Diagnostics-Performance No Log win7

I have a issue to retrieve Diagnotics- Performance log in window 7. In Diagnotics-Performance have 0 number of events
I had been try out all the finding in google. I had try:
1. Verified that the diagnostic performance > operational log is enabled
2. Services: ‘Diagnostic Policy Service’ (auto) and ‘Diagnostic service host’ (manual) were running
3. Verified that GPO is not disabled for:
- Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Troubleshooting
- Diagnostics\Windows Boot Performance Diagnostics Computer Configuration\Administrative
Templates\System\Troubleshooting and Diagnostics\Diagnostics: Configuration scenario executing level
4. sfc /scannow
5. window repair tool
6. C:\Windows\System32\winevt - provide full access right
Any one have any idea how to resolve my issue. TQ

Hi,
This log reports potential performance issues with the client by alerting on drivers, services, or applications that experience resource contention or take too long to respond during the "sleep", "resume", and "reboot" operations. so my first thought is
that maybe you don't have issue like these.
Any way, another location you might need to check is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Diagnostics\Performance\
When system boot or shutdown time or something else reach threshold value in this registry entry, a warning\error will be recorded in diagnostics-performance/operational log
As an alternative way, you can also use  sysinternals tools like Process Monitor\Explorer or Windows Performance Toolkit to trace the performance issue

  • Missing boot events on the Diagnostic performance operational log (event-id 100)

I noticed that event (100) is not always reported or not reported at all on several machines and I would like to understand how can I force reporting it.
In addition I would appreciate if you can explain regarding the keys under:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Diagnostics\Performance\Boot]
Things I've already tested on win7:
    1. Verified that the diagnostic performance > operational log is enabled
    2. Services: ‘Diagnostic Policy Service’ (auto) and ‘Diagnostic service host’ (manual) were running
    3. Verified that GPO is not disabled for:
    - Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Troubleshooting
    - Diagnostics\Windows Boot Performance Diagnostics Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Troubleshooting and Diagnostics\Diagnostics: Configuration scenario executing level
    Thanks,

    For keys under [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Diagnostics\Performance\Boot]

Diagnostics-Performance log Event 100 - Critical, Error, or Warning - when and why?
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/48005f5d-5f66-439a-af51-3a2ebb894e31/diagnosticsperformance-log-event-100-critical-error-or-warning-when-and-why?forum=w7itproperf
My understanding to this issue—“event (100) is not always reported or not reported at all on several machines”
is that : this kind event log occurs when an time parameter during the boot process reaches a threshold in the registry key, then a warning, critical or error message will appear in the event viewer. If it doesn’t reach the threshold, then there will be
    no report.

  • Performance issues logging on to Workspace 11.1.2.1

    Hi All,
We have a distributed install of 11.1.2.1 (2 HSS, 3 PLN, 3HFM, 3 Workspace, 2 FDM servers) and facing significant performance issues:
    - Logging on to the Workspace as an external user takes 5 min
    - Logging on to the AAS console as an external user takes over 2 min
    - Opening HBRs in AAS takes a couple of minutes
    - Logging on to HSS as an external user takes over a min
Logging on as a native user takes around 30 seconds.
We have disabled compoments we do not use under the Workspace server properties and applied patch Set Exception (PSE): 13327628 which addressed the following perfomance issues:
    • 12913216 – Intermittent login error is observed while attempting to log into EPM System Workspace. Workspace displays the error message “You must supply a valid User Name and Password to log onto the system.” However, user can log in by clicking OK.
    • 13341789 – Poor login performance (delay of 3-5 minutes) is observed at the first user login if Workspace web application has been inactive for an hour. Subsequent login performance is not impacted.
    • 13388864 – In deployments where a firewall is configured to time out idle applications (for example, after 30 minutes) users can login once, but subsequent login times out.
In Shared Services we have also set Evict Interval and Allowed Idle Connection Time to 5 mins.
Is there anything else we could try to improve performance?
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards
    Seb

