Dictionary files

So, if you have a licensed copy of groupwise, you have special .dc files that don't limit you to like 5 users, right?
But if you just go and download a support pack or something from download.novell.com you get the "limited" license files, right?
Normally I just copy the .dc files from the licensed into the newly downloaded ones for a quick "pre-built" SDD to install new stuff from.
But, can you mix .dc files from one OS to the other?
ie, original SDD that's licensed is NetWare, but now we're migrating to Linux.
Or must one use the licensed SDD for Linux and put those .dc files over?

No. The 5 user limitation isn't in the .dc files, it's in the ConsoleOne
snapins.

No, yuo didn't get any .dc files at all. GW8 is different, it's
unrestricted.

As of the latest GW7 patch and GW8, that shouldn't be necessary any
more.

Yes, they're the same.

    how big is your dictionary?
with a text file encoded in UTF-8 I take about 60 seconds on the emulator, maybe with a binary format the search can be done faster...

  • Radius Dictionary file conversion from free radius/steelbelt to cisco acs

Does anyone have a tool or have experience converting a free radius dictionary file to cisco acs radius format.

The key is to get all of the information needed. Normally when they say it takes too long for the client to answer that is not always the exact fault.
You may seem to get that answer if the ACS is taking a long time to process the request and the switch or client has basically timed out its requests.
The information needed is the following
all of these items really need to be gathered at the same time
    switch debugs including
    debug radius
    debug aaa authen
    debug aaa accounting
sniffer capture between the switch and the ACS
logs from ACS with debugs enabled.
If you are going to AD on the backend you may also want a sniffer capture between the ACS and the AD
all of these together should tell you where the delay of failure lays and then at that time some changes can be suggested

  • Add custom dictionary files

    Hi,
I am trying to add custom dictionary files to our office installation on a TS server.
    its 2012 R2 server running office 365 32bit.
i have a script that adds the paths to the custom dictionaries to the registry.
the script adds 2 entries for each dictionary
    "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Proofing Tools\1.0\Custom
    Dictionaries\
the name and the value is the path
    and then "name_state" with a hex value of 01 00 00
this worked on 2010 but isnt working with my current setup.
the dictionaries work if manually added through word.
though if done this way 4 reg keys are created
    with name_roamed and name_external.
the name also contains the username.domain if created in word.
in the script the name is just a number,  "10" for example.
any ideas on how to deploy custom dictionary files into office 365 on server 2012?

  • Kereberos dictionary file kadm5.dict

    Hello all:
I have been running a 10.4.7 OD server with ldap and kerberos, and have observed this sequence of client-side behavior when using secure AFP to make a remote connection to the server:
    1) apple-k, and "Connect to Server" window pops up, and I proceed to select my server from my favorites list, and click "connect"
    2) "Connecting to Server" window pops up with a progress bar
    3) this window is quickly covered up by an expanded "Connect to Server" window that prompts for name and password, and has the options wheel, where I checked all options, including "allow secure connections using ssh" option. I fill in user credentials and click "connect"
    4) "Creating a secure connection to server" window pops up and quickly disappears and then it comes back again for a while, and then is replaced with "connection failed" error window that also says "unknown user, incorrect password, or login is disabled..."
    5) I click "ok" on error window, and it disappears, and is replaced with the expanded "Connect to Server" window again
    6) However, this time, when I click on "connect" it proceeds to show me an "untitled window" that lists the mountpoints on the server, and it lets me select and mount any of the volumes listed...
I have been living with this error and considered it minor, since it seems like a secure connection is still made. I believe that the first time I try to connect, I don't have a ticket yet, and so get the error, but on the second time around, it recognizes my ticket...
Still, I don't like to get errors, and it makes me think there is something I could better configure to make it go away, so I looked at the log and saw the following interesting error pattern repeated:
    www% sudo tail /var/log/krb5kdc/kadmin.log
Feb 13 05:06:04 localhost kadmind[46](debug): Got signal to request exit
    Feb 13 05:06:04 localhost kadmind[46](info): finished, exiting
Feb 13 05:06:32 localhost kadmind[46](info): Seeding random number generator
Feb 13 05:06:32 localhost kadmind[46](info): No dictionary file specified, continuing without one.
    Feb 13 05:06:32 localhost kadmind[46](info): starting
This doesn't seem like an unknown user, so I am unsure if it is related, but it made me lookup what a dictionary file is, and the man page on kadmin suggest that there is kadm5.dict file that contains a dictionary of strings explicity disallowed as passwords.
So I have searched for this kadm5.dict file and can't find it anywhere... so I assume that I need to create it, but I can't find the syntax for the "dictionary of strings" nor where to save the file, though I would guess in /etc.
Maybe these are two separate issues, and the server-side dictionary error is not related to the client-side "connection failed" error...
However, it has uncovered this dictionary file, and if there is anybody out there who can provide an example dictionary file, and share any tips on how to make the client-side "connection failed" error go away, we would all be oblidged.
    Thanks.

  • Dictionary file is not deploying into server

    Experts,
I'm very new to this CAF, recently we created one sample application "Carpool" by looking into help.sap.com. When we are deploying the application, dictionary file is not getting deployed into server out of 5 files(metadata, webdynpro, dictionary, permissions, carpool) and throwing the design time error "deployment aborted: file:/D:/DOCUME.....dictionary.sda    No further description found".
But in the CAFUI Admin we are able to create the UI layer and getting the output as required. Now my question here is do I need to considered this dictionary deployment error as severe or can i igonre this.
Could you people tell the cause for this error and please suggest me how can we get rid off this.
I am expecting your positive answers.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Vasantha,
    1. first check weather the new Receiver channel which you have created is visible in the communication channel monitoring?
if not you have to refresh the cache.
2.if the channel is visible and no data in it. go to SXI_MONITOR and check the status of the message in MONI.
    3. if its successful check very carefully in Moni weather what Receiver Service, Receiver Namespace, Receiver Interface its showing?
    4. then according the entry in the Moni for Receiver service and Interface check in Message Monitoring RWB.
you should be able to see your message.

