Did your xperia come with...?

Hi!
I just bought a xperia Z2, new, and it came with problems with the vibrating unit from the beggining.
A day after receiving it, the screen stoped working. I rebooted the device and nothing: just a lot of colors and lines. I have been always prewty carefull with my device and it never felt or something like that.
After noticing that the screen was with problems I put the mobile in my packpack.
Yeasterday I went to the store to change it, but my device was presenting some small scrashes and they didn´t acept it.
Wasn´t my phone suposed to came with a plastic cover in the screen and back?
It´s crazy how it scrached so easely Do you think maybe they sold me an used phone and the old user peeled the cover off? :O
Did your z2 come with a plastic cover?
Regards

But weren´t xperia z2 suposed to come with a plastic cover?
Not 100% sure if in all countries the box would contain a screen protector.......if it did then it would only be the front screen, but at the end of the day it is left up to the individual if they wish to apply a screen protector to their phone or not

  • Did your imac come with a wireless keyboard that has dead batteries inside?

I bought my new imac yesterday but the pre-packed batteries inside the keyboard are dead already...I had to replace them with new ones.
Does it happen often? and why? I thought the keyboard should be off and in sleep mode when its new.

Is this a comedy central or what...
The inference is that if it is unusual to have dead batteries in a keyboard, then -
    • the machine may have been in a storeroom for a long, long time. With batteries sitting long enough to go dead, there may have been some leakage from the batteries.
    • some enterprising clerk may have swapped keyboards with a defective one brought in.
    • more likely, it may have been put into use at one time, perhaps even as a floor demo, then repackaged and sold as 'new' rather than as a demo unit.
None of those instances is funny.

  • Did my iMac  come with imovie? if so where is it?

Ive just noticed Imovie, iphoto and garageband are not on this computer. This model did not come with an applications disc, was it suppossed to? I know it didnt come with a install software disc so i just asumed no application disc either.
Ive looked everywhere online, some say it did come with a disc others say it didnt. Some say you can download them from the app store free of charge but i cant do that either. Did these apps not come with my imac?
I read to restart the computer and open the mac os x utilities and click reinstall and jsut customize, but it wont let me click customize and i dont want to reinstalll the whole thing, because I dont know if itll do anything to my files.
I got my imac from Best Buy this past summer. Have had no problems with it but needed to edit a video and realized these were gone. I also have a 2010 version that has these apps so i never realized it before. My new Imac is a 21.1 inch (mid-2011) mac os x 10.7.5.
Any help at all would be appreciated. Are they available with this mac and how do i get them if so?

If you erase install OS X Lion or OS X Mountain Lion on a new Mac that shipped with OS X Lion or OS X Mountain Lion installed, you can download iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand from the Mac App Store.
After installation, start (up) from OS X.
Double-click the App Store icon in the dock.
Enter your Apple ID and password.
    Click Purchases.
If you haven't previously accepted your bundled iLife applications within the Mac App Store, you should see your iLife applications appear in the Accept portion of the screen. Click Accept.
You may be asked for your Apple ID and password once again. Your iLife applications now move to the Purchased section. These applications are part of the software that came with your Lion based computer. Your account will not be charged for them. Click Install to complete installation of your applications.

  • Can I add a Solid State Hard Drive to a iMac 27' 2.7 if it did not already come with one?

I am thing about purchasing a brand new Imac 27" 2.7. I do not want to spend the money now to have Apple add one at time of build but may want to add one down the road...is this possible? Can I bring it back to Apple after the fact and have a SSD added???? Please help as this will affect my purchase decsion.