If you already have deactivated the non used services from WS, it's weird. As I can see you may be using an external directory for authenticating, check on these.
    * have you checked the response time from the external directory... sometimes for example in Active directory the user hierarchy is too complex to navigate on it. you can use an LDAP tester to see
    * Are you using SSL? if yes, try wtihout SSL
    * For workspace Start the non used services, and activate back the services in the WS to see if there it improves with all the apps up ( this will help you to narrow the debugging)
    * go directly to java based servers, for instance in the shared services server go directly to the port 28080 for interop, instead of going by http server and check if you can login quick or not. This will help you also to isolate the issue (if it's related or not to Workspace).
Hope this help u to narrow your search

  • Diagnostics and Usage Logs

What is the meaning of the following diagnostics and usage log addresses:
    appActivationCount
    appActiveTime
    appBackgroundActiveTime
    appLaunchCount
and any other info I may need. I want to be able to breakdown and understand an aggregated log. Some of it seems easy, but just want to be sure and understand it all. Also, is the log for 1 24 hour period?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Folks
I got it fixed and reset the Vodafone app giving location permissions after resetting them in settings/general/reset. This had proven the app does not work well without the GPS access to the handset. Will see if it affects battery use over the next few days. Am monitoring battery use and thus far it's working well with heavy initial use and set up.
Lol... I solved the ringer issue by ringing apple to find my hard switch on the side of the phone above the volume switches was on silent.... Dooh!!!! Problem solved!!!

  • IPhone 5 / diagnostics and usage log full of entries / is my phone ok!?

    Good morning!
I've a question regarding the "diagnostics and usage" log entries on my new iPhone 5.
Once an Apple employee told me that the folder should be as empty as possible. That is a good sign and means that your phone is ok.
Now I checked my diagnostics and usage folder and found the following:
    awdd_2012-10-... entries (9)
    log-aggregated-2012-... entries (7)
    MobileSMS_2012 (1)
    Siri-2012-... entries (8)
    stacks-2012... entries (>10)
Can anybody help me with these entries and logs? What do they mean? Do I have a hardware or software problem or is it ok?
I'm looking forward to your help!
    Best regards
    Jan

Entries in this section are normal and you should not worry about them. Usually there are entries related to when an unexpectedly quits or the memory runs low, etc.
Nothing to worry about. Remember to restart your phone every now an then as a good healthy step to keeping your phone working well! :-)

  • Any SAP tool that will perform audit logging views of personal data?

    Hi,
I am wondering if there is a SAP tool or a third party tool  that will perform audit logging of end users when viewing personal data?
The audit record should contain: who is viewing, what data is being viewed and the date/time stamp.
This is required to meet data privacy legal requirements.

There is a T-code SM20, through some requirement can be fulfilled.

    HI,
Check the SQL Reporting services account that is used, the one that you supplied when setting up the SQL Reporting Services point in the Configuration Manager 2012 console, it seems to be locked out.
I believe it has been asked once before on the forums as well.

  • Performance issues - Log file parallel write

    Hi there,
Since a few months I have big performance issues with my Oracle 11.2.0.1.0.
If I look in the Enterprise manager (in blocking sessions) I see al lot of "log file paralles writes" and a lot of "log file sync" .
We have configured an active data guard environment and are using ASM.
We are not stressing out the database with heavy queries or commits or something, but sometimes during the day this happens on non specific times...
We've investigated everything (performance to SAN / heavy queries / oracle problems etc etc) and we really don't know what to do anymore so i thought.. let's try a post on the Forum.....
    Perhaps someone had similar things?
    Thanks,
    BR

Redo log file switch has good impact on the performance of the database. Frequent log switches may lead to the slowness of the database . Oracle documents suggests to resize the redolog files so that log switches happen more like every 15-30 min (roughly depending on the architecture and recovery requirements).
AS i check the alertlog file and find that the log are switchinh very fequent which is one of the reason that you are getting checkpoint  not complete message . i have face this issue many times and i generally increase the size of the logfile and set the archive_lag_time parameter as i have suggested above . If you further want to go root cause and more details then above guys will help you more because i don't have much experience in database tunning . If you looking for aworkarounf then you must go through it .
    Good Luck

