Did I lose my annual upgrade?

I know everyone is asking this, but mine's a bit different. I understand how the annual upgrade works and when I should receive it. But, browsing through the forum today I noticed someone said it needs to be the primary line (I only have one line) and have a monthy access fee of 49.99 or greater. I recently added a company discount to my account, so my MAF went from 59.99 to 47.99. Does this mean I lose my annual upgrade (Which is due for February 5th, two days from now) all because of my discount?

I'm in the exact same position as you.  Let me know if you hear anything.

  • Transfer Upgrades and Annual Upgrades

    Hi Community,
I have a few questions regarding transferring upgrades and annual upgrades.  First off, here's what the FAQ says:
What do I have to do to get a new phone with Annual Upgrade?
You must be registered for My Verizon, be on a calling plan of $49.99 or higher and have completed at least 1 year of a 2-year contract and agree to renew for an additional 2 years in order to get a new phone at a promotional price. It’s as easy as that.
Is this replacing New Every Two?
No, Verizon Wireless is providing an additional program to upgrade your phone. By taking advantage of the Annual Upgrade, however, your New Every Two calendar will restart.
I currently have a Moto Droid (secondary line on a family plan) which I purchased in November of 2009 on an Annual Upgrade. I resigned a 2 yr contract for the line (ending 11/2011) and paid the promotional price for the phone.  I was actually only 11.5 months into the contract but I think they let me slide   Anyway, I'm assuming my line should be eligible for another Annual Upgrade in November of this year?  I'm sort of confused because this line now has a different contract ending date than the primary line (how is that possible on a family plan, by the way?)
The primarly line on my account is currently eligible for a NE2 upgrade (contract ends 12/10/2010). Is it possible to transfer the NE2 upgrade to the secondary line, and still have the primary line be eligible for an Annual Upgrade?  How would transferring an NE2 upgrade affect the next upgrade eligibility for this line?  What would happen if the NE2 contract was transferred to the secondary line, and then we did not renew the contract for the primary line in December (again, I do not understand how this whole same-plan-different-contract-end-dates thing works)?
Also, if the NE2 upgrade is transferred from the primary to the secondary line, would I then be forfeiting any Annual Upgrade the secondary line might be eligible for in November?  Finally, is it possible to transfer an Annual Upgrade like you can with NE2?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I'm a bit confused, but let me try and answer your questions as far as I understand them....

I currently have a Moto Droid (secondary line on a family plan) which I purchased in November of 2009 on an Annual Upgrade. My confusion begins here, because secondary lines do not get annual upgrades - your plan has to be $49.99 or higher and secondary lines are $9.99.  I resigned a 2 yr contract for the line (ending 11/2011) and paid the promotional price for the phone.  I was actually only 11.5 months into the contract but I think they let me slide   Anyway, I'm assuming my line should be eligible for another Annual Upgrade in November of this year?  NO - secondary lines do not get annual upgrades...  I'm sort of confused because this line now has a different contract ending date than the primary line (how is that possible on a family plan, by the way?)  Each line on a family plan has it's own contract, and can have different end dates.  If you used the primary line's annual upgrade for the Droid in November of 2009 (which you almost HAD to have done), then the primary line's contract would end November 2011.  The contract for your line is likely what it was before  - since you haven't used an upgrade (if I'm reading this right).
The primarly line on my account is currently eligible for a NE2 upgrade (contract ends 12/10/2010). So it looks like they DID somehow use the annual upgrade for you to get the Droid and applied it to your line??  This IS confusing!!  Is it possible to transfer the NE2 upgrade to the secondary line, and still have the primary line be eligible for an Annual Upgrade?  No - if you use the NE2 you wil extend the primary line's contract for two more years - it will be one year before it is eligible for the annual upgrade again. How would transferring an NE2 upgrade affect the next upgrade eligibility for this line?  It would "use" the upgrade; the contract would be extended 2 years for that line, and on voice plans of $49.99 or higher it will be eligible for an annual upgrade.  What would happen if the NE2 contract was transferred to the secondary line, and then we did not renew the contract for the primary line in December (again, I do not understand how this whole same-plan-different-contract-end-dates thing works)?  The secondary line that used the NE2 would still have it's original contract end date - THAT upgrade discount can be used to get a phone for the primary line.
Also, if the NE2 upgrade is transferred from the primary to the secondary line, would I then be forfeiting any Annual Upgrade the secondary line might be eligible for in November?  Finally, is it possible to transfer an Annual Upgrade like you can with NE2?