Apple will not do it for you however you may find AASP's that will. However remember these are not intended to  be upgraded as you are suggesting. First aftermarket SSD's will not work correctly and may overheat the machine, next this may would void the warranty. I would recommend reading the warranty. There are those that will argue with me on this point however I like to error on the side or caution. If the warranty is of no value to you and you just want to save a few bucks you can ask a AASP to do it.
Another avenue to take and the one I'd recommend is buying a refurbished machine from Apple, they come with the same warranty as a new machine and some do have SSDs.  You don't state where you are from but look at the online store for your country and you should find a section for iMac refurbs. There are many advantages to buying refurbs including saving money, getting a machine more thoroughly tested than new, warranty coverage and eligibility for AppleCare. In addition most people cannot tell a refurb from a new machine, the only difference to most is the box it ships in. One has colorful graphics the other is the same box and packaging sans graphics.  The only downside I can really think of is you may not get the exact configuration you want. Most machines I've seen only have the SSD in them, I haven't seen any with SSD and HD in the refurb section. Not a big deal, just buy FW800 or Thunderbolt EHD and you have a nice solution. Others assume the machine was refurbished because it was flawed in some fashion, that isn't necessarily the case and if it was it was fixed and retested. Machines enter the refurb program for a variety of reasons, last years model, wife makes a husband return an expensive toy, changed his mind and bought a MacBook Pro instead etc.....
If you really want a new one with an SSD I'd just save a few more bucks and get what you want.

  • Did my G4 come with a USB cable?

I just bought a printer and it didn't come with a USB cable. I'm wondering if my mac did...anyone...help?

    Mac Geek:
i If not I reconmend going to CompUsa or Best Buy or any real computer place.
I wouldn't recommend them simply based on the prices that they charge for USB cables. Full-spec A-B USB cables are made for 20 cents each in China, but sold for anywhere from $10-25 at retail as Belkin or other name brands. Go there if you need it today, but going for the most expensive cable is probably not something that yields a benefit. BTW - "USB 2.0" cables are also a ripoff if there's a huge premium price. Any "full-spec" USB cable should be capable of transmitting at USB hi-speed data rates although a "certified USB 2.0" cable at a slightly higher price isn't too big a deal.
I've bought full-spec USB cables for $1 online. You can find tons of retailers at Yahoo shopping that have full-spec USB cables for less than $2.
I've had good service for other cables from a company called Videoware (svideo.com). They have free shipping (from Wyoming) which helps if you have a small order. I've bought their S-Video cables as well as my iBook AV cable.

  • Did my PC come with a full version or free trial of Works?

How do I know if I only got a free trial with my new Asus? The description online, when I bought the PC, said it came with Works 9. But now it's asking me for a code when I'm using Word and I'm reading online that I probably have a free trial and not a full version, so I'll have to buy the full version. That's a little frustrating since I assumed it came with it (was a selling point for me).

    Software package included
With Adobe Acrobat Reader 8, Microsoft Works 9.0, Nero 8 Essentials and more.
Anyone know how I find out for sure? I never clicked a "free trial" icon or anything.

  • What did you itouch come with?

Just got a new itouch yesterday and was surprised that there was only a quick start manual. Is that correct or should there be a full booklet included?

I know what you mean. My husand and I just purchased our IPOD Touch 16 and was shocked that no owner's manual came with it. It is not like Apple to make you find it on the internet and then spend the extra cost of printing 94 pages out to have it at hand. We were disapointed. Plus, there is a new software update that you have to pay $20 for after spending $400 for the unit itself. I am finding it very difficult to move around the apple site. There is no place on the pages to return to the main page that I can find and nothing about deleting pictures or songs. I had wanted one of these for so long but am finding it a disappointing Valentines/Wedding Present. I hope you are doing better with yours than we are.

