Dialers from the outside hear the dial tone

Our gateway is connected to the PSTN with a PRI line. Eveything works fine from the inside. We can call outside but when the outside calls us from these line they hear a dial-tone. Why can this happen?

A key concept is that a single phone call through a voice gateway has two call legs, one inbound and one outbound, and each leg matches a dial-peer.
Outbound are the easiest to understand because they operate alot like route statements do to the IP data world; they tell the call/packet where to go. But inbound are important, too, because they instruct the VG on how to receive calls. Alot of VG get by using the (hidden) default dial-peer to match incoming calls, but in some cases, like yours, certain commands must be specified.
The "incoming called-number ." command is used to match the incoming calls to that dial-peer. The 'direct-inward-dial' command *should* eliminate that dialtone your caller hear. And these need to be applied to a pots dial-peer because the incoming call is coming in on a POTS pri.

Of course, I can hear the DTMF dial tones when I dial the number from the touch screen.
But, I need the E7 to send dial tones when I call a contact (hence I don't dial from the touch screen). I need that because I'm using a calling card which needs the dial tones to be sent.
It works like this:
In the contact details I enter a long number, with pauses, like:
18001231234p09876543p011392109876
where the 1st numer calls the calling-card number, the 2nd is the pin, the 3rd is the international number I'm calling.
Of corse, when I call that long number (which is a contact) the carrier needs to "hear" the dial tones.
Hence, the question in the subject line.
P.S. If there is a better way to use calling cards, pls let me know.

I think I was wrong. After trial and re-trials I see the E7 actually sends out the dial tones.
Well, I don't know why it did not work at first. Now it's ok.

Hi all.
I'm thinking of buying a Nokia 1650, but first I need to know whether or not there are any metal parts on the outside of the phone (for skin allergy reasons).
I can't tell from the pictures whether the shiny parts on the front are in fact metal or just plastic that looks like metal.
Can anybody who owns a Nokia 1650 please tell me if there are any metal parts where the phone will have skin contact?

hello,
my 4s was in os6 and when os7 first released, i have updated it. during update from os6 to os7 after 98% my wifi got disconnected and then phone automatically restarted. since then my back camera is not working. front on is working perfectly. after that i reinstall os7 properly following step by step procedure but no positive result came out.
then i tried to change the camera with a new one but still with new camera the problem is same. then they used my camera in some other 4s and it is working fine. now i dont know what to do.
right now using os7.1.2
please advise.

Did you modify any of the html that embeds the Flash Catalyst swf? That might be source of the bleed.

There is no other place to get the original screen/parts other than Apple. And Apples does not sell parts.
As soon as a 3rd party opens/changes the phone parts Apple will be able to tell and won't accept a phone that isn't original.
You will need to look at other options or buy a new phone at full price and don't make any changes to it.

How do I block pings from the outside to the ASA 5505 outside interface?

I was asked to block pings from the internet to the outside interface of our ASA-5505 firewall. I found a post that said to enter "icmp deny any outside", however that does not do it.
I created an ACL to try and do the trick, also to no avail:
access-list outside_in extended permit icmp any any echo-reply
access-list outside_in in interface outside
access-group outside_in in interface outside
Anyone have a clue what I'm doing wrong? I'm not the firewall guy as you can tell. :/

Block / Deny ICMP Echo (Ping) on Cisco ASA Outside Interface
Most networks that you protect with a Cisco ASA device, will probably want to deny ICMP (maybe not all ICMP types, but a lot of network admins will want to block ICMP Echo, etc.) on the outside interface. This will make the network harder to find through external enumeration, but not impossible.
ASA5505(config)#icmp deny any outside
You will deny ICMP on the outside interface, but if you include ICMP as a protocol in the default global policy map, you can ping from the inside to any host on the outside, and it will be permitted back through the ASA, as it knows about the previous ICMP “connection

TS2634 I bought a ipad back in December and the ear buds never worked. The sound doesnt come out of what you put in your ear but comes out of the little hole on the outside of the ear buds. Is this supposed to be this way?

The earbuds that came with my ipad have never worked. They have sound that comes out of the outside hole of the earbuds. When you put them in your ears no sound can be heard. Has this been a problem or did mine just come broken?

What is interesting is that I always had the Photo Storage location as the Memory Card (detachable). Seems odd that sometime in the last month or so the phone decided to change my setting to the Mass Memory. Might have been an firmware update that I have done in the past but not sure.

I have 5530 Xpress Music. 4 days before this problem started that when I dial a number and put the phone to my ear, I can not hear the dial tone going to other end. When other party receive the phone they say Hello/hi I can not hear them, If I say any thing they can not hear but call counter is running.
Then I tried that I dialed and turned on the Speaker, now I can hear the dial tone going, when other party responds to call, I can now hear them and they can also hear me, but dialing using handset mode it is failing, I can not hear any dial tone, the other party can not hear me , I can not hear them.... Any ideas what could be the reason, please guide me.

The security level for your inside interface should be 100 ie.

After changing that can you
1) ping the outside interface of the ASA from the pc or ping the PC from the ASA
2) I'm assuming you are trying to connect to 10.1.1.3 when you attempt the connection ?
