Diagniostics say everything is fine, but iTunes won't connect to  iStore

Below is the diagnostics info.
I am having the same problem on a Win XP machine, neither can connect even though the diagnostics say I can.
Anyone had any success?

No one seems to be able to help, either.
My scenario:
I have been trying to connect to the iTunes store forever, and every time I do, I get the message: iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. Make sure your internet connection is active and try again.
I moved several months ago and it seems like the store hasn't worked since.
I have tried to troubleshoot myself to avoid bothering anyone else: restarting comp, uninstalling and re-stalling, checking firewalls, diagnostic tests, etc. - nothing has worked.
When I run diagnostics, everything is A-OK as it pertains to the network and iTunes store connections. Here is the summary:

    Problem started when I used Tech Tool Pro 6 to "de-fragment volume". Had to cancel that process before it finished because I ran out of time. Thereafter, when I startup my machine normally, I get the gray Apple logo at first, but it changes to a prohibited symbol (circle with a slash thru it) and hangs.
    When I startup holding the Option key, I can see my internal drive, but I get the same results as above.
    When I startup using the MacBook OSX Install DVD, it does not find my internal drive as possible destination.
    When I startup using the MacBook OSX Install DVD and then run Disk Utility, it finds my drive, allows me to "repair" and says everything is fine.
    When I startup with Command + S, I get a looping error message "errno = 19" and cannot stop it to do anything else.
    When I startup from Disk Warrior v4.4, it does not find my internal drive to do any repairs.
    When I startup from Tech Tool Pro 6 and run the "computer check" diagnostics, everything passes but the Volume Structure, which fails at "Volume Extents (B-tree)." When I use TTP's "Tools" option to run "volume repair" it will show my internal drive and allow me to click the GO button, but nothing happens and nothing changes.
    I have a Time Machine backup on an external USB drive, but for as long as the internal drive doesn't mount, I can't use the backup to restore.

    It's a false report and should be ignored.
    I would not rely on TT as I've already said earlier even before Grant posted similar advice.
    I really think the Rigid Disk Block may be corrupted. This holds the partition map and could prevent a volume from being unmounted. Unfortunately, there is no way to fix that without repartitioning the drive which will remove everything. So, before going down this road I hope you have backups or can make a backup.
    Drive Partition and Format
    1. Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button.  When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.
    5. Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

    Are you using the correct cables.  iPod cables look similar, but are not, as they are 1.1 USB cables, where your iPhone and iPad require a 2.0 USB cable.
    Also, make sure you are not plugging your USB cable into a Hub or keyboard USB port, but one directly on the computer.
    You may want to reset the USB ports, by resetting the SMC and PRAM

    Restore...
    From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.
    There's more to try but let's go a bit at a time.

  • My iTouch 4g isn't recognised by iTunes, computer finds it fine but iTunes won't?

    I have an iTouch 4g and it's worked fine since I got it with iTunes. Just yesterday it suddenly stopped syncing to iTunes. The computer recognises it and pulls up a window asking me what I want to do next, but iTunes just doesn't realise it's there. We have no problems with the computer as far as I can see, but it is a bit slow at the moment. Don't know if that means anything?
    The iTouch is on software 4:1 (October 2010 was the last upgrade) and the iTunes is the most recent upgrade.

    Do you use windows? Try uninstall itunes, restart your computer and then reinstall itunes?

  • Can see Airport Express, but iTunes won't connect and more..

    I'm running Mac OSX 10.4.2 on an Aluminium PowerBook G4, connected to an Airport Extreme Base Station - which can use the internet etc easily. I have an Airport Express, which can be seen & changed in Airport Admin, and can be seen in iTunes - but can not be connected to in iTunes - it tries for about 30 seconds, and then gives up, not even an error message? I'm not sure if it's a related issue, buit an old iBook running OSX 10.3.9, connects to the same Airport Express, no problems. But the PowerBook, whilst it can see the iBook, won't connect to the iBook via Airport - it tells me it is not operational, or something.
    Can anyone think of anything that may fix the problem?

    Is this a new problem on this Powerbook - or has it never worked? While there are many (and some very obscure) causes for this problem, one of the more common causes is firewall software of some sort. This also includes applications designed to monitor outgoing network data (like spyware) on a Mac, like "Little Snitch".

