DI 11.5.1.5 on 64 bit server

I havent been able to find out if Data Integrator (XI) 11.5.1.5 can be run on a 64bit windowsserver. Does any on know?

Hi,
there is no native 64 bit Support for DI in your version. You can install DI on a 64bit Hardware machine with a 64bit Windows OS.
However it will only run in 32bit mode ("only" 4 GB will be adressed). Please also note that all your middleware (Oracle Driver, DB2 Driver, etc.) has to be installed in the 32bit Versions.
For further Informations please check the supported plattforms document for DI.

  • Oracle gateway for Oracle 10g DB on Windows 64 bit server

Is there any place that I can find Oracle dateway for Oracle 10g DB on Windows 64 bit server? I can only find Gateway for Oracle 11g on Windows 32 bit server. Please help me to identify this. Thanks.

    yingkuan:
Thanks a lot. The link tells the details. It seems that Oracle has not release Gateway for Oracle database 10.2.0.x on Windows 64 bit server. Probably they don't do it.
So under this circumstance, if I want to install Gateway (32 bit) on Oracle 10.2.0.3 DB on Windows 64 bit server for Teradata, I probably have to install Gateway software in another Oracle Home, then configure it right. Please give more advice on this. 32 bit Gateway will work for 64 bit database?

  • Running SAP Business One on a 64-bit server

One of our clients wants to upgrade their server to a 64-bit server running Windows Server 2008.
What are the implications of this and do we also need to then use Microsoft SQL Server 2008?
I went to this web link: https://websmp103.sap-ag.de/smb/sbo/platforms and found some info, but the questions I still have is the following:
    1. If we upgrade to SQL 2008, do we have to buy licenses or can we also just get an installation from SAP with our software (if we've gone live over 2 years ago already on SQL 2000, then upgraded to SQL 2005).
    2. Can we still stay on SQL 2005 or is it better to use SQL 2008 and what is the implications?
I found the following on the link posted above:
Mar 11: SAP Business One 2007 now supports Microsoft® SQL Server 2008.
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 is now fully supported by SAP Business One 2007 A (as of patch 47) and SAP Business One 2007 B (as of patch 10), including SAP-developed add-ons.
Jan 21: SAP Business One 2007 now supports Microsoft® Windows Server 2008.
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 is now fully supported by SAP Business One 2007 A (as of patch 46) and SAP Business One 2007 B (as of patch 09), including SAP-developed add-ons. 64-bit and WTS support are still pending and will be announced when available.
What exactly does the bold part mean?
Any tips/hints on making this decision will be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Adele

    Hi Adele,
"64-bit and WTS support are still pending and will be announced when available" means that Windows 2008 64bit has not been tested working with SAP Business One yet. Thus not supported (yet).
    Same applies to W indows T erminal S erver 32bit and 64bit.

I am not sure if procedure as described in note [928839|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMSZ3PTU4ODAwMDAr)/bc/bsp/spn/smb_searchnotes/display.htm?note_langu=E&note_numm=928839] will apply. In order to get excact clarification I have asked the owner of the note to update it reagarding MSSQL 2008 licenses.

Yes, you can still stay on MSSQL 2005 and upgrade later to MSSQL 2008. The other way around will not work. MSSQL 2008 is currently supported only as of SAP Business One 2007 A PL47 or SAP Business One 2007 B PL10. I downloaded the Oracle 10g HTTP server for Windows 2008 R2 (64-bit) from the link below

Did anyone have luck installing the 10g HTTP server on a Windows 2008 R2 (64-bit) server ?
I could see the installation went fine, but I don't see any "Oracle_HTTP" windows service getting created.

I have not installed on this OS but I'm betting the service is a different name.

  • Run SSIS programmatically in 32-bit mode on 64-bit server

    Environment:
    Windows Server 2003 64-bit
    SSIS 32-bit & 64-bit installed
.NET 2.0 application (Platform target x86) which executes an SSIS package programatically (using Microsoft.SQLServer.ManagedDTS.dll)
The issue I am having is that we connect to a Sybase server and even though the .NET app is executing in 32-bit mode, the SSIS pack appears to try load Sybase 64-bit OLEDB drivers.
The error I receive is DTS_E_CANNOTACQUIRECONNECTIONFROMCONNECTIONMANAGER
When I run on a 32-bit machine all runs fine or if I run using the 32-bit version of DTEXEC the package also runs fine.
Any ideas on how I can force SSIS to use 32-bit drivers when run on 64-bit server programatically?

Is there any solution to the above problem since i am facing a similar issue when trying to connect to Excel file.
The package is executed by managed code using the
Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime namespace and Application class to load the package and execute.
The source of the data flow task in the pacakge is excel and destination is sql server database.
I tried changing ther registry settings to load the package in 32 bit mode but it seems this works only if you use DTExec utility not if you load and run the package programmatically using the above API.
Please let me know how can i load and execute the package in a 32 bit runtime"PROGRAMMATICALLY" so that 32 bit drivers like the one for Excel are available and can be loaded.

