  • Difference between Import and Add in Itunes

    Hi can Someone Explain the Exact Difference Between Import and Add files To Itunes , as I have done Both and They Both seem to Work for getting Music on to Itunes , However somewhere I am still getting Doubles songs even Though I have No Double files or songs in Music Files ..
    so If someone Knows What is the Difference and What happens to the Files in Add and Import
    that would be Great
    Thanks mark

    Hi mark,
    You should use "Add to Library" to add audio files and other type media files. The "Import" functionality should be used to add playlists and data files (XML file, for example). However, it's also possible to add audio files, using "Import" feature.
    [This link|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301509] also explains when to use "Add to Library".
    Hope this helps!

  • Difference between Import and Add

    Just curious what the difference between Import and Add File/Folder in iTunes is? I know consolidate will create a copy of your files and put them into the iTunes library.

    Import is for audio files.
    Add to library is for MP3, AAC, Apple Aossless, aiff and wav files.
    I know consolidate will create a copy of your files and put them into the iTunes library.
    Close. The iTunes library what is in iTunes.
    Consolidate copies the files into the iTunes music folder.

  • SchemaBindings and import and include

    Have inherited a set of XSD files, various imports and includes, that trigger object factory collisions. I believe I understand that SchemaBindings are necessary, to compel the names generated by the object factory to not collide. But I cannot find a single example of an XSD that demonstrates SchemaBindings and import and/or include.
    The error I see is "elements of type 'import' cannot appear after declarations as children of a <schema> element".
    Ditto for "include".
    Please, please, I need an example, not an explanation or article.
    Thanks.

    As Curt stated, the keywords are written to the file itself and will not be cleared using the clear and import function in Keywords.
    Using the clear and import option is useful if you want to get rid of the default keywords or have a better new list for import at hand. If you already have assigned some of these old keywords to files and they are not present in your current list then they will show as italic in the keyword panel (usually at the bottom under "Other keywords") once a file with this old keyword is selected in Bridge.
    When a keyword is in italic then you have the option to make it again persistent in your new list using right mouse click menu or leave it as it is. Using the find option in the menu should provide you with the result of all present keywords in the files you are searching in, regardless if they are in the list or not.

  • Problem importing and including the subfolders without getting question marks

    i am trying to import a folder of vacation pictures. it has 5000 pictures and there are many subfolders. It imports them where i want but it gives me question marks on all the subfolders. And the subfolders are empty even though it tells me how many pictures are in the folder. I right clicked the question marked folders and point to where they are and it just says they are already there and do i want to merge the folders. In importing i told it to include the subfolders. I have tried this twice and each time the same results. Very frustrating to have to scroll through thousands of pictures. what am i doing wrong.

    try sync your folders and make sure you are not moving anything externally:
    Synchronize folders
    When you synchronize folders, you have the option of adding files that have been added to the folder but not imported into the catalog, removing files that have been deleted, and scanning for metadata updates. The photo files in the folder and all subfolders can be synchronized. You can determine which folders, subfolders, and files are imported.
    In the Folders panel, select the folder you want to synchronize.
    Choose Library > Synchronize Folder.
    In the Synchronize Folder dialog box, do any of the following:
    To import photos that appear in the folders but have not been imported in the catalog, select Import New Photos. If you select Show Import Dialog Before Importing, you can specify which folders and photos are imported.
    To remove photos that have been deleted from the folder but not from the catalog, select Remove Missing Photos From Catalog. If this option is dimmed, no files are missing. (You can choose Show Missing Photos to display the photos in Grid view.)
    To scan for any metadata changes made to the files in another application, choose Scan For Metadata Updates.
    Click Synchronize.
    If the Import Photos dialog box opens, specify the folders and files you want to import, and then click Import.
    also:
    Make sure that the option "Library" -> "Show Photos in Subfolders" is enabled. If it is not enabled, an activated folder will only show the photos that are directly in that folder.

