Dial-up connection for Qosmio F60/05E Notebook

I need dial-up connection.
What external modem will work with Qosmio F60/05E laptop running Windows7?
Thereis no socket for phone cable, no dial-up modem built inside this Toshiba laptop.

Visit your local dealer and buy newest external dial-up modem compatible with Win7 64bit.
I presume all of them should work properly. Just be sure they are supported for 32/64bit operating systems.

    Hi
New notebooks are offered without recovery discs but with HDD recovery option. How to install OS again using HDD recovery option you can find on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm
After finishing clean OS please create recovery discs using preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator. These discs can be used if HDD recovery option will not work for some reason.

I have dial up connection for my internet  What equipment do I need to be able to watch Netflix on my TV?

First need would be a high speed Internet connection, such as Cable, DSL or Fibre service. Dial-up has nowhere near the capacity to provide Netflix service.

  • Car Charger for Qosmio F60

    Hi,
Is there a car charger available for the F60 laptop? I am having trouble finding one.
    Thanks

    Hi Ivan25,
Unfortunately the F60 Voltage is 19v @ 4.74amps which is higher than a normal notebook and as such I don't think a generic universal charger would work.
I suspect the charger would need to be some sort of an inverter to convert the normal car 12v to the required voltage.
    Thanks anyway

  • E71x Dial-up connection for internet access on ph...

When I lived in Africa I would use either google talk or skype to speak with my family back in the States. Wifi was extremely rare especially in my area so I had to connect via a dial-up connection. When I bought my E71x, I installed "Fring" on it (an amazing app) and I am able to call and speak to someone on google talk or skype over my phone. My question is, how do I setup a dialup access point for my cell phone so that I can access the internet and google talk/skype by that connection? Thanks, Joshua

I don't use either Fring or Skype in my handset, I use a program called truphone from www.truphone.com and the network settings enable you to use it via 3G GPRS or WiFi.
You should check with your network operator that this is permitted, as most see VoIP services as revenue loss and will disable the ports or charge extra for the service.
    Shunts...
I will mostly be communicating with a Nokia E72 Zodium Black
Nokia E72-1 with Vr 051.018.207.04 Software
If this post helped... Add some kudos!!

  • Qosmio F60-00Y slow/laggish

    Hello,
I've got a Qosmio F60-00Y notebook which is generally very fast but yesterday night at around 10:30-11:00 PM (16th September Australian Eastern Standard Time) I noticed that it was lagging - scrolling on Firefox was 'delayed' rather than smooth, so I'd scroll down and Firefox would sort of freeze for a few seconds and then I'd be down the page accordingly.
I've done a number of things:
-taken the battery out and put it back in
    -updated BIOS
    -vacuumed the outside vents
    -restarted numerous times
    -malware/spyware/virus checks
    -uninstalled Firefox
All of this has seemed to improve it slightly but it's still not as fast as it was before. I uninstalled Firefox because I remembered that it had updated yesterday - I'm not sure the exact time and installed Google Chrome which is quicker, but the other applications such as Windows Media Centre are still quite slow. Even minesweeper lags slightly.
    Processor: Intel i7 2.67GHz
    RAM: 4 GB (2.98 usable)
    OS: Windows 7 32-bit
Fan speed is a constant 60-70% according to Health Monitor, I don't know if that's normal.
It takes longer to shut down and boot up than it used to, about a minute to boot up and then considerably longer than usual to log in and load all the things I have on start up, which isn't a lot.
Applications take longer to load up and lag, even when I right click on some things it lags which I've never had.
I've got no clue whether it's hardware or software. I tried the vents because I hadn't done that in a while and it gets a bit dusty as I don't move it much. The manual recommends cleaning the cooling system every few months, should I try that?
    Thanks.

    Hi buddy,
Of course you can use this complete backup file as well but its only useful if you didnt have this problem at the time you created complete backup file because this could be a software issue.
In worst case you must do a recovery installation (factory settings). This would wipe the whole HDD but so you can make sure if its a hardware issue or not.

  • Want to disable/"grey out" dial-up connection "settings" button in the "connections" tab of Internet Options

Hi, I'm looking to "grey out" a dial-up connection for some users in workplace, so that they are forced to use our VPN client in order to access the web. Does anyone know if this is possible?
I know you can disable all settings on that tab using local group policy, (e.g. Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer) but I only want to disable a specific dial-up connection (for usb 3G modems).
I've read of various IE settings being locked down in the registry here, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions, but havent seen the settings I want.
The actual connection is visible here, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Connections, I just cant figure out how to grey it out. Any ideas? Thanks!

  • Dial up connection possible with airport?