  • Comes With Music membership extension

I have been a satisfied (most of the time) subscriber to Comes With Music membership (UK) since 26 Ocbober 1969. On 26 September 2010 I got an e-mail from "The Comes With Music team" ([email protected]) which I have pasted below.
    -------------quote
    Hi tonyarro,
Your Comes With Music membership is about to end on 26/10/2010. To continue getting millions of free tracks from Nokia Music Store, you just need to renew your membership by buying a new Comes With Music edition mobile. There's no need to wait - when you renew, your new membership period is added onto the time you've got left on your current membership. Click here to renew now.
What's more, there are exclusive offers on new Comes With Music edition mobiles, just for members. Take a look at all the latest deals here.
Remember, even if you don't renew, you keep all the music you've downloaded so far and can continue playing it on your registered Comes With Music mobile and PC. But after 26/10/2010 you'll have to pay for any new music you download. So don't miss out on all the new releases or classics from the massive Nokia Music Store catalogue - renew today!
    All the best,
    The Comes With Music team
    -------------unquote
So I "needed" to buy a new mobile. The "exclusive offers" were two choices, a 5800 at UK Pounds 249 or a N97 mini at UK Pounds 409. I already use a 5800 and the N97 costs more than I care to pay for a 'phone.
By accident, I discovered that T-mobile UK are currently selling a PAYG 5230 Navi CWM at UK Pounds 99.99. Quite a bargain, so I bought one.
Now I am going round in circles on the Nokia/Ovi websites and in Nokia Ovi Player on my PC trying to enter the activation pin. All the instructions no longer work with the current Player. The only working option is to create a new account and allow my present account to expire. I am reluctant to do this because it seems likely that I will also have to buy a new PC if I want to keep and play the music files that I have already downloaded (only 61.2GB).
In the process of going round in circles I discovered a hidden option in the Nokia Ovi Player menu - Account/Music Account/Extend. I could have bought a 12 month extension to my existing membership for only £34.99! I didn't "need" to buy a new mobile at all! No wonder the "Comes with Music team" don't have a return e-mail address if they just exist to drive sales by telling lies!
Anyway, I already have the new mobile and the CWM activation PIN. I realise that many forum members have more desparate problems than mine, but can someone on the staff please advise me how to extend my existing membership account using the PIN and new 'phone that I have already paid for?
    Tony.

Sorry, I got it slightly wrong, it's £33.99, not £34.99. The whereabouts are in my previous posting. To repeat, within Nokia Ovi Player, on the top line click on account, then music account, then on the Extend green button and the message below appears. This might only appear when your subscription is due to expire within one month or has expired less than one month ago. This is obviously from the UK music store, (GB pounds) I don't know whether it is available in other Nokia territories. I haven't tried it - I found it too late. I now have a 'phone that I didn't really want and no access to transfer my existing music collection back and forward to my old 'phone or my new 'phone. This is by following the advice of the 'Nokia music team'. New 'phone = new account = new computer.
    Extend your subscription
You can buy an extension here
    £3.50 1 months for £3.50
    £9.99 3 months for £9.99
    £17.99 6 months for £17.99
    £33.99 12 months for £33.99

  • Will 3GS come with a Universal Dock Insert?

Does anyone know if the 3GS will come with a dock insert? Did the 3G come with one?
I have the original iPhone and it came with it's own dock. Now, however, I'm using the Griffin Simplifi and it did not come with a 3G dock insert. I just need to know if I should order the insert or if it will be included.
    Thanks.

I've seen a couple of "unboxing" videos on YouTube and they never show everything. It looks like a dock insert could possibly be under the headphones but nobody takes them out so I can see .
Not really a big deal I guess. Although I find it odd that the cheap iPod Nano comes with a dock insert but the expensive iPhone doesn't.

  • Does my iMac come with ny security softwares???

Hey everyone I am aware that macs are very safe, but I am a security freak, so I am wondering...
    1. Does my iMac coe with any internet security or virus protection? I was reading somewhere that hey had something that came with it.
However i am not sure which is why i am asking you gys!
    Thanks.

Yes, your Mac comes with security software...it is called Mac OS X. The Mac OS is built on Linux which means it is built with security in mind. Having set up and started your computer, you created an account which a password. That is one level of security since you cannot use Apple's installer software to install programs nor make changes to the main Library without that password. Malware has to ask you for help getting installed.
You probably created your account as an administrator account. I'd recommend that you consider creating a second account and make it a normal account. Use that account for day to day work and use the admin account for installing software that demands an administrative password. The advantage is that if any malware does slip in through nefarious means, it can only affect your user account and not the entire computer.
Don't forget that the Mac OS comes with a firewall built in. Look for it in the System Preferences under 'security'. I don't recall if it is turned on by default or not.
Other than this, do you really need third party security software? If you read the scary news (compiled by friendly companies that make computer security software) yes, you do. But the truth is, except for a couple trojans and a hacked program at a warez site, there have been no baddies found for the Mac in the wild. What has been found is easily avoidable by practicing safe hex - no special security software needed.
No question, this could all change very quickly but for now, go ahead and download ClamXav, an open source anti-virus program. It won't do any harm to the computer or your pocketbook. Then again, so far, it hasn't done me any good either.