  • Customs Inward processing - Link between Import and Export

    Hello ..
    Scenario in GTS 7.1: materials imported and finished products exported. Authorities want us to show how imports match the finished products exported.
    How do we see the link between Import & Export and how to see the consumption of the goods (from Import into Sales).
    Thanks
    Hymanti

    Hi,
    I would suggest that you migrate to SAP GTS 8.0 - because without that you have no standard functionality available for any Inward Processing. And in my eyes it makes no sense to build a custom made report for a functionality that is available in a standard SAP product.... ?!
    Have a look at the online help - maybe that helps you to get a better understanding about the GTS 8.0 standard for Inward Processing...
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_gts80/helpdata/en/49/3e3e90a8ad3eeee10000000a421937/content.htm
    In GTS 8.0 you have the functionality to report your imported components against exported products...

  • What is the difference between import and merge?

    When setting up my wife's new account on my son's MBP, I did not migrate all of her photos as they were in 2 or 3 separate iPhoto Libraries.  I researched this forum and found the best way to merge all of her libraries is to buy iPLM.  According to a post by Terence Devlin, if I don't use iPLM, thumbnails, previous editing, keywords, etc., will not be imported.  OK, but if we only want the originals photos and there was no editing or ratings or keywords, can't we just use the "Import" feature?
    According to Apple's instructions, the way to import one library is to first switch iPhoto to open using that library (hold down the option key when opeining iPhoto and selecting that Library).  Select your photo's, and the go to File>Export.  Then quit iPhoto and switch to the new iPhoto Library and go to File>Import and select the file that was made during the Export.  I suspect this is the approved method if you are not concerned with importing the edited photo's, keywords, etc.  Is this correct?
    I recognize from LarryHN's posts why you can no longer just drag and drop the files using the Finder, but if we don't use iPLM, I wanted to make sure I use the correct method to combine Libraries.
    BTW, speaking of using the Finder, do any of you remember the Multi-Finder?

    Yes that's correct. Remember you are not importing libraries or merging them or combining. You're exporting from one and then importing those exports to the other. That's getting the photos from one to the Finder. Then importing them.

  • Difference between Import and Export parameters in Function Module

    Hi All,
    I am unclear about the import and export parameters, when i create a function module. Can anyone explain abt this. However when i call the function module in any program the import parameters in Function module are displayed as exporting in program amd the export parameters as importing.
    Any help on this would be appericiated.
    Shejal.

    HI,
    Import parameter in FM is the value u provide to FM for processing.
    export is the value u get from FM after processing.
    when u call a FM in a progam the import parameter will appear as Export bcos u r giving value to the FM.
    and u r getting value from FM in import parameter(bcos u r importing).

  • Session variable being lost between parent and include file

    I am running into the following scenario: Page 1 includes page 2, on both pages a session variable is returned to the screen. On occasions, page 2 throws an error on the session variable even though it was successfully called on page 1.
    It only happens occassionally, and is very difficult to recreate in order to debug it in realtime. Has anyone run into something like this before? Thanks!

    I suspect it has less to do with page-inclusion, more to do with the code on page 2. Suppose, instead of using cfinclude, you had copied the code from page 2 into page 1, and made 1 page of it. Then the error would still have occurred. That's at least my theory.
    Have a look at how the code in page 2 handles the session. There is bound to be something not quite right about it. What kind of error do you get anyway?
    Runtime debugging can be as simple as this:
    <cftry>
    <cfinclude template="page2.cfm">
    <cfcatch type="any">
    <cfdump var="#cfcatch#"><cfabort>
    </cfcatch>
    <cftry>

  • Difference in filepath between "Import" and "Import from Inbox"

