DHCP / Printing to remote office
Hello Experts
I hope this is the right forum for my question. I am having trouble finding a way to print to remote locations. There is a closed Intranet from which the remote locations access the SAP backend. In the remote locations we only use custom developed IAC's in the Internet Explorer. No SAPGui is installed on the PC's in the remote locations. The SAP System is running on SAP Netweaver 7.0 and we are using internal ITS. All devices (including printers) in the remote locations use DHCP protocol. How can I define these remote printers in SPAD to spool SAP Forms output to the remote printers? What other solution could there be for this problem? Any input from you would be a great help.
Thanks in advance for your advice.
Harry
Hello,
Depending on what operating system your SAP server is on, you can choose access methods S and U for your systems.

Unable to print to printer in remote office
When the user tries to print we see the print job being created on the redirected printer status screen (HP MFP M127) but the print job is never printed (we see it come in the spooler and out)
In the event log we see the following error: How can we fix this?

) by default and it is compatible with Windows 2012 r2). Do not know how to check authority for printfilterpipelinesvc.exe but the server is only running the standard Windows 2012 R2 with one accounting application(Quickbooks Pro 2014) nothing
else ! ( no other applications). The server is in Hyper-V if that makes a difference.

The other thing we tried is we installed a local HP printer to the server, accessed the remote desktop from one of the local PC and we can print to the local printer via the remote desktop session. The printer is not redirected but shows that
the print and spool functions are working properly.
I don't know what else to try, any suggestions would be appreaicated.

Hi Experts ,
Need help with the respect to understand the best practice to place/create the DHCP scope for remote site Guest SSID which will be connected to HQ Foeign-Anchor controller set-up.
how about internet traffic for Guest SSID , which one will be recommanded :
1) Guest SSID gets authenticated from HQ ISE and exposed to the local internet
2) Guest SSID gets authenticated from HQ ISE and exposed to the HQ internet
ThanksHi George ,
Thanks for your reply ...So you mean, best design would be to create the DHCP scope into DMZ for guest and let it get exposed to HQ internet ...
how about if I have another anchor controller in lets say in other office and I need to anchor the traffic or load balance from HQ foreign controller , in that case if I create DHCP scope into HQ anchor controller and if its down , I will loose the connectivity , how do I achieve fail-over to another anchor ?
Do I need to create secondary scope into another anchor controller and let the client get reauthenticated from other location ISE and get ip address as well from another anchor controller . Is it what you are proposing ? -
HP 1300 wont print from Remote Desktop applications
I have an HP 1300n attached via USB to a windows 7 computer. I log onto a clien'ts windows 2003 server using remote desktop application. I have installed the driver to HP 1300 PCL 5 on the remote server and of course it's installed on the windows 7 machine. I can see the HP via port TSXxx on the remote server but when printing, nothing happens. The document is sent to the "printer" but doesnt print in my office. I've tried many solutions and nothing so far works. I have 3 other windows 7 computers and 3 others HP 1300 and all are experiencing the same thing.
Hi Sriram,
I am glad to see that you have found solution from the other thread you posted here:

Printing to Remote Printer via Internet
I travel a lot and would like to print to my office while on the road. I know I can email, but I also would like to have this capability if it's possible. Is there a way to set up the two computers to achieve this? If so how would I do it? Any help would be appreciated.
(Need more details to give better instructions. what printer - is it connected to a computer?)
You will have to enable port forwarding through the office router's firewall. This involves telling the router to send requests for a specific port to a specific local IP address. (and could be a security risk) Since most routers get their internet IP address by DHCP (it can change at any time), you'll probably need to subscribe to a service that keeps track of that, called dynDNS.org, so you can always use a (stable) domain name instead of IP address to print.
Does it sound like what you want to do? -
Remote Office DHCP_REQD problem - users cannot receive IPs
Dears,
I am trying to implement a remote office into our WLC 5508 environment.
Actually I have already did everything
- Local DHCP - OK
- VLANs at SW CORE - OK
- Lightweight AP already connected to a access switch, port in trunk, w/ "native vlan 3"
- HQ and Remote Office have different VLAN names but I have already did the vlan mapping
HQ
Remote Office
For some reason, users in remote office can authenticate very well... but they do not receive IPs...
Also, at the beggining of all this process, even after the new remote AP joined to WLC, for some reason all SSIDs received were not appearing to all users.... I had to go thru WLAN > AP GROUPS, then create a group "REMOTE" and added all WLANs (wnet, guest, mobile, consulting...) and the new remote office AP (AP01-RJOP) to that group... did I do right ?
Does anybody have a documentation explaining how to implement this environment in a remote office ?
thanks!
Thanks in advance!!AP Groups are optional so it must be a configuration that was missed. Tale a look at this support doc which is step by step.

