Did your imac come with a wireless keyboard that has dead batteries inside?

I bought my new imac yesterday but the pre-packed batteries inside the keyboard are dead already...I had to replace them with new ones.
Does it happen often? and why? I thought the keyboard should be off and in sleep mode when its new.

Is this a comedy central or what...
The inference is that if it is unusual to have dead batteries in a keyboard, then -
• the machine may have been in a storeroom for a long, long time. With batteries sitting long enough to go dead, there may have been some leakage from the batteries.
• some enterprising clerk may have swapped keyboards with a defective one brought in.
• more likely, it may have been put into use at one time, perhaps even as a floor demo, then repackaged and sold as 'new' rather than as a demo unit.
None of those instances is funny.

  • Does the imac come with a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse?

I am buying an imac tomorrow and I was wondering if I have to pay extra for a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse.

iMac's come with a wireless keyboard and magic mouse, as the standard fare. So you don't need to pay extra for them. I would recommend purchasing rechargable batteries and a charger, as the mouse does chew through batteries.

  • Did your xperia come with...?

    Hi!
I just bought a xperia Z2, new, and it came with problems with the vibrating unit from the beggining.
A day after receiving it, the screen stoped working. I rebooted the device and nothing: just a lot of colors and lines. I have been always prewty carefull with my device and it never felt or something like that.
After noticing that the screen was with problems I put the mobile in my packpack.
Yeasterday I went to the store to change it, but my device was presenting some small scrashes and they didn´t acept it.
Wasn´t my phone suposed to came with a plastic cover in the screen and back?
It´s crazy how it scrached so easely Do you think maybe they sold me an used phone and the old user peeled the cover off? :O
Did your z2 come with a plastic cover?
    Regards

But weren´t xperia z2 suposed to come with a plastic cover?
Not 100% sure if in all countries the box would contain a screen protector.......if it did then it would only be the front screen, but at the end of the day it is left up to the individual if they wish to apply a screen protector to their phone or not

  • New iMac 27 with the Wireless Keyboard and Magic Mouse

Is it just my keyboard or does the wireless keyboards that come with the iMac 27inch just SUCK? ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS losing its connection. The keyboard is ALWAYS losing its connection. The mouse, barely, but sometimes, maybe once every 2 days. The keyboard. Several times an feffin day. What gives? Should I have them exchanged or are others experiencing this BS?
Did Apple just RUSH out the new iMacs without properly QAing????? WT*?

I thought I read that with two batteries there is no problem-only with three.
I can only provide a sample of one but the new keyboard which came with my i7 is still at 100%. Regarding the Magic Mouse, I am on my second set of batteries. The i7 is on day 40 of use. I also have a Magic Mouse paired with my 24" 2.8 Intel iMac which has a wired keyboard. The 24" sits idle much of the time and the original batteries show 91%.

  • Did my iMac  come with imovie? if so where is it?

Ive just noticed Imovie, iphoto and garageband are not on this computer. This model did not come with an applications disc, was it suppossed to? I know it didnt come with a install software disc so i just asumed no application disc either.
Ive looked everywhere online, some say it did come with a disc others say it didnt. Some say you can download them from the app store free of charge but i cant do that either. Did these apps not come with my imac?
I read to restart the computer and open the mac os x utilities and click reinstall and jsut customize, but it wont let me click customize and i dont want to reinstalll the whole thing, because I dont know if itll do anything to my files.
I got my imac from Best Buy this past summer. Have had no problems with it but needed to edit a video and realized these were gone. I also have a 2010 version that has these apps so i never realized it before. My new Imac is a 21.1 inch (mid-2011) mac os x 10.7.5.
Any help at all would be appreciated. Are they available with this mac and how do i get them if so?

If you erase install OS X Lion or OS X Mountain Lion on a new Mac that shipped with OS X Lion or OS X Mountain Lion installed, you can download iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand from the Mac App Store.
After installation, start (up) from OS X.
Double-click the App Store icon in the dock.
Enter your Apple ID and password.
    Click Purchases.
If you haven't previously accepted your bundled iLife applications within the Mac App Store, you should see your iLife applications appear in the Accept portion of the screen. Click Accept.
You may be asked for your Apple ID and password once again. Your iLife applications now move to the Purchased section. These applications are part of the software that came with your Lion based computer. Your account will not be charged for them. Click Install to complete installation of your applications.

  • HT1338 I have a Mac iBook late 2007 w/ 10.7.5 which has a simular iMac problem with 'wake from sleep' that has be resolved. However, I cannot find an MacBook solution to my problem. Any ideas?

