Did anyone configure the AddressBook (Contacts) and Calendar in Evolution?

I'm trying to configure the contacts in evolution and selecting and LDAP AddressBook witht he port 4032, which is the port for OID. As far as authentication, I tried both "E-mail Address" and "DN" but none worked!
Also, I don't know what URL should I put for the calendar! Anyone has an idea?

While sync with Link should work it is buggy and is an afterthought to the whole BB10 system. I recommend using an Outlook.com account, installing the Hotmail connector in Outlook, and then syncing the Outlook.com contacts and calendar to the BB10 device. I say Outlook.com because it uses Exchange Active Sync which is the most reliable sync to the device.
I used to sync with Link as well but the Outlook.com wireless sync really is far better.
As for the original question I don't know why it's not recognized. i see this reported on the forums all the time.

I have multiple email accounts set up in Outlook tho only use contacts and calendar in relation to one of these. Cannot sync itunes with the correct contacts and calendars, when I sync the calendar and contacts are empty. Not sure if there is any way to point itunes to particular address books and calendars.
I have installed and uninstalled itunes 3 times and thank goodness have a backup

I had my home computer set up to sync to work's Exchange server. It worked well, but I didn't like seeing work email messages and other programs trying to sync with my default Outlook folder, which was then the Exchange (& work related) .ost file. I know there are various ways to manage those problems using filters, view, subfolders, etc., but it was a hassle for me. I think it could work well for many other folks.
For now, I have published my work calendar and subscribed to that calendar on my home computer. So I have view only access to my calendar on my home computer (and I can add/edit calendar items on my iPad (or Outlook Web Access) when away from work). This is not quite what I wanted, but it may work.
It almost makes me long for the days when I used my Windows Mobile Treo to sync back and forth between exchange at work and outlook at home (but had many sync conflicts as a result).

I can't get the iCloud Contacts and Calendar folders to appear in Outlook 2010 using the iCloud Control Panel. Also the datafile share which ends in .aplzod is not created in Outlook. The Contacts and Calendar are sent to iCloud (verified on iCloud.com) but the iCloud folders are not created in Outlook in the Contacts and Calendar navigation panes.   I get a message toward the end of the sync process indicating that there was an unspecified error. I'm using the newest version of the iCloud Control Panel, the 32 bit version of Outlook 2010, Windows 7 64 bit, an iPhone 3GS, and the latest version of iTunes. Any ideas how to complete the sync process to the end?

Did I permanently delete my contacts and calendar??

Hello,
I finally upgraded my MacBook OS to 10.6.8, as well as getting up to date with the latest iphone OS. Before, I had an old OS (10.4 I believe) which was too old for my newer iphone to synch to. So, my laptop iTunes had old data from my old phone stored there. When I upgraded and resynched (after two years), my computer downloaded my OLD contacts and calendar, apps, photos - EVERYTHING - to my new iphone. I noticed that my new applications that WERE stored on my iphone are now in iTunes. Is my other info stored somewhere on my computer (or my phone) somewhere? How can I revert to my old data that was on my iphone? Or am I out of luck?

if you are using OSX Lion with iCloud, look for an "iCloud" contacts group that Lion creates without telling you and moves all your existing contacts into.

When i open system preferences how can i access the mail contacts and calendars as every time i click on it this is what i get (You can't open Mail, Contacts

Can any one please advise how to fix this problem when i open preferances and go to mail so i can change passwords and so on this is what i get (You can’t open Mail, Contacts & Calendars preferences because it doesn’t work on an Intel-based Mac.) i have to access this to be able to change my emails any help would be appricated thanks.

This option is not available on my phone. I try to click on Add Account but it is "greyed out" so its not possible.
Can anyone tell me what to do to turn this option on?

This sounds like restrictions are enabled on your device. With this being enabled, you would not be able to make any changes to the settings that are set to be restricted. This article will explain restrictions and shows you how to disable this feature.

With my fingers crossed I uninstalled the updated iTunes that led to the problem. Then went to the iTunes.com site to download the full version. After the install was finished I connected the iPod and it detected and synced the iPod without any further issues. I don't get the error, Contacts and calendars cannot be synced on the iPod "%1$S", any more.

Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac sync Contacts and Calendar issues

OK, so I have a Macbook Pro with OS X Mountian Lion. I have Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac installed. Asked @BlackberryHelp on Twitter how to sync my Blackberry Torch with Outlook as it seems to default to using the builtin Apple Contacts and Calendar instead of Outlook. So they sent me the link to KB19148: "How to synchronize organizer data in Microsoft Office for Mac between the BlackBerry smartphone and a Mac computer using BlackBerry Desktop Software". So I turned on the Sync Services in Outlook and it gave me the dialog box confirming that everything was synced. And it appeared to copy and sync whatever Contacts in the Apple Contacts and calendar entries in the Apple Calendar into Outlook and vice versa. Cool since that's what I wanted.
Then I tried using the Blackberry Desktop Manager to sync everything to my Blackberry Torch 9810. Everything looked like it synced until I opened my Blackberry and all my Contacts were gone. Same with my Calendar entries, except that the Calender entries were hit and miss to whatever copied over (some Calendar entries were missing and others were duplicates). Checked the Apple Contacts and all of them were gone. But when I opened Outlook, everything was there and all OK.
So am I missing something? Turning on Sync Services in Outlook should sync all my Contacts and Calendar with my Blackberry when I use Blackberry Desktop Manager, correct? So why is it still syncing with the Apple Contacts and Calendar (and why did it delete all my Apple Contacts and mess up my Apple Calendar)?
Good thing I backed everything up first so restored everything. But I have all my updated Contacts and Calendar in Outlook and I still need to sync all of that. I don't want to manually do it. So how do I fix this??

After a bit of googling I think you mean the notation "domain\username", i.e., a backslash separator but no leading backslash.
I am not familiar with that notation but apparently it is valid in some contexts. I googled "os x "domain\username"" to confirm this notation. Here's one of the hits that shows the notation:

I think "DFS" is a distributed file system. That's as much as I know about this.

I just lost my contacts and calendar entries through icloud, how do i get them back?

I read that the space being used up on my iphone can be from having iCloud backups on. So I turned them all off and thought when it said to delete the contacts and calendar eltries it mean the back up being stored on the phone, not the actual contacts and calendar entries. Can anyone help me to restore these items?

It sounds like you are turning off syncing (settings > iCloud) rather than back ups.
Try turning them on again.

Syncing iOS 7 contacts and calendars to Gmail

I am wondering if anyone can tell me what settings to adjust, to have my current iPhone contacts and calendar inputs added to my Gmail account online.
Currently, I have gone to Settings > Mail, Contact, Calendars > Gmail > and i have the Mail, Contacts and Calendars selected. But I do not see any of the contacts or calendar entries in my Gmail account online, via my computer.
This will all be done an a Windows computer.
Any help would be much appreciated.

"contacts and calendars cannot be synced" I just want my music, I already have contacts and calendars.

I got an iPhone 5c a little under a month ago, and haven't been able to put music on it since then. iTunes keeps trying to sync contacts and calendars, which I already have in place on the phone (via iCloud). However, when my I plugged my moms brand new 5c up to put music on it, it worked perfectly! I've compared our settings, and everything is the same. Please tell me what to do! Contacts and Calendar suddenly vanished from my new I phone and Mobile Me

I set up my new iphone and mobile me account this morning with no problems. I used the phone, contacts, and calendar with no problem for about three hours and then all of my contacts and calendar entries vanished. I have backed both up from my PowerBook. Any thought on what happened and how to prevent?

I figured out my problem. When I set up my accounts on my phone I had a .mac and a .me account and made the mistake of having sync turned on with both. When I figured out that my PowerBook was syncing with the .mac account I turned off the .me sync on my phone and everything is restored!

Best way to move Mail, Contacts, and Calendars

I'm adding an additional server to my network to distribute some of my services and I would like to move the mail, contacts, and calendar services to this new server. It will be a ML machine running 10.8.5 with Server 2.2.1. I have these services already running on another server also running ML 10.8.5 and server 2.2.1.
What's the best way to move the data between these two machines? Any suggestion are greatly appreciated!

Mail: mailboxes from /Library/Server/Mail/Data/mail can be moved using command line
- Note the correspondence between mailbox folder name(hexadecimal) and user name, can be extracted using Directory tool)
- Also if u want to have the same username - hexa key maybe you should export the OD. Personally I would just rename old folder to new hexa key)
- Do not forget to also check(mimic) the folder group/owner rights
Calendar&Contacts: Use Export and Import.
I honestly think this are the best ways (fast&clean).
Also I think they are safe, mail 100% is transferred and for Calendar&Contacts I am not aware of any data that can be lost during export-import.
(of course you can also replicate your server using DiskUtility create new image, and then deactivate unwanted services)