  • SQL Server 2008R2 vs 2012 OLTP performance difference - log flushes size different

    Hi all,
I'm doing some performance test against 2 identical virtual machine (each VM has the same virtual resources and use the same physical hardware).
The 1° VM has Windows Server 2008R2 and SQL Server 2008R2 Standard Edition
the 2° VM has Windows Server 2012R2 and SQL Server 2012 SP2 + CU1 Standard Edition
I'm using hammerDB (http://hammerora.sourceforge.net/) has benchmark tool to simulate TPC-C test.
I've noticed a significative performance difference between SQL2008R2 and SQL2012, 2008R2 does perform better. Let's explain what I've found:
I use a third VM as client where HammerDB software is installed, I run the test against the two SQL Servers (one server at a time), in SQL2008R2 I reach an higher number of transaction per minutes.
HammerDB creates a database on each database server (so the database are identical except for the compatibility level), and then HammerDB execute a sequence of query (insert-update) simulating the TPC-C standard, the sequence is identical on both servers.
Using perfmon on the two servers I've found a very interesting thing:
In the disk used by the hammerDB database's log (I use separate disk for data and log) I've monitored the Avg. Disk Bytes/Write and I've noticed tha the SQL2012 writes to the log with smaller packet (let's say an average of 3k against an average of 5k written
    by the SQL 2008R2).
I've also checked the value of Log flushes / sec on both servers and noticed that SQL2012 do, on average, more log flushes per second, so more log flushes of less bytes...
I've searched for any documented difference in the way log buffers are flushed to disk between 2008r2 and 2012 but found no difference.
Anyone can piont me in the correct direction?

    Andrea,
    1) first of all fn_db_log exposes a lot of fields that do not exist in SQL2008R2
This is correct, though I can't elaborate as I do not know how/why the changes were made.
    2) for the same DML or DDL the number of log record generated are different
I thought as much (but didn't know the workload).
I would like to read and to study what this changes are! Have you some usefu link to interals docs?
Unfortunately I cannot offer anything as the function used is currently undocumented and there are no published papers or documentation by MS on reading log records/why/how. I would assume this to all be NDA information by Microsoft.
Sorry I can't be of more help, but you at least know that the different versions do have behavior changes.

  • Performance Effects of Win7 Install on MBP Dual i7?

I do processor, hard-drive, and RAM intensive audio production with Logic Pro 9. Is installing Win7 with Boot Camp on my Mid-2010 MBP Dual i7/4GB going to introduce any performance changes? (I've already done it and I feel like performance is lacking on the Mac side...)

Then it would be what happens with your hybred.
Yes, HFS and NTFS handle things differently. That is or should not be an issue.
Apple firmware or Seagate's that is customized to use an SSD+mechanical drive.
Adding Windows, adding the Master Boot Record as more than a place-holder.
They are just partitions. And whether you use Base2 500GB = 465GB or Apple math of abandoning 1024 for 1000 doesn't matter.
Windows 7 64-bit needs 40-60GB though, higher number to operate properly and have room for cache, for SP1+ updates and for some data and applications, though the core of Windows 7 is still around 20GB, there are page, hibernation, restore points and others that are needed.

  • RV180 Degrading Performance & Error Logs

    Firmware version 1.0.5.4
Started having poor networking performance a few days ago and noticed that there were numerous error logs that used to never happen (or at least I don't ever remember there being any).
Backed up settings and performed a total reset of the RSV180.  Issue still there after the reset.  Anyone have ideas on what might be causing this?  I've attached the error log.

Hi, I was having the same problem, but i used to have rv016 and i change it to the rv180 because we change isp provider. Now we have 200mb symetric fiber, and the rv016 cannot handle that speed.
I try the same things that you comment. I analyse the rv016 firewall that i used to have and i saw a rule that rv180 does not have by default.
Block Wan to Lan traffic Port: Any Source: Any Destination: Any
    Firmware: 1.0.2.6
I have the QOS enabled without any rule configured. 2 Vlans without intervlan routing, forwarded ports, etc.
It increase to my isp provided speed, obviously you have to arrange the rule to be at the bottom if you forward any port.
I hope this helps you too.

