Differece bet GLPCA and GLPCT in ECC 6 with classic PCA

Hi Ajay and Experts,
Thank you for helping me till now for all the issues in COPC and COPA we are all set.
I found once issue in PCA today as below, can anyone please give inputs.
I have reviewed all the threads but i want to specify my case first.
We are in ECC 6.0 with Classic PCA.
We are using Sales order substituion to get the PCA based on Region.
User dowsnot want to use transactions iKEK etc., for Balance transfers.
We crated on e kind of dummy PCA and assigned in 3KEH so all the balance sheet accounts posting with same.
we are trying get balances from GLPCT.
I observed the line items are getting updated in GLPCA but not in GLPCT, so our report get failed.
Can you please help me as early as possible.

Actually the values in GLPCA and GLPCT are getting updated as expected.
The problem is with my custom report, i have identified and working with my technical team.

Profit center data in GLPCA and GLPCT Tables

Hi ,
We are in ECC 6 but with classic GL and profit center accounting.
We have the documents posted with profit center as the assignment object. When i check the documents through document display i could see the profit center in it , but when i execute the transactions 5KEZ , 2KEE i couldnt fetch any data. Actually there is no data updated to the GLPCA and GLPCT Tables.
These accounts are Frieght clearing , benefits clearing etc...
My actual requirement is the ending balances of GL accounts by profit center subtotals/ GL Trial balance by profit center .

If these are balance sheet accounts, you need to run period end transactions like 1KE* to transfer the balances to EC-PCA
also, Tick the "Online Transfer" in EC-PCA config & Specify these accounts in 3KEH and then post a transaction.... It should get transferred online on real time basis

Amount in Table GLPCA and Table GLPCT is looking different. Hence in the report display and line item totals are looking different.
Can any one tell me how to correct these discrepency in GLPCT table.

Solution
The following explanation is using TA 1KEK as an example. This explanation is also applied to TA 1KEH, 1KEI and 1KEJ. However, the basis for reconcilation is different among these programs. Here are the differences :
1KEK total balance should reconcile with FI Account balance.
1KEH total balance should reconcile with Material Account Balance in MM.
1KEI total balance should reconcile with Asset Account Balance and Accumulated Depeciation Account Balance in FI-AA.
1KEJ total balance should reconcile with WIP balance caculated in the Result Analysis in CO-PC.
Example :

Note that GLPCT is referring to 'Totals table' of PCA and GLPCA is referring to 'Actual Line Items table' of PCA. FI account balances are referring to the Account Receviable and Account Payable balances.
In period 0, Balance Carried Foward program ( TA 2KES ) is run in PCA. Note that this carried forward balance will only be updated in GLPCT and not GLPCA. Thus, in period 0, there is a balance of 600 in GLPCT and 0 balance in GLPCA.
In period 1, there is an ending balance of 800 in FI. When using 1KEK to transfer the balance from FI to PCA , GLPCA will be updated as 800. As the period data transfer program updates GLPCT using a delta technique, it will calculate the balance using
current ending balance(from FI) - pevious periods balance(from GLPCT)
Thus, for period 1, GLPCT = ( 800 - 600 ) = 200.
For period 2, FI ending balance is 100. Therefore GLPCA will be updated as 100. GLPCT will be updated as (100 - 200 - 600 ) = -700.
Now, if you would like to know the total balance for period 1 in PCA, one has to add ( GLPCT Period 0 + GLPCT period 1 ) = ( 600 + 200 ) = 800. And for period 2, one has to add ( GLPCT Period 0 + GLPCT Period 1 + GLPCT Period 2 ) = ( 600 + 200 - 700 ) = 100. The total balance should then be reconciled with FI Account balances.
Report Group 8A2N
In PCA, report group 8A2N can be used to display the total balance of Balance Sheet items. However, this report is showing balances at Controlling and Account level. To compare the total balance with FI, 8A2N has to be modified to display balance at Company Code and Account level. This can be achieved by the following steps :
Use TA GR31 ( Report Writer ) to copy report from 8A-PCA46 to ZA-PCA46 in the same library.
Select 'General data selection' -> Select 'Insert Set' -> 8A-RBUKRS.GLPCT (release 4.0* and above) or 8A-RBUKRS ( release 3.0* ).
Save and generate the newly created report. When generating or executing the report, you will be asked to create a new report group. You can specify any report group name or ZA2N.

Error while exporting and installing an application with classic reports.

