Dialog box is hidden.

When I switch user or log off the log indialog box is hidden.
If I type in the information as if I couldsee the log in dialog box I can log in.
Dose any one have a solution to thisproblem?

What is SafeMode explains about safe boot. It performs maintenance on your computer. While booted in Safe Mode; some things installed on your computer would be disabled. Booting into safe mode could possible resolve your issue. Or, if you don't have the issue while boot in safe mode, but you do have the issue when not booted into safe mode, it would give you a clue where to look for the issue.

  • VBA dialog box hidden behind EPM processing window

I have a BPC 10 report where I want to validate selections made by the user before refreshing.  I wrote a simple piece of code to test using one condition.  If the condition is met, I want to display a message and prevent the report from refreshing.  This is working fine but when the VBA dialog box appears, it gets hidden behind an EPM processing box and not readily visible.  I had to hit alt-tab to bring it to the forefront.  Any ideas why this would be happening?  I don't recall this type of behavior when using v7.5.

    Hi All,
not sure I've undestand your request but if you want to have a form on top you can use some windows API that give you the z-order you want, just search on google "vba form stay on top"

  • Hidden dialog box locks up iTunes

In iTunes 7.5.x and 7.6.x, an Alert dialog box can be hidden resulting in a total loss of control of iTunes. To reproduce the problem:
    - Open iTunes
    - Under Preferences/Playback, select "Play Movies and TV shows in a separate window"
    - Ensure that you have a video in a format that can be played by iTunes but not by iPhone (an audio file might work too)
    - Connect an iphone (any other iPod might work too)
    - Launch ANY video within iTunes and make the separate window large enough to cover most of the display.
    - Move the video window just enough so that you can select the iPhone, open the Video tab and check the box to sync the "video in a format that can be played by iTunes but not by iPhone"
    - Click on Apply then move the video window OVER the iTunes window.
    - A dialog box will pop up stating that the video cannot be played by the iPhone. However, it will be BEHIND the Video window and cannot be seen nor dismissed. iTunes will then be locked up as you cannot dismiss the dialog box and you cannot do anything else either.

The Call Library Function is set to run in the UI Thread.  Therefore, no front panel updates can be performed while the function is running (ie, the dialog box is showing).

  • Excel 2010 Dialog Boxes Hidden behind Application causing application freezing

Recently upgraded to Office 2010 (32bit) /Windows 7.  Have hundreds of users that we support and so far most have upgraded.  Noticed with some users though - not all - just a small percentage, when they click SaveAs in Excel 2010, the application
freezes.  On closer scrutiny we realized what was happening was the SaveAs dialog box was BEHIND the main Excel window.  The only way to restore it is to click on the tab from the Taskbar or minimize all the windows to FIND the SaveAs Dialog box.
Understandably this is causing these users stress and inconvenience.  It is very unproductive and a nuisance to say the least.  The only other variable here is that all these users have multiple monitors, usually 2-4.  But for some, this happens
in their main monitor and/or the monitor that Excel is opened in and which has the focus.  Even more strange is that this does not occur to everyone, just a handful of users so far who have reported the issue.  We have also noted it happens
with other dialog boxes as well, not just the SaveAs so it seems generic in that sense.
The other item with this issue is that it's not persistent.  Users have reported it's sporadic and comes and goes.
    Is this a bug?
    Any feedback greatly appreciated.

  • CS3  Design Premium Save As/Export Dialog Boxes Hidden

I posted this originally on the InDesign forum
    http://www.adobeforums.com/webx?128@@.59b652e3
    - since then, the problem seems to have expanded to the rest of the programs in the CS3 (or it was already existent and I didn't bother testing against it).
    Original Post
'i"Every time I try to save, export, save as, or (recently) even open a new document now, the dialog box opens with the various options for a split second and then disappears. I think it disappears behind InDesign, but cannot be sure as InDesign will not minimize, even when I Force Minimize everything (Windows-H).
'iSearched the forums high and low, and tried all of the suggested solutions. I'm on a single-monitor setup. I have reset preferences, deleted/drug out the Documents and Settings InDesign 5.0 Preferences Folder, re started etc. At my whit's end and don't really know what else to do. Are there any other fixes?"
I know for a fact that Photoshop at least was working fine yesterday (created, saved and saved as multiple layered tiffs). I cannot remember if Version Cue updated just before I left or if I could properly create, save, and save-as then too and it was only after turning it off and returning this morning that it stopped working. Either way, any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Zach

Okay, awesome! I did that and now the Open dialog box is showing - none of the others are though - does this mean that I'll need to go to each of my dialog boxes missing (save, save as) etc., resize in pshop to use correctly in InDesign? What do I do for the dialog boxes that are in InDesign and aren't showing, but are not in Photoshop (ala "Open New Library" or "Open New Book?")
Thanks a lot for your help.

