Didn't AppleCare used to come with diagnostic software?

I believe AppleCare used to to come with diagnostic software. I believe it was TechTools by MicroMat, am I correct? Why did they stop including it?
Is it good software and worth buying & having a copy?

Is TechTool Pro worth the extra cost?
Here's the macupdate.com download page for TextTool Pro as well as DiskWarrior and Drive Genius:
TechTool Pro
DiskWarrior
Drive Genius
I'm giving you those links because macupdate shows reviews from users of this stuff.  Of these three (and apparently all the same price) I would recommend DW ofer TTP.  I'm "neutral" on DG.  But read the reviews for yourself.  Another place for reviews is to check Amazon.
I view these utiilities as file system utilities more or less in the same category as Disk Utility.  The Apple Hardware Test can be used, as its title suggests, for attempting to validate your hardware (e.g., ram).

  • Using Python com with B1

    I would like to use python to generate invoices from a sales order and am hoping that someone has experience using python com with SAP Business One. I have tried the following:
    import win32com.client
    import win32com.client.dynamic
    from win32com.server.util import wrap as wrap
    vCompany win32com.client.dynamic.Dispatch('SAPbobsCOM.Company')
    vCompany.Server="SERVER"
    vCompany.CompanyDB = "SBO_Test"
    vCompany.UserName = "test"
    vCompany.Password = "test"
    vCompany.Connect()
    however I am stranded from here ...
    Help and tips would be very appreciated!
    Alex

    Hi Alex,
    I don't know Python, but the code you wrote looks a lot like Visual Basic (well, the second part at least does). Do you get any errors? The Connect method of the company object is a function. You should check if the call returns an error, like
    iResult = vCompany.Connect
    If the iResult value is 0 there is no error. You can even check
    if vCompany.Connected = True then
    afterwards.
    Next thing you need to do is create a document object. Herewith some VB code, so maybe you can translate - I hope this send you in the right direction
            Dim oDoc As SAPbobsCOM.Documents
            oDoc = vCompany.GetBusinessObject(SAPbobsCOM.BoObjectTypes.oInvoices)
            oDoc.CardCode = "C1000"
            oDoc.DocDate = Now
            oDoc.Lines.ItemCode = "A1000"
            oDoc.Lines.Quantity = 1
            oDoc.Lines.Add()
            oDoc.Lines.ItemCode = "A1000"
            oDoc.Lines.Quantity = 1
            oDoc.Lines.Add()
            oDoc.Lines.ItemCode = "A1000"
            oDoc.Lines.Quantity = 1
            If oDoc.Add <> 0 Then
                MessageBox.Show(vCompany.GetLastErrorDescription)
            End If
    Hope it helps,
    Adele

  • Audition CC not showing up ANY VSTs.. even the ones that come with the Software.

    Trying to use Audition to it's "fullest" and NOTHING is showing up in the Audio Plug-In Manager, VST or VST 3 fly out panels. I've scanned several folders with no success. I've also tried various suggestions, like installing jbridge, etc. and others mentioned online but nothing has worked. Any feedback on this? Thanks!
    -jason

    If you have this file:
    "C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Audition\7.0\AudioPluginManagerSettings.xml "
    Can you please send a copy of it to [email protected]?
    Secondly, can you post a screenshot of what your audio plug-in manager window looks like.  I'd like to see the folders you're scanning.
    Thirdly, what happens when you try add an effect that comes with the software:
    a) Effects > Amplitude and Compression > Amplify...
    b) Effects > Amplitude and Compression > DeEsser...

    I disagree with that. If you are behind a router there is no need for a computer firewall. All they seem to do is make it harder to network the computer with others. There is a reason it is turned off by default, IE it is not needed. But it is there for the paranoid among us.

  • Will a new iPhone 4 come with new software installed?

    I just ordered a new iPhone 4. Not a 4S. Will it come with updated software? Or will I have to update it myself?

    Yes... it will come with either 5.01 or 5.1 installed... most likely 5.1 as it's been out for several weeks.
    Apple does not have huge warehouses of merchandise just sitting around, it's likely the new iPhone 4 you just purchased came off of a cargo ship or out of a cargo plane within the last month directly from the factory.

  • Why didn't the Mac Pro come with Front Row?

