Diablo II EAX Windows 7 64 bit working

I just installed Diablo II .09 battle.net download edition on my Windows 7 64 bit system. The game does have an option for EAX, but you CANNOT check it, until you modify the key given in ALCHEMY's database like so:
original:? (this key will work on 32 bit systems)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Blizzard Entertainment\Diablo II\InstallPath
New: (*for 64 bit vista and 7)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Blizzard Entertainment\Diablo II\InstallPath
Some users state that 64 bit systems automatically find the new key for you after adding the legacy key, but the option will stay greyed out until you make the simple "WOW6432Node" change.

Since I have a browser choice, I surely want to use Safari 5 on my Windows 7 machine but so far I am having no luck. Safari runs for X minute (time varies) and then all of sudden crashes with a message "Safari has stopped working."
Fingers crossed, the problem reports for those errors might cast some fresh light on the source of the problem.
Head into your Problem Reports and Solutions control panel (or the Windows 7 equivalent ... the Action Center?) and look for recent Safari problem reports. Open them up and look through. Do they all seem to be saying the same thing? If so, paste the contents of a typical problem report into a reply here so we can have a look.

  • Halo: Combat Evolved EAX Windows 7 64 bit working!

I used the newest version of Alchemy and Halo .05, with Windows 7 64 bit.
The settings that are provided for 32 bit vista work as well in Windows 7.
If you run 64 bit Windows 7 or Vista here is the new key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\ Microsoft Games\Halo\EXE Path
Upon adding the game to the list, and then making the above change from the original provided below.........HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsof t\Microsoft Games\Halo\EXE Path.......
the game sounds beautiful and has positional audio back. Before using Alchemy, my 5. setup is just plain stereo upmixed.

    Thank you.

    Hello
I found your notebook on Canadian support page and it is supported for Win7 64bit. With other words you can download drivers from download page - http://support.toshiba.ca/support/Download/ln_byModel.asp
    Check it out.

Nothing seems to work to get printer working.

    Hey @Jskol ,
Thank you for taking the time to post on the HP Forums today! Hope you enjoy the experience.
I understand you are having some issue making your HP Laserjet 1200 on windows 7 64 bit work.
Can you please elaborate on what it is that you are experiencing so that I am able to assist you properly? Is it new and not connecting right? Has it lost communication and is now not working? How is it connected to the computer?
Have a great day and a wonderful new year. Get back to me.

  • Snow and Boot Camp and Windows 7 64 Bit and 8GB RAM

So - here is my problem...
I hab my MacBook Pro 4,1 (early 2008) running with 4 GB RAM and Leo 10.5.8. I used Leo Boot Camp to have my Vista 32 Bit running for my office things. Everything worked fine.
Then I decided to do two things.
    - Upgrade to Snow Leopard and install Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit. (I have it already.)
    - Upgrade memory to 8 GB RAM
    Step 1.
I did the upgrade to SL. No problems. Then I did the installation of Windows 7 64 bit. No problems. The machine is running stable.
    Step 2:
I upgraded the memory to 8 GB RAM. SL boots without any problems and shows 8 GB RAM. But Windows 7 no refuses to boot. So I tried to install Windows Server 64 Bit. No sucess. I tried Vista 64 Bit - no sucess. I even tried Linux 64 Bit - no sucess.
And here are the funny details:
    1. SL works fine with the 8 GB of RAM.
    2. Windows 7 64 Bit refuses to boot with 8 GB of RAM.
    3. Windows 7 64 Bit works stable with 6 GB of RAM.
    4. Windows 7 64 Bit works stable with 4 GB of RAM.
What is the reason? I thought it could be an EFI problem. Just like EFI ist in 32 Bit (but Windows works with 6 GB of RAM). Or do I make a stupid user error???
Should I press a certain key while booting the machine with boot camp? Do I need an EFI patch?
    Please help!
    Robert.

