Dialing * from a PAP2T

Hi,
My first post here, so hi all .
I have quite a simple problem. I want to dial a number like 77*432 from the PAP2T, but when I input the * the call disconnects. I do believe the * character is reserved for configuration input, how can I circumvent this?
My dialing plan for this line is:
([3469]11|0|00|[2-9]xxxxxx|1xxx[2-9]xxxxxxS0|xxxxxxxxxxxx.)z

You put the * in the dial plan. A dial plan like this ([x*][x*].) would let you dial any combination with *.
Read about dial plans in the System Administrator guide.

I verified the following behaviour of the new 5800 which seems to me to be a bug, because it works on other nokia series 60 phones:
Because I synchronize my phonebook with MS Outlook, phone numbers have the syntax "+43 (1) 9876543". These phonebook entries can be dialed without problems when I call using the phonebook.
But if I use the speed dialing feature (press and hold e.g. key "2" ), I get the message "Nicht gestattet" (German, means "not allowed" ), and the number is not dialed. If I delete the spaces and the brackets, dialing is possible without problems.
The same behaviour can be seen if I try to dial from my built in handsfree set in my car with numbers as described above.
Before the 5800 I used a E65 and a 6120c, there the syntax described above worked without problems.
Software: v11.0.008.red.01
Any clues?

Try cleansing the number of all spaces and punctuation (and prefix with +country code)

Sorry, this is no fix, this is a workaround. It is clear, that this will avoid the problems. But PIMs like MS Outlook create phone numbers in this format; after synchronization with my phone, there are spaces in all of the phone numbers. Therefore I suggest, Nokia implements this like for all other S60v3 phones. This would be the only fix. Regards, Thomas.

I am having problem dialing from my iphoe 5 but I can receive calls and 3G is working

I have an Iphone IOS 8.2 , occasionly like every couple of weeks I am not able to dial from my phone , however I ahve no proble receiving incoming calls and 3G works fine without any interruption. So to temporalrly solve the problem I move the sim card from my Ipone and isnert it in my Ipad activiate 3g on my ipad and do soem brwsing then I move the sim card back to my phone and problem fixed , I can dial again. I woluld like to know what could be causing this problem so I can fix it once and for all

I understand that you have been having a sporadic issue where you cannot make an outgoing call. Removing the SIM card is a good troubleshooting step, although you shouldn’t need to place it in your iPad. There are a couple of other troubleshooting steps I would suggest because this is an ongoing issue such as Reset Network Settings which are outlined in the attached article.

Lumia 520 Cannot dial from Phone Book

I have just swapped my old Nokia 5230 for a Lumia 520, when I use it in my car the phone book downloads and is searchable, however when I try to dial from the Phone Book it just drops back to the first screen showing my phone is connected by Bluetooth no such probles with the 5230 in the same car, any advice, solutions?

Drop it from a great height and get your old 5230 back ,The 520 is a load of **bleep**,Much better phones about .

Can't turn off "dial from home screen"

I want to allocate shortcut keys to apps. All of the info I've seen says that you have to turn off "dial from home screen" by clicking on the "phone" icon, then clicking on the "menu" icon, then selecting the "General options" item. Trouble is, I don't have a "General options" item - can anyone help me?

I'm in the same boat. I miss my old bb. 9310 does not have this option....

E75 can't dial from contacts

Love my new E75. Last week I could dial from contacts no worries - this week - nada, no go, no dial. As the phone is likely smarter than me - what am I doing wrong??

Try this. Turn off the phone. Remove the battery. Count to 10. Put the battery back in, turn it on and see if that fixes it.

Cannot dial from corporate directory

In my IP phones I got the option corporate directory,but after I select any person from that list I can,t dial from the corporate directory list..

Can you put the Directory URL into your browser? If it looks like mine, the first URL will be the Directory input page which allows the user to enter criteria to search. That XML will include another URL that generates a Directory Listing. Put that URL in your browser, then scroll to the bottom. Near the bottom, you should see a number of SoftKeyItem instances. One of those should include a line that looks like SoftKey:Dial. It will also need a position specified that equals 1 throug 4 (5 if you use 7975's). If the position flag is invalid, you may not see the Dial softkey. If anything is off when you veiw it in the browser, you need to go into the DirectoryList.asp that generated the XML and correct it.

I try to dial from contact list, but phone wants to email.

This appears to have happened by itself, but it's my wife's iPhone.
She trys to dial from her contact list, but iphone wants to email even when a phone number is touched.

Try resetting the iPhone. Hold down the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. After the phone restarts, try and see if it works. Also, can you dial a phone number and the call go through?

Nokia N900 - Smart dialing from portrait mode?

Does the N900 support "smart dialing" from the portait mode numeric key pad?
i.e start to show you matching contacts as you type a string of characters (numbers) from the home screen.

if you have the desktop visible and start typing a name on the keyboard, it opens the contacts app and shows you matching results.. not quite the same, but useful none the less

Wrong Number is dialed from Address Book

Hi all,
i have the following problem on my BBerry pearl 8100:
I have various international numbers saved in the Address Book and they all get dialed wrong (one zero is removed) from Address Book. For example: 003906505152 is the correct number, but dialing from Address Book will get 00396505152 dialed.
Anyone has ideas? Basically I cannot use the Address Book for itnernational numbers because it is useless.

Try setting your options at Call Log > Menu > Smart Dialing correctly. That is usually the source of most international dialing issues.

Nokia C7 Dialing from contact list

I'm having problem dialing from contact list and recent calls. I can only makes calls when dialing the numbers. I can receive calls. Texting works fine from contact list and recent calls, but voice call can only be done by dialing the number .Phone has to reboot everytime it happens.

First of all, check via Nokia Suite and on the phone itself for any firmware updates that may be available. IF there is an update, please update to the latest version offered. If there is no update, then try re-installing your current firmware via Nokia Suite. Failing this, try Restoring your phone to factory settings, and if this doesn't work, then you try performing a three finger hard reset. Failing this, you will need to take your phone to your local Nokia Care point for them to inspect.

Pause or Confirm when dialing from contacts or recents?

Does anyone know of a way to "pause" dialing from Contacts or Recents? Touch a Recent or a phone number in a Contact and iPhone immediately initiates a call... I'm looking for an app or setting that would ask "are you sure you want to make this call" first. Thank you!

Kind of funny, as it's certainly happened to me that I started a call without wanting to. But I've gotten used to 2 things to stop this:
1. don't tap and release, just tap and hold, then scroll. If you tap and hold, the call won't start, and you can choose not to call by simply scrolling up or down and then releasing.
2. keeping my thumb to the right side of the screen when looking at the recent phone call list. That way, if I happen to tap, it just opens up the contact info.

Fax machine dialing from FXS without 9 in CCME

Hi everyone,
I have a fax machine connected to a FXS port (voice-port 0/1/0). We use the PRI for inbound and outbound calls (voice-port 0/0/0:23). I can currently make calls from the fax through the PRI but I have to dial 9. How can I not force the fax machine to dial 9?

Is this a H323 or MGCP gateway ? If using H323
Use separate dial-peers for dialing from fax machines
dial-peer voice 1 pots
destination-pattern [2-9]...... (7 digit dialing in this case)
port 1/0/0:23
Then use COR so that phones wont have access to these dial-peers. Only fax machine ports should.