    I have absolutely loved my quad-core mac pro. It's been one of the best-performing computers I've ever owned, but this issue has somewhat annoyed me for quite some time: Why didn't this computer come with Front Row?
    I wouldn't imagine an IR port would be difficult at all to install into the case, so why wasn't it? I suppose I could rationalize its omission as this being a computer aimed at professionals--but then again MacBook Pro has Front Row as well... so what gives?
    Is there any aftermarket ways of having Front Row work with your Mac Pro?

    Indeed, I'm going to try the Wii remote approach as soon as mine arrives.
    It will also usable as a MIDI controller in Logic
    Anyone know if it's easy to redirect the DVD player output to a second DVI card? I have two monitors on the X1900 and I have a 7300 spare which I could use to drive my projector.

  • Keeping and using the comes with music license onc...

    if i buy a comes with music phone, but the online service isn't yet available to my country, can i keep the license and use it once the service is available to my country?
    Greece Nokia X6 RM-559 v40.0.002

    Hi,
    Most of the time, the reason behind this issue is that a user has 2 services subscribed into, a Comes With Music service and a Nokia Music Store Service. If you sign up and you are being charged, that indicates that you are on the Nokia Music Store.
    The best way to make sure that you are logging in to the correct service, make sure to click on the Comes With Music button and then click sign in. If it so happens that after doing so, you are still being charged, it could be that the username and password for your Comes With Music account is different.
    You can ask Nokia Careline to assist you in retreiving these information. You would then receive it thru email with the correct username and the temporary password. The information you need to provide the representative for them to be able to pull up your account detail are:
    *IMEI
    *E-mail address
    *Mobile Number
    Hope this helps.

  • I bought an Apple Airport Extreme used and it did not come with any software disks. how would make it work without the software disk?

    Bought an Apple Airport Extreme used and it did not come with any discs. Do i need any discs? or is there another way to setup this airport without using a software disc?

    You can download the setup manual and software that you need.
    Look on the bottom of the AirPort Extreme for the Model Number.  It's A.......  something.
    Post back with the model number and the exact operating system you are running on your Mac or PC.

  • Why didn't my iPhone 4s come with Find My iPhone or hd 1080 video shooting? I just got it yesterday.

    I just got my iPhone yesterday, and with apple being the homepage for my mac, i was looking and noticed the iPhone 4s is supposed to come with the apps Find My iPhone and the hd 1080 video recording. Mine didn't?

    Find My iPhone is an app... http://appshopper.com/utilities/find-my-iphone. It allows you to find registered iOS devices from an iOS device.
    It's also a built-in feature that you turn on to allow your iOS device to be found.

  • Why didn't my MacBook Pro come with IMovie??

    I bought a new MacBook Pro in August 2014 and I need IMovie for a class and thought it came on my computer but it's not here.
    I've already searched through my computer and it's not here.
    It tells me I have to pay $15 to get it, and that is ridiculous considering it is supposed to come with my computer.

    Some computers just don't come with it.
    You know how many online articles about iLife say, "If your computer doesn't come with it, download it on the Apple Website."
    Exactly. Otherwise everybody would have it and there'd be no need to buy it!

    No. You don't need it. But if  you did you could use the freeware ClamXav 2.2.1.

  • Will iPhone 5 come with old software prior to 7.1 update

    I have the ability with AppleCare to replace iphone5 with bad battery...anyone know if the new iPhone already come with iOS 7 pre loaded or will I have to load it myself?

    Okay, thanks that's a help, I was thinking maybe I should wait a month or so , so that I could get the recent software already installed.... Sounds like it may not make any difference.... Just get it and install the update, although I heard it drains the battery badly too... Trying to get the best  opportunity to replace it, and I still have 6 months on the warranty..
    Any advice?

  • Stupid question: Does iLife come with server software purchase?

    I am considering moving to a server setup and also want to use the same machine as a workstation.
    Does the server purchase also get all the features of OS X?
    Mac Pro 2.66/6 gig   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Are you referring to the purchase of XServe - the computer, or XServer - The OS?
    I don't know about the retail box of XServer - the OS, but the XServe - the computer that I bought in February did not come with iLife.
    I wouldn't use my XServe as a workstation anyway, it's optimized for throughput (incredibly fast throughput - wheeee) not for day-to-day operations.
    Hope this helps.