Actually you don't need an EFI64 ROM to support 8 GBs of RAM. That is determined by the bus size and the memory controller. The ROM only determines the maximum amount of RAM that the OS can address. None of the Macs currently in production can support even the maximum supported by the 32-bit kernel. None have a wide enough memory bus. Of course newer models may support larger amounts of RAM when they are released, but for now there's not much need for using the 64-bit kernel except if you are developing 64-bit software and need to test its compatibility with the 64-bit ROM.

  • Z68MA-ED55 + UEFI + Windows 7 64-bit Installation

I've been trying for a few days now to figure out how to install Windows 7 64-bit on a single, fatty 5.5TB GPT partition in UEFI mode for this motherboard while utilizing RAID5 and Intel SRT caching. Here's the scenario:
    1. I have (3) 3TB hard drives that are configured in a RAID5 array giving me approx. 5.5TB's of usable storage.
    2. I have (1) 64GB SSD that I want to use for Intel SRT caching for the above mentioned RAID array.
    3. I want a single, big fat 5.5TB GPT partition for the above mentioned RAID arrary.
    4. I want to install and boot Windows 7 from the above mentioned 5.5TB GPT partition.
The reason for all of this is that Windows 7 64-bit cannot utilize any disk space beyond 2TB on the disk it's installed on.... unless it uses GPT... and you can only boot GPT using UEFI... This motherboard supports UEFI, but provides no details that I can find on how to install Windows 7. I can get into the EFI shell, and dink around, but I cannot browse any mounted drives (example, using simple "ls" command from any drive/path I get the error "ls/dir: cannot open current directory - Not Found Exist status code: Not Found"
I'm decently familiar/comfortable with Linux/DOS/CLI work, but I'm not having any luck browsing any file system I try to mount through the EFI shell.
I know what I'm doing on the RAID side, I can get RAID/SRT/Windows 7 64-bit working with MBR-type partitions and normal BIOS start up. Again, the problem is that that there's no way to access/partition the space after 2TB on the fatty 5.5TB RAID array drive that Windows 7 is installed on.
    SO! Any geniuses out there?

I figured out how to do the GPT part of things with my Z68A-GD80 board, but only in AHCI mode (still pondering RAID mode for SRT caching) I'm hoping it is similar for you:
Make UEFI the first boot device in the main boot order menu.
After the Windows boot DVD is inserted (may need to restart into the BIOS) an EFI boot option will appear under the UEFI boot BBS Priorities submenu. Select it as the first boot device.
Install Windows 64 bit with GPT partitions to 3TB drive.
After it reboots, go back to the UEFI boot BBS Priorities submenu and make EFI Windows Boot Manager the first boot device.
    Boot into Windows.
I may give up on the GPT partitions if I cannot get it to work in RAID mode; Seagate's DiscWizard utility magically allows the remaining space to be formatted as a separate partition for it's drives when they are already formatted as MBR. (But it only works with Seagate drives unless its installer is hacked.) If you ever figure out how to get RAID mode to work with one big GPT partition let me know!

  • Does Win XP 64 bit work well with X-Fi Titanium?

I'm currently using Win XP Pro (32-bit) and I'm thinking of building a new Windows XP 64-bit system.
are there any known problem with Windows XP 64-bit working with a X-Fi Titanium sound card?
(I'm of the option that Vista blocks the installion of unsigned software)

The X-FI Titanium works perfectly with XP X64. Sad that I can't say the same for Windows [email protected]

  • Thief Gold, EAX, windows 7-Works 100%

%Thief Gold, EAX, windows 7-Works 00%9 I just installed Thieft Gold .33 from the Eidos Thief Collection for Windows Vista.
EAX works just fine with the new version of Alchemy.
The game installs to this directory:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Eidos\Thief Gold for 64 bit
    or c:\program files\Eidos\Thief Gold for 32 bit.
you can manually insert the path for Alchemy. Then upon restarting your game, you will be able to select EAX with no problem.
I later added the widescreen resolution fix found here:
    http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/wiki/Thief_Gold
the important thing was to get the game to run normally, then enable EAX to make sure it worked. People often get crashes with multi-core processors and higher end video cards that they dont fix first, and they believe EAX to crash the game too. EAX worked with no problems, then I fixed everything else.

