Dial tone after first two digits are dialed

I was just made aware that one of our sites when dialing out (local, LD, TF, etc) receives dial tone after dialing the first two digits of any number.  They can continue to dial the number and will call out.  I am trying to understand where the dial tone is coming from after the 2nd digit is dialed.  Any idea's?

I absolutely agree with Aaron's statement that ALL route patterns need to have the 'provide outside dial tone' checked on all applicable route patterns.  I would also like to note that any dial plan overlap with those route patterns would also cause delay in secondary dial tone.
For example if you dial 9 to get out and a dial-able extension gets added accidentally to a phone that also starts with a 9, that could cause similar issues.
So after checking route patterns first and if all that looks correct, I recommend Call Routing -> Route Plan Report, to search for ALL numbers that start with your outside access code.

  • Making first two digits of all cells increment one unit

    hi friends
    i am not expert in MS Excel & i need an urgent help.
    i had created a long excel sheet in Excel 2013 which i paste a part of that sheet here:
    the list is very long.
    now for some reasons, i have to edit this sheet so that in all cells, the first two digits from left increment one unit, as i have manually done that in the following figure. ( note: i don't want the color get read. i changed the color only to better view)
    the problem is that i don't do that manually because there are hundreds of cells & that takes long time.
    please introduce me all the methods which i can do that at once. (the format of all cells is text).
    really thanks in advanced

    Use this formula, starting in row 1 and copy down. Copy the result, use paste special to paste as Values over column A. Delete the formula.
    =TEXT(LEFT(A1,2)+1,"00")&MID(A1,3,99)
    cheers, teylyn

  • To skip the first two Digits of the Char in Query

    Iam using County code which is the attribute of Vendor in free-chars of my query. In back-end iam doing some enhancements for this county code and populating the county codes values with region. (For example if the country code value is 021 in back end iam populating by concatenating with region value. so the value in the back-end is 05021.)
    When i run the query the key of county code value i see is 05021. But i need to skip the first two digits in county code and should display in the result. Is there any way to skip the first two digits for the county code values.
    Thanks in Advance

  • PAP2T is Droppiing DIal Tone after around 1 hour when connected to D-Link DSL-504G

    I have recently changed my router to a D-Link DSL-504G and now my PAP2T looses dial tone randomly but usually after 15 -60 mins of use.  It never comes back on unless I reset the router and PAP2T.  Then it does the same.
    I have an external static IP address (ISP) I have a static IP address for my router. I have made a internal static IP address for the PAP2T. I have port forwarded as per my SIP providers instructions (maybe have made an error here?).
    I have called D-Link and they don't have a clue. I have upgraded the D-Link to the latest firmware. I have NOT upgraded the PAP2T as it used to work wit h my other router. (Not available anymore)
    Is this a configuration problem on the D-Link or is it just incompatible?

    Hello,
    if you have forwarded SIP ports (5060 and 5061 by default) make sure you also forward the RTP port range (16384-16482). The loss of the dialtone appears to be tight to loss of the registration - which can be related to dead/wrong conntrack entry somewhere on the way between you and your VoIP provider.
    Next time you loose the tone try to change "SIP Port" on the line in trouble from 5060 (5061) to something (exotix) else, like 6050 (6051).
    You may also consider to completely cancel the port forwarding and use the NAT keeplive ( $INFO or $NOTIFY) every 5 or so minutes (300s) to keep the NAT alive between the $REGISTER requests (which are every 3600s by default AFAIK)

  • An incoming call from VoIP. The SPA122 generate Dial Tone after the far end hung up rather busy tone.

    Hi All!
    I have a problem with the SPA122 telephony adapter, uncorrectly process the subscriber signaling at the end of the call.
    1) Outbound call from FXS port SPA122 . When a remote caller hangs up first , the subscriber SPA122 Reorder Tone played with a delay specified in the Reorder Delay. This circuit is working properly.
    2 ) Incoming call from VoIP to the SPA122. When a remote caller hangs up first , subscriber on the FXS port of the SPA122 hears silence ~ 3-4 seconds , then SPA122 plays Dial Tone, as if he had just picked up the phone and he 's going to call . No signal lights out (Busy Tone or Reorder Tone) will not play .
    Config is attached.
    Model: SPA122, LAN, 2 FXS
    Hardware Version: 1.0.0 Boot Version: 1.0.1 (Oct 6 2011 - 20:04:00)
    Firmware Version: 1.3.2-XU (014) Jul 2 2013
    Recovery Firmware: 1.0.2 (001)
    WAN MAC Address: 6C:20:56:55:3A:B6
    Host Name: SPA122
    Domain Name: (none)
    Serial Number: CCQ16450LG3
    However, other VoIP terminals registered to Huawei, including older versions of the Linksys SPA2102 work in these scenarios correctly.
    Where to kick it?