    Hi there,
    Our presystem is storing the FlatFiles directly in the Inbox of each location.
    From the Inbox the user is then able to process the step of the import, validate and export. like that we want to force the user to upload trough the Inbox their files.
    But some of the user try to use still the "normal" import way and choose one of the files on their local machine.
    How can i stop that?
    Is there as example in the Tool somewhere the filepath that indicates me where the file is coming from (so that i can stop the import process during the import) or is there any other change to solve it.
    I found the RES. Function PstrFilename, but if i upload the file trough the inbox or trough my local machine, the PstrFilename is always telling me the INBOX path.
    HELPPPPPPPP :)

    If you NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER want to see that upload option, then do the following:
    NOTE : This was done for FDM 9.3.1, if you have a different version, this might vary slightly. Also, probably a warranty voider if you're concerned about things like that.
    - Locate the file import.aspx on the fdm server.
    - Make a backup of the file.
    - Locate the following text :
    <componentart:pageview runat="server" id="Pageview2">
    <input type="button" id="buttonClientSideImport" runat="server" class="ButtonActive" value="~{Import}~"
                                            onclick="DM_ImportPage_ClientSideImportButtonClicked();">
    <asp:button id="buttonImport" runat="server" style="display: none"></asp:button>
    <asp:label id="labelSelectFile" runat="server" cssclass="Label">~{Select File:}~</asp:label>
    <input id="fileControlUpload" type="file" class="TextBox" style="width: 250px" runat="server"
                                            onblur="DM_ImportPage_FileControlUploadChanged();" onchange="DM_ImportPage_FileControlUploadChanged();"
                                            name="fileControlUpload">
    <asp:label runat="server" cssclass="Label" id="Label1">~{Import Type:}~</asp:label>
    <hyperion:dropdownbox id="dropDownBoxUploadFileImportType" runat="server"></hyperion:dropdownbox>
    </componentart:pageview>
    NOTE: If you look at the aspx file enough, you'll notice that they are using some sort of component to implement that tabs on the import page (View, Upload from File, Select from Inbox). The code above is the "code" to create the tab for the Import from File.
    - Depending on what you want to try you can either delete that entire block of code or you could disabled a specific component. If you delete that entire block of code, then the second tab should disappear entirely. If you want to do something else that isn't quite as drastic, you could disable the upload button from working by altering it from :
    <input type="button" id="buttonClientSideImport" runat="server" class="ButtonActive" value="~{Import}~"
                                            onclick="DM_ImportPage_ClientSideImportButtonClicked();">
    to
    <input type="button" visible="false" id="buttonClientSideImport" runat="server" class="ButtonActive" value="~{Import}~"
                                            onclick="DM_ImportPage_ClientSideImportButtonClicked();">
    You could also delete the onclick code, but you would also want to change the runat from server to client so that it doesn't post back to the server to do absolutely nothing. The codechange as shown above willl prevent the button from being rendered on the webpage by ASP.NET.
    - You MAY need to restart the server/webservice as it could cache the previous version of the file and you'd want to clear that out.
    I would probably just make the tab go away; however, if I wanted to keep the tab for something, I'd probably do something a little more U/I friendly than my above example :
    <componentart:pageview runat="server" id="Pageview2">
    As upload files are automatically placed in your Inbox, please use the 'Select File From Inbox' functionality to upload.
    </componentart:pageview>

  • Diferrence Between RRM and Clean Air

    Hello Everyone.
    I want to say thank you for read my post.
    Well I'm having some problems here, because I don't get the correct Idea for RRM & Clear Air. For me they do the same.
    Can anyone explain me the differente?
    Thank you.

