Did anyone stop to think 10.10 is the same as 10.1 so the updaters that check the OS version will not allow updates ?
Just tred to install anti-virus on the new 10.10 OS and low and behold it see it as 10.1, no surprise there, and will not let me install. Seem most of my installers will not do to the need to be 10.6 or later. This would be funny if it was not costing me all of this time.
10.10 is not the same as 10.1 and a properly coded installer should recognize that.
Check if the versions of the software are up to date. Old versions might cause problems anyway.

Hey! I had the same problem you did just today when I was trying to get my second iPhone to sync. What you need to do with music or anything extra that you doing you have to creat a second playlist or picture or anything that you would like to use, so that you can add to the second device that you are going to be using. I am not sure if that will help but it helped me out a lot!! Good luck!

Connecting your MacBook Pro and your MacBook Air will be the fastest way, but you have to spend money on cables and adapters (also, your MacBook Pro doesn't support Thunderbolt).
As you have a Time Capsule, one thing you can do is to start your MacBook Pro and make a Time Machine backup. Then, turn on your MacBook Air and set it up. Setup Assistant will ask you to restore a backup, so select the option to restore the backup from the Time Capsule and be patient. This can take a lot of time if you have to migrate a lot of files -
I tried to update my phone. The update didnt go all the way through, and ended up freezing the screen on my iphone with an itunes icon on it. I tried to reboot phone with no success...the icon stays on there with no other function of the phone available. Anybody know of a fix?
Put your iphone in dfu mode by doing this. Turn your iphone off. When its off, hold home and power button together for exactly 10 seconds, then release the power button and keep holding home button for another 10 seconds. Then open up itunes on your pc and plug your iphone to your pc. Itunes should recognize your iphone in recovery mode and it will tell you to restore it. Click restore, and your iphone will restore. Remember that, if you do this you will lose everything that was on your iphone. You can restore from backup later on. Hope I helped. I have tried reseting the network settings and turning my Imessage on and off but still no luck. Sometimes the LTE will drop and then the 4G so im wondering now if this even an software problem or service problem. I tried at&t but i was stuck on hold for long that i hung up.

Iphone 6Plus will not allow POP email account and cannot print to my wifi printers, I did on my Iphone 5 until I upgraded, can anyone help
I had talked with three people at Apple tech support on the phone, one person in the Apple store in Indianapolis, plus the other places I mentioned. Only the one young man in the Apple store was even able to identify the problem which was the POP vs. IMAP issue. And then like you said he was only able to say he hoped it would be fixed in the next update release. I did call him back this morning and told him about your simple solution, that I had seen it at the Apple forum, and that he might suggest bringing this topic up at the next staff meeting. I also let my Verizon rep know and an agent at Comcast. Something so simple yet it took three days and a lot of frustration to get fixed. Thanks again. You're my hero! ~ Carol Thomas
Also forgot to mention ... I got the iPhone 6 Plus about three weeks ago and did not have this problem. But I did a backup of my iPhone 5S on the computer and then used that backup to restore to my new iPhone. The iPad I did differently and just set it up as a new iPad with no restoring from the old one. That must have made a difference on the phone because it was set up just like the 5S ... as a POP3. -
My computer won't play videos from site like the Daily Show and the CW, but they stopped working last week. I have the newest version of Adobe player. Anyone know why the full videos will not play?
I failed to mention that the sound does play on the videos that are not playing.

AAfter upgrading to IOS 8.1, the activity icon on the status bar will not stop rotating. It's like the webpage never completely downloads. Any suggestions?

You would think that it must have some effect on the battery, but oddly enough, the update to iOS 8 actually helped my battery life, in spite of all of these hinky little issues that are taking place. In my experience, the activity icon is not affecting the battery in a negative way.
Another issue with IOS 8.1 that you may have seen is the loss of icon pictures on home pages. I get what I call a test screen similar to what you used to get on old tv sets on every one of my personal icons.
I know exactly what you mean. I got that as well. On a few of them, when I opened the websites using the generic test screen icons and then closed them, they changed back to the way that they should look. For the ones that did not change, I recreated the home screen shortcuts and deleted the generic looking ones - the test screen icons.
And don't get me started on iBooks.
For the very limited use that I make of the iBooks app, i haven't noticed any problems, but I rarely use the app. I don't read books on the iPad other than a few user guides and if they are pdf guides, they reside in more reliable and feature rich pdf apps on my iOS device.
I wish that I had the fix for the spinning activity icon, but everything that I try, is temporary at best. IMO, this is the buggiest iOS update that I have seen, and I have been using iOS devices since iOS 3 on my first iPad. I realize that there are plenty of people that are not experiencing issues, but I have seen a number of weird things that I wish I could fix. None of my problems are major, but they are annoying. -
My Ipad which has a capacity of 28.5 GB (and I have used less than 10), is telling me when I want to update the ios system that I have the latest version (which they say is 5.1.1). This is not true. As I need version ios8 to download apps. Can anyone tell me why I cannot download the latest version and why my ipad keeps telling me I have the most recent version? I went into my Itunes account and tried to update it there while connected, but it is also telling e I have the latest version (5.1.1) too! Why is this happening and what can I do to obtain the upgrade?
Unfortunately yes, though technology would never move on if it kept to older standards and did not strive to do more.
The app store always gives you the option to use a previous version of the app IF it is available for your device.