  • Running a 32 bit app on a 64 bit server issue

Please help! I have been trying all of the fixes on the internet and nothing seems to work. I am trying to use the Oracle OLE DB Provider to run a 32 bit application on a 64 bit server - tried on a 2008 R2 and a 2003 SP2, both fail. I have tried with Oracle 11g 11.1.0.6.0 client and the 10.2.0.4.0 client - both fail.
It keeps installing the bin and inventory directories into the Program Files (x86) folder and I am assuming it is trying to run the 64 bit dll's instead of the 32 bit Oracle OLE DB provider DLL's. I have made a new installation and had it install into C:\ProgramFilesx86 but it still installs the bin and inventory files into C:\Program Files (x86). I have tried moving the contents and editing the registry, all I can find is that the inst_loc is pointing to C:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle\Inventory so I change it to the file I created and restart the computer, still get an error when trying to test using a udl file.
Error shows: "Provider is no longer available. Ensure that the provider is installed properly."
I have also tried unregistering the OLE DB dll's located inside C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Ole DB for oledb32.dll and oledb32r.dll. It only lets me unregister the oledb32.dll. For oledb32r.dll it says the entry point for dllregisterserver was not found. I then register the oledb32.dll file inside of C:\program files (x86)\common files\system\ole db and then restart the server. Still get the UDL error and when i try to connect the application it just say DNS is not reachable. In the tnsnames.ora file there is no reference to the Program Files (x86) directory.
Does anyone have any idea how I can get a 32 bit application using Oracle OLE DB provider to run on a 64 bit server?
    Thank you!
    Jeff M.

    Hi,
Can you please let me know how you resolved it? I am facing the same issue.

  • Installing ArcSDE on a 32-bit server to connect to a Oracle DB on Itanium

I am looking for a resolution to have ArcSDE installed to work on a HP Intanium Server with Oracle 9i.
The present option is can I install ArcSDE on a 32-bit server and use the Net8 /Oracle Client connection to access the Oracle 9i Database on a seperate server that is running Itanium 64-bit.
    Is this supported method

I'm not sure if it is fully supported, but is "should" work. I have used the 32-bit ArcSDE on a Win2000 server (also client win 2000 boxes with direct connect) to access a Solaris 9-64 Oracle 9iR2 server.

  • How to get GD library to work on 64-bit server.. tips...

After several days struggling, I have successfully managed to install the GD libraries on Leopard 64-bit Xserve and I want to share my experience.
First, I’m NOT AN EXPERT but I hope this posting may help people !
Just a reminder, my experience is for a 64-bit SERVER running PHP Version 5.2.4, MySQL 5.0.45. Apache 2.2 (all out-the-box Leopard functionality).
The instructions/tutorials for doing this can be found at: http://osx.topicdesk.com. You will need to follow (1) “Installing GD on OS X Server 10.5.x” and (2) “Adding the GD Extension to PHP5 on OS X Server 10.5.x”. These are VERY WELL WRITTEN and CLEAR, WELL DONE topicdesk.
However, as the instructions clearly state you need a “basic understanding of the terminal”.
For the 64- bit build, you need to set various shell variables, e.g. MACOSXDEPLOYMENTTARGET, CCFLAGS. These are used by the “configure” script.
Now, a quick lesson in UNIX. UNIX has several shells or command-line interpreters, for example sh or bash, and the way variables are “passed across” to scripts differ.
This is important and is the clue/magic for getting the instructions to work for 64-bit. YOU NEED TO ENSURE THE VARIABLES ARE BEING PASSED ACROSS TO THE SCRIPT by (in my case for bash) using the export command.
These were MY steps, they worked for me:
    1. I logged in as root (shock-horror) using su.
    2. I switched to the bash shell by typing the command bash.
    3. Using the topicdesk documentation, I then created the following script called “gd_setenv.sh” to set up the shell variables. NOTE the “export” at the end of the line ! I also had to remove a spurious space in one of the parameters.
    MACOSXDEPLOYMENTTARGET=10.5; export MACOSXDEPLOYMENTTARGET
    CFLAGS="-arch ppc -arch ppc64 -arch i386 -arch x86_64 -g -Os -pipe -no-cpp-precomp"; export CFLAGS
CCFLAGS="-arch ppc -arch ppc64 -arch i386 -arch x86_64 -g -Os -pipe"; export CCFLAGS
    CXXFLAGS="-arch ppc -arch ppc64 - arch i386 -arch x86_64 -g -Os -pipe"; export CXXFLAGS
LDFLAGS="-arch ppc -arch ppc64 -arch i386 -arch x86_64 -bindatload"; export LDFLAGS
    4. Your will then need to make the script executable by chmod +x gd_setupenv.sh
    5. Now run it. NOTE THE SPACE AFTER THE FIRST DOT. This will set the variables up in the current shell environment.
    bash-3.2$ . ./gd_setup.env
    6. Check it (note the dollar sign at the start of the variable name !). This should display 10.5
    $ echo $MACOSXDEPLOYMENTTARGET
    7. Follow the topicdesk instructions. DO NOT LOGOUT or exit the bash shell between steps as this will loose the shell script variables.
    8. As per the topicdesk instructions don’t forget to edit the php.ini file.
    I hope this helps,
    john
p.s. once again I'd like to thank topicdesk for their VERY USEFUL tutorials.