  • File dialog box: how get  full path and filename

    Hello All
i have a problem to save the full path and filename with file dialog box.
I want to save full path and filename in the database for creating a link to a file.
    I use a file-dialogbox to choose a file.
I see in the textfiled something like this
    \FULLPATH\filename.ppt
but when i save the textvalue in the database or look at the seesionvalue I see
    this:
    F2087258868/filename.ppt
but I need the full path to create a link. How I can get?
    I use version 2.2.1..
    Thanks
    Putcho

    Hi Putcho,
You can create some javascript that puts it into a hidden item.
In HTML Form Element Attributes: onChange="$x('P15_X').value=$x('P15_FILE').value;" Then create another process that stores the value of the hidden item in your own table...
I quickly made an example with a normal text item, so you see it copies itself to the other box: http://apex.shellprompt.net/pls/apex/f?p=286:15
    Hope that helps,
    Dimitri

  • Save as dialog box hides behind the dock

Ever since upgrading to Yosemite, the 'save as' dialog box will partly hide behind the dock. I can't see the 'save' nor the 'cancel' button.
Now I don't want the dock to auto hide, nor do I want to make it so small I can hardly see the icons, because when I do either of that I can of course see the buttons. I can therefore only cancel by pressing escape. Since that is not really efficient working for me, this minor issue annoys me to no end.
I use Word for Mac 2011 and have never had any issues with it before. This also only happens when creating Word documents in print mode view (changing the view makes the issue go away but when I go back to print mode view - which I have always used, the buttons are hidden behind the dock again!) I would appreciate any help ...

I have the same issue with Chrome, it's very annoying, especially since the "New Folder"-Button is hidden underneath the dock as well.
When placing the Dock on the left, the Dialog even disappears underneath the screen.

  • CS5.5/OS X 10.8: Open/Save As dialog box resizing

Since I have been using CS5.5 Web Design Premium in Mountain Lion, I cannot get the programs to remember me resizing the Open and Save As dialog boxes.
Each time I Open or Save As, the windows default to about 720 x 540, which is annoyingly small on a 1920 x 1200 screen.
In each programs' .plist file, located at /Users/(username)/Library/Preferences/, there are two keys:
    NSNavPanelExpandedSizeForOpenMode:GetFile
    NSNavPanelExpandedSizeForSaveMode:PutFile
After trying to resize the windows, I  QuickLook these .plist files.  The values for these key-value pairs are
    1)  sporadically updated and subsequently ignored on program close/relaunch, or
    2)  not updated at all.
Have noticed this problem in DW, FW, AI, and FL.  PS seems to be the only exception.
Adobe products are the only programs on my Mac that exhibit this problem.
Mac OS is up to date. (10.8.3 as of date of post)
All aforementioned Adobe programs are up to date according to the Adobe Application Manager.
The preferences folder and the specific .plist files contained therein are read/writeable by me, the administrator.
Rebuilding the .plist file does not help.
Rebuilding the Saved Application State folder for the program does not help.
Other miscellaneous things (resizing Finder columns, showing/rehiding hidden files, maximizing/restoring the window) don't help either.
Can any community members who have experienced this problem suggest any fixes?

I think this is an OS X 10.8 thing rather than a CS5.5/OS X 10.8 thing – but I would really like a fix for this too, nnotnorth

  • Save PDF File As dialog box not appearing

I am running Acrobat 8 Pro on Windows Server 2008. I'm having a problem with the Adobe PDF printer. When I attempt to print a document to this printer, the "Save PDF File As" dialog box does not appear. The dialog box does open, but it is either hidden behind the running application or is minimized. I have to click the icon on the taskbar to bring the window to focus. This problem only occurs the first time I attempt to print after logging onto the computer. On subsequent print jobs the dialog box shows up fine.

