Did Apple change how the iPod shuffles?
When I first got my 120GB iPod classic, and had it in shuffle all mode, it would take the list of songs and randomize them as it played, kind of like this: Song 10, Song 54, Song 3050, Song 621, etc and it would occassionally repeat a song and what not. Which I liked, this was fine. Now, all of a sudden, it shuffles the song list first and plays them in order: Song 1, song 2, song 3, song 4, etc. Any one have idea why this does this or how I can fix it? I tried restoring my iPod and changing settings and nothing works.
Have you tried using the Genius feature? You have to turn it on in iTunes first, and the sync your iPod.

For more details about using it on an iPod classic 120GB, refer to your iPod's manual.
http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/iPod_classic_120GBen.pdf
When a good song is playing (or by selecting a song you like on a list), press and hold the center button to create a Genius playlist. Based on the songs you have on the iPod, the iPod will create a playlist of 25 songs that go work well with that initially selected song. None of my iPods are new enough to have that feature, but I use it in iTunes all the time. It's a great way to discover songs that that are already in your library, but you have totally forgotten about. It's kind of magical. Certainly better than "flipping through 14,000+ songs" to find the song you want to play next.

What happens when you try to change the Shuffle's name from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes?
Is your iPod set up to manually manage its contents. For more information, see your iPod's User Guide.

How many decibels can the iPod Shuffle (4th generation) go up to?
Hi! How many decibels can the iPod Shuffle (4th generation) go up to?
Hi pce55,
If you have questions about iPods and sound or decibel output, you may find the following pages helpful:
Apple - Sound and Hearing
Q. How can I set the Volume Limit on my iPod to a specific decibel level?
A. The Volume Limit setting lets you change the maximum output of your iPod’s headphone jack. The actual sound pressure level that you experience depends on several factors: the music you’re listening to, how it was recorded and encoded, the type of earbuds or headphones you use, and their placement in your ears.

I have an older model of the ipod shuffle, we forgot the itunes login and pass so we created a new one. My question is how do we transfer that music that is on the shuffle to the computer? It will not let me do anything... The music titles are all dulled out, the only thing i can do is listen to them but I cannot do anything else.
Please help thanks!maddkeeper wrote:

You do not. Content is permanently tied to the Apple ID that it was acquired with.
Sign out of the computer with the new Apple ID. STOP using the new Apple ID.
Sign in with the original Apple ID that the content was acquired with.

I woke up this morning and my bookmarks are functioning different, and the tool bar has changed. Instead of opening the bookmarks in a page on Safari, I get a menu on the side of the page. Then I have to go click on the bookmark icon again to get rid of the menu. Has a setting changed or did Apple change it for me and how do I get it BAAAAAAACK????????????
The first G4 models were basically a repackaged/upgraded G3 & came in 350 & 400MHz models. This design was called PCI version. The next G4 models were AGPs. This link http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/powermac_g4/index-powermac-g4.html has the specs/pictures of all the G4 models.

Using these links, you should be able to determine which model you have.
Removing the battery causes all settings in the internal memory to be reset, just like resetting the PMU/CUDA. See Mac PRAM, NVRAM, CUDA/PMU & Battery Tutorial