Your questions and answering each one individually is getting more and more convoluted, so let me just try and give you a better understanding of family plans, and contracts, and upgrade options.
First, understand that each line on a family plan has it's own contract - they can have different start dates, and different ending dates, and different upgrade eligibilities.
You can do alternate upgrades - one line is eligible to upgrade, but the phone is used on another line.  Very commonly done, but can add to the confusion!  The contract and eligibility is tied to the line, but you can use any (Verizon/compatible) phone on that line that you want.  You can swap phones without affecting the contract at all.
The primary line on a family plan with a voice plan of $49.99 or higher can upgrade annually, sign a 2 year contract and get the 2 yr discount price, and forfeit the additional NE2 credit; it will be available 20 months into the two year contract.  If the primary does another annual upgrade, the NE2 is again forfeited until 20 months later.  The only way to use the additional NE2 credit is for the primary to wait to use the upgrade option at the 20 month point, rather than using the annual upgrade.
Secondary lines are eligible to upgrade at the 2 yr discounted pricing 20 months into the contract (4 months before the contract end date).
We have a family plan with 5 lines, varying contract end dates.  Two lines are currently eligible to upgrade; my son's line is eligible, but he has a new phone that he got using my husband's upgrade.  So hubby's line shows he's not eligible, but yet his phone is older and may need to be replaced soon.  He'll just use the son's upgrade.  Basically, we wait till someone NEEDS a new phone, and look to see which line(s) is/are eligible.  Sometimes it's the line that needs it, sometimes it's not.
Log into MyVerizon as the primary account holder, click on UPGRADE - and you'll see all the lines and when their contract ends and who/which is eligible for upgrade.

  • Annual Upgrade and AOL??

My boyfriend and I have decided to do the Assumption of Liability to cut down on some bills.  Right now I am eligible for an annual upgrade and I will be moving to his plan. Will I lose my annual upgrade or will it still be the same after I switch? I would do the upgrade first, but I plan on purchasing the thunderbolt so I dont want to lose my 1 year warranty on the phone.  Thanks for the help

if your a secondary line you will most likely loose the anual and the ne2 credit.  the contract date will stay the same

  • Did anyone else lose apps after upgrading to ios 5.0?

I just upgraded my iPod Touch (4th generation) to ios 5.0 and lost almost all of my apps.  They also do not show up when I connect to the App store through the iPod under the purchased tab.
Are they gone because they are not compatible with IOS 5.0 or is this just a glitch?

I did not lose any of my apps.  Were all your apps in iTunes?  The iOS 5 update does a full restore of the iPod Touch, so after the update is complete, iTunes begins the restore process and restores all your apps.  Then it will restore all your music, videos, then photos.  Are you using the same Apple ID that you used to purchase those apps?

  • Annual upgrade, NE2, and more early upgrade confusion

I see a lot of confusion here regarding upgrade eligibility and credits. I've tried to research to get a clearer understanding but there are still some things that are hazy to me.
Regarding NE2 - I found this: "Annual Upgrade was a marketing program available to customers who signed up for a two-year plan of at least $49.99 or higher. Enrolled customers were eligible to upgrade after one-year."
Great, but when exactly did this "marketing program" end? Is it only available to the primary line if there are multiple lines on an account? Does the $49.99 refer to JUST the calling plan, or total (including data/messaging/etc)?
I've seen plenty of articles like this talking about Verizon giving early upgrades to those who would normally not be eligible. Trying to figure out what the criteria is, it seem like this early upgrade offer was extended to customers who purchased phones last year, up to late 2010. Aside from that though, I can't really tell what makes a one customer "eligible" and the next ineligible. I was wondering if anyone had information on this that could clarify the issue.
Also, I've noticed many smartphone owners, even those that purchased recent phones like the Thunderbolt on contract, say that they've been able to get early upgrades. I'm just curous as to what qualifies someone for an early upgrade and what Verizon looks at when deciding eligiblity, since with everyone's different experiences, it seems like there aren't many hard and fast rules. Thanks for any help

Thanks for the replies guys, that gives me a much better idea of what's going on as far as early upgrades go. Like everyone else, I'd love to be able to upgrade a little early, but when I check upgrade date, it seems to be on the typical 20 month schedule. I was just wondering if I might have some sort of eligibilty though since I renewed my contract in 11/2010, well before the NE2 and annual upgrades were discontinued. I'm pretty sure I would meet the calling plan requirement since my plan includes voice/unlimited messaging/data, but I'm on a family plan and don't know that I'm the "primary" line. Although I'm 99% sure nobody else on our plan has been eligible for NE2/annual upgrade either...You can sign into MyVerizon to see which line on your account is the primary line. Or you can look at your bill. Normally, the primary line is listed 1st. If you signed a contract for your line in November of 2010 yet are not eligible for an upgrade, then you can be certain that your line is not the primary on your Family Plan.
It'd be nice if I could find someone to look at the acoount and offer some sort of explanation as to why/why not I'd be eligible for annual upgrade, but the only "help" I've gotten is reps telling me when my upgrade date is, which is already well known. Or telling me to open a new line if I really want to upgrade now, which just seems like a wasteful option, not really saving any money over the long term compared to just buying a device at full retail. Reps will NEVER give the annual upgrade date PRIOR to the line actually becoming eligible for the upgrade. This is because it is not a definite upgrade eligibility, but a conditional one. If your plan changes prior to your line reaching the annual upgrade eligibility, you could lose the ability to become eligible. Then you would just complain to Verizon that you were told you could upgrade at a certain date and are not able to do so.
For example, you have a Family Plan with 1 Primary(contract signed in 11/2010) and 3 secondary lines(contracts signed in 11/2010). The Primary line decides in July of this year to leave the plan to join up as a secondary on a different Family Plan. In this case, although the Primary WOULD have been eligible for an annual upgrade in 11/2011 had they stayed on the original Family Plan, it would no longer become eligible for the annual upgrade because it is now a secondary phone on a different plan and the $9.99 line access fee would not qualify for the annual upgrade. If this person was originally told that they would be eligible for an upgrade in November of 2011, they would then complain that they weren't able to upgrade now! Furthermore, the secondary line which was switched to the Primary line on the original Family Plan WOULD NOT be eligible for an annual upgrade in 11/2010 because it became the Primary line AFTER annual upgrades were discontinued in January of 2011.
I am (mostly) satisfied with the actual data/voice service I get from Verizon, but their customer service seems to be on the decline, I'm my experience at least. They seem to be more concerned with getting new contracts (customers) than providing services to long-time customers and doing what they can to keep them happy. Just an observation as a VZW customer of 12+ years. Not to say this isn't expected, as they're a huge company and didn't get where they are by NOT putting $ first, but as the carrier with the reputation of having the best customer service, I've found myself being less  and less impressed over the years.  Sorry to vent here, but hopefully honest feedback is something that could be at least a bit useful to Verizon.

