Diagnostics and Usage Logs

What is the meaning of the following diagnostics and usage log addresses:
appActivationCount
appActiveTime
appBackgroundActiveTime
appLaunchCount
and any other info I may need. I want to be able to breakdown and understand an aggregated log. Some of it seems easy, but just want to be sure and understand it all. Also, is the log for 1 24 hour period? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I got it fixed and reset the Vodafone app giving location permissions after resetting them in settings/general/reset. This had proven the app does not work well without the GPS access to the handset. Will see if it affects battery use over the next few days. Am monitoring battery use and thus far it's working well with heavy initial use and set up.
Lol... I solved the ringer issue by ringing apple to find my hard switch on the side of the phone above the volume switches was on silent.... Dooh!!!! Problem solved!!!

I've a question regarding the "diagnostics and usage" log entries on my new iPhone 5.
Once an Apple employee told me that the folder should be as empty as possible. That is a good sign and means that your phone is ok.
Now I checked my diagnostics and usage folder and found the following:
awdd_2012-10-... entries (9)
log-aggregated-2012-... entries (7)
MobileSMS_2012 (1)
Siri-2012-... entries (8)
stacks-2012... entries (>10)
Can anybody help me with these entries and logs? What do they mean? Do I have a hardware or software problem or is it ok?

Entries in this section are normal and you should not worry about them. Usually there are entries related to when an unexpectedly quits or the memory runs low, etc.
Nothing to worry about. Remember to restart your phone every now an then as a good healthy step to keeping your phone working well! :-)

How can I delete diagnostics and usage data from my Ipod 4.1?

In settings, General, About there is Diagnostics and Usage. I went in there to find many logs, Low Battery, Low Memory logs and Stacks which I don't even know what they are. Is there a way to delete this? Should I ever save any? Are they important? I would appreciate any help anyone can give me. My IPad has very little space left. I have deleted everything I can but notice there are files in Diagnostics and Usage. How can I delete those files to free up space?

By the way, those files in diagnostics and usage are probably not your problem, but the restore is the right step to take to solve your real problem.
The problem is that you likely have corrupt files on your iPad caused likely by suspicious apps. Restoring your iPad from a backup may help. If not, restore as new, then sync your items back to your iPad very carefully and consider removing suspicious apps.
Also check Settings > General > Usage to see if your expectations are met.

Diagnostics and usage - metriclog.anon

I have an Ipad mini and an Iphone 4S. Under Diagnostics and usage, I have files named ...consolidated.metriclog but I now also seem to have a lot named ....consolidated.metriclog.anon, which never contain any data. Can somebody please explain why I now have the second set of usage files.

What I've done now is moved my music folder into a different folder to keep it safe, I've deleted my iTunes library, ie on itunes highlighted all and deleted. Then gone to iTunes media folder and checked they are deleted and they are. Now whatever done is put my music folder back and checked preferences and it says keep a copy of file in iTunes etc. also keep folder organised is on.
So now I have started afresh I have both my music folder and iTunes folder which hold the same songs.
So what do you recommend I should do to be able to delete the music folder and just have one folder of songs?

Hoe do I decode "Diagnostics and Usage Data"?

I have a replacement 5s, a replacement due to my original deciding to reboot itself when I put my finger on the reader to awaken it. I am concerned the replacement is a lemon. For one thing it goes into 3G just sitting there (my wife's 5c indicated LTE all the time and stays there). If I reboot it it comes up in 4G, for a while. It also has problems remmebring blue tooth devices and my home network PW. I looking around the phone for data. soething to analyze, and discovered "Diagnostics and Usage". Listed there is something called "stacks+MobilCal-2013-12-22-1...". That is a very large file that appears to be a crash report. I can't decode it. I am guessing by the date (today, 2013-12-22) something went haywire today. Any way to decode this report?
Is there any way to determine if the replacement is new or refurbished? A refurbised phone, depending upon the original problem, may be less than 100% functional.

Clear Safari, close all apps on the iPad and reboot. Then see if you can connect.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear Cookies and Data.
Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to each app then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If you still can't connect to the internet, you need to do some more troubleshooting with the network connection, but report back with more details if that doesn't work and don't just repeat the question in the text box are that you have to describe the problem. That serves no purpose at all.

You would have to restore the iPad and set it up as new. The data would eventually come back as you use the iPad so you may as well not worry about it. It uses very little space on the iPad.

How much information is Diagnostics and usage supposed to capture?

I think that the log has too much information in it. It list in plain text what apps I've downloaded that day , how many times I've accessed my camera from the lock screen, the number of times I've entered my pass code correct and not. There's lots more too. Basically every app I've purchased, every time I've charged Or turned on this phone has been noted in the logs. Is this expected? Sorry this is my first iPhone. I've already switched from automatically send to don't send.

I'm trying to download an app and it was about 1.28 GB. I did not have enough storage to download it, so I was wondering if there was any way to delete them from my iPad to save some storage.

I have always deleeted itunes downloads (mostly tv shows) from this location:
Settings>General>Usage>Storage
Since the OS upgrade the video section there says "no data". Now I am getting the message that new vidoes can not be downloaded due to lack of storage. I can't figure out how to delete the videos I no longer want on my iPad mini. I have them in my Purchased list. Diagnostics and Usage filling up (60 per day) .synced files

Sixty or so plist.synced files each day are in D&U. Only one app is generating them which is tracking my data usage.
What & why are they?

Nothing of the sort is clear! This doesn't occur on any of my other devices or iOS versions, what does that "clearly" tell you about iPhone5/iOS6?
Thank you, kindly, but you haven't attempted to answer my question and have instead made a sweeping condemnation of an app you don't even know the name of. In your defense, I did misphrase my question so you might have understood it to read that the app was tracking my data usage without my knowledge or consent, which is not the case. The app is intended to track data, and has my consent to do so.

I notice that there are many profile Ids listed some days and crash reports. I would like to expand these reports on my computer to investigate them more. Is there a way?