Printing to remote desktop client printer
We have a remote office connecting to a terminal server at head office. The remote office has a network printer. How can we configure the terminal connection to enable printing to the remote network printer at the remote office?
There are two ways
1. Site to site vpn (IPSEC) between two sites. And add the printer directly to Terminal Server
or,
2. Enable RDP printer on it. (See below)

Keep driver store equal in about 200 remote offices
Hello,
just to be sure to do the right thing.
We are migrating about 200 remote offices to oes/linux and want to keep the
driver store equal on all servers.
I will use a central server, setup the driver store there, put then all
drivers into a rpm and use zen linux management for distributing it.
After distribution in zlm I would restart the novell-idsd and everthing
should be fine.
Whenever a new driver is added, I would insert that driver at the central
server - driver store, put again everthing into a rpm, distribute it ,,,,
Should that be okay ?

An RPM is probably not the best method for distributing the content of
the driver store. The reason is that an RPM's contents should not
change or be subject to deletion through the standard use of software.
Drivers and other files inside the driver store will change over time as
indexes get re-written or drivers get deleted. This will cause a
verification of the RPM to fail (rpm -V <pkg.rpm).
In your case, I would recommend that you still sync drivers via rsync or
similar method and not use and RPM to distribute the drivers. That's my
opinion anyway.
Good luck.

Unable to allow traffic from remote office - Cisco RV220W
Hi there,
I have just bought the RV220W Cisco router firewall because my DLINK-1600 got broken and now I am unable to allow access to the machines located behind this router from the machines located at a remote office. Any help would be much appreciated!!
This is the situation:
1. Two remote offices A and B connected by a VPN tunnel (this connection is managed by an external provider and it is properly functioning)
2. IP range A office: 192.168.236.0/24
3. IP range B office: 192.168.237.0/24
4. Office A: CISCO RV220W router/firewall (the one that I´ve just bought as the old dlink has broken). This RV220W is connected to a cisco router (managed by provider) that is the one with the VPN tunnel to the other office. The CISCO router does not do NAT. On the other end (Office B) there is another CISCO router managed by the provider.
5. Everything was working smoothly until our old router/firewall got broken and that is when I bought the rv220w. I have set up the CISCO RV220W at office A and the machines can ping the machines located at office B and can browse the internet, i.e., the traffic going out is OK and in that sense everything works smoothly.
6. The problem is that the machines located at office B cannot access the machines located behind the CISCO RV220W and I know it is a problem of the firewall as if I capture traffic coming from office B, I can see that it is dropped by the CISCO RV220W.
7. I have tried to enable an access rule in the firewall to allow traffic from office B (see picture below) but it does not seem to work. In the field, Send to Local Server (DNAT IP) I have entered the WAN IP of my router (you cannot leave it blank) … this rule does not work at all. I think that is not properly configured but I don´t know how to do it.
8. As you see, the problem is that I don´t know how to set up a rule to allow specific traffic coming from the WAN (traffic from remote office – 192.168.237.0/24) to the LAN at office A - 192.168.236.0/24.
In the old router/firewall I just had to create a rule specifying the source interface (WAN) and network (Office B) and the destination interdace (LANOfficeA) and network (Office A). It does not seem that here I can do the same. i mean, you always have to point to a server ip inside the LAN??
I know it has to be a very easy thing to do but at this moment I am completely stuck. If anyone can give me some advice would be great.
Thanks a lot for your help in advanced!
EvaHi Eva, the default inbound policy cannot be changed. It will block all inbound traffic. To my knowledge there is not a way around this. Access rules are the only way to 'poke' a hole through the firewall but as you note, it is for a specific host. Values such as .0 and .255 do not work.

Printing to Remote Printer in another state
Not sure I am in the right section of this discussion board, but can I print to remote printer via the internet? Instead of faxing or emailing, can I send a document to a printer through the web but without additional software, will Leopard let me do it?
Only if the remote printer is accessible over the Internet, and the remote site provides you with the information needed to access it. Otherwise, you'd be better off emailing the document to the remote site and let them print it directly.

Trouble Printing to Network Printer via Remote Desktop Connection
Specs:
Macbook Pro, early 2013,
Mavericks (10.9.2),
Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection v.8.0.5 (latest),
Connecting to Windows Server 2008 standard
Printer, HP LaserJet P2035n, connected via the network
When on the Mac connected to the server, the printers from the Mac are redirected so you're supposed to be able to print from Remote Desktop to the HP printer. However, when you select something to print, the job goes to the print and keeps printing over and over and over again until you cancel the print job, which it usually allows you to do, or turn off the printer, which you have to do when it won't let you cancel the job.
Any advice on how to get the printer connection running normally? What you haven't told us is what method you use to connect/setup the printer on Windows. There are two ways - Bonjour for Windows (free software from Apple), and TCP/IP raw port 9100. If you have a problem using one, try the other.

I had Cs2 and Office for Mac 2004 installed on an OS 10.6.3 system. Worked fine. This weekend my computer did an auto update to OS 10.6.8 and now I cannot save or print from any office or CS2 Apps. What happened. Office also freezes and I have to force quit. Any advise. System or Software problem?
Bad timing. Reapply the security update:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1489
What happened is that version 1.0 of the security update was available for a bit of time this weekend, and that disabled Rosetta. Version 1.1 brought it back.
