Difference becuse of decimals in MIRO

Dear all,
one of my client is facing issue because of  2 decimal point.
e.g.As against one PO we had asked for 3000 qty of material at rate mentioned in PO 7.31as per this cost comes to R's 21930/-where as the party invoice shows R's 21937.50 , where as the difference of R's 7.50
this difference has comes due to the 2 digit decimal point, if we take the decimal point upto 4 digit the cost will come exact as per the amount payable.ie the price if we take the cost as R's 7.1325 multiply by 3000 comes to RS.21937.50
please help to solve this issue,
our finance department needs 2 decimal point only,if we make to 4 decimal is any adverse effects.
thanks&regards
Syed

hi syed
Changing the decimals of a currency from 2 decimals to 4 decimals is not advisable. if you do that there would  be inconsistencies with the values all ready posted as the changes to the decimals are done at the global level. and changing the decimals in the production system is not advisable.
the work around could be increse the base quantity of the materials to 100... instead of each. ex your rate would be  123.4 for 100 pieces intstead of  1.234 for 1  piece
assign points if found use full

  • Quantity differences when performing IV via MIRO

When posting an invoice via MIRO we are unable to change the quantity to match the invoice. The orignal order was for 50, the good receipt was posted for 50 however the supplier only billed for 33. But when accounting tries to post the invoice for only the 33 they can not change the quantity to match so in turn the invoice does not balance.
I will add that this just became an issue when we upgraded to ECC6.0. Accounting was allowed to continue to use tcode MRHR in the previous 4.6C version however that tcode is no longer available in ECC6.0 so they have been forced to start using MIRO for the first time.
Is this by design in MIRO? Or is there a setting I can change that will open this up?

We managed to determine that the account assignment must be changed when posting.

  • Difference between showed decimals in a query and in a workbook

I have my query set so that all the KF have to be shown with two decimals. When i execute the query it displays it perfectly. But when i execute the workbook to which my query is attached, it displays the numbers as it wishes: one column with 1 decimal, other with 6 and the other with 3.
    Why would it do so?
I tried to delete the query and insert it again, but no luck..

    Hi,
Trying changing the key figures decimal places and them setting them back to what you want. Then save. The query editor assignes the decimal places based on the order in which they are changed. Make sure that if you want a certain KF to have a certain number of decimal places that you change it after you change the decimal places for the characteristic or structure you are comparing it against.

My client wants this this difference at the time of MIRO should be posted to the KDM account. I am invoicing in my Company Code Currency not in PO currency this is also a requirement.
Kindly provide me a solution for this.
    Regards,

  • Enter Text in Price difference line item in MIRO

    Hello,
My user wants to enter text in price difference account line item in MIRO. I tried to do it in MIRO simulation by doubl click on line item. But it does not show as we normally see in FI documents.
Please advise how can I enter text in price difference line item while doing MIRO. Since this account gets posted automatically.
    Regards,
    Tapan

    Hi,
You can create substitution with exit in GGB1/ OBBH
In exit, give a popup for this price difference line item and in that popup user can enter the text and then fill that text in the line item.
Your ABAper should be able to do it.

  • Price difference in PO-invoice to different Consumer Account

    Hello,
    I have the following situation:
    Purchase Order: 10 units  x 1000 USD  = 10000     (Account assigned : u201CKu201D)
Goods Receipt:  10 units (x 1000 USD) = 10000    (valuated GR against consumer account)
    PO u2013 invoice:     10 unitos x 1100 USD = 11000     (Invoice with price difference)
    1) Upon GR u2013 Accounting document shows:
    420021 (consumer account)     10000
    220021 (GR/IR)          -10000
    2) Upon entering the invoice, SAP standard makes the following account movements:
    123456 (Vendor Account)       -11000
    220021 (GR/IR) =             10000
420021 (Consumer Account)         1000       (Price difference) - Goes to the same consumer account !
I would like to know if I can configure in the invoice account determination a diferent consumer account  for  the price difference so that the acounting document will show:
    123456 (Vendor Account)                           -11000
    220021 (GR/IR) =             10000
    420055 (Consumer Account)         1000       (Price difference) - a different consumer account !
Anyone did this before? How, is it standard config of OBYC or does one need a user-exit to accomplish this?
    Thanks for any reply,
    Aart

    Hi guys,
    Thanks for your replies.
I customized in the OBYC the price difference account PRD (for the Valuation Category of the material) even changed for the particular material the Price control in the Material Master from "V" to "S", but still, the difference upon receiving the invoice (MIRO) goes to the same Consumer Account!
Maybe the PRD account only works in Stock Postings. Im using POs account assigned (Cost Center).
    Any clues?
    Thanks,
    Aart

    2) MIRO in USD  - Date 28.02.2011 (15:38) - Exchange rate :  0,72945 - Amount : 7533,57 USD (5495,35 EUR)
    3) MR8M from step 2 (USD) 10012010 - same day, same hour  ==> it generate another item with a difference in EUR in another account  like this :
    Amount : 7533,57 USD (5471,58 EUR)
                                                22,77 EUR
    Can somebody explain me why?
    Thanks a lot.

its's means "Differences course currency s / reception"
    MIRO
       PK = 31 / supplier account/ 7533,57 USD/ 5495,35 EUR
       PK = 86 / 406186              / 7533,57 USD/ 5495,35 EUR
    MR8M
       PK = 21 / supplier account/ 7533,57 USD/ 5495,35 EUR
       PK = 96 / 406186               / 7533,57 USD/ 5471,58 EUR
       PK = 50 / 607106               /            0 USD/     23,77 EUR
406186 : No invoice received suspense account
    607106 : Differences course currency s / reception
    I thinks it's clear now.

