Did myriad pro semibold condensed go away in indesign cc?

We just changed from CS3 to CC and it seems myriad pro semibold condensed is no longer available. Any ideas where it went?  We are PC-based.

Here's a list of the fonts installed with CS6. It includes Myriad Pro Semibold and Myriad Pro Bold Condensed. It doesn't include Myriad Pro Semibold Condensed:

  • Embedding Myriad Pro Semibold in Flash CS5

    I'm trying to embed and display text using the "Myriad Pro" family. 'Regular', 'Bold', and 'Light' display ok, but 'Semibold' shows no text. I get no error messages. I use exacty the same procedure as for the other styles. E.g. the following:
    var fmtUnit = new TextFormat();
        fmtUnit.font = "Myriad Pro Light";
        fmtUnit.color = 0x07251D;
        fmtUnit.size = 25;
    displays ok in 'Light', but if I change the font name to "Myriad Pro Semibold", the text disappears. Again, if I change it to just "Myriad Pro", I get the text in 'Regular'; if I then add fmtUnit.bold = true; I get it in 'Bold'.
    I've tried some other spelling variants, like "Myriad Pro SemiBold", "MyriadProSemiBold", and "MyriadProSemibold", all with and without the line fmtUnit.bold = true;, but nothing works. Is this some sort of a bug? I thought that with Myriad being an Adobe font it was the safest choice; I've embedded semibold fonts before and they worked fine; the problem here is that I have to use this particular font on client's orders.
    TIA, Ninna

    Adobe font designers, please tidy this up!
    Having compared various fonts, it turns out that Myriad Pro in question consists of 2 subfamilies: "Myriad Pro" and "Myriad Pro Light", and that, let not the font name mislead you, "Myriad Pro Semibold" is in fact "Myriad Pro Light" 'Bold', so the proper way of setting the TextFormat for 'Semibold' would be:
    var fmtUnit = new TextFormat();
        fmtUnit.font = "Myriad Pro Light";
        fmtUnit.bold = true;
        fmtUnit.color = 0x07251D;
        fmtUnit.size = 25;
    I hope this will help others with myriad problems.

  • Myriad Pro Semibold in FrameMaker 11

    I have installed Myriad Pro Semibold in Windows:
    But it will not show up in either the Family or the Weight list.
    Any ideas?

  • Installed CS6, myriad pro no longer works...

    As soon as I installed photoshop cs6 Myriad Pro stopped working. This sucks because its my main font choice. The flyer I was working on was built with Myriad pro and now the text layers need to be redone. I see myriad arabic but this is a major inconvenience considering all of my files need to be reformated.
    I was on the help centre chatting till they closed down. They had me uninstall, do an adobe cleaner, reinstall, but still no luck.
    I search my windows 7 font folder for meriad pro and it doesnt show up. I try to reinstall myriad pro and it says its already installed. I got the program "Font Expert" and it does show myriad pro is installed and ready to go. Illustrator CS3 does not let me use Myriad pro now either.

    Not sure but this may help:  I'm able to use Myriad Pro no problem on my Windows 7 x64 system, and this is what I have:
    C:\TEMP>dir c:\windows\fonts\Myr*.*
    Volume in drive C is C - NoelC4 SSD
    Volume Serial Number is 00ED-C11E
    Directory of c:\windows\fonts

  • Mountain Lion missing Myriad Pro font

    I've done clean installation of Mountain Lion and noticed that Myriad Pro font is missing. Did Apple remove this font from ML???

    Myriad Pro is an Adobe font. It's never been included with Mac OS.

  • Myriad Pro Font font not available?

    How do I get the Myriad Pro Font - there are a large amount not available?  Please help...

    Myriad Pro and Myriad Pro Condensed are available on Typekit for CC subscribers, at no extra cost.
    If you have CS6 or earlier, some fonts from the Myriad family (not necessarily the ones you need) were usually included with the program.
    Failing all this, you'll have to buy the fonts from Adobe Buy, download fonts | Adobe Type

  • Open type font "Myriad Pro" support in Java AWT

    Hi
    I have installed open type font "Myriad Pro" on my machine.
    When I use the following AWT APIs on jre 1.6, I dont get the open type font "Myriad Pro" in the font list.
    Code snippet
    java.awt.GraphicsEnvironment     ge = GraphicsEnvironment.getLocalGraphicsEnvironment();
    if (ge != null) {
         java.awt.Font[] fontList = ge.getAllFonts();
    The fontList variable doesnt have "Myriad Pro" font.
    My question is
    1) Is the open type font "Myriad Pro" supported by java AWT?
    2) Is there a workaround to get that particular font?
    Thanks
    Vikas

    When I print out the list of all the fonts java recognizes on my machine, all the otf fonts (about 70 of them) are missing including Myriad Pro. All the true type fonts show up. You might need to convert the Myriad Pro into a true type font to get it recognized in java.

