Diagnostics in a ipad 3

Hi all is there anyway to run a diagnostic on a ipad 3 having problem charging, thanks in advance

I should add this: 0.03 inches of depth was added after the iPad 2.  But Apple's cases fit all three.  I think other cases will also.

    I had this same issue with the new ipad, I kept getting logs generated that stated low memory.  I am not aware of any problems or issues this created, it was just sort of an informational warning not that there was anything wrong.  To “fix” it I just closed all the apps still in memory by double clicking the home button, holding your finger on one of the apps in the bottom window until they shake then hit the x to close them out of memory.

    It's an Apple SD card reader (purchased the same week in Syracuse,NY) and it worked fine yesterday after part one of a Day of the Dead shoot in central Mexico.
    As a professional journalist I traveled with the iPad and a Nikon D80 and lenses and flash. My MacBook would be addded weight so this application (the iPad) fits the bill.
    I was in Paris for a month in October and shot thousands of photos. Often did not have wireless and used the iPad as a photo safe to store the photos.
    Back in the Paris apartment the Photostream worked great.
    So what gives Apple...I upgrade my Ipad 1 for an Ipad 3 and now it's useless in this application and the new iOS. Was there any warning or information that this would happen? Or did you test the iOs on the iPad 4? Afterall the iPad 3 is, what 5 months old?
    But, and a big BUT Apple, I can buy an iPad 4 and use the thunderbolt SD card reader. Is this how you become a world class company???
    Our next Apple purchase is not going to be that...was going to be an Ipad mini for my wife to use on the road in her job. She travels giving anesthesia.
    We are an Apple family....My first Apple was an Apple II and had a Newtown (that still works).
    And we now have an iPhone, 2 MacBookPros, 2 Apple TVs.
    My other computer is an old PC that works with my professional weather station and also interfaces with my ham radio. While I dislike the stability of Windows the system allows me to tinker and work with other devices.
    How can Apple not recognize that folks do want to do thing the way they have been and also abandon DVD/CD drives from computers yet at the same time Apple will sell you its own DVD/CD drive.
    I have always loved my early AppleII but had to abandon it for writing and editing  (early photo editing and design was still a dream then) because most companies "did not support Apple," I was told by corporate IT people. So a love hate period of using PCs.
    Now Apple does not support users but it will sell us the latest gadget. This is stupid marketing and wrong consumption by America.
    I don't want to trust the Cloud for everything and want the ability to edit and stroe photos with ease and not always reply on wi-fi.
    Maybe I should shell out $69 for tech support.

    first of all you are not addressing apple in these forums. We are all just users like you trying to help eachother out. I can almost guarantee they didn't pull the support for the card reader from ipad 3. As i have a nikon camera and d5000 and a card reader running on ipad 3 and i just did a import from the sd card after I read your comments. It could be a bug within your ipad. Try restarting the ipad, if you have everything back up to icloud do a full reset then restore from icloud.
    Second, going off on a tangent about apple and their business practices, in support forums which are user based, really wont get you much help. We come here to help people like you and there are way to many folks who go out venting and we all heard it before and kinda getting bit tired off it.
    Third, before doing proper diagnostics, rebooting, restoring ipad, using different SD card, try using usb connector directy to the camera, don't assume that apple pulled the plug on it. It could be a bug that slipped through testing however I highly doubt it since its working for me.
    So try rebooting, restoring ipad from icloud (if you have back up), try inserting a different SD card. Since you are photographer you must have more then one. Try using the other connector that comes with camera kit.

    i have tried everything to get my ipad to be recognized in my itunes.  i did all the steps on uninstalling & reinstalling itunes & the files for the mobile devices per apples support suggestions and still nothing.

    It is possible you have a bad cable.  If it is convenient to stop by an Apple Store, their Genius can run diagnostics on your iPad.

  • Why do I have to keep setting up my iPad almost every time I start my iPad?

    Lately-it seems that with greater freaquency my ipad is saying it is not setup, I can't do anything until I reset it all back up. it happens almost everytime i start up now. ARGH! does anyone have answers, it seems to have started after the last update.