    Dear all,
I am having problem deleting thousands of custom dictionary entry manually from IPAD2. I asked for help here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3465741 but the problem remains.
Therefore, I am thinking of copying default suer dictionary files to overwrite those on my IPAD. These files are:
    UserDictionary.sqlite
    WordKeyPairs.plist
If any kind soul out there has access to these files and can send me a copy to save me from restoring the entire IPAD to factory default, I will be greatly indebted.

  • CVI 2013f1 GUI Localization Utility crashes when loading dictionary file

    Hello, all,
I'm using the CVI localization tool localui.exe (version 13.0.0.632). After loading the uir file (uhh, quite big - 1 519 616 bytes) I try to use my small dictionary file (very small = 12 rules) - and I'm facing the unhandled exception - unknown source position, General Protection Fault at address 0x68546446 ... The similar issue comes after try of "Export All to dictionary"...
Moreover, when I try open the uir file (succesfully) and try to quit localui.exe without any other action, the localui hangs....
    I'm using Win XP SP3.
I'm ready to send the file(s) to some NI investigation - but don't known the appropriate address/mailbox ...
    Regards,
    George

    Hello DocRabbit,
I have recieved your file, thank you!
I investigated your scenario, and I have mixed results:
    I am using 64 bit Windows 7.I tried both CVI 2013 (localui.exe version 13.0.0.632), and CVI 2102 SP1 (version 12.0.1.127)
Loading the .uir and the .lwd dictionary file that you attached works OK,
Adding some localized text and saving works OK,
"Export All to dictionary..." works OK,
The tool however does hang when I try to quit.
    I did find a solution:
My recommendation is to split the various windows in your .uir file into separate, smaller .uir files. You do have a high number of windows in a single .uir, I think this may be causing the problems.
I started by simply deleting a few windows from the file, and all of the described problems dissapeared.
Further, it is recommended good practice to keep all major application window in its own separate .uir file.
If your application requires to keep everything in one .uir file, then my only other recommendation is to try using a 64-bit OS, as it seems that it is more stable this way (I am using Win7 64 bit).
I am submitting the issue to the developers so they can investigate further, but the fix (if any) can not be expected soner than the next release of CVI, so from your perspective it makes no difference right now.
I thank you for submitting this issue, and I apologize for any inconvenience that it may have caused.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance,

  • Dictd local dictionary files

It seems like all the dictionary database files for dictd, if you want to access them locally, are way out of date in AUR and point to the wrong directory. Is anyone running dictd locally? Do I have to install the dictionaries from source?

Okay, I figured out that I could just edit the ./pkgbuild and point it to the correct directory:
    ftp://ftp.dict.org/dict/pre/$_mypkgname.tar.gz
I got this error though on install:
warning: directory permissions differ on usr/
    filesystem: 755  package: 2755
warning: directory permissions differ on usr/share/
    filesystem: 755  package: 2755
warning: directory permissions differ on usr/share/dictd/
    filesystem: 755  package: 2755
It seems to be working fine though, should I be concerned?

  • Need to import a Medical Dictionary from Quark to InDesign

Just switched from Quark to InDesign for a Medical Journal and they need their dictionary to be loaded into InDesign.
I have their .QUD file from Quark but am having difficulty loading it through the preferences.
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks in advance!

From your description I'm guessing a .qud is a Quark User Dictionary file from Windows XPress. If so, then it should be a simple text file.<br /><br />The best thing to do is open it in a text editor, make sure it all looks clean, and then paste all of the text into InDesign and run a spell check, keeping all of the words as you go. A bunch of clicks for the conversion, but it will create a user dictionary file as InDesign requires, which is a different format from Quark's.<br /><br />When done back up your new file from ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Linguistics/Dictionaries/Adobe Custom Dictionary/<language of the file>. (Mac location, Windows should be similar.)

  • Using a second custom dictionary in Pages?

Over the last 12 months, I have created my own 66,000+ word medical dictionary for Word. Recently I switched over to Mac, and I use both Pages and Word. (I prefer Pages, if for no other reason than it's Universal.) I was wondering if it were possible to add in a second dictionary so when I'm writing papers with lots of medical/biology/chemistry terms, I don't get spelling errors all over the place.
(And if anyone is interested in the dictionary itself, or might know someone who'd find it useful, you can get it here.)
MacBook, 20" iMac Core Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Rian,
    welcome to Apple Discussions.
I've converted the all.dic from Medic.zip in the format you need with Pages. A quick test showed that it works.
If you send me your e-mail address, I'll send you the new dictionary file. Click on my name above the atavar and use the e-mail address in the Biography field.
You then only need to join your ~/Library/Spelling/en with the new medic.en:
    * Either open both en and medic.en in TextEdit and copy medic.en to the en window, then save the file
    * Or, if you're familiar with Terminal.all, you could cd to ~/Library/Spelling and use this command:
    cat ~/Desktop/medic.en >> en
(I assume that you unzipped the file to your desktop)
If you want to change all.dic by yourself, then you have to replace the line endings with a special character from the en file. The character looks like "^@" but is in fact one character. In the resulting file, the words are all in one line separated by the special character. TextEdit doesn't show this character, so to change all.dic you should use something like emacs that comes with Mac OS X. You can launch emacs in Terminal.app.