In the latest iOS updates, did Apple change the way Airplay communicate with other devices through Wifi?
Detailed:
We had a glitch with our Apple TV 3A 3-4 weeks ago and had to factory reset it (we reconfigured it with the exact same configuration than before the crash), it's now running iOS 7.0.2, I can't saw which version it ran before the problem though.
It's used in a business environment with 30+ iPads 2, half of them are updated to 8.1.1 and the other half to 8.1.2. We use the latest iTunes version.
Before the glitch that required a reset, all the iPads were detecting and mirroring when needed to the Apple TV, but now the iPads don't see the Apple TV in their list of Airplay devices anymore (but they detect various other devices inside our network).
I have to add that our Apple TV is able to navigate the movie store correctly, so I assume that it's not an internet restriction issue from our end (also, the APple TV do not see either any of the many iPads on its device-detection screen.
We successfully connected an iPhone 5S and an iPhone 6 through P2P Airplay, so it's not the issue, but when we connected the iPhones to our Wifi network (Same as all the other devices are using) the Apple TV suddenly disappeared from the choices.
Hence the reason why I inquire to the possibility that some changes were made in one of the latest iOS revisions, if so, we would require some details so we can adjust our Wifi configuration accordingly to allow the proper detection of devices.
P.S. I tried the basic troubleshooting of Airplay problems with no avail. Airplay button is displaying on the control panel, Airplay do not show the Apple TV at all (so it's not either the trick to display the Mirroring button), we also already proceeded to the suggested devices reboots, so my issue is quite more complex I believe.
Thanks in advance.PhotogYogi wrote:
I Have the same issue on a brand new iPad mini 2. My battery is only lasting up to 5 hours. I went on chat with Apple last night and they said my battery is fine and its a Safari issue. I'm literally losing 1% every 3-4 minutes. I tried recalibrating my battery, signing out of iCloud, shutting off all locations, turning off background app refresh, restoring network settings, restoring all, and finally restoring from iTunes with no luck. This is just awful. I got this iPad so I could use it on my long flight for a trip I have coming up, and unfortunately, it's not going to last that long, plus I'm concerned about how many times i will be recharging my battery because of this since battery's do have a life cycle dependent on the number of charges. This is frustrating and needs to be fixed ASAP and addressed by Apple.
By the way, Apple told me to bring my device to the Apple Store because it's still under warranty. That's great and all, but I'm going to waste my time if there is no fix for this issue.
Ok so you want Apple to address the problem, but yet you don't want to take it to them just in case they can't fix it? What if they can fix it? Complaining here certainly won't fix it. -
How do you connect the iPod shuffle to an iPad?

I've changed my Apple ID, but the iPod still insists on my old ID, and the old password no longer works, so how I do I get the old ID to vanish and be able to use the new ID?
- Go to settings>Store and sign out and sign into new account.
NOTE
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account. -
My ipod is somehow synced to another library, because I plugged the charger to a wall. How can I sync my ipod shuffle back to the original Itunes library without erasing my current data in the Ipod shuffle?
",the owner sold the ipod without clearing the songs and since the songs were not puchased from the itunes store then i believe i now own the songs"
Not true at all.
It does not matter where the songs came from, they are not yours and the previous owner does not own the right to distribute them to others.
The law is the same with downloads and cds and any other medium. -
Did Apple changed the Expose & Dashboard keys in the MacBook Pro?
The new MacBook Air came with two new keys, mission control and launchpad. Did Apple changed the keys in the MacBook Pro they are selling or are they selling them with no change, because since now the dashboard is in a different place the key is useless.
No they did not, but I fell like they should replace the icons on F3 and F4 since they are so much easier to get to using gestures.

My Itunes library has 700 songs. The Ipod Shuffle is 2 GB. How many songs can I get on the Shuffle...aproximately?
To see the exact size of your library, simply look at the status bar at the bottom. If you don't have a status bar, enable by going to View > Show Status Bar.
If you want to fit more on the iPod, use the capability to "Convert higher bit rate songs..." as shown below. If you set this to 128, you can fit around 500 4-minute songs in 2GB. -
Are theApple EarPods (all functions) compatible with the iPod shuffle 5th Generation 2GB?
There is no "5th gen" iPod shuffle, but it is compatible with the current 4th gen shuffle.
On the product listing for the EarPods at the Apple Store
http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD827LL/A/apple-earpods-with-remote-and-mic
the 4th gen shuffle is listed under Compatibility. -
remote no longer works the likely culprit is a missed IR Receiver firmware update. Back around version 2.1 or 2.2 of the Apple TV operating system Apple released an update that essentially changes how the IR receiver communicates with the OS. If your Apple TV missed that update and then later gets updated to the newer 3.0.X firmware your Apple TV will no longer respond to input from your remote, though the light on the front of the AppleTV will blink. The solution is to load the update manually, but unfortunately that requires ssh access on the AppleTV.

You are a genius. I can't tell you how much I appreciate being benifit of your knowledge and willingness to share it with others. A thousand times over, thank you!! I burned the little utility to a CD on another machine/setup, ran the little sucker and restarted in OS X like a hoot!!! About 8 minutes later I had the processor upgrade installed and see quite an improvment. Again, thanks and kudos be upon you,