  • How did I lose my New Every 2 promotion

Several months ago I was eligible for New Every 2.  My wife, the family share line on my account, was not eligible for upgrade and her phone broke.  Being the nice husband, I transferred my upgrade eligibilty to her since my phone was fine and she would be eligible in a few months.  She upgraded her phone and all was fine.
    A few months go buy....
I then go to upgrade my line by transferring her upgrade to me.  I am able to do this all online and it goes without a hitch.  However, now, neither of us are eligible for a New Every 2 discount when the 2 year contract is up in 2012?  Why did I, the primary line, lose my New Every 2 discount eligibility?

When you used your upgrade for her, (yes that was nice) your NE 2 went with it. She did receive it or got a phone that was free after discount and rebate. So the NE2 credit would not be used and would be forfeited.
In addition you are talking now is 22 months, the most the discount would have been for her is $50. The discounts changed in 2008
Go to your online account and pull up account documents and view the receipt for her phone. It may or may not be there.
The other option may be when you upgraded it was the annual upgrade. (It shows online you are eligible for an upgrade at 12 months and 1 day through 19 months and 30 days) By using this upgrade you forfeit the NE2 credit. This upgrade is as if you are at 20 months. You get two year pricing, just not the NE2 credit.

  • Did I lose all my email?  They're hidden?

After I upgraded from OS 10.6 to Mavericks, my Mac kept being slow, then it crashed, so I decided to do a clean reinstall.
I bought an external hard drive, copied all my data to the external drive.
I did this by connecting the external drive, and just "drag and copy" all the files and folders on my internal drive, to the external drive.
I then erased my internal drive, and re-installed Mavericks.
Here's the problem: I can't find my old emails on my backup drive.
Supposed to be under Library and Mail.
Question: Are all my emails "Hidden"
Is this true; that if I just copy normally, all my files, I don't get my email files?
A normal copy doesn't actually copy email?
If so, I consider that a terribly bad design, that backing up/copying normally does not copy your email messages.
    How irritating.
Did I lose my email by not knowing to copy hidden files?
    Thank you,
    Kevin

    What did the text say?
If you are the account owner, log into MyVerizon.  Next to the picture of your phone, you will see an "Upgrade" button, click on it.  This will tell you if you are eligible for an upgrade.  This could be your "annual" upgrade (which is for primary lines on Family Share Plans, and Individual Plans with a basic plan value of $49.99 or greater), a special offer, or your regular upgrade.  It's difficult to tell without more information.
As always, you can also call or e-mail Verizon directly to ask.

I believe that message can sometimes be a sign of a corrupt library file, unless of course you've tried to downgrade to an older build of iTunes. Your previous library file should have been archived in the Previous iTunes Libraries folder at the start of the upgrade process. Restore it as described in this post.

    Clarification:
I believe now you potentially lose all extensions, plug-ins when you use the new reset function, but you will let me know.
If that is the case, your find corrupt file method maybe better. However, I reviewed the two help articles and there appear to be more files than just the delete search.json file and a possible search.sqlite file in the Firefox Profile Folder. I am confused. Then I have to find the folders. I think help articles mentioned how to find the profile containing the files, but not sure.

  • Annual upgrade pricing?

I've read that a $49.99 calling plan on any line is required for an annual upgrade. So if your on the 65+ share plan with two lines, your not eligible because it's $40.00 for the primary line and $19.99 for the secondary line. Yet the account owner is billed $59.99. So why doesn't this qualify them for the annual upgrade?
    Thanks

If the value of the calling plan (just the Talk or Talk & Text portion) is less than $49.99/month, then that line does NOT qualify for an annual upgrade.
