when open FrameMaker:
"Cannot initialize API client C:\Program Files\Adobe\FrameMaker8\fminit\hellowho.dll
Check your errors in the APIClients section of C:\Program Files\Adobe\FrameMaker8\maker.ini, verify that the client program exists and make you sure you have enough swap space to run the client."
Any idea?
Thank you.
Thai NguyenAny idea?
Thank you.
Thai NguyenHi Thai ,
There are 2 issues regarding your problem statement
1)FDK9 is compiled using VC2005 and you are using VC2008 which may lead to issues which you are facing. If possible you may want to verify this by using VC2005
2)If the problem persists after doing step 1, you can try using FDK8 to compile and see if it works fine.
Thanks

IPod is not displaying in iTunes or Windows; updater cannot initialize it
I have looked through ALL the relevant tutorials/manuals on my 2GB black, iPod nano, and they have not helped. The updater cannot initialize or even find my iPod, and an occassional autosearch window pops up. Please help.
It´s really sad that the following info is not posted on Apple´s support sites:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=451219&tstart=15
My iPod had the same problem and reformatting it in Windows Explorer (NO Quickformat!) fixed it. After this (took some time) the iPod Updater recognized the iPod again and I could restore the firmware. From then on I had no problems.
Apple: Please add this information to your official support pages since too many people have that problem. -
Can't start FM 9 on Windows 7: "cannot initialize dictionaries"
I am trying to move a copy of FM 9 from an old laptop to a new one running Windows 7 Enterprise. My IT guy reinstalled the software from CD and applied my license key. When I try to start FM, it gives this error during the "Core" startup: "FrameMaker cannot initialize its dictionaries. Either the LanguageDir entry specified in the initialization file is missing or incorrect, or the files in the LanguageDir are missing or corrupted."
I still have the old laptop, so I can compare and copy the files and directories directly. As far as I can see, the LanguageDir entry in the maker.ini is identical on both machines. Both have a dict folder, and I see the same number of files in both. Just for good measure I copied the old folder's contents across to the new folder, but that didn't help.Very good that you found the cause. I remember now that it was recommended to copy the installation files to your hard disk. See the FrameMaker online help:

Power map- Cannot initialize DirectX
I am running windows 7 in a VM with MS office 2013. I have installed power map for excel 2013. When I try to launch power map in excel it gives this error "Cannot initialize DirectX. Confirm that you hardware supports DirectX 10 or later and that you
have the latest video card driver installed."