Creative's newest version of Alchemy .4 already has some games "pre configured" in its .ini file. But all of the preconfigurations are for 32 bit operating systems. So you can simply add the game in alchemy from the left to the right side, and there you can edit its registry entry that is "automatically picked up."?
From the Alchemy .ini file for example:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\\Eidos\Hitman Contracts\InstallDir
This is the default option for how the game would install on Vista and Windows 7. If you install the game, your system realizes that you have HITMAN: Contracts and Alchemy uses these settings.
But inside the game you will not be able to check the "USE EAX" checkbox, or it will not stay checked if you do if you are running that same game on a 64 bit operating system.
so you can simply change the key to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Eidos\Hitm an Contracts\InstallDir
And the game worked perfectly. I did patch it to the newest version before configuring anything in its menu. I also altered the Alchemy setting before configuring the game too, thus I had absolutely no problems with EAX.

  • Adobe PDF Printer not working as print driver; 9.5.5 (pro) with Windows 7, 64 bit

I have installed, repaired, uninstalled and re-installed Acrobat Pro 9.5.5 on a newly formatted SSD with Windows 7, 64 bit on my desktop machine. The program was installed from Acrobat Pro 9.0.0 and updated within the program. I have the program also installed on my laptop, and the Adobe PDF Printer driver is working properly on my laptop.
On my desktop with the newly formatted SSD, the Adobe PDF printer driver is not working. Note that I am using the printer driver, and not any pdf creation techniques within MS Office or other programs.
When I go to the Adobe PDF printing preferences on my desktop, I only get a generic, two tab window open. When I print a file to this printer on my desktop machine, I do not get a window opening that asks where to create the pdf or what to name it, and I never see any files created. In MS Word, the Create PDF option under the Acrobat tab works and opens a dialog to ask the name and location to save, and then opens a PDF Maker progress window and properly creates the file. I can also save a file as an .eps or .ps file and use Distiller to create the pdf. However I cannot get the Adobe PDF printer driver in my Devices and Printers to work properly, although it works just fine on my laptop with the same program (Pro 9.5.5) and same Windows version (7, 64 bit).
Repairing, uninstalling and re-installing does not solve the problem. Acrotray.exe *32 process is running. Any ideas on why this won't run properly on my desktop, but will run on a similarly configured laptop?
On my laptop, I get a full, (7) tabl menu with all the normal options:

I found this answer from Deepak Chauhan on another forum, and it solved this problem!
Try this to add Adobe PDF printer manually on Windows 7, and Windows Vista.
If windows 7 is Enterprise or better edition: (Admin rights required)
Start>search for printmanagement.msc and open the print management module
Expand the print server and expand the computer name to see availbale printers, drivers and printer ports.
    - from printers ensure there's no Adobe PDF printer, if there is delete it
    - go to ports and delete the PDF ports (the ones ending in *.pdf)
    - go to drivers and delete the PDF converter.
Take note if any errors occur, but continue with the following steps regardless.
If on windows 7 home edition, just goto start>Devices and Printers and ensure PDF pritner is not listed.
Then open the registry (if any erors deleting these keys happen, see below)
    1: go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Print\Printers
delete any adobe PDF printer subkey present
    2: go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors
delee the PDF port monitor if present
    3: go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers
again delete and pdf printer subkey
If any erros occur, you need to set the owner of the key to the currently logged in admin user, then ensure that user has full control.
Do this by right-click the key and selecting permissions, clicking on advanced, then the owner tab.
Once you've all that has been done, open a command line as administrator.
Copy and pate the following commands in order
    1: net stop spooler
    2: rundll32.exe setupapi.dll,InstallHinfSection AdobePDFPortMonitor 128 C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\Xtras\AdobePDF\AdobePDF.inf
    3: net start spooler
    4:rundll32.exe printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /if /b "Adobe PDF" /f "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\Xtras\AdobePDF\AdobePDF.inf" /r "Documents\*.pdf" /m "Adobe PDF Converter"
That should set back the pdf printer.
This seemed to provide the link that provided the Adobe PDF Settings tab to the Adobe PDF Printing Preferences that was missing!