Is there a registry setting or anything that I can set to get rid of the 'Save Scanned File As' box.
    No.

  • Printer dialog box does not appear in Photoshop CS.5

I use Photoshop CS.5.1 with a Macbook 2013 using version 10.9.5. The printer works perfectly with all other applications but in Photoshop no printer dialog box comes up and the print job does not appear in the printers queue. Anyone the same issues?

First, try nuking (deleting them and letting the application create new ones) your Photoshop preferences:
To re-create the preferences files for Photoshop, start the application while holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?"
Note: If this process doesn't work for you while you're using a wireless (Bluetooth) keyboard, attach a wired keyboard and retry.
Important: If you re-create the preferences by deleting the Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings file, make sure that you only delete that file. If you delete the entire settings folder, you also delete any unsaved actions or presets.
Reinstalling Photoshop does not remove the preferences file. Before reinstalling Photoshop, re-create your preferences.
NEW Video! Julieanne Kost created a video that takes you through two ways of resetting your Photoshop preferences. The manual preference file removal method is between 0:00 - 5:05. The keyboard shortcut method is between 5:05 - 8:18. The video is located here.
    Mac OS
Important: Apple made the user library folder hidden by default with the release of Mac OS X 10.7. If  you require access to files in the hidden library folder to perform Adobe-related troubleshooting, see How to access hidden user library files.

  • Dialog box warning - untrusted CA

    Hi,
I'm currently using the jre 1.42_08, and when I try to use a signed Applet with IE I have a dialog box with a warning on the signer certificate ( signer not trusted ... ) which appears.
The signer certificate is in the IE certificate store.
I saw that some people had the same issue with a previous jre (1.3) and that the solution was to import the signer certificate in *\lib\security\cacerts.
Isn't there any other solution with the 1.4 jre ?
    thanks
    laurent

Not sure if this helps but my 1.5 does seem to check IE cert store when opening a
    signed applet:
    From a full trace:
security: Loading certificates from Internet Explorer ROOT certificate store
security: Loaded certificates from Internet Explorer ROOT certificate store
security: Loading certificates from Internet Explorer TrustedPublisher certificate store
security: Loaded certificates from Internet Explorer TrustedPublisher certificate store
security: Checking if certificate is in Deployment permanent certificate store
security: Checking if certificate is in Deployment session certificate store
security: Checking if certificate is in Internet Explorer TrustedPublisher certificate store
To turn the full trace on (windows) you can start the java console, to be found here:
    C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4...\bin\jpicpl32.exe
In the advanced tab you can fill in something for runtime parameters fill in this:
    -Djavaplugin.trace=true -Djavaplugin.trace.option=basic|net|security|ext|liveconnect
if you cannot start the java console check here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\userName\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\deployment.properties
I think for linux this is somewhere in youruserdir/java (hidden directory)
add or change the following line:
    javaplugin.jre.params=-Djavaplugin.trace\=true -Djavaplugin.trace.option\=basic|net|security|ext|liveconnect
    for 1.5:
    deployment.javapi.jre.1.5.0.args=-Djavaplugin.trace\=true -Djavaplugin.trace.option\=basic|net|security|ext|liveconnect
    The trace is here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\your user\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\log\plugin...log
I think for linux this is somewhere in youruserdir/java (hidden directory)
Print out the full trace of the exception:
    try{...}catch(Exception e){e.printStackTrace();}

  • Odd thing happening to my Open dialog box in Photoshop

I use Photoshop under Mac OS 10.6.8, and every time I bring up the Open dialog box, the file window (which is always set to List View) has the Name column all scrunched up to the point where all the filenames are mostly hidden. I have to expand the column every time to see what I'm doing. Photoshop is supposed to remember your window settings, but it doesn't for me. The next time I bring up the Open dialog box, the Name column is all scrunched up again. It only does this with the Open box; not the Save box. And it only happens with Photoshop, and only one this one computer. I'm not sure if this is a problem with Photoshop, or the OS, or some third party thing. Anyone have any ideas?

It has everything to do with that thick black arrow on which you wrote RRRGH!

Can someone help me on this?
