I can't get my music from i tunes onto my i pod!!

I had music on an external hard drive which i have managed to put into i tunes but when i sync the i pod it doesn't copy them onto the i pod. Is there any method of getting this music onto it?
The music came from an old i pod and was saved onto the hard drive a while ago. I no longer have the old computer or i-pod to import the music again, just the copy on the hard drive. \if i remeber correctly it was put onto the harddrive using an i-dump programme.

Yeah, try asking in the Using iTunes for Windows forum rather than the *Mac OS X Technologies > iSync* that you've posted this in.
iSync is a Mac-only application that has nothing to do with iPods nor Windows.

Well, there are many ways. First concern though is if you have any music purchased from the iTunes Store. If so you must deauthorize the old computer before transferring your library.
If both computers have Firewire ports then the easiest way is to use Target Disk Mode. You can then copy your /Music/iTunes/ folder to the /Music/ folder on the new computer.
When you run iTunes on the new computer it should find the iTunes folder automatically. You will then have to re-authorize the new computer to be able to use your iTunes Store purchased music.

I had this happen to me also, I was in the game when I bought it and I was not getting it even if I restarted the game. I just reset my ps4 and it gave it too me when I started the game.

I could not get my music from my computer to my phone ever since I got a new MacBook, so I used iCloud to get it on my phone. Now my music is on my phone, but I cannot play my music on my computer because I cannot click on songs! Have you authorized your new Mac with your iTunes ID? Sign onto iTunes with your Apple/iTunes ID, and then click on Store at the top of the screen then on Authorize this Computer.

OK, well, seems like you need to lose the attitude if you really want help.
There are several ways to get music from iTunes on your computer to your device.
The easiest is to sync directly with iTunes by connecting your device to your computer, selecting the device, setting up your Profile pages, and then clicking the Sync button to sync.
First you want to open iTunes and under Preferences>Devices, make sure that you are not syncing automatically:
Make sure that box is checked.
Then follow the instructions in the article below for either your computer or your Mac to set up your Profile pages and to sync your music via iTunes:

You can also directly download music from iTunes to your device by going to the iTunes icon, going to "Purchased", and selecting the items that are not on your device that show a little cloud next to them. Click on the cloud and the music will download.
You might also want to familiarize yourself with your iPhone 5 manual. It has all the answers you cannot find on Google or by trying to just do it by brute force. If you would take a little time to read about your device and how to use it, you might not be so frustruated and unnecessarily snarky to people who are trying to help:

Purchased music does not count against your iCloud storage and you cannot get rid of them in the purchased tab.
What is backed up
You get unlimited free storage for:
Purchased music, movies, TV shows, apps, and books
Notes: Backup of purchased music is not available in all countries. Backups of purchased movies and TV shows are U.S. only. Previous purchases may not be restored if they are no longer in the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBookstore.
Some previously purchased movies may not be available in iTunes in the Cloud. These movies will indicate that they are not available in iTunes in the Cloud on their product details page in the iTunes Store. Previous purchases may be unavailable if they have been refunded or are no longer available in the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBookstore.

HT1473 Had to "repair" Itunes today after error messages would not let me open. I can no longer sync my phone to computer without deleting all of the contect on my phone. I don't want to do that! I am trying to get the music from my Iphone to my Itunes li

Little background:
Went to open Itunes, error message told me I was missing files and I was unable to open. I deleted Itunes and re-downloaded and received same message. I then "repaired" Itunes from my "unistall/change" program menu. The error message then changed to being "unable to read my library of music." So I fixed that by following some other forum directions (Went to My Computer/Music/Itunes then dragged the most recent Itunes Library selection to my desktop, then opened the folder under music titled "Previous Itunes library" and moved that file into that folder. Thankfully that worked... sort of... I have some music in my library. None of the music from my super old Limewire library, or any recent music from my phone. All of which was in my library last night. Not to mention the HOURS of cd's I burned to Itunes over the entire weekend. Hundreds (at least) of songs are missing.
So I attempted to sync my phone and was told it would delete all of the files in my phone to replace with files from my computer. Which is NOT what I want to happen. Trying to get music FROM my phone to my computer.
Can someone please help me simply sync my phone to my computer? And then somehow get the music from my Limewire library to my Itunes library? I know I may not get the burned music back... But that sure would be amazing.
I am at a loss. Apple won't help unless I pay them... So hopefully this looks familiar to someone!

This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .
