Diffent durations and total floats in groupings

I recived a baseline schedule from a contractor which included a printout (barchat) and a electronic copy to import into my P6, however when i import the file i end up with different origina durations and total float in some of the groupings (not all).
For example onE grouping on the contractors barcchart indicates an original duration of 244 and a total float of 69, while my electronic copy indiicates an original duration of 302 and a toltal float of 86,.
Since all the dates (early and late dates) are the same i would assume that it has the original duration and total floats in the groupings are beig calculated from different calendars, so how do i get the my electronc version to match the data shown on the contractor's barchart

If you have your iPhoto iCloud prefs set to automatically import MyPhotoStream photos and then you also sync your IOS epic using Tunes you will have duplicates exactly as you describe -- if this is wha you are doing then uncheck ago import in the iPhoto preferences or stay doing the sync

I have rental apartments and I am building a spreadsheet to show how many months each tenant has occupied his apartement and how much rent he paid in total.
Column A shows the move-in date
Column B shows the move-out date
Column C shows the number of months : (B-A)/30
Column D shows the monthly rent amount
Column E shows the total amount paid for the duration of the tenancy : C*D
Everything works out fine except for the amount shown in Column E. Here is an example :
Column A (move-in date) : 2011-08-01
Column B (move-out date) : 2012-05-31
Column C (total months) : 10
Column D (monthly rent) : $500.00
Column E (total paid) : $5066.67
Column E should show $5000.00.
I know that Column C is the problem. Although the number shown in the cell is 10, the real number in the background looks like this : 10:3:12:00.
How do I get Numbers to multiply the amount in Column D by the number that appears in the cell (number 10)?

You are working with three types of value here: Date and Time values, Durations, and numbers.
When you subtract a Date and Time value from another, the result is a Duration. If both D&T values were entered as dates, the time part of those values will have been set to 00:00:00 (midnight at the beginning of that day), and the duration value will be an even umber of days.
The equation in column C assumes that all months have 30 days. Makes things neat, but unfortunately doesn't jibe with reality as defined by the calendar makers. B-A in your example returns 304d (304 days)
The result (5066.666666...) is correct for a rate of 304 days @ 500/30 days
The easiest fudge factor to make the number in C work out correctly is to convert the value in C to a number, then ROUND the number to the nearest whole number. For long periods, this will differ from the number of whole months, and it will not correctly calculate the results where the tenant moves in (or out) mid-month. If that's an issue, we can look for a more detailed solution (or check in the files to find a previous one, assuming I kept a copy).
Replace the formula in C with: =ROUND(DUR2DAYS(B3-B2)/30,0)

Intraday Bank Statement: Loading Balance and Handling Floats

Hello Cash Management & Bank Accounting Experts,
I have a query on the loading of SAP intraday bank statements and am wondering if you might be able to help please?
We have a requirement to load intraday bank statements multiple times daily. We are doing this currently and seeing the transaction records posted in our Cash Position worksheet. We use RFEBKA00 -> CM Payment Advice.
(Note: We are also loading the Prior Day bank statement once each day for each bank account using RFEBKA00)
However, for the intraday statement, there is a requirement to load the account Balance information along with the transactions from the intraday statement. We thought this might be possible by ticking the options 'Account Balance' and 'CM Payment Advice' on the RFEBKA00 program. However the system does not seem to load the balance information. We have seen the program RFEBKA30 (transaction FPS3) but are not sure what different functionality this would give as opposed to the RFEBKA00 -> CM Payment Advice option.
We also have a further requirement to cater for the float days in our Cash Position display. For example, the intraday transactions loaded might state a net cash position today of 100K in SAP. However, 20K of this might relate to Checks which have not yet cleared and will not clear for another 1 or 2 days, therefore these Checks need to be removed or catered for in the Cash Position, so that they don't display in today's actual Cash balance.
Is there a way of catering for the Balance display and the Float in SAP? Can you advise please the general steps that would need to be followed for that?

you would have to use ABAP to do this.
An example might be the cheque number if that is held say in the allocation field in the customer payment and you want to clear it, it will need to be on your bank statement at that level. However if that is not supplied you could enter the bank remittance on all of the cheques at the allocation level and on the bank statement they might just provide that information, so many cheques will clear against the total posting.
In terms of BACS you normally get the customer name, as they put it, and their reference. As such I would always recommend their reference as they should quote it, getting a Company's name as they produce can be hit and miss.
In terms of credit card information, it is normally either the authorization number of the transaction, or the credit card number.
Hope this helps, but you need to see what information you bank gives you, and what you currently record and see the best fit.

Total Float not rolling up correctly

Could someone please provide a refresher on how total float gets rolled up to the WBS level. I have activities with various Total Float values in the WBS (say 3 activities with Total Float values of 10, 130, 140). The high value shows up at the WBS (140). Reporting the float value of 140 masks the fact that I have within that WBS another task with a Float value of 10. Thanks!

Thanks for the explanation and while I understand that this is by design - the question I have is "is this good design". I think I understand why they have set it up this way, but this means that to use Total Float I have to necessarily deal with the task level. I cannot use the work package to see Total Float, since it is an inaccurate view of the real situation. Let me know if you have any useful tips on this. Thanks again.

Internal table in Excel output with Header and Total

Hi All,
I have a selection-screen of a report where there is option to specify the path of a file to be stored in local PC. This Report gives output in ALV format which displays header and total of columns.
Now, the requirement is, when the user specifies a path for the file in selection screen it should download in the specified location with header and total row into an excel format.
The issue is, I have the internal table with data without total and header row and the total is getting displayed in the screen through ALV feature. I am not sure, how to give the same output in downloaded excel with header row and total as it is displayed on screen.
Please let me know, if you have any suggestions.

Let us take the page you are using as PAGE1, you can achuve this using the Command Node. call the same page after 6 items as follows
1.create Table.--->Main area , Header and footer.
2.Declare a variable V_count type sy-tabix.
a.Now click on the table tab>Main Area>right Create>Command (insert a command node after the Line type you r using to print the data), in this COMMAND node give the condition V_COUNT = 6. GOTO>PAGE1 (it maens you r triggering the new page after the 6 lines.
b. after this command noder insert the Program lines heate increase the value of V_COUNT.
Maintain another variable the use that for page totals...
total can be doneautomatically by using the TABle-->CALCULATION TAB.

For a given account, how to get Open Balance for the year (Cumulative Ending Balance) and Total Ending Balance (Cumulative Ending Balance)?

Do not include some lines in Subtotals and totals in ALV

I am printing a report with all sale order details and Quantities( delveered ,conformed etc..) iam doing subtotals based on the material and Plant.
In this if the document date is less than the SY-DATUM, we should not include the quantity into the subtotals and totals, Only the orders wiht doc date GQ to Sy-datum then display them..
As of now I am using ALV grid display and doing the sums by
l_wa_fcat-do_sum = c_x. (field catalog) for the whole colom) but i want to avoid sum row from tehe calculation based on the condition.
<b>Do we have any way to achive this, like if we want to have separate color for a purticular Cell then we add an extra field in outout table and we link this field with layout-coltab_fieldname in the same way or any other way if we have</b>.

Bought a new Ipod touch and the WiFi does not connect. Tried Reset and total Restore, does not connect to Router on DHCP, tried Static manually and still can not get it to connect even though it registers as connected.

Using Airport for router, latest firmware, no problems with Iphone 4 or Macbook Pro or any other internet devices. After total Restore (factory settings) tried again, showed connected to router, but does not display "check" next to router but little rotating icon even though the wifi range signal shows connected at full strength and it says it is connected. Just can't seem to get it to generate an IP. Any solutions other than turning it on and off again? Not a Merry Christmas morning.

Ok, so, a couple of things: Denisefromwaleska and I have the exact same size/type/color iPod. Now wishing I'd bought the black one maybe...
Second, Airport is an Express and I have a second one that I carry with me when I travel. Tried to connect my Airport Express to the internet and could not although the iPod did recognize the router and tried to connect to the internet for some time, unlike my previous problem. Updated firmware on my travel router, still could not connect to the internet. Going to try to set up a manual Static IP on the travel router here in a few and conect through it although I predict the problem will persist. Back on the Christmas Present Airport Express router, it is back in play and working fine for all devices save the iPod.

At 60 and totally confused w/version . Not clue with how to use it and how to change it. My question - If a new version of i-tunes can be offered why not the older version as being a choice? Too simple or just impossible to do? I hate to drop i-tunes.