    Hi Ordonez,
    CleanAir:
    With Cisco CleanAir technology, if an interference source
    is strong enough to completely jam a Wi-Fi channel, the
    system will change channels within seconds to avoid the
    interference, resuming client activity on another channel
    outside of the affected area. The system remembers
    intermittent interference from persistent sources such
    as a microwave ovens, wireless bridges, or wireless
    video cameras. Through tight integration with Cisco radio
    resource management technology, the CleanAir solution
    indicates the channels where these devices operate so
    that system administrators can optimize performance and
    minimize future disruption.
    Others claim to have integrated spectrum intelligence
    but can’t effectively distinguish between Wi-Fi and non-
    Wi-Fi interference. Spectrum intelligence products from
    other manufacturers typically falsely interpret any network
    noise as interference and randomly switch channels,
    which jeopardizes network stability and may reduce
    overall network performance.
    Source:  http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/solutions/collateral/enterprise-networks/cleanair-technology/aag_c22-594304.pdf
    RRM:
    The RF Group Name is an ASCII string configured per wireless LAN controller (WLC). The grouping algorithm elects the RF Group leader that, in turn, calculates the Transmit Power Control (TPC) and Dynamic Channel Assignment (DCA) for the entire RF Group. The exception is Coverage Hole algorithm (CHA), which is run per WLC. Because RF Grouping is dynamic, and the algorithm runs at 600-second intervals by default, there might be an instance where new neighbors are heard (or existing neighbors are no longer heard). This causes a change in the RF Group that could result in the election of a new Leader (for one or multiple logical RF Groups). At this instance, the Tx Power Threshold of the new group leader is used in the TPC algorithm. If the value of this threshold is inconsistent across multiple controllers that share the same RF Group Name, this can result in discrepancies in resultant Tx power levels when the TPC is run
    Source: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless-mobility/wireless-lan-wlan/71113-rrm-new.html
    RRM and CleanAir perform approximatley the same.
    Only difference being in CleanAir they have implemented spectrum level intelligence which can differentiate between different wireless interfering devices for ex: microwave oven , cordless phone. With this if youre using NCS you can easily plot and mitigate the source of interfernce with exact device type.

  • Problem with import tag in xsl files and include in xsd files

    Hello,
    I've been developing an application using JBoss as server. Then, i created an especific path for xsd and another path for xsl files. In both cases, i created a main file that include (xsd) or import (xsl) the other files. My problem is that i have to specify the exactly path where the imported xsl or the included xsd files are, even though they are in the same path as the main file. What i want to know is how i say that the other xsd and xsl files are in the same path that the main file that is importing them?
    here's an example of my import and include declarations:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
         xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">

              elementFormDefault="qualified">
         <xsd:include schemaLocation="../server/jboss/deploy/application.ear/pack.jar/xsd/schema1.xsd"/>
    thanks for your help

    yes, thats not the value returned of
    URL url = this.getClass().
                        getResource("/xsl//transformer.xsl");the expression i posted is an string i'm using to test.... but i think it's not incorrect, because if the files i'm trying to open are not in the path, he throws the following exception:

  • Import and organize by dated folders

    I have a Nikon D90 and a Canon sd750. What i would like to be able to do is use some program to download the photos into folders based on date automatically so that pics taken on same day by both camera will end up in same folder (eg Photos/2008-11-05/). Then i would like to have Aperture reference these folders with each date being a new album.
    I used to use Picasa which did this well but now i cant seem to make Aperture work this way without a lot of manually setting up folders.
    I often wait 2-3 weeks between imports and end up taking 15-20 pics every few days and need to use the date as the way i find my pics instead of separating into projects. They are usually random family pics and not projects like "nature" or "vacation". I know when an event occurred like birthdays and can easily use the date to find these.
    Any help and/or suggestions on what combo of software that I could use to accomplish this would be appreciated.

    See my post of October 24. Assuming you are using referenced masters that you will copy into the structured folders, chose import > import folders into project. Then under subfolders chose edit. Then build the proper folder name, e.g., yearmonthday. Ultimately you will get a project with daily folders within it.
    As noted, this works but took two steps. Perhaps if I used albums under the project it would be easier. And, you need to be careful to not delete your masters when redoing the project. I have not researched this further. Please post a better way if you find it.
    I suggest experimenting with a few copied masters.