Hi.  I have a Dell PC running Windows 7 64 bit.  I have the latest version of Adobe Reader,  It worked yesterday.  Today I have job training to do that is due tomorrow morning and I can't open PDF files.  I have to open a guide and read it and take a test tomorrow.  I have deleted and reinstalled the application.  I have rebooted.  I have made sure my PDF's are associated with the program.  Every PDF on my computer won't open and I get the same error message.  It simply says Attempt to access invalid address.  How can I fix this?  Thanks.

    Hi Don,
I have seen this issue fixed for some users by modifying the following registry key:
The key is "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management" MoveImages
Set the key to 1 instead of 0 then reboot the machine.
In case you still face the issue try the following registry key change:
The only thing you have to do is rename the following key at the REGEDIT, and everything will be fine !!
    BEFORE:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\iexplore.exe
    AFTER:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\iexplore.old
Note: Please take a backup of the registry before attempting this change.

  • HP Laserjet P1006 is not working on Windows 7 (64-bit).

I lost my original CD-Driver and I tried to download the CD-Driver on HP website but it doesn't work when I click printing.  It seems that my HP Laserjet P1006 is not working on Windows 7 (64-bit).
Can anyone give me a link that works for installing driver for HP Laserjet P1006 for Windows 7 (64-bit)?
    Thanks for helping!

    Hi @achieverone ,
I can help you with finding the drivers for the Laserjet P1006.
Just to clarify, you were able to install the printer software, but it just isn't printing correct?
Here are the two drivers available for Windows 7 64 bit.
HP LaserJet P1000-P1500 Hostbased Plug and Play Basic Driver.
HP LaserJet P1005/P1006/P1500 Printer Series Full Feature Software and Driver.
Try and print a hardware self test on the printer to find out if it is a hardware or software issue.
Open and close the lid five times quickly. It should print off a page with black lines on it.
Download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. Find and fix common printer problems using HP diagnostic tools for Windows?
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)
If you need further assistance, just let me know.
    Have a great day!

  • Error message: "application.exe has stopped working" under BEX event name on Windows 7 64-bit.

I am trying to run a third party program on my Windows 7 64-bit. It has an executable file.
    1. When I double click on this file (appname.exe), I will see a GUI window.
    2. In this GUI window, I will have to select a dynamic link library file (appDLL.dll) to load into the appname.exe that will run the application. This DLL file is compiled in Visual C++ 2010 Express based on a C source code under the Release Win32

    3. It is supposed to run after step 2. Instead it give the BEX error message saying "appkernel.exe has stop working." There is no online solution at this time when I select that option to search for an online solution.

    Hi Brian,
    Thank you for the reply!
The third party software provider wrote the source code in C. When I compiled this source code, the DLL file will be created in store in the Release folder in the same project directory of the source code.
I just double check my computer, I have the following Visual C++ packages installed on it:
    1. Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable
    2. Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x64)
    3. Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x64 9.0.21022

    12. Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86  Runtime - 10.0.40219

    14. Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1
    15. Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express Prerequisites x64 - ENU
    16. Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2
    17. Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Multi-Targeting Pack
From what I understand the Visual C++ 2008 Runtime is included in the Redistributable package.

    Hello Steve.
You may be having a problem with some extension or plugin that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
If you detect a faulty add-on, you should contact its author for support. You can also search for alternatives. Site filters are relatively common in the add-ons gallery: [http://addons.mozilla.org addons.mozilla.org].