Hello, I have a dial up connection for my desktop and am considering buying an airport express so that my laptop can connect with the dial up connection (and I won't have to pay for another phone line) is this the way it works?
    Thanks,
    Ben

You can set-up internet sharing on the desktop and both computers can share the same connection. It is however quite a complicated set-up, and would be very slow if both computers try to access the internet at the same time.
If you don't need them to both connect at the same time why not just connect both modems to the same line ?

  • Qosmio F60-130 - can't find any drivers for it

    Hi all
I have an issue with my Laptop Toshiba Qosmio F60-130 about the DVD driver because my laptop cant read the DVDs. So I suggest to go and download the driver and re-install it but I didnt find it.
Even the F60-130 cant find it between the models here in Toshiba support and that was so weird. Another issue was relating to my keyboard. Some keys stopped working probably and I cant find the keyboard driver to re-install it again.
So is there anyone can help me to solve these issues or tell me at least where I can find drivers for my notebook model.
    Thanks

I really dont understand why you cannot find your notebook model on Toshiba drivers download page - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
    Product type > Notebok
    Family > Qosmio
Product series > Qosmio F Series
    Model > Qosmio F60
    Short Model No > PQF65E
    It is definitely there.
Back to your issues. If your notebook cannot read DVD medias, even original DVD movies I presume there is some problem with lens. Either it is dirty or it cannot be calibrated properly.
Try to clean the lens up.
Keyboard issue there is no some special keyboard driver. Keyboard uses standard Microsoft driver and there is nothing you can download. It can be that keyboard is defective and must be exchanged.

  • Qosmio F60- Randomly freezes for about one second

    Hi,
I have a qosmio F60, and recently i've been having random freezes even while typing atm.
So, my notebook freezes for a second every now and then and it's getting really annoying. It does so no matter what i'm doing...
I restored the pc to factory settings and updated all the drivers but still i get this annoying problem...
    Any help would be appreciated.
I figured the problem is a *SUDDEN FPS DROP*...save me -.- pls

    > I restored the pc to factory settings and updated all the drivers but still i get this annoying problem...
Hmmm..... why to update ALL drivers if you dont know why this happen?
You must restore notebook to factory settings, open notepad and test it. can you confirm that this happen immediately after notebook restore to factory settings?
It is not easy to assist with such issues. We dont know which stuff is installed on your notebook, which additional (third part software) applications are installed, which background processes are active, how your OS is configured and so on.
In my opinion some background activity is responsible for this. it can be Microsoft updates installation if you have set it to option automatically. It can also be some antivirus scanning activities. Who knows?
Try to change OS settings and OS configuration.

  • Qosmio F60-11F - Drivers for Windows 7 32bit

    Hi .
I have Qosmio F60-11F and I install windows 7 ultimate 32bit , and I am facing a problem with all drivers.
I search in support driver section in site of Toshiba, but I found only bluetooth, also I need power managment for Windows 7 32bit.
    thanx

    Hey,
As far as I know Qosmio F60 is preinstalled with Windows 7 64bit...
That means you have installed 32bit version of Windows 7 but why? Normally 64bit OS is the future and supports only 4GB or more RAM. 32bit is pretty outdated for such a new high performance notebook
I think this is the reason why you cant get all drivers on official Toshiba page because its designed for 64bit OS only
If you really want 32bit you must search for drivers yourself on external websites.

  • Re: Qosmio F60-L10 - Do I need an extra antenna for TV tuner?

    Hi,
i have an question for the Tv-Tuner of the model Qosmio F60-10L. Do I need to connect an extra DVBT antenna or can I watch TV without to connect extra periphery?
    Thanks

    Hi zero82,
I have checked the specifications on the Toshiba website about Qosmio F60 and founded an interesting information about integrated TV Tuner that should answer your question:
+Toshiba laptops equipped with a DVB-T/analog Hybrid TV Tuner are ready to receive digital or analog TV channels wherever you want. The most popular TV broadcasting formats are supported. *The compact TV Tuner is simply integrated and additional power supply or external antenna is not required.* The comprehensive software package offers an electronic program guide, time-shift recording, videotext, various recording and replay functions to enhance your mobile TV experience.+

  • I have a dial up connection and I'm looking for a download accerator that will automatically start when the download(update) starts.

I have a dial up connection. When I get a program update that
may be 100M in size it can take a lot of time. I'm looking for a
download accelerator program that will automatically start in
this kind of situation. I know there are programs that if you
know the site and the name of the download you want, you put
this info in and the accelerator program works. But there is
no way that I can figure to put this info in when a program
tells me an update is available and then starts a 7hr download.

That's the size of Firefox Setup 6.0.2.exe, which I started to download but figured there had to be more.
So, you're saying that once that downloads and you run it, there's nothing else to get online? I could run Firefox Setup 6.0.2.exe successfully while not connected to the Internet?
