Dictionary text message languages

I bought a Nokia 2760; the software does not have the application to write in spanish text messages using the dictionary.
I just wonder if there is the option to download or reprogram the mobile to install the spanish language in the text message dictionary.
The place where I got the mobile did not help me about a solution.
Thanks in advance for your help
Tania.

You can turn on additional international keyboards. When more than one keyboard is turned on, the globe symbol left of the spacebar is used to switch between them. When you switch to another keyboard, the spacebar briefly indicates the keyboard language now selected for use. If the keyboard selected has a dictionary, the appropriate dictionary is activated automatically when you select a supported keyboard. iPhone uses the active dictionary to suggest corrections or complete the word you’re typing. This, using an Italian keyboard also uses the Italian dictionary to suggest corrections.

  • Text Messaging in Japanese (or other language with non-Roman script)

Is it possible to send/receive text messages written in non-Roman characters with Verizon?
More specifically, I'm using a Droid 2 with Verizon, and I'm trying to text a friend in Japanese.  She has an iPhone (AT&T), and is physically in the U.S. (so I'm not asking about international text messaging).  I've already installed apps on my Droid (e.g. OpenWNN, or Simeji) to input Japanese, which work fine in and of themselves, and the Droid of course displays Japanese text or other languages just fine on the Browser or in E-mails.
However, I'm having lots of trouble with Text Messaging.  When I send a message containing Japanese text (typed in perfectly fine with OpenWNN or whatever), she either never gets the message, or the text comes out unreadable (as ???????).  Messages with a mix of Roman and non-Roman characters typically show the Roman characters ok, but the non-Roman ones (i.e. Japanese) are garbled.  If she sends me a message containing any non-Roman characters, I generally don't get the message at all (i.e. not even garbled-- just no message at all).   This deficiency seems to be specific to Text Messaging, as far as I can tell.  I can send and receive e-mails containing Japanese just fine, read foreign language web pages, and type in Japanese into search boxes on those web pages and so on with the Droid.  However, sending an e-mail message to (myphone#)@vtext.com, predictably, results in any Japanese text being garbled, though Roman characters come through just fine.
Is this perhaps something specific to Verizon's network?  Or is text messaging in non-Roman scripts just inherently impossible?  My friend says she knows others who can successfully text in non-Roman scripts (e.g. Korean Hangul, Japanese Kana or Kanji), and claims some of these folks are Verizon customers too.  A search on droidforums.com yielded someone who supposedly could text in Korean within Verizon.  So, I'm hoping this is possible, and I'm just missing something. However, this is perhaps all secondhand information and rumor.
(Incidentally, I know for certain that messaging with non-Roman scripts is possible in general.  During my last vacation in Japan, I rented a phone there, and could send messages in English or Japanese scripts.  However, I believe the phones there actually have their own e-mail addresses, and so the service there is more like regular e-mail-- my understanding is that text messaging as we know it in the U.S. is a distinct technology, though I could well be wrong.)
So, to restate my question: is it possible to text message with non-Roman scripts with Verizon?  Has anyone out there done this successfully-- if so what did you do, or what app did you use?  Or is it in fact impossible? (e.g. Maybe text messaging here only uses 7 or 8 bits, instead of 14 or 16 needed to encode all the various Asian, European, and other scripts?)
    Thanks for any help available.

I'm trying to figure this out as well, but my understanding on the matter is that Verizon's CDMA network uses unicode which will display, roman characters, loa, thai, and serveral other languages, but not hirigana, kanji, katakana, or simplified or traditional chinese.  The Romaji should work however.  It would be nice to hear some input from a Verizon rep on the subject, because like you my info is all second hand.
If my understanding is correct, the simple answer is no, it's not possible.

  • Text messaging in other languages

Seems like 3G does not support text messaging in Korean. Messages sent or received in Korean appears as blank or question marks. Is there going to be a firmware update in the future that will allow text messaging in foreign languages?

Well, it's a bit complicated, so please bear with me here!
    1. An American in the Seattle area whose Window$ PC just got upgraded so that Chinese will display on her computer - not that she can read it - got the Chinese characters from my iPhone, but the European accented letters (é, ê, è, ü etc.) as well as... quotation marks showed up as blank boxes in her reply when I read it on my iPhone. But when I read her reply in *Apple Mail*, each of those showed up as a box with a little cauldron(?) in it.
    2. A French Window$ PC / Outlook user in Paris got the same blank boxes when I read his reply on my iPhone, but when read in Entourage on my Mac, they also came through with those little cauldron(?) boxes.
    3. A (traditional) Chinese Window$ PC / Outlook Express user in Taiwan got all the foreign accented characters, quotation marks and the Chinese characters, whether I read his reply on my iPhone, in Apple Mail or in Entourage, even though the é went through as if borrowed from a different font.
    Any ideas???