  • HT1212 I have an iphone 3 which has been disabled, I've put it into recovery mode but itunes won't connect to it. I know the password but the device wn't give me the option to add it. What else can I do to enable the device. I can't wipe it from the cloud

    I have an iphone 3G which has been disabled after a child tried to get into it. Itunes will not connect until I have put the passcode in but the device will only enable emergency calls and does not allow a passcode to be put in. I have put it into recovery mode and itunes can't see it. There is currently no SIM card in it and it's not connectng to the wifi so I can't wipe it from the cloud. Any ideas how I can get into it?

    iPhones require a SIM for activation.
    Put the device in DFU mode (google it) and restore via iTunes.

  • Macs fine but PCs won't connect to AEBS - Ideas?

    Just switched out my old Linksys WAP and installed AEBS - all the Macs in my house work great but my Windows XP laptop refuses to connect to the new wireless network.
    It can see the new SSID in the network list but won't connect. Doesn't even get as far as the WPA password prompt so it's not a security issue.
    Anybody got any ideas??

    This may not be the solution to this particular issue, but try it out.
    Some windows systems save network settings based on your SSID (wireless network name). If you're using the same SSID as your previous router and are using a different security method or other different settings, Windows may not connect.
    An easy way to fix these issues is to chance your SSID in your airport base station settings.
    You can also try changing the security method or disabling security.

  • Everything's fine, but iTunes store won't update.

    Hey all,
    I produce a podcast on a weekly basis, and everything in the iTunes store worked beautifully for the first 13 episodes, but the last two episodes haven't shown up in the iTunes store yet (it's been three weeks). I haven't really changed anything else about the feed, so I'm not sure what triggered this problem. The episodes are working fine in my feed (http://www.earstohearpodcast.com/feed), and subscribers are able to download the new episodes in iTunes, but they aren't showing up on my page in the iTunes store.
    I ran my feed through feedvalidator, and it said it was a valid RSS feed. I'm not really sure what else could be the problem, so if anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.

    Don't worry too much. It's not you--it's the iTunes directory. Look at any of your favorite podcasts, and none of them are updated with the latest episode(s) as well.
    I've seen this happen before, and just be patient. It will update once they finish whatever behind-the-scenes stuff their working on, and/or get back from holiday vacations!
    Even the front page of the directory hasn't updated. It changes every Tuesday...but not this past Tuesday.

  • Everything looks ok but itunes won't play

    Everything looks as it should. I select a tune and try to play it... it just stays at the start of the track and doesn't play it although everything indicates that it is. using 8.1 but problem was there before I loaded it - the upgrade hasn't changed anything.

    with those symptoms, it might be a good idea to check in at the Music Store to see if you've somehow ended up with two slightly-differently-named accounts at the Music Store. the email form at the bottom of this FAQ would be the best one to use:

    I have tried 4 days to get iTunes 10.4 working on my Win7 x64 machine.  I purchased a new iPhone4 and after syncing it the first time, I can't connect to the iTunes store.

  • My ipod touch is able to connect to other people's wifi just fine, but it won't connect to the wifi at my house, what can I do?

    I have tried everything I can think of to fix this, there are a couple ipads, computers, and a gaming system that all connect to the internet. But my ipod just wont let me, some help would be much appreciated.

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

  • I just upgraded to firefox 6 and now cannot connect to the internet. IE still works fine but firefox won't connect. Any suggestions on how to get the new firefox to connect to the internet?

    I just upgraded to ff 6.0.1 via an automatic push. Since then, ff hasnt been able to connect to the internet. Error message:
    Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.google.com.Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.google.com.
    IE has no trouble connecting to the internet.

    After upgrading, your firewall may not be recognizing the new Firefox version and is not allowing it access to the internet. On your firewall progam's allowed applications list, remove Firefox, then re-start Firefox, try going to a website, your firewall will detect the new version of Firefox, then give the permissions needed for Firefox to have internet access.

    I have downloads to my apps waiting but when I try to connect to the store, get a message, 'can't connect to iTunes store'.
    Tried to connect on my iPhone4 as there are updates there but the 'update' button doesn't work.

    Thank god there is a glimmer of hope for this. I have the exact same problem. I have vista and it will say "Accessing iTunes Store", and then the apple logo with NOTHING on the screen where the store should be! If i click my apple id up in the corner, after about 3 minutes it will take me to my account but the text will be completely distorted and messed up.