  • Is it possible to change the exchange rate after completion of miro documen

    Dear sap guru's,
Please suggest me user can raise an po with account assignment cateagory (asset) ie AUC Asset. at the time they are giving exchange rate is 39.41. after doing migo he setteled the AUC asset to Main asset.
Month ending he is doing MIRO At this time System is caputuring the exchange rate as 39.58. so the differnce amount is comes under AUC Asset.Already the AUC Asset is setteled but exchange rate difference amount is showing in asset. how do i resolved this one Kindly suggest me this is an urgent issue.
    Regards,
    Kumar.

    Hi Kumar,
    There are two solutions,
    1. At the time of MIRO, you can give the exchange rate in the details tab screen which can be an exchanged rate which was used at the time of capitalisation.  Hence, there will not be any differences between capitalised value and MIRO value.
    2. You can post the difference in the AuC asset and again you can distribute it to an expenditure or an assets based on business process / decision.
    Hope it clears your doubt.

  • Exchange Difference posting through MM

    Dear Experts,
We Procure Assets through Material Managment . we  have created interim asset class in FI and attach Asset number in PO while creating PO.
Now scenario is that we procured/imported  Asset through PO and created PO in Foregin Curreny on 01-06-2011. we did GRN of the Asset on 16-08-2011 and MIRO on 24/08/2011. FOregin Exchange on all these dates were as follow
    01-06-2011  106 PKR
    16-08-2011  116 PKR
    24-08-2011  119 PKR
now due  to difference in exchange rate at the time of MIGO and MIRO system automatically charge Exchange rate difference to Asset at the time of MIRO. While our financial experts argue that according to IAS21 exchange rate difference should be expensed out
we have assigned exchange rate difference(expense)  already in OBYC
    Requirement
isi t SAP standard functionality to charge exchange diiference  to Asset at the time of MIRO.
and can we expense out exchange rate difference at the time of MIRO and where configurational changes should be made
please also note that as payment invoice is cleared exchange rate difference is booked in exchange difference a/c which is accurate
    BR
    sajida

Hello Sajida, Did you resolve this?
There are a few things that you could do:
    1. Tweak the way that Exchange rates occur between MIGO and MIRO, that you can do it at SPRO > Materials Management > Logistics Invoice Verification > Incoming Invoice > Configure How Exchange Rate Differences Are Treated
In there you have the following options:
If you do not select a value: Exchange rate differences between goods receipt and invoice receipt
The system calculates the exchange rate differences from the difference between the exchange rate at the time of the goods receipt and the exchange rate at the time of the invoice receipt.
Choose the value X: Exchange rate differences between invoice receipt and assumed exchange rate
The system calculates the exchange rate differences from the difference between the exchange rate at the time of the invoice receipt and an assumed exchange rate. The assumed exchange rate can, for example, be valid for a whole year or a part of a year.
Choose the value N: No exchange rate differences, only price differences
No exchange rate differences will be calculated. Instead, differences from exchange rate variations will be considered as price differences and posted to a price difference account.
Since you are working with assets, all price differences move to the asset, therefore it may not help you, but nonetheless you should try it out.
    2. Modify the Account Assignment Category "A" (Asset) so that the Goods receipt becomes nonvaluated, with this, there won't be any change between MIGO and MIRO since there won't be any financial document on Goods Receipt. This solution is implemented is most of our clients.
    3. Creating or modifying the purchase order (before Goods Receipt) you can check the Indicator Exch.Rate Fixed in the Delivery/invoice tab at PO. with this indicator on, all documents posted to this purchase order will have the exchange rate shown in the same tab at the Purchase Order (ME22N), you can change this exchange rate also with the number that you need for MIGO and MIRO, no price differences will occur between MIGO and MIRO, but price differences for payment will occur has a standard.

  • How to change price differences account during subsequent debits only

    Dear all,
Has anyone succeeded in changing the price differences account during invoice posting (MIRO) according to particular customer specifications like having it changed only in case of subsequent debit invoices (this is a current requirement which we would like to solve)? Is there any BADI which influences the price difference account determination or is there only the PRD-related setup via account-determination-customizing?
    Thank you for your feedback!
    Kind regards,
    Klemens

They don't want to control the "PRD accounts" - they just need a solution to have different accounts available for the situation in which the usual PRD account assignment triggers. They need this because they get subsequent invoices (very late in the process) after the whole stock is already moved away and hence, the whole subsequent invoice amount would go to the price difference account; which they don't want to have.