    No Problem Demo.. They said to keep trying they would get back to me later this week, she had to talk to the tech people that has a longer history than what she has availabe.. We also ran the diagnostics on the ipad and all is fine with the firmware and the battery.
    One thing that leads me to believe i am locked out of the servers, when i do a restore through itunes I get that little lock in the window just above where it says the servers are unavailable.
    I have also been intouch with verizon and they said they would run some diagnostics on there end and would get back to me, that was 2 weeks ago.
    Thats what I like about apple they're good on the follow up.

  • Typing on iPad Mini is very sluggish after upgrade to iOS7

    After successfully upgrading to iOS7 on my iPad Mini things seemed to work beautifullly until I notice that typing (or even keying in my password on the lock screen...) was very sluggish.  You type a few words and it gets the first four or five letters then pauses for 10 seconds or more before writing the rest of what you had already typed...  It has rendered the iPad Mini nearly unusuable at this point.  Anyone else having this problem?  Anyone know of a fix?

    Ok I update the iPad Mini last night and since then the keyboard is no longer working correctly (The onboard one)
    When you unlock the keyboard it freezes as soon as you press one of the number, you can continue pressing the numbers and all of a sudden 5-7 seconds later it clicks and unlocks.
    Using the keyboard in anything now causes the Keyboard to freeze for 4-7 seconds and then unlock, then freeze again,
    The ipad Mini has nothing on at all so its not apps. It went through fine as well.
    In the Diagnostics of the Ipad Mini, There are loads and loads of errors and all say Keyboard crashed, error. So there is a major fault some where with IOS 7. the Ipad Mini you no longer can use with a keyboard.
    Help apple or any one.
    Im happy to update with some Diag info when im back home.

  • The broken screen of my iPad, which AppleCare thinks is OK

    In the last weeks, many times I were seeing some kind of color banding on the screen of my iPad 2, but I was unable to understand from were it comes from and how to reproduce it...
    Then, last week, it happened that I closed Safari and opened Twitter... and I realized that next to my name I were able to see the address filed of Safari!
    It took many minutes to go away, and it was visible also from other apps.
    After successfully replicate the problem, next day I filled the repair request under warranty, and I even put the links of a couple of photos that showed the problem...
    Shipped it to Apple...
    Guess what?
    Since the incompetent guy who test it was unable to replicate it, they sended me back this junk.

    Before you ask I have put a grey wallpaper only to make a clear photo, of course I don't use it with it; but this overlays are visible also if I put a photo as wallpaper.

    Trust me that is really a pleasure the read the email that says that they ship back the original unit because it fully satisfy Apple specifications.

    - I'm stuck with an iPad with a junk screen, which I simply refuse to use.
    - Apple says this screen it's ok.
    - Someone in Holland (AppleCare Service center for all Europe) is happy because it only took 2 days to close a service request from a (stupid) customer which takes photos of an inexistent problem.
    - The previous repair request (A57285105) is closed without any possibility to take contact and reply.
    - I can't (as today) open another repair request (and this time probably I will enclose in the package a CD with a video)
    - AppleCare phone support refuse to speak with me.
    - If none in Apple admits this shameful error and takes action for a quick fix, I will not get back a (really) working iPad 2 before Christmas.
    ... and so on.
    Really a shame.
    It's also really a shame to remember that once upon a time this company was ruled by a guy who said "We don't ship junk".

    There are some 3rd party repair places that will cost less, however, your Apple warranty will be voided.
    You can take you iPad to an Apple Store & they will provide a replacement iPad. The cost will be about 1/2 the cost of a new iPad if out-of-warranty.
    I've been in the same situation but luckily the Customer Service in Japan where we bought it is really nice (great!) they replaced the ipad with new one without paying any charge.

  • Ipad charger breaking a lot

    I tend to always have my Ipad on charge because what I do causes me to need constant charge, the cord isn't bent on a severe angle and I always pull it out by the connecter not the cord itself and it never changes location. I've spoken to apple online and done diagnostics on my ipad , they say the hardware is fine.
    And I know for a fact I'm not doing anything wrong because I've been doing the exact same thing for 3-4 year with an ipad 1 and I only ever had 2 chargers for that.
    So tell me, what should I do?

    I have this cable durability problem on my iPad 4 too. The included cable only lasted one month, and I was able to get a free replacement from the Apple store under its one-year warranty.
    This contrasted with my old 30-pin connector, with which I have had no issues with for about 5 years.