  • Text Message in Different Language

I am currently using iPhone 3GS and when i text in Korean, my other friends can receive and able to read it. However, when they text me in Korean, I cannot read it. It just shows question marks. My friends have _Droid, Verizon iPhone4 and Galaxy S_. Is there any way for me to read *Korean text messages*?

  • How to use a dictionary for multi languages when displaying mess

how to use a dictionary for multi languages when displaying messages??

1st you have to define new messages in the dictionary:-
    1.     We have to open the application.
    2.     Functional administrator responsibility.
    3.     Core services.
    4.     Messages.
    •     Create message button.
    •     Now fill the name of the message that we want to call it from our code in the Code field.
    •     Fill the application name with short name of the application.
    •     Choose the language.
    •     Set the text you want to be displayed.
2nd, Now in the CO in the in the process form request you will code throw new OAException ("application short name","Code").
Now run and see the result.
3rd we want to use Arabic messages, use the same one you have created for saving as an example but you choose duplicate and set the language Arabic.
    •     Run the page.
    •     Choose preferences.
    •     Current Session language = Arabic.
Now you can see the result.

  • IPhone 4: Blank text messages, dropped calls, slow Internet connection

I thought I was going to be so happy with the iPhone 4 but I am very dissatisfied... Every time I am on the phone the call drops, called AT&T and they can't help and transfer me to apple, still no answer from both parties. I could not believe that they said to use DUCKTAPE.... Are they being serious??????
Also, when I send a text message, most of the time the person receiving the text says it is blank. Has anyone else experiencing this problem?

I just bought a couple of iphone 4's last week (one for my wife and one for me). After two days of using it, my wife commented that her sister (who lives in Los Angeles, we live in Seattle) was receiving "some" messages blank. Originally I thought it was related to my sister in law being on a T-mobile network or just because she was using a different phone.
However, last night, a friend mentioned exactly the same thing. Out of three text messages I've sent, two came in blank, no text.
My theory: We both text in English and Spanish, therefore we have two keyboards loaded on the iphone, so we can switch easily. I have a feeling the special characters in the spanish language is what deters people with other phones/different network to receive them properly. I will switch my keyboard back to English only and post my results.

    System Response

    Procedure

what could be this due to.
It was working fine yesterday. today it is showing this error.

  • Message language determination

How does the Message language get determined in the output (NAST-SPRAS)?

    Hi Obadiah,
The language of the text is determined by the 3 different levels,
    1) By the language defined in the output condition records for that output.
    2) If the language is not mentioned in the output record, it would be picked from the customer masters record. But here there is a twist that the customer master data(sold to party in sales order, ship-to in delivery) copied into sales order could be changed from the partner tab in the header.
    3) from the users profile.
The preference followed is in the order mentioned above.
But if you are using the SAP Scripts in the older versions then you might have a problem that a part of the output is in different language than the rest of the output. So if you have this problem please let me know.
    regards,
    Abhishek

  • Notification words "Text Messages" in BB Hub is in French - "Missatges de text"

Just got my Z10 a week ago and I love it.  still figuring out some of the workings, but in general I'm enjoying it.  Only weird thing is that in my BB Hub, the words "Text Message" actually appear in French - "Missatges de text" and I can't figure out how to change it. Everything else on my BB is in English.  I've tried changing the device language and that hasn't done anything.  I think it might be a software issue?
    Solved!

Mine was originally in german. I set my languages to English even tho they already said English and it solved the issue

  • Why do I get text messages telling me I need to make a payment?

My prepaid $50 plan is set up to automatically debit my credit card for the full monthly amount when it's due.
I get a text message 3 days before the due date that I need to make a $50.00 payment by the due date.
I then get a text message ON the due date (at 2:07 IN THE MORNING) that $50.00 has been added to my account (because of autopay).
I then get another message later in the morning of the same day that my Auto Pay payment was processed.
This is so annoying that I am considering STRONGLY changing carriers:
Since my plan is on AUTOPAY, I DON'T NEED or have use for the first message.
    The second message seems:
REDUNDANT - since I will also receive the confirmation message later that day.
INCONSIDERATE - since it is sent at 2:00 IN THE MORNING.
STUPID - since I am on AUTOPAY, I should only get a message if AUTOPAY FAILS, and then not at  2:00 IN THE MORNING!
    The second message seems:
UNNECESSARY - since I am on AUTOPAY.
STUPID - since I am on AUTOPAY, I should only get a message if AUTOPAY FAILS!!!
I cannot find a support person in any part of Verizon who can fix this calling *611.
I cannot find a place on my userid where I CAN CHANGE IT MYSELF.
I like Verizon but I am sufficiently annoyed to change carriers if this simple software change can't or won't be made, or if I don't receive an acceptable response from Verizon in this forum, where it is accessable by other users.

