Did you really ever purchase Ringtones?

Great that iOS 8.1.2 fixes the Ringtones issue; but, did anyone every really buy into purchasing Ringtones vs. making them yourself with the myriad of freeware/shareware apps out there?  It seems strange but at least Apple is doing the "right" thing by fixing it.  I for one certainly was not affected by this because I for one never felt a snippet of a song that I liked to use as a ringtone was any different than owning already the entire song.  Obviously Apple thought so too after a brief period of trying to sell Ringtones separately.  Good luck with the restore for those of you affected.  I hope the iOS update works for you.

I've seen it happen before. Indeed, previously there was an announcement for the previous update which I (I'm sure amongst others) asked the Hosts to remove since it was out of date and unspecific. I suspect that the removal of that notice indicates iPhones with the 1.1.1 firmware are now well and truly in the distribution chain.
If it were me, I'd remove such announcements purely because after a while, the more often they are seen, the less people notice them or the ones that perhaps replace them!

  • Did you really release without coords working?

I have posted already two posts on the topic of SDO_COORD_REF_SYSTEM. For some reason, Oracle 10G R3 does not allow the ability to create an exact replica of a projection and specify param values.
I have tried numerous permutations of inserts on SDO_COORD_REF_SYSTEM and the OPS table with params. In all cases, looks as if this does not work with a custom copy of an existing. I am suprised that Oracle has released Spatial with these problems. Although, WKT is deprecated, there looks as if there are still dependencies in the latest release. No where is this documented except in random posts to the board. Also, the above is simple, copy an existing, specify a new coord ops with same method but different param, and viola, should work.
I challenge anyone to create a copy of an existing EPSG NAD83 to Lambert projection with specified param values per a chosen geographical area (not the EPSG one) and the correct parallels. Perhaps, I am wrong, or maybe there is an important step not documented. To this end, I look forward to SQL that does the above posted to the forum in 10G.
Much appreciated and thank you in advance for a working example.

  • Why did you break my phone w/ kitkat?

Last week I loved my phone.  Since 4.4.2 update I'm about ready to throw it away.
There are so many backward steps in the kit kat update I don't know where to begin...
Someone decided customers would accept Swype substitutes.  I disagree.  Google keyboard isn't the same.  But at least I understand that one as a financial decision... others just seem dumb.
A Google engineer changes signal strength indicators from blue to white "primarily because most users didn't know what the colors meant"?  Did you really have that many people asking "why is that blue? White is harder to read at a glance.
Another color choice - on my MAXX HD you have a nice multi-color LED for notifications that was working perfectly well but you switch it to all white? What do you have against green and blue? (Yes LightFlow is a workaround, but it's a pain and shouldn't have been necessary)
I had to reset/re-init all my bluetooth devices.  I'm still not convinced they're working reliably, especially when used w/ WiFi.
Ringtones had to be reset from scratch.
Waze voice prompts are broken.  Other apps are erratic but hard to pinpoint the symptoms... but the unreliability started with the update.
Text message background color of all white for what reason? What was wrong with the old format?
Message notifications in widgets don't clear as before, requiring extra steps. In general SMS navigation has changed.  Why?
    Battery life is noticeably less.
    Who approved this rollout?
If this is an indication of where Verizon quality is headed I'm looking elsewhere for my next phone.

Swype going away has NOTHING to do with Verizon. That has to do with Nuance licensing beta software to manufacturers and then that licensing expiring. It's not up to Verizon on that deal and all dependent on Nuance and manufacturers.
If you want Swype you have to purchase a license from Nuance(play store). Don't worry about the "warning" all keyboards give that warning even preinstalled ones.

  • If you passed the CF9 Cert Exam how did you study?

    Thanks

    Hi-
I passed Coldfusion 8 Exam with 96% and attempted Coldfusion 9 Just 2% away from passing marks and preparing myself again. I studied Ben Forta's Web Application Cosntruction Kit Only First 2 Volumes, coldfusion_9_dev.pdf and Lynda.com video tutorials. Consentrate on <CFSCRIPT> and ORM.

  • Has anyone ever lost a ringtone that they purchased and downloaded? I have; completely gone. And when I searched and attempted to download it again I got the message "you've already purchased this; do you want to purchase it again?"

Has anyone ever lost a ringtone that they purchased and downloaded a ringtone and then it just completely disappeared? When I tried to download it again I got the message "You've already purchased this item; are you sure you want to buy it again?"

You are aware that there the app may have downloaded and been placed on the second screen.  Not the main one.  Can you swipe to the right to see if it is there?

  • Why did you purchase a G5?

