Diff bet REM profile

Hi,
What is the diff between REM profile 0001- W/o activity backflush & 0002 - with activity backflush. Is it activity backflush is necessary?

the only difference between the

is that in profile 0001 u cannot post the activities to the product cost collector while in profile 0002 u can when u backflush.
the activities which are posted in the to the collector can be done based on
>standard cost estimate
>preliminary cost estimate
standard costing is done usually at the start of the year and is not changed while preliminary costing calculates the costs for the production process which can be for a particular production version or for a combination of BOM or Routing.
so choosing between these two profiles depends on how u want the capture the cost while backflushing.

These are three ways of production in a industries can happen.
PP-discreet required where there will be discrete orders passing through a work center, here the capacity planning plays major role. i.e. if you have a lath machine, many orders are going through this lathe m/c and schedule plays very important role w.r.t lath as well as the product as the product has to go through many work centre. Every time the product many not be samecan be different, but same work center can be used for many products.
In PPPI- We are mainly concerned with quality parameters and Process management i.e control recipe is configured in this module. But the difference is the o/p is almost sameyou will not change the product, but every step is very impartment to achieve the product quality. And it is entered by operator and approved by shift supervisor through control recipe function.
REM- mainly to reduce the data input by person working in SAP and in this case we are bother about period end costing not the each order level costing as the process is repetitive and one order is sufficient for the wile life.

Yes you are right, but the complete process is as below:
-> First Sourcing Should be activated in the SRM
-> Then when users creates SC with source of supply (or depending on sourcing config) the SC is moved to Sourcing Cockpit.
-> Then in the sourcing cockpit, the requirements are completed and submitted for grouping.
-> And then if the program BBP_SC_TRANSFER_GROUPED is executed, then the grouping happens for the follow on document.
Note: The technical scenario is also to be considered.

Kanban : Changed REM profile regarding generation of postprocessing records

Dear Gurus,
I am trying make a kanban container from empty to full and i am getting the below error message.
Changed REM profile regarding generation of postprocessing records - RM887
I have not change the production version or rem profile. This error is when i scan them to FULL so I have not used "Execute correction in dialog box mode" option in OSP2. NO COGI errors...
Any advice is highly appreciated.

RM887- change rem profile regarding generation of postprocessing records.

Hi,
While doing MFBF (GR GI) I am getting error "change rem profile regarding generation of postprocessing records" Message No RM887. I am using same REM profile for many other materials for which MFBF is working fine. There are no COGI errors pendings for the materials for which I am gettinh error. But in MF47 there are some pending records which I neither can change nor delete, I am geting same message as in MFBF in MF47. So I have two issues here 1) How to adress error in MFBF. 2) Why records are seen in MF47 and not in COGI?

Please refer the OSS notes 383141,202654, 885798.
In OSP2 Transaction, check whether the REM Profile having the Tick for "Create Cumulated post processing records".
If this is not there, and allowing the entries to go to COGI with Execute Correction in dialogue mode "Optional" will be a problem

Check the material master for changes in REM Profile assignment, looks like the REM profile assigned to the material does not allow Post Processing records, so if there are errors during backflush like less stock, no storage location, batch not assigned, system would give error and it would not allow you to post the backflush.
If there are no changes in the material master for REM profile assignment then the assigned REM profile itself must have been changed in configuration in the path mentioned by fellow forum member. Please check and for "Error correction for backflushing" section definations.

REM profile Product Type - Cost Collector Order Type

Hi all,
I am trying to create a Repetitive Manufacturing Profile, at that time standard Production Type PKMN is automatically arriving from table V_T437S_GES.
and I would like to assign the cost collector order type (self defined) to the REM profile which I am going to create.
where I need to assign the cost collector order type for production type "PKMN" while creating REM profile.
If I copy the exisiting REM profile and I am able to get the cost collector order type that I am able to see in TABLE : T437S (Repetitive Manufacturing Profile Table). If I create the REM profile newly, I am unable to get the cost collector order type in the table T437S.
So please guide to the self defined cost collector order type for newly creating REM profile.

Order type "PKMN", is internally defined by SAP. Forr all cost accounting purpose, we would be using standard order type "RM01" when creating a new product cost collector for material. If required you can create your own order type say "ZM02" using transaction KOT2, please remmember you need to create with order category "05"- Product Cost Collectors.
This new Order type can be used when we are creating product cost collectors for a material.
I really dont find a reason why a new Order type is required to be created. Can you explain why?

As Khan told, business connector is old technolgy and it has almost same functionlities like in XI.
both are mainly used for converts idoc's into xml format....
GOA: Global outline agreemnts mainly used when srm is having multiple backend systems. with reference to GOA , we can create local contracts in backend systems ...

SAP Query
Purpose
The SAP Query application is used to create lists not already contained in the SAP standard system. It has been designed for users with little or no knowledge of the SAP programming language ABAP. SAP Query offers users a broad range of ways to define reporting programs and create different types of reports such as basic lists, statistics, and ranked lists.
Features
SAP Query's range of functions corresponds to the classical reporting functions available in the system. Requirements in this area such as list, statistic, or ranked list creation can be met using queries.
All the data required by users for their lists can be selected from any SAP table created by the customer.

ABAP Query, as far as I Believe, is the use of select statements in the ABAP Programming. This needs a knowledge of Open SQL commands like Select,UPdtae, Modify etc. This has to be done only by someone who has a little bit of ABAP experience.
To sum up, SAP queries are readymade programs given by SAP, which the user can use making slight modification like the slection texts, the tables from which the data is to be retrieved and the format in which the data is to be displayed.ABAP queries become imperative when there is no such SAP query existing and also when there is a lot of customizing involved to use a SAP Query directly.

Hi,
In SRM there are different Partner functions like REQUESTER, GOODS RECIPIENT, VENDOR ,LOCATION.
All the org units or users in SRM will have a unique identification number called Business Partner Number maintained in table BUT000.
The users can have differnt partner functions in differnt documents and accordingly mainatained in table CRMD_PARTNER.

Beta Camera Profiles installation problem

I downloaded Camera Raw 4.5 Plug in, which is needed for the beta Camera Profiles installation. CR 4.5 is definitely in the right place and working fine. According to Adobe FAQ, beta Camera Profiles belong in the Adobe folder in Camera Raw. I copy here:
Where are the new profiles installed on my computer?
On Mac OS X:
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles
I do not have CR 4.5 in my Adobe folder, only in Plug ins. I do still have CR v 4 in the Adobe folder, but not v 4.5.
My question is... does the beta version of Camera Profiles automatically put Camera Raw 4.5 in the Adobe folder, or do I need to do something to get CR 4.5 there. I've already messed up on the download/installation of Camera Profiles by moving it into CR 4.5 the plug-in folder. When I realized my error, I have trashed that.
Can someone give me some input here ? I'm clueless. This is not a BIG DEAL, as I'm getting along fine with CS3. I;m just curious to know how CR 4.5 gets in the Adobe folder>

You're the one who is mightily confused. :)

Assuming "ARC" is a typo for ARC, the beta camera profiles are used in ARC, inside Camera Raw,
not
"in lieu of". The new profiles, once installed appear IN the Calibrate Tag in ACR, alongside any profiles there may be there for your camera model from earlier versions of ACR, in the very same menu, not
"in lieu of".
If you do NOT have a raw file generated by a Canon or Nikon camera supported by ACR 4.6 (I'll forget about ACR 4.5 for good now), you WILL NOT see the new beta profiles appear in the dropdown menu in the calibrate tag.
You HAVE to be opening an image from a camera that is supported by the beta profiles or you will NOT see them. You'd see only the profiles from older ACR versions there.
It's akin to not seeing JPEG as an available format if you try to save a 16-bit image file through Save As, because JPEG does not support 16-bit images.
ACR must be presented with a file generated by a specific camera model supported by the beta profiles, or you won't see the beta profiles. It's that simple.
I suggest you take this discussion to the ACR forum, where it belongs, and where the ACR team hangs out, participates very actively and will be able to set you straight.
I don't think you understand how ACR works.
You are adding to the confusion here, Steph, because you are confused yourself. If you go over to the ACR forum, you will be able to interact with the creator of ACR and Photoshop, Thomas Knoll, with ACR programmer Eric Chan, and with the man who literally wrote the book on Adobe Camera Raw, Jeff Schewe.

O.K. I understand about v 4.6. At the time I installed ACR 4.5, it was the version Adobe said was required. What has happened since then I was unaware of.
Where I have the ACR 4.5 plug in installed is EXACTLY the path you describe, not the HOME folder, but in my HD. I can show a screen shot but don't think that works in this space. To follow my ACR4.5 plug in path, which is the same as you say above, here it is:
HD/Library/App. Support / Adobe /Plugins/CS3/ File Formats / Camera Raw Plugin
When I am in Bridge, the window shows Camera Raw v 4.5 at the top. So I must have it in the right place. I think you misread my original post as the path I copied there was copied from the Ådobe FAQ! link for the Camera Profiles, NOT for ACR. Sorry if I was unclear.
I totally understand that the beta Camera Profiles and ACR do NOT reside in the same folder. ACR is in Plug ins, and the beta Camera Profiles go in the Adobe folder under Camera Raw. But I do NOT have ACR 4.5 in the Adobe folder so that I can put the profiles there. So what am I supposed to do ??

u can create with the help of assistant given in SPRO

Hi,
In Repetitve Manufacturing , i was doing Assembly backflush.
If i want to do Activity backflush with reporting point, ( I have maintained Milestone control key also in Routing) whether i have to change my REM profile in Material master.?
If i am changing , system shows the error related to costing.
Help me out of this. I would like to understand this process clearly.

Assuming you have made the configuration changes to the existing REM profile in T.Code OSP2,now modify your routing/rate
routing with operations containing milestone confirmation set control key.
If my understanding is correct then I dont think a new PCC is required for the same material.Instead in KKF6N--->enter the
material,plant,select the production version,now click on change mode--->Shift+F6 and then click on cost calculator for pre.cost
estimate for the product cost collector(Shift+F1) and then save the data,now check in MFBF as I have explained in my earlier
thread.

Dear Naveen,
Check whether did you make any config changes in the REM profile in OSP2 or else assigned some other REM profile which
allows reprocessing.
In my understanding if already some reprocessing exists for that material in MF47,and if you try to change the REM profile and
try to backflush,this will give this error.
Check and correct me if i 'm wrong.