    [2] is misconfiguration on your's side. You have CPC turned on, but no CPC capable device. Set CPC Duration to zero to turn off CPC.
    By the way, wrong forum for your question. You should consider to move it to space.

  • Need second dial tone after dialing 9

    Hello, I am trying to configure CCM so when user picks up his phone and dials 9 he is provided with a second dial tone. Usually this is a feature provided by the local PBX but I wanted to know if I can do this on the CCM.

    Hi Farid,
    Check your 9@ Route Patterns for this setting;
    Provide Outside Dial Tone
    Check this check box to provide outside dial tone. To route the call in the network, leave the check box unchecked.
    From this CCM 4.1.3 doc;

  • HomeHub - No landline dial tone after a few hours.

    Hi Guys,
    I have an odd problem with my HomeHub & Phone.
    It seems every few hours my hub phone stops picking up the landline dial tone, if I reset the HomeHub then the dial tone comes back.
    While the HomeHub is not picking up a dial tone it (the HubPhone) will ring when people call, although i'm not sure at this point if I can hear people on the other end of the line as I have only been calling myself to test it.
    If I plug an ordinary landline phone into the HomeHub it also gets no dial tone, if I plug the ordinary phone directly into the landline I get a dial tone and can make calls as normal.
    So that leads me to believe something is not right with my HomeHub.
    Does anybody have any ideas as to what the problem could be before I ask for the Hub to be changed?, i've only had it a week so I would have to be unlucky to get a faulty one.
    I did originally post this issue in the 'phones' section until I knew the issue was with my Hub.
    Thanks

    Hi guys,
    If you haven't already given this a go, try power-cycling the Hub, and while the Hub is restarting power-cycle the Hub Phone as well.
    dallaway, can you try using a different handset as Burge did (it'll give an indication as to whether the Hub handset is faulty or not).
    If this problem continues let us know.

  • List files in numeric order past the first two digits

    I scanned docs onto a usb stick & saved as pdf files using an 8 digit date.  When I go to open the files they are only in order for the first 2 digits.  How can I get adobe to put them in order using all 8 digits so that they are listed in date order including day & year?

    The OS won't sort by date like that. If you look, it IS sorting "numerically" as the "dates" are in order numerically from smallest to largest.
    What I do to sort by date is use this format "YYYYMMDD"

    I purchased the fifth season of Breaking Bad from iTunes, and now the first two episodes that used to be there are gone?  What happened?

    You need to download the videos while still still connected to the internet. Once you are on the plane, you no longer have an internet connection and consequently cannot access the servers to get the files.

  • First two digits

    Hi there!
    I manage a directory of former students of my school.
    Users who want to register must indicate in the form the year
    they entered the school.
    Alas, some of them enter bad years, like "0972" instead of
    "1972" or "0674" instead of "1974" !!!
    Inside a general Validation function, I already have an Array
    using different validating functions (one for each Field) into
    which I use "push" to enumerate different mistakes and prevent them
    with warnings and disabling of the Register Button. Like this one:
    validatePromo = function () {
    if (_root.promoField.length<1) {
    errors.push("- You MUST indicate the year you entered the
    school.");
    if (_root. promoField.length<4) {
    errors.push("- Year must be four digits long.");
    if (promotion<1925) {
    errors.push("- Enter 1925 as promotion year.");
    What I don't know is how to write the if statement to force
    user to begin the year string with 19 or 20.
    Could you please tell me ?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Regards

    Probably its just better to check if the year is between 1900

    You are right. The idea is to get a list of errors.
    And when the list is empty, the register button is activated.
    I gave your afore mentioned solution a try.
    I voluntarily entered wrong dates like, for example, "0674".
    I didn't get the century error ("- Century range error.")
    listed... even if I included
    checkCentury();
    in the list of the functions to be run inside my general
    validateForm function...
    Any clue?