    Hi All,
I'm about to make the switch from the PC to a Mac soon! And I was wondering should I get a Power Mac or a lesser model. There is no specific reason why I want a Power Mac... Just general use.
I'm attracted to the Power Mac because of it's amazing power. I would like to know is there any specific reason why you decided to get a power mac G5 or did you purchase it for general use?
I may decide to use it for other things as well.
    Thanks!

    Hey,
Well - I purchased a G5 for much the same reasons as the others above - for its ability to just not crash!
I was getting so fedup with my windows laptops and machines crashing on such a continual basis - I could pretty well set my watch to them . . . one day my tower died, and I thought, thats it . . . I picked up the phone and purchased a shiny new Dual G5.
That was amazingly a year ago now, and still going strong - I was a bit worried about paying that much for it at the time - cos i'd been so used to cheapy windows boxes that sort of did what they were meant to and had just got into building my own etc . . . but it was the best £££ I have ever spent.
I have had no serious crashes - haven't had to reinstall anything or whatever - none of the crashing and bringing down the system nonsense... and when i first got it I actually found myself sat there with an unusual amount of spare time and nothing to do, cos it really was just working it just showed how much time during the day etc i spent sorting out problems with my PC.
I hope that helps! You won't regret getting one . . . I use it for press photography, family stuff, a dabble of music recording and the usual internet/music etc - and it is simply fantastic!
    Warmest Regards,
    Adam

  • I purchased ringtones on my iPhone and after I did the latest upgrade my ringtones are in  my library on my Mac but not in ringtone list on my iPhone? Help?

Hello! I have purchase itunes ringtones on my iphone and had been using them. They are in my library on my Mac and in my iphone, but they are not in my ringtone list. Ever since I did the last upgrade for the iphone my purchased ringtones are no longer in the list of ringtones so I cannot use them anymore!! Can anyone help??

    Hi lapincoya,
Open iTunes on your Mac and go to the iTunes Store. Make sure you are logged on. In the store, click on the Music tab, then under Quick Links on the right-hand side, click on Purchased>Songs>Not in My Library. You should see the song there with a little cloud next to it.
(Alternatively, you can go to your Library in iTunes, and click on Music, and then click on View in the top menu. You will see an option to "Show Music in the Cloud". If you click on this, then any music that has not yet been downloaded to the Mac will show up in your music list with a little cloud next to it).
Click on the cloud to download it to the Mac.
By the way, when you purchase music on the Mac, you can get it to automatically download to your device by making sure that Settings>iTunes & App Store>Automatic Downloads>Music is turned on, but you cannot get music to automatically upload to the Mac when you purchase music on your device. You have to do what is shown above to get it on your Mac if the purchase originates on an iOS device.
    Cheers,
    GB

  • How Can You Tell if a Song You WANT to Purchase can be a Ringtone?

Sorry, I would have posted this in the iTunes folder, but it's not allowing me to post there for some reason.
Anyways, does anyone know how you can tell if a song you WANT to purchase is available as a ringtone? I know that if you already have purchased songs then your library will have a ringtone column which let's you know if the song is available as a ringtone. What I specifically want to know is if there is any way to find out if a song you WANT to purchase is availble as ringtone BEFORE you purchase it. I have all appropriate ringtone boxes checked off in preferences and "view preferences." However, when I go to the iTunes store, none of the songs in the store have any information on whether or not they are available as ringtones. I don't want to buy a song, especially if I'm just getting it for ringtone purposes, and then find out that it's not available as a ringtone.
And yes, I have the latest version of iTunes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. With the purchase of my iPhone I am a first time user of iTunes (I used to use only Rhapsody and Napster). So far iTunes has been a challenge to use. I'm trying to get used to it, but it's difficult. And it seems like basic information, such as if a song is available as a ringtone before purchase, is not easily forthcoming.
Anyways, thanks to all if you have any suggestions.

Okay, I don't know why, but the bell was not showing on the iTunes store. I re-checked "ringtones" on the view preferences and reloaded iTunes and now the bell column is there. Thanks to the both of you.
BTW, there aren't very many songs available for rintones are there? I really miss Cingular's media.net. There's no reason why we shouldn't be able to access that. Media.net has way more options for ringtones then iTunes.

  • I'm fed up with buying albums on i tunes with tracks cut. Did you ever experience the same?

i'm fed up with buying on i tunes albums with cut tracks. did you ever experience the same? and stop buying at Apple's?

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the broken tracks from your iTunes library, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
If you don't see them straight away it may help to close and restart iTunes.
While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unticked.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

Ive purchased ringtones from Itunes.  They were working before I did the recent update.  I cannot find them on the iPhone and they are no longer assigned - I had five. I have synced several times and does anyone know where they are or how to assign them again?

On your iPhone tap Settings > Store
Make sure Music is switched on.
    Now reset your iPhone.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