I'm desperately needing advice. New Mac. Used Quicken on my PC. Researched all software for Financial programs and Quicken is still the most recommended. I want to use Quicken on my Mac. The Mac version is not highly rated so I would need to partition my Mac. Has anyone done this for their quicken program and if so, which partitioning program did you use - Parallels, Fusion ware or Boot camp?

Virtual Box is safe and well developed, it offers similar or identical features to the paid competition, it may be a little less polished but that's all.

Snow Leopard machine will not allow anyone log in until reboot

I am having trouble with my Snow Leopard machines (Mac Pro with 10.6.8). Most of time Macs will work fine but then all of sudden they will not allow any users to login (Not even local users). I have tried 3 locals accounts and root account as well but none of them will work. I have tried ARD to remote in but it will not work. Also tried to use SSH but it won't let me connect.
The only work around this issue which I have just to reboot that machine then all users can login.
Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

When I see the machine sitting at login screen and I try to login using few different accounts (Local, AD, even root), it would shake and not go anywhere.
It will be really hard tell that something is goin on with that machine because there is no visible signs of any trouble until you try to login.
I am assuming that it should let login using local accounts even though there might be an issue with network which would cause a problem if AD accounts are used but nothing works at that login prompt, until I restart that machine.
Once the machine is re-booted then I can login with all the local accounts and re-check the active diretory settings to make sure that AD accounts can login. At this point problem will disappear for a while then few days later it will show up again randomly on different machines.
I have done all the OS X updates on all the machines using ARD but nothing seems to be working yet.
At this stage, couple of things come to mind:
Something went wrong with that lab image and I need to rebuild it which I will do it at later time. For right now I am only looking for temporary fix.
Using ARD, I have only done OS X updates but not the firmware update which might be causing this issue.
@Sanjampet: - I don't think that there is an issue with my password becasue it seems to be working after I have restarted that machine.

I have 2 seperate airport express systems on my network, each connecting to a stereo in a different room. suddenly, the one in the living room will not stop flashing amber, but the one in the bedroom works fine. I have already tried resetting it with a pin, resetting it while plugging it in, and trying to find it in airport express setup (the setup assistant can't find it at all).
What am i doing wrong?How do I configure the AX to connect to the hub's wireless network? It will only scan one base station Airport Express at a time in the Airport Utility. I think what I am trying to do is use the hub as a router to the two AX's. Is there a specific way to set this up?
To set up the AX to join a wireless network as a "Wireless Client," using the AirPort Utility, either connect to the AX's wireless network or temporarily connect your computer directly (using an Ethernet cable) to the Ethernet port of the AX, and then, try these settings:
Launch the AirPort Utility.
Select the AX.
If not already connected to the AX's wireless network, go ahead and switch to it when prompted.
AirPort Utility > Select the AX > Manual Setup > AirPort > Wireless
Wireless Mode: Join a wireless network
Network Name: <type in the network name/SSID of the wireless network that you want to join or select it from the pop-up menu>
Wireless Security: None OR, if you are using security on your wireless network:
Wireless Security: <Select the appropriate level of security for the existing wireless network: WPA/WPA2 Personal | WPA2 Personal>
Password: <enter your wireless network security password>
Verify Password: <re-enter the same security password>
Click Update to write the new settings to the AX. -
I recently did an update for my iTunes and now when I try to open it, I get an error that says that my data execution prevention is not allowing it to open. How do I fix this issue?
Try updating your QuickTime to the most recent version. Does that clear up the DEP errors in iTunes?

i have an iphone 4 and after updating it to the ios5 software, it will not allow me to activate nor allow me to leave the setup page. i plugged it into itunes and it is stuck there too... i cannot even restore it. does anyone know what to do?
I have had this same issue but thankfully fixed it. Follow he steps below:
Sync your iPhone with you iTunes therefore your info is backed up. Unplug your phone.
Go to Settings > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings
Once your phone has reset and come back on answer the question until it asks if you want to back up from itunes Click this then plug your phone in.
After everything has sync'd back to your phone everything should work fine.