At 60 years of age and totally challenged by todays technology I find it impossible to understand i-tunes Version 11. Don' ask me to try to try go back to a earlier version ( as much as I would like to). I have read some of the advice given, as well as intended as it is, I don't understand the process. I don't want to drop i-tune but I will. I am sure my library is not as large as many others who use it but it is just as important to me. This really saddens me.
I do have two question if some one can help me. First, someone mentioned that if I go to previous restore point this might correct it. Yes or no? Secondly, if Apple can offer us a new version to download why can't they offer an older version to download. Too simple or impossible to do.

You can still drag and drop a song into a Playlist, in the same manner as before. Simply use the left-click of your mouse to select-and-hold the song (left-click-and-hold, don't release the click) and drag it to and then drop it (release the click) into the Playlist you want. (You cannot drop it into a Smart Playlist, you can only drop it into a Regular Playlist.)
... and here's a screenshot dragging the song "Lazy Orbit" into the Regular Playlist "Sat 4th June 2011". A small + symbol also appears in the drag, but it doesn't show up on screenshots. If the move is forbidden, a red slash through a red circle appears instead of the + symbol.
As for the Albums thing; in the Column Browser, right-click anywhere in the Column Browser header (see my screenshots in my previous post) and a menu appears. Deselect Albums on that menu to remove Albums from the upper Columns:
... and for the columns underneath (with the songs list etc.), right-click on that header bar and once again, deselect Albums from the menu that appears. The Albums column will then be removed from the lower columns list.

ICal events changing duration and start time after .Mac sync

I sync two OS X Tiger computers (10.4.2) using .Mac to keep my iCal calendars in order. Certain events following a certain date are mutating with longer durations and different start times after syncing between the two computers.
Anyone experiencing the same problem?
Any ideas?

Two different problems here:
Try one at a time:
Quit iCal. Delete iCal preferences in your User Library: ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.plist ( you'll have to reset iCal prefs after)
For those having problems with .Mac sync, reset the sync System Preferences/ .Mac/ Advanced tab.

Maintenance view: how to read EXTRACT and TOTAL table

Hi, All,
I created a maintenance view, as stated in the documentation, there are 2 internal tables EXTRACT and TOTAL available in running environment. Now I want to read a record from the internal table by using "READ TABLE...."
In my example: the table strucutre has A, B, C 3 fields.
So I tried to use "READ TABLE EXTRACT with key A=' xyz' assigning <fs>", in this case, the syntax check shows error saying that the specified type has no structure and no component can be called.
So how can I search a row in the table EXTRACT and TOTAL by giving a field value? Is there any other way to get data from the table?

Just add the option "CASTING" at the end of your READ statement:
"READ TABLE EXTRACT with key A=' xyz' assigning must be full typed or at least, be of the same type of the Z table from which is generated the itab EXTRACT.

Difference between free slack and total slack

Hi
I am using MSP professional 2010. I have a doubt in it how can differentiate free slack and total slack.
While scheduling the project total slack is always same as the free slack in Activity. And always 0 at summary task level

Free Slack is the number of days that an activity can have before it starts delaying the next (successor) activity.
Total Slack is the number of days that activity can have before it starts
delaying the whole project.
If you look at the snapshot below ID 4 have Total Slack of 4 days but no Free Slack (as it doesn't have any intermediate Successor other then the last task of the Project which is driving the Project Finish Date) but Total Slack of 4days.
Total Slack of 4d is showing that it has buffer of 4 days before it finally delay the over-all project finish date.

How to get subtotal and total per project in PS Module cl_gui_alv_grid

i have a requirement of getting Subtotals and totals of few column in the alv grid. as i have already used cl_gui_alv_grid class to display the grid , so what excatly i have to follow to get the values.
i have tried with :
wa_sort    TYPE lvc_s_sort
    wa_sort-spos = '1'.
    wa_sort-fieldname = 'POST1'.
    wa_sort-up = 'X'.
    wa_sort-subtot = 'X'.
    APPEND wa_sort TO t_sort.
    CLEAR: wa_sort.
And in fieldcat have passed X to do_sum field.
and
      CALL METHOD grid1->set_table_for_first_display
     EXPORTING
           is_variant                    = w_variant
           i_save                        = 'A'
           is_layout                     = t_layout

you did every thing correct.
but if you want the subtotals you have to do one more thing.
that is you need to mention the do_sum = 'X'. for the columns which you want to see the subtotals(quantities, currency etcc) in the fieldcatalog.