I'm exporting an application from my test enviorment to my productive enviorment, but every time I try this all the classic reports within that application only show half of the rows that they should return. All the other components appear to be functoning correctly.

Both the do the same.
Trnsfer routine will perform the required transformation in the transfer rules while the update routine will do the same in the update rules.
The purpose of these routines is when you wish to transform the incoming records by performing some checks and validations before the data get into the data targets.
A realtime example will be:
You bring in profit cemtre transaction data and for each profit centre record you wish to check if it has value type indicator. The business rule is if there is no such indicator, either reject the record or tag a value of 10.
Since this is to be checked for each record, we do it in the transfer routine or in update routine.
Also, you would have heard of start routine; if a logic is to be applied on the whole data package, then you do it in start routine.
In 7.0, all these things got replaced bu start routine, expert routine and end routine.

Easier and better ways to solve current problems with Acrobat?

Is there no better and easier way to solve the problems (installation, re-installing and crashing) with Acrobat? I really think that the ball is in Acrobat's corner right now, because I should not (for example) need to deactivate and re-activate my subscription in order to get AcrobatPro XI to work on my computer, let alone deinstalling an older version that (for now) does work, risking that in the end neither of them work. I need the (great) AdobeCloud applications to do my work as a freelancer, and I really cannot afford this kind of trouble with my applications, nore loose time repairing them. These are difficult times as it is.

Sorry, I can't. When I installed it there was no message that said I had to deinstall the old version first, and with other Adobe CC applications there had been no trouble at all, so I installed it with The previous version still on my computer.
After installing, neither of them would start up properly, so I deinstalled version XI, after which the old version worked again, but my Adobe Application Manager does not let me download the XI version a second time, so I cannot try again.

The description of the issue you originally presented isn't something that I've seen happen to Acrobat when installed as a part of Creative Cloud.
Could you provide a specific description of the behavior that occurs when you launch Acrobat XI now?

Win 7 Crashes with Beta Drivers and Sound pack 2.0

? Hello Folks!
Just updated to Win 7 Ultimate x86, build 7600. Unfortunately I have no sound at all. I installed the Beta Driver released by Creative on July and it freezes my computer during the driver install.. and freezes the boot up process when I installed the drivers in safe mode.
I removed them.. now my system works fine. I gave a shot as well to the 2.0 pack from Daniel... everything works fine.. 'til it gets into the driver install... the system freezes on the process. I tried as well with safe mode.. and the boot process freezes.
I checked the log for Startup Repair.. and it reports a bad driver. SO again I removed them, and system boots fine with no probs, BUT still no sound.
Any ideas fellas.. someone with x86 7600 build, with sound working?! I forgot to add that I have an XtremeGamer Sound Card

Changed the Sound Card to another PCI Port and worked fine. Now I'm using Daniel's driver set. Everything is going great at the moment.

Mixing ECC and NECC (Non-ECC) RAM Modules

I have a G5 Dual Core 2.0 with a pair of 512Mb Non-ECC (NECC) RAM installed and I want to upgrade to 3Gb. I'm thinking of getting 2Gb ECC modules and discarding the 1Mb NECC installed. But I came across a phrase in the Apple Manual of my G5 that states "DO NOT MIX ECC and NON-ECC Memory Modules WITHIN A PAIR." Does that mean I can mix ECC and NECC within Memory Banks and NOT within a PAIR? Because in that case I won't have to discard my NECC 1Gb and have a mixed 3Gb Memory!? I'm afraid to actually try it so I would appreciate your insights. Thanks much.

Yes. You can mix ECC and nonECC as long as you don't pair the ECC with the nonECC. The computer will just treat all RAM as nonECC.
You can keep the original memory as long as the two 512MB DIMMs are always paired with each other.

