Dictation is not working on my iMac, Please help!

Any help guys?,
I have had my Intel i5 iMac (27") for just over a week now, I've just recently found out that my Mac actually has built in dictation software from Apple pre-installed and I thought this was great, but it has randomley just decided that it no longer wants to do anything I tell it to type!
It could pick up what I was saying over 99% of the time only a few days ago, but now when I push the FN button twice to open the dictation tool, it "beeps" to tell me to start speaking, and for example, I'm in google and I say "Youtube" and it no longer does ANYTHING! It's the same story when i'm in TextEdit or any other program.
Could anyone help me to fix this problem?

All USB stops working after restarting iMac, please help!

I am having a serious problem with my iMac and i'm at a loss of what to do. I have a 24" imac with 10.5.6 and about a week or two ago I restarted my computer only to find that none of my USB ports were working. I thought it was a fluke so i just restarted again, only to find out that they still wernt working. I was forced to do a restore because I couldn't find a fix so I booted up from my leopard disc and did a restore from my time machine backup. I thought all was well and good until i restarted again yesterday. The same exact thing happened so I did another restore. Well, I just needed to restart my computer again and what do you know, my USB stopped working again! I have repaired permissions, done the apple hardware test, reset the PRAM, and verified the disc to see if there was anything wrong with it. I am at a total loss on what to do and Im really not looking forward to doing another restore only to have it do the exact same thing. Please help!

If you haven't tried this, try resetting the SMC: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1543?viewlocale=en_US
When you booted from the restore disk, did you run Disk Utility to check the hard disk for errors?
If not... make sure and disconnect anything connected to the USB ports first,
To check the hard disk:
Open Disk Utility, in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder.
Insert your Mac OS X Install disc in your computer’s optical drive or an optical drive connected to your computer, and then restart your computer. When you hear the startup tone, hold down the C key until you see the progress indicator, which looks like a spinning gear.
Follow the onscreen instructions until the Menu Bar appears with the Utilities menu in it, choose Utilities > Disk Utility, click First Aid, and then click the Verify button. If DU reports errors, click Repair. When it's finished, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Disk. In the Startup Disk window select MacintoshHD 10.x.x and click Restart.
Also, click the Apple logo top left in your Desktop, click: About This Mac, then click: More Info
That will launch your System Profiler. Under Contents on the left, click: USB and make sure your USB information is there.

Video does not Work in iTunes Store please help! annoying problem!

The video does not work in the itunes store. I get no picture, only sound when i want to preview a music video or a movie trailer. No video at all. However, i can watch my movies and music videos that i already own. Please, is there any smart guy who knows a solution?

I'm having this same issue. I tried some things but still couldn't get it to work the way it used too.
It will not play the video portion in iTunes only the audio if I click on the song. If I switch the settings from Music Video to TV show in the info tab, the file plays fine. If I open it in Quicktime, the file plays fine.
I've tried changing the preferences so that the video will play in the iTunes window, in a separate window, etc. and all it plays is the audio and will show the artwork instead of playing the video.

I just purchased a new sony vaio laptop computer with Window's 8 and I have uninstalled and installed itunes over 5 times and it will not work. When attempting to open it, a box pops up that says "ITunes has stopped working: A problems caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.". I have motified the compatibility under each selection, I have changed my securing options and nothing works. Usb port not working after yosemite update please help

ive got an early 2011 macbook pro i5. and one of my usb stopped working. if i reset my computer it works for a while and then stops again. all these after yosemite update please i really need help on this.. and also when ever im in the middle of something it keeps crashing and saying these things below after i booting back up. ive tried several things, didnt work, tried repairing disk permissions. please anybody with any idea help me!

I have the same problem when I updated to OS X 10.10 I lost both my USB ports as far as they will not recognize anything that I plug into them. The power part of the USB seams to work since it will recharge my Striiv Touch but nothing shows up when you connect anything to the ports.
I have tried a number of things from rebooting, trying other usb devices that work on other systems with no problems but will not work on my Macbook Pro.
Any Help out there?

Chris, Thank you! I wanted to change the eye area, so when I selected the area and used free transformation tool, it did not work. My mac has only a windows partition that is not working!!! please help!

Ok this is the story.
While trying to installing windows on a partition of my mac book air I have installed a software that allows mac book air to see a bootable usb like a dvd. It worked perfectly than I pressed the wrong button while installing windows on my windows partition and CREATE EMPTY SPACE where there used to be my mac os lion.
Now when I switch it on what I see is only my windws partition which is not working.
I have no clue on what to do plaese please help!

I Recently discovered that the mic on my iPad 2 with iOS version 8.2 is not working. Please what can I do to get it working?

You do know with absolute certainty he, that the mic does not work at all? Have you tried recording a video with sound to test to make sure that the microphone isn't working?
if you have tried recording a video with sound and that did not work, have you tried any troubleshooting steps at all? Have you looked to see if there is any debris covering the mic? Or do you have a cover that could be interfering with the microphone?
you can start with a reset of the iPad if you haven't done anything else. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time, for about 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears on the screen. When you see the Apple logo on the screen, you can let go of the buttons and let the iPad start up. Try the microphone after the iPad starts up again.
You could try restoring the iPad to factory settings and see if that recovers the microphone for you.
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support
It is also possible that you could have a hardware issue which you will not be able to resolve on your own. If you cannot find any other way to get the microphone to work you may end up having to take it to an Apple store and let an Apple genius evaluate the device.

Internal Microphone not working for L505D-S5983 (PLEASE HELP!)

I can't seem to get my internal microphone to work. I have enabled it under Sound->Manage Audio Devices
->Recording tab. However the green vertical bar does not detect any voice. After setting the Microphone boost to +40dB, it detected some noise (since it has some green light) but I realized it wasn't detecting my voice. Since this did not work, I re-set the Microphone boost to only +10dB. I only have one internal microphone and no external microphone.
I have seen many postings on internal microphones not working on Toshiba laptops but couldn't find a solution to mine. Can someone please help? I think it's about time that Toshiba fix this issue after the countless complaints.

No mentions of reinstalling the sound driver. That sometimes turns on the microphone.

My flash player is not working in Youtube! Please help!

I have the version 10,2,152,32 installed. it works in facebook and i can play games like Farmville, but it just isn't working in Youtube. it would just show a black box which would immediately disappear. this is what happends when i use internet explorer. when i use google chrome, not even a black box appears. and when i use mozilla, it does not recognize it. it says that i don't have an adobe flash player installed. Please help me coz i really want to watch videos on youtube...