  • Fax/no dial tone

    Hi
    I have been trying to send a fax for the first time on my G4.
    I have followed the help that is available on the Mac website and have even called technical support who didn't do very much except e-mail me some information available on the suport website!
    I am connected to the internet (broadband) via a usb modem which only reads digital signals, and the connection is running through ethernet adaptor in my network settings.
    I have a broadband filter supplying the modem at the phone socket which also has a separate branch for my phone line.
    I got a regular phone cable (one end fits into the phone socket and has smaller fitting on the other end) and I first tried sending a fax via the phone branch on my filter and the internal modem slot on my Mac and after the system tried to send the fax, it told me that there was no dial tone.
    Next, i checked that the phone cable worked (which it did) and tried to go direct between the internal modem slot and the phone socket with the same result as before. I only have one phone socket and no answer machine so I dont think anything is interrupting the analouge signal.
    Has this happen to anybody else? Can anyone help me?
    It would really help me ouy as I dont really know what else I can do and technical support hasn't really helped!
    Thanks

    6. Many voicemail systems use a "stutter" dial tone or beeping when you pick up the phone to indicate that you have voicemail waiting. These unexpected sounds can make the modem think there is no dial tone.
    7. In extreme case, your modem may not be designed for the phone system in the country in which you are trying to use it."

    You can also run into problems with dial tones overseas. Your computer may not recognize the dial tone of the country you are in as a "dial tone." Depending on the modem software you are using, you might need to put a check in the Ignore Dialtone checkbox in your modem software setup window.
    What about digital telephone systems?
    Modems communicate using analog or sound signals while many new telephone systems use digital signal processing. Digital systems are unable to process analog signals, making it impossible for modems to communicate.

  • Upgraded to 10.3.9 and now modem won't recognize dial tone or connect 2 isp

    Hello,
    My ibook was erased completely. SO, I installed 10.3.5 fresh. Then I verified permissions and installed the 10.3.9 update which is what I am using now. I tried to enter my internet connection settings (username, pass, phone number provider,etc).
    When I press dial, I listened to the modem to see if it connects. It just dials VERY loudly and the dial tone(sounds really low) ignores the dialing and is still there(but you can hardly hear it). I tried changing the setting from tone to pulse dialing and it dialed and got the modem connecting sound but after two minutes of sound, it disconnects and says verify your modem settings and try again. So it gets to the Isp using pulse and the modem noise from the isp is going on and on but then disconnects, it never catches the isp. It doesn't even dial correctly using tone dialing. The dialing is Loud as I don't know what, but the dial tone seems so low on the computer, it seems as though the computer cannot hear the modem connecting to the isp so it never connects. I don't know.
    I was wondering if there was an update for the modem or firmware update or what because I cant get it to logon. All passwords are correct because I am using my 12 in ibook with dual usb and the internet connection itself works fine.
    Any suggestions? (I tried to use it changing the script to v.92 , v.90 or v.34)

    Hi emeraldcleopatra,
    Why not mimic the settings you have for your 12" iBook that connects, trying the same for the one that doesn't and checking each setting that you have played around with.
    See if that works.

  • Secondary dial tone on UCM 8.6

    Getting secondary dial tone after the second & third digits, pretty sure it has to do with the 911 route pattern, how can i fix this? Should i make it a translation pattern? Have checked all route patterns and all those have Provide Outside Dial tone checked.

    This topic has been discussed plenty of times before, please search CSC for answers before posting.
    The cause for this is overlapping in your dial plan, unless every single option after the first digit has the provide secondary dial tone (and that means, every single DN or pattern in your dial plan), you won't get it there. Look at overlapping in your dial plan and fix that overlapping to get it at the right time.

  • Internal modem/fax: no dial tone

    Hi folks,
    Yes, another 'no dial tone' problem
    I have a 20" iMac G5 running 10.4.8 in the U.K. that seems unable to make a connection via it's internal modem to the internet or dial out to send a fax. Whenever it tries to make a connection it will eventually timeout after ~10 seconds claiming there is no dial tone - there is a dial tone on the line however. I've had a look through other posts mentioning things like this but there doesn't really seem to be any solutions out there that I can see. After just going out to Kinkos to send a fax for the princely sum of £8 (~$16) I'd like to finally get this flippin' thing working!
    The following things have been tried:
    - The modem has been connected to a regular phone line (connected telephones have a normal steady dial tone, no answerphone tone you can get with BTs 1571 service in the UK)
    - The modem has been connected to an active DSL phone line via the filtered phone socket
    - Different phone cables have been tried
    - A different user account behave exactly the same
    If it makes any difference, this iMac was originally bought in Switzerland. The international preferences have been corrected to make the iMac think it is London. I've never been able to get the modem to work, so I'm not sure if the modem is at fault, or if it's an OS X problem...
    If anyone has any ideas/suggestions, I'm willing to try anything.
    Cheers.