    I think you need lib32-gtk-engines.
EDIT: Never mind doesn't work for me either, lib32-gtk-engines fixes only the wrong elf class message.

  • Officejet 8600 driver won't install on a 64-bit Server 2008 R2

Hello, this has been discussed before but it looks like the links with resolutions are dead.  A client has an Officejet 8600 all-in-one printer and wants to use the 2008 R2 64-bit server as a desktop with the printer directly attached.  One of the proposed solutions was to install Desktop Expeirence, which I did, but still no go.  I get a message that the drivers are only for Win XP, 2003, and Vista - the current system is not compatible.  The problem is, the drivers are downloaded from the HP site when 2008 R2 64-bit is specified.  Are there any workarounds, or should I just consider this printer uninstallable?  Thanks.

Hi Stephen00101010 , sorry to hear that you are unable to get the printer installed. I do apologize for the inconvenience, however the operating system that you are using is not supported with the use of this printer.
    Thank you.

  • B1DE (AddOn Installer) for 64 bit server

    Hi All,
I have a problem. One of my client has a 64 bit server. AddOn installation created with B1DE for SAP 2007 doesn't work on that server. After running SAP AddOn is trying to install, and then there is an error. Is there any way to create AddOn installation files that work on 64 bit server?
    Regards
    Hmg

Both Robin and Owen are right... You need to run your code as forced 32 bit.
    The reason is the following:
    - A default project in Visual Studio is compiled as "Any CPU"
       - Any CPU means that you code will be executed as 32bit on a 32bit machine, and 64bit on a 64bit machine.
       - The Any CPU option is great for pure .NET (since all parts of it can run 32bit and 64bit)
       - In case of the SAP SDK and the AddonInstaller.dll, these are COM-based unmanaged code
          - If such unmanage code is not written to work with 64 bit, problems like yours can occur (this happens not only for SAP SDK... Tons of API out there have the same problems)
    - If you change the Any CPU option to the x86 option, you will force 64 bit mashines to run your code in "simulated" 32bit (Don't worry.. it is quite fast and gives no problems)
We are you this with our 64 bit customers and without any problems...
Lastly, if you wish to know more about this please hear the following podcast that describes the issue in detail (A good listen): http://www.dotnetrocks.com/default.aspx?showNum=341

I try the same thing in a Windows 2003 32 Bits with the same parameters and works fine i can see de User Groups and The Users from the same BW Server.
I Think i could be a problem with the 64 bits server the issue is the users from SAP BW are not imported.

we have some thing similar issue. can you please help us out.
We Imported users and in options we selected concurrent and every thing worked fine up to 1 month and then automatically our license key say you have only 2 named users. we have a license key for 100 named users now. do we need to delete all the concurrent users from sap now and we need to re-import them by selecting named in options tab of sap. what is the work around for this. i tested by changing the one of the sap user profile to named instead of concurrent, then i am able to login to infoview using sap credentials but when i open a report its says you don't have enough license to perform this operation. can i know why is this happening.

  • How to create ADC in SBS 2008 64 bit Server for SBS 2003 32 bit Server?

    Hi,
We have single windows SBS 2003 32 bit server with AD to run database as well as application of the Company. We are planning to add one more server to the network with SBS 2008 64 bit for load balancing. I just confused that two SBS servers are not compatible

Please let me know the procedure to add the SBS 2008 64 bit server as Additional Domain Controller to SBS 2003 32 bit PDC so that ADC to take role if PDC fails.
Any other ways to meet my requirement?

  • Error installing SQL Compact 3.5 sp2 on 2012 64-bit server.

Sql Compact 3.5 sp2 will not install on 2012 64-bit server.  I'm getting an error that the replication components need to be installed for Sql 2008.  My Sql Server is at sp1 (11.0.3393) and is replicating currently to another Sql Server.
Both 64 and 32 bit installs gives me this error.

First, you need the latest tools, build 8089, download links here:
    http://erikej.blogspot.dk/2010/08/sql-server-compact-35-sp2-downloadable.html
And secondly (I assume this is a 2 server configration, with separate IIS and SQL Server?) - you need to install the 2012 database engine as well, to get the replicaation components installed (just stop and disable the SQL Server service after install, so
it does not consume any unneccesary resources)
And thirdly, SQL 2012 SP1 is not enough, you must install the latest CU, both on the IIS server and on the database server.
Let me know if that was unclear.