  • Question about evictor, application performance, and log growth

    Hello,
I've got an application that using two BDB environments, one with critical data and one with data that can be reconstructed, just for the sake of backup convenience. For a while, I was getting OutOfMemoryErrors with increasing frequency. This caused the app to crash without closing the databases or the environment until the recovery time was around 30 minutes. After reading through many of the posts here and trying various workarounds, I got to a state where that stopped happening. I think that what did that fixed is was decreased the cache sizes.
Then, I was seeing what appeared to be evictor deadlocks. The application would hang for thirty minutes before a monitoring script that I've got would detect that no work was being done and would restart the application. Another round of searching ensued and I seem to have gotten it to a state where it doesn't run out of memory or deadlock anymore.
After getting rid of all these issues and letting it run for four or five days, the size of one of the critical BDB environment was 550GB. Since it was almost filling the drive, I moved it aside and created a new BDB for the app to use. Now, I'm trying to figure out what happened. It looks like the BDB contains about 15G of actual data.
It seems like everything starts out fine and then, somehow, it starts to collapse under the weight of itself. I'd like to figure out what type of abuse I may be guilty of that could cause this.
Here's a little bit about my application:
    First (critical) BDB environment:
    - add only, no deletes
    - two databases
    - average data sizes are 1k and 11k respectively
    - average key sizes are around 80 and 16 bytes respectively
    - almost no locality of reference to access pattern in either
    - minimal lookups, mostly used as an archive
    - cache size is 1MB
    - 8 threads reading/writing, 40 threads reading only
    Second (reconstructable) BDB environment:
    - six databases
    - five databases are mostly add with purges of two-week-old data
    - one database has frequent adds and deletes
    - lots of lookups, things are likely to be looked up shortly after they're added
    - cache size is 64MB
    - 40 threads reading/writing
    On both environments,I've set je.evictor.forcedYield=true.
    I'm running the JVM with:
    -Xmx1800m
    -Dje.adler32.chunkSize=8192
    -XX:+UseMembar
    JVM version is:
    java version "1.6.0_01"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_01-b06)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 1.6.0_01-b06, mixed mode)
    BDB version is 3.2.23
    OS/Kernel is:
    Linux app2 2.6.9-42.0.10.ELsmp #1 SMP Fri Feb 16 17:17:21 EST 2007 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
    So, my question is:
What could cause the critical database (especially with no deletes) to grow to 550GB when there's only 15GB of data in it? It was my understanding that the cleaner should take care of any unused log file cruft. It seems like the log files grow faster as the performance gets worse. I have no idea which is the cause or the effect.
And, I guess the real question is how can I prevent this in the future?
    Thanks,
    -Justin

For the record, the problem was that the user's cache size was too small for the size of the database thereby creating a large number of records in the log when eviction of dirty records occurred. The cleaner was unable to keep up with the log load.
Note to readers: eviction of dirty records causes records to be written to the log. JE has to evict to somewhere and the log is what it uses.

  • How can I perform data logging for a specific time??

    hello everyone,
I am quite new in labview and I have a basic question regarding data logging. Currently I am using a cRIO9074 and doing some data logging for my test. The data logging it self works ok so far.
But my problem is I would like to write my datas in a text file either for a specific time interval (ex)10 seconds) or for a specific amounts of data (ex)500 Samples). Can anyone give me some help regarding my problem?? Attached you can find my RT.vi
    I would appreciate for anyhelp!

Run your loggging program for that time. When your program terminates then it will write all the logged data so far in text file.
Kudos are always welcome if you got solution to some extent.
I need my difficulties because they are necessary to enjoy my success.

Donna, I wouldn't worry that Rasman (the Remote Access Connection Manager service) takes 17 seconds to shut down. And certainly the 0.095 seconds taken by the Usbehci.sys driver is inconsequential.
My Event Viewer is filled with stuff like this. Most users don't know to look here. Best to ignore it.
Pay more attention to what's in the Application and System logs under Windows Logs.
Hope I sent the right info this time.
In the future, leave out the stuff beginning with the line..