Actually, the high level support lady has communicated with the Verizon Internet Technology department and it actually sounds like there may be a fix on the way for me. There is no direct number to call, but the suggestion that I was about to change providers seems to have gotten me escalated. It took almost two hours to get here, though.
They have call centers in places like Murfreesboro, TN. I don't know why they're still off-shored for first contact calls and why it's so difficult to get escalated to somebody who doesn't communicate by script in widely varying states of English communication ability. I ask for somebody who speaks English as a first language and I get a different Tagalog- or Spanish-speaker. It's hard enough to understand the occasional New Yorker I happen to get. And the scripts they use are VERY frustrating. "Hello, valued customer" is not a proper response to "My ****** phone isn't working right AGAIN!!!".
End result: They are going to "back out a change they made in October" that removed the reasonable-hour check for sending the messages. Since they do releases monthly and I don't know when they did the last one, I have no idea when this will happen. I'm not hopeful, since my initial complaint was in July, before they made the October change.
*611 or 888 294-6804 options 4-6-4 are what she gave me for tech support to get to a person. That's what I did 1 hour and 31 minutes ago, Before that I spent 8 minutes doing *611, asked for a English-as-a-first-language person and was transferred to another off-shore 4 times and hung up in frustration.
    Magic Jack has better service.

    Merci d'avance
    Cordialement

I'm not exactly sure that I have corretly understood your question, but it seems to me that you want to have part of the text in a textbox with different attributes (color or boldness or so). This in not possible with regular textbox control, which holds only one set of attributes valid for the whole control.
I am afraid the richtextbox is the only valid control for such a matter.
As a last note, here the link to the french board of the forums where french-speaking users can discuss in their native language.
Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

  • Long text message

    Hi,
    Please help.
I had to change long text  message which I did using SE91 transaction. A popup window appeared asking for modification name. I gave the message class name as modification name. The long text message is maintained in EN lang.
I have to translate this message into DE which I tried to do with SE63 transaction
(Long Text->Other Documentation-> Message Documentation) . But the changes done in SE91 does not appear in SE63 screen. The old long text message (both source and target )appears with some Docu comments .
But when I execute the program by logging in EN lang, the long text message appears with the recent changes . But in DE the long text message is blanks.
Please do let me know why discrepancy exists in the long text message  shown in SE91 and SE63 transaction. Please advise what must be done to make the changes appear in SE63 transaction and Text translation.
    Thank You.

    hi,
If you are looking for the translations for the text-symbols and selection texts used in your program, you need not require to use Transaction SE63. Instead you can do this in SE38 (or SE80)itself.
For getting the translations in DE version, you need to maintain the corresponding DE version of text-symbols and selection texts in the EN version of the program.
for example, to maintain text elements in both versions, you can follow the steps mentioned below:
STEP1: in EN version, from the ABAP editor, GOTO->SELECTION TEXTS->TEXT ELEMENTS navigating from the menu bar.
STEP2: Select a particular text element and navigate as GOTO->TRANSLATION
STEP3: Now you get a popup, asking for source language and target language
STEP4: Choose DE as target lang and EN as source lang; press enter
STEP5: Now you are in a new screen, where you need to enter the DE text just below the EN Text appears
STEP6: Save and comeback; activate the program
STEP7: login in DE lang and see the difference
You can follow the above steps, for any selection texts, list headings or
    text symbols in the program
    regards,

  • Some text messages not received or are empty

Some text messages not received or are empty, I have been using the Verizon app because I like it but I have also seen issues with Textra. Basically some messages have been empty but last night I sent a text to someone and it sent and delivered and the person never got it. I have wifi enabled at home which was where it happened and I do use a network extender due to the weak coverage but I have a great signal with it and voice was clear last night since I received a call, is anyone else having issues?
I am using Nova Launcher which shouldn't matter. Everything else works great and I love the phone.
    Thanks

I, too, have been having many problems with not receiving text messages.  I have been dealing with this crap for 6 weeks now!!  I don't receive texts from various people, and it is very sporadic.  It shows in their sent box, but NEVER shows up in my inbox.  I have talked to about 8 different reps from VW and they keep coming up with excuses.  We have tried EVERYTHING!  They have even sent me a different phone and I am still having this problem.  I just got off the phone (again!) with them and they are sending me ANOTHER phone.  I have asked to get out of my contract with no ETF, but, of course, they won't allow that to happen.  They keep telling me that I "have to work with them"!!  Like I haven't given them several chances already!  My job is in jeopardy because my boss texted me something; I never received it; and he was NOT happy!!  He told me to "get the problem fixed"...I don't feel VW is living up to their end of the contract and I feel like I am paying a lot of money every month for an unreliable service.  I am pursuing reporting this to the FCC.  Needless to say, I got very angry with the last 2 people I have spoken with at VW and used some colorful language!  Does anybody have any suggestions on what I can do next (before I lose my job!!)!!