    I have the same problem since the last update with 2 Ipads.
    I have tried the following;
    Uninstalled and reinstalled Itunes
    Checked to see that the driver MTP  USB Device is installed
    I can see the Ipad in the Devices
    I have a shufffel that I was able to sync.
    I installed I tunes on another computer and could not sync there as well.

  • 4 HP computers, all failures, 3 purchased new in the last 3 years

    I have purchased 3 HP laptops in the last 3 years. All have hardware issues from battery failure (not covered in battery replacement program) to mother board and graphics card complete failures. My DV9000 Pavilion laptop was looked at locally and I was told it would be $499.00 to repair, I purchased it in 2008. A new HP laptop is only $599.00, I contacted HP Canada directly and after an hour, first being told a price of $285.60 which then went to $329.00 and then to being told that HP cannot even repair its own 3 year old product and repair was not possible through HP directly as of May 2011 for my laptop. I was stunned, literally at a loss for words with the service tech over the phone. Even my desktop PC Pavilion 754n required a complete new hard drive as of January this year and it is only 5 years old
    After one hour on the phone today, quotes and expenses of approximately $1000.00 for products 3 years old, I understand the concept of 1 year warranties however there is also a reasonable expectation of reliability. HP has proven unreliable and inefficient in my experience which I am completely willing to document and support.
    My next purchase due to this experience, will not be an HP product of any type, including printers and cameras

  • IPod classic connects but is not detected in Diagnostic as "No iPod, iPhone, or iPad found" will not sync no matter what I try. have reinstalled itunes, changed cords, restarted services. Just started happening very recently. diagnostics detection is key.

    I have a 120gb Classic that has been working, connecting and syncing flawlessly for years. Now it appears that (maybe since an itunes update) my same Windows 7 x64 computer that has not changed other than the occasional iTunes update will not detect my iPod, and therefore will not sync any more.
    The odd thing is that iTunes will sometimes see the iPod (not always), and Windows will also sometime see the iPod. Even when it does, and I click to sync a podcast (or anything else) it appears to go through the #1 and #2 steps and says it is syncing - Do not unplug, then appears to finish, but when you check the ipod after ejecting, nothing has changed. It looks like this has been happening for about a week, but my wife must not have realized that songs and other items were not actually syncing.
    I have tried uninstalling iTunes, downloading the 11.2... version available online now, no help. I have tried resetting the ipod, no help. I have tried changing cables, no help. every time I go through the diagnostics in iTunes, it fails the connectivity test and says "No iPod, IPhone, or iPad found.
    I am so frustrated. I have tried everything I can think of but even though iTunes shows the iPod, it wont sync....

    This issue has been resolved - my Support Advisor, Edgar, was able to discern what was causing the problem.
    It appears that, despite years of never experiencing this, one of the latest ipod updates actually altered my device's personal settings and changed it to "Manual" for all synchronizing; even performcing Factory Restores did not change it back to being automatic.
    My ipod is working as good as ever now thanks to Edgar. If anyone else is having this problem, please make sure you check your device's settings in iTunes and see if "Manual" is checked - even if you never changed the settings yourself and have no reason to suspect that to be the problem, as was the case here. If it is checked - uncheck it to enable automatic syncing.
    So relieved this was not a much more serious problem. I've missed having my music on the go. Thanks, Edgar!

  • My new Nanno 7 is not recognized by itunes. Removed, reinstalled and updated itunes. Iphone 5s and ipad 3 sync w/o problems. Itunes diagnostics says it isn't recognized by itunes. I'd really like to get some music on it.

    My brand new nano 7 is not recognized by iTunes. I ran diagnostics and it stated under "Device Sync Test" that "no device found". My iPhone 5s and ipad 3 all sync without issue.  The online chat with Apple didn't work either.  I have uninstalled, reinstalled iTunes and have the latest update.  Any suggestions?

    If your device is not recognized by iTunes, I would recommend the steps in the article below.  Start with the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver.

    This is extraordinary. I have moved the router and also tried resetting it to its factory strings.  We have had this router for over a year and all our devices have always worked. Now all four laptops will not connect to the internet. Only one oMac and our phones and iPad.
    I have had far more devices running at once before but now all laptops are timing out on connection. Some say this iIP address is already being used but if I manually set to a slightly different IP address it does not help, noir if I manually set to the correct IP address. Why would all our laptops (four) suddenly be unable to connect?