The abstract says it all. I close the cover of my MacBook and when I reopen it - the computer fails to attempt to connect to the last known wifi hotspot I was connected to or search for a known connection. I have to manually connect wifi to my home computer since upgrading at some point in the 10.7.x releases. The problem is described in the support for the iMac as having been resolved successfully, but I am interest in knowing if anyone else has seen and resolved this problem on a MacBook?

These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a panic, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
    In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of reports. A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic". Select the most recent one. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.

  • Resettting PRAM with a wireless keyboard?

I used to reset the PRAM by restarting and holding alt+command+p+r
My new iMac came with a wireless keyboard and this way of resetting is not working. Aparently the Mac starts before it hooks with the keyboard.
Is there any way to achieve this?

I haven't tried yet, but I would think pressing Command+Option+P+R shortly after hearing the boot chime when you see the keyboard green light (upper right corner) appear would work. Just like one has to do when choosing boot partitions (Option key at boot). I would suspect you would have to release the keys and then press them again for the next boot since PRAM resets need two boots. See this Apple article.

I am using Photoshop CS5 on a new iMac with a wireless keyboard.  I used to be able to hit F11 to perform a custom sharpening action but now the F11 key is the volume control key and I have tried everything to disable or switch the volume key. I have also tried assigning other function keys to initiate the action. Is there a simple solution to this? What am I missing?

Try unmounting the volume on your iMac using Disk Utility. Then mount it again. You may need to reboot the laptop or relaunch its Finder process (using the Force Quit window) after remounting the drive on your iMac. Remember that no process may be accessing any files on the drive you plan to unmount, or the unmount will fail. Unmounting and remounting an external drive on my iMac made it become visible on my MacBook Pro after it had disappeared.

  • TS3048 I am having a problem with my wireless keyboard on my iMac

I am having a problem with my wireless keyboard on my iMac.  Sometimes the keys seem to have a life of their own and I get a string of the same letter or symbol even though I only pressed the key once.  Does anyone know how to rectify this?

    Hello:
Try resetting the PRAM and SMC.
If that does not help, the KB is probably failing.

  • What system did my 'Mid 2011' iMac come with?

I have upgraded to Mountain Lion but I'm wondering if the system actually came with Lion or Snow Leopard?

    mulgravebrad wrote:
A friend has asked if he buys the machine can he reinstall Snow Leopard on it?
Good question. The Mid 2011 iMac can run Mac OS X Snow Leopard without any problem, but there's a problem: you need a special Snow Leopard version that it's only available on the Mac OS X DVD that Mid 2011 iMacs have got.
If your friend tries to call Apple to try to get DVDs for a Mid 2011 iMac, Apple will ask him/her for the serial number of the iMac. As your iMac came with Lion, Apple won't send him/her the DVDs he/she needs to install Mac OS X.
In conclusion, it's possible to install Snow Leopard, but things like a possible firmware restriction and the lack of the Snow Leopard version that your iMac needs may trun this into a very difficult task

  • Do any imacs come with a touch screen if not whats the best touch  screen for a 2012 13inch macbook air

Do any imacs come with a touch screen if not whats the best touch  screen for a 2012 13inch macbook air?
    Thx

    No they don't.
Apple's position is that touchscreens are for tablets and phones (in Apple's case the iPad and iPhone) and that OSX does not need a touchscreen - the trackpad and/or mouse is more flexible.
That may change in future but no one here knows.
In answer to your second question, there is NO touch screen available for the MacBook Air (2012 or any other vintage), nor for the MacBook Pro.  If you must have a touchscreen, consider an iPad with a stand and a wireless keyboard.  Alternatively, a Windows 8.1 laptop or desktop???

  • No function key with apple wireless keyboard

I recently purchased an Apple Wireless Keyboard. I have it working just fine with my macbook pro, and want to use keyboard special characters as a mouse because I'll be using my old laptop as a TV entertainment computer. The only problem is that the function key seems to not exist, which is crucial in order to use special keys as mouse movement keys. If I bring up the keyboard viewer and type with the wireless keyboard, the keyboard viewer shows the keyboard layout without a funciton key. I would expect something like this with a non-apple peripheral, but not a standard apple keyboard. What must be done to enable or have all of the keyboard's keys, function key in particular, recognized?
BTW - I did apply the firmware update for the keyboard, but to no avail.
    OS X 10.5.8