  • Having issues with Myriad Pro Font with Office 2013 Products

    Have tried to install Myriad Pro Fonts manually on a windows 8 & 8.1 machine with office 2013 64 bit but it seems that the office products like work, excel do not pick up the right font even though its comes up as Myriad Pro in the font list.
    I have logged this Microsoft as well but still haven't had much luck. In Office 2010 it used to work fine as it a 32 bit product.
    Print Preview Word 2013
    You can see that when printed it brings the (C) from Page 2 to Page 1. Whereas in Word 2010 it is fine, it will print exactly what is shown above.
    Any assistance will be much appreciated.
    Thanks

    Unfortunately, there isn't anything much Adobe can do about this. It has nothing to do with what is in the Myriad Pro font itself, but probably has to do with improperly handling of OpenType CFF fonts.
    I myself have found a few bugs in Office 2013 in terms of OpenType CFF font handling, especially with regards to how Office 2013 saves PDF files (not when using the Acrobat “save as PDF” feature of Acrobat).
    Since this relates to print, you should also be aware that Office products do tend to reformat based on metrics at printer device resolution as opposed to screen device resolution and that such reformating often occurs if you compose with one printer selected and then select a different printer to actually print to. This particular problem in Office goes all the way back to the first version of Word.

  • Where can I download missing "Minion Pro" and "Myriad Pro" type fonts?

    For some reason I have fewer Minion Pro & Myriad Pro type fonts on my Windows 7 home computer than I do on my Windows 7 work computer, and I'm trying to do the same commercial project with both of them.
    I have subscribed to Creative Cloud for over a year, and am wondering, can I download them from Adobe?
    There are lots of free font sites on the web, but are they Legal, Safe, and Simple?

    Look for a "Saved Fonts" folder in Program Files\Common Files\ Adobe

  • How can I choose a font besides Myriad Pro as default when opening existing PDFs in Illustrator?

    I already know how to do this for new documents.
    But I work with PDFs generated in AutoCAD.
    When opening these files in Illustrator, the default font is always set to Myriad Pro.
    How can I substitute my desired font for Myriad when opening EXISTING files, short of copy/pasting into a new file? That workaround is just as time-consuming as resetting the font every time I work on a new document.
    Illustrator has to be referencing something when defaulting to this font. It seems unbelievable that this setting cannot be altered.
    Any ideas out there?

    We get autocad dies from a variety of sources, quite often the font is .txt which susbtitutes to myriad. I use find font  to substitue myriad to arial.
    Since no doucment is open, changing the New document profiles does not help to get rid of Myriad.
    You can record an action for this and set a hot key. The action is pretty fast

  • Myriad Pro Light usable in Photoshop but not visible in Font Book.

    I am having trouble locating a font. We've recently upgraded to CS5 and one of our designers needed a font I'd used in an earlier file. I saved the Myriad font family out for him, but 'Light' was missing from the family in fontbook, even though I am able to use it in Photoshop and all other Adobe programs. When he opens my files however, he gets a font warning saying he doens't have Myriad Pro light. My question is, why am I able to even use it if it's not in Fontbook, could it be stored some place else?

    That's just a text file containing cached information about fonts.
    If you're able to see the font in other Adobe apps then try this:
    1. Launch InDesign
    2. Create a new document
    3. Create a text frame
    4. Type some text
    5. Select the text and apply the font
    6. Go to the menu Type and click on Find Font...
    7. Select the font from the list Fonts in Document
    8. Click on the More Info button
    An area named Info will be displayed. There you will find the Path to the font file.

  • A question regarding using Myriad Pro as a web font...

    Okay so this is a pretty straight forward question (I think)...
    I've been using sIFR to replace many of the typical web fonts on the sites I build since much like everyone else I'm sick of being restricted to using only certain fonts.
    Myriad Pro is one of the many fonts I really like for building websites. I discovered recently by accident that Myriad Pro (and a few other variants in the Myriad Pro family) are part of Adobe Reader. This means that ANYONE who downloads Adobe Reader has Myriad Pro installed on their system and probably doesn't even realize it.
    Having discovered this it has come to my attention that there is a decent possibility I could use CSS and have Myriad Pro as a web font without even having to render it using sIFR. The problem is that anyone who doesn't have Adobe Reader installed wouldn't see the nice Myriad font.
    So my question is what do all of you guys think about this? Does anyone have any actual numbers in regards to how many people actually have Adobe Reader? If it was a higher percentage like 90% then I think this would be a safe solution.

    I don't know how many people use Adobe Reader, although I would think it's a fairly high proportion. Perhaps not as high as 90%, though. However, there's nothing stopping you from using Myriad Pro as the first choice in a font-family declaration. Browsers use the first available font. You could use something like this:
    body {
      font-family:"Myriad Pro", "Gill Sans", "Lucida Sans", Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;

  • Myriad Pro is choking Acrobat Pro 9 (Mac)

    Creating a Word document in Word 2008: Mac and using Myriad Pro as the document font. But when going to Print and "Save as PDF" and opening in Acrobat, I get the spinning rainbow and after 10 minutes have to Force Quit.  If I recast the document in Arial, there's no problem. But my communications are standardized on Myriad Pro. I didn't have a problem until a recent Update. Any thoughts?  Thanks!

    Got error message from Distiller:
    %%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: PK    ]%%
    %%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
    %%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%
    I think the point is that it was working a week ago and now it's not, yes?

  • Will using Myriad Pro help keep filled files small?

    I am a newbie as far as LiveCycle goes and have a problem with a form I created growing to 10 times the intial size because I used our company standard font Century Gothic throughout the document. If I change all the fields to Myriad Pro (the default), will I run into the same problem? I have some users with Acrobat Pro X, but more who would just be using the latest version of Reader to fill and save their forms. Any/all guidance welcomed.

    Fonts should have nothing to do with file size.  But, try it and tell us if it still happens w/Myriad Pro.