PDF forms and how they work with different Reader versions

I'll start this off by giving a little background information and describing a workflow scenario. I work as an InHouse designer for a company that keeps the majority of the employee population always a few versions behind. Fortunately, for us designers they keep us updated, but it doesn't always play nicely when you're saving your PDFs for older versions of Acrobat Reader.
What happens is that I create a form in InDesign, export a PDF, and then create my form fields in Acrobat Pro 9 on a Mac. After saving for version 9 I then take the PDF and test within the Windows environment which our IT is enforcing Acrobat Reader 7. The PDF opens ok and I can fill out the form, but I cannot save. I then open in Acrobat Pro 7 for Windows and then it gives the option to save or make modifications.
My questions really come down to whether or not Reader 7 is doing this because of how old the technology is, or if that would change if our IT would allow Acrobat Reader 8 or 9? Now I've looked at the Acrobat Pro 9 comparison chart and it states "Enable users of Adobe Reader® (version 8 or later) to fill in and save PDF forms locally." Does this mean that we just need version 8 or 9 and then people can save the form? What in version 7 is causing us not to be able to save? Did that change the technology in some way? I'm trying to figure out if we get IT to upgrade users to Reader 9 if this will solve the issue or will they have to install Acrobat Standard/Pro 9 to save a PDF form?
What other selling points could we make to our IT department that using Reader 9 is a lot better than using Reader 7? Any technology benefits, security or functions?

And for my standard disclaimer, if you are going to use the forms in a corporate environment, be sure to study and understand the usage limits for enabled forms (the limit is 500 uses, but there are caveats to that) in the EULA. Mostly the enabled forms are meant for very small time users. If you do not meet that requirement, Adobe sells another product that can enable files for unlimited uses but it costs in the tens of thousands of dollars and is a server side solution.

I enabled the usage rights and that did help with saving in Reader 7. I am a little concerned about the limit of 500 uses. Let me try and understand you a little better. I have a PDF that has a couple form fields and you're saying that the PDF can only be opened 500 times? I've never heard of restrictions on PDFs before. Does this happen after you place just 1 form field? How do I find out more information? I looked in the EULA, but found nothing.
Also, what does Adobe mean here "Enable users of Adobe Reader® (version 8 or later) to fill in and save PDF forms locally." Are they saying that you need Reader 8 or later to read a form or that you need Acrobat Pro 8 or later to enable the form feature?
It's all very confusing because one of the features they tout in version 9 is the ability to save forms locally, but once I enable the form I could save it with Reader 7. It's hard to tell if they are referring to Reader 9 or Acrobat Pro 9.

TOSHIBA Please Read - Beta Testing and Developer Community

Hello Jim,
I wanted to respond to your posting about the status of the update but the thread has been locked, so I started a new one. Anyway, I was wondering if there was a chance that we could get a beta test version of the software provided to experienced and brave individuals that can report back to the dev team with various issues and bugs to be fixed?
The public beta will not only appease the people angry at Toshiba for missing the deadline for the update, but also provide necessary feedback to the development team that can be used to create a more feature complete update. As an Android developer myself, I would take every oppurtunity to report bugs and issues and even provide code to help implement fixes for various issues if said source is availible. I believe it would be a great idea for Toshiba to create an open source development community on these forums and to provide us with bleeding edge code for us to implement and mess around with.
Such communities already exist on various sites like XDA Developers but not with vendor support, if Toshiba provided a vendor-supported developer community around the Thrive and other Android devices such as the Excite and Folio. With a vendor supported community, we would have a place where Toshiba can make better software for the devices and developers and brave regular users can participate in the process of getting updates for our various devices. I believe that moving away from such a closed development environment would not only help Toshiba develop better devices and software, but also give the company a leg up on its competitors who do not have such a community pitching in allowing for better software to be coded.
I hope that this message is read by someone at Toshiba that can make this happen, as the benefits are truly mutual, since Toshiba would be getting better software for its devices and developers get the resources and code needed to turn Toshiba into one of the best supporters of this great open-source project.

Thanks for the thoughtful message. Your points are well made and, while I don't disagree that there are mutual benefits, Toshiba has no current plans for directly building or supporting a developer community.
On the other hand, private beta testing for the Thrive product line was first launched last summer and I expect it to be ongoing as major software updates reach reasonably usable states within the development process. However, you won't see discussion of beta testing in the message boards because beta testers are under NDA.

I'm finding it frusrtrating and annoying since I cannot use Firefox 4.0 Beta 6. It works on other accounts excluding mine - What is this crap rigged or something? I have to resort to crappy Google Chrome and Safari since it messed up on both of my computers... Here's what it says when I double-click the short-cut: " Could not initialize the application's security component. The most likely cause is problems with files in your application's profile directory. Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard disk is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the application and fix the problem. If you continue to use this session, you might see incorrect application behaviour when accessing security features. " Although, it says the way to help - Can you like, dumb it down for me?
ALSO, here's what it says when I go onto http://runescape.com - It says: An error occurred during a connection to www.runescape.com:443.
Can't connect securely because the SSL protocol has been disabled.
