Difference between 0FI_AP_30 and 0FI_AP_4 Data source

HI,
What is the difference between 0FI_AP_30 and 0FI_AP_4 Data source.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
In addition to above differences. Below is the functional difference between 0FI_AP_30 & 0FI_AP_4:
0FI_AP_4 gives you accounts payable line items in your report. Here GL account shows the balances of particular types of  vendors/payables to which that particular GL account is been assigned.
And If subledger is activated in ECC, then by using 0FI_AP_30 you can get the break up of that particular GL balance according to vendors.
To make use of datasource 0FI_AP_30, subledger accounting must be activated in ECC.

  • Difference between passive and active data connection mode for  FTP

    Hi,
Does any body have the idea of passive and active data connection mode for the transport protocol FTP.
I have one server with FTP, I have to pick the data from this FTP to XI.
What is the difference between active and passive data connection? Does XI supports both the connections?
    Thanks & Regards
    Katta Mohan Reddy

    Hi
According to SAP Note - 821267
Q: Does the File Adapter support active data connections when connecting to an FTP server?
A: Up to and including SP14, the File Adapter exclusively uses passive data connections. Starting with SP15, active connections will be available.
    Difference between active and passive,
You can definitely refer to the site mentioned by Suraj

  • Difference between SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE and Open data set mechanism

Can you please help me to know the difference between moving a file using FM "SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE" and moving file using "open data set - transfer file- close data set" mechanism?

Through 'SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE' u can execute a External command  (ie.. UNIX /Windows/OS/400) In ABAP programming..
for Conversion Of Aplication server File/Move the file from one directory to Other...
The Command must be present in SM69.
Using this function module'SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE' , you can check the authorization of a user to execute a particular external command and run the command:
With the arguments specified in ADDITIONAL_PARAMETERS
On the target host system defined by OPERATINGSYSTEM and TARGETSYSTEM
If an SAP profile parameter is inserted in the portion of the command stored in the database, then the value of this parameter is substituted into the command. If an SAP application server is active on the target system (TARGETSYSTEM), then the profile parameter values are read from the profile that is active on that system. No parameter substitution is made in ADDITIONAL_PARAMETERS.
After substitution, the command is checked for the presence of "dangerous" characters such as the semicolon ( ; ) on UNIX systems.
If an additional "security function module" is specified in the command definition, this function module is also called in the course of processingebenfalls. This function module can prevent execution of the command.
If the authorization checks complete successfully, the command is run on the target host system.
Through Open Data Set u can read and write the file in the same directory...

  • Difference between master and transaction data

whts the difference and relaionship between master data and transaction data?why do we need to upload or extract both type of data's?cant we have only transaction data?please clarify

    Hi ,
    <b>Master Data :</b>
The data which do not change frequently and that is needed generally for many reporting .
Eg : Customer Name , Customer Address Etcc..
    <b>Transaction Data :</b>
This the data that is derived based on some master data
Eg : Creating a sales order for a Customer . So the transaction data will be
Customer Number , Order Quantity .
Why we keep master data as seperate in BW ?
Because master data is general , So we have to use that master data in many cubes for reporting purpose . Because for any report on Customer we need to give cutomer name , So we keep that master data outside of cube so that any cubes that need to use customer master can take that , So we can concentrate on other dimensions for cube ,Other wise we need to include customer name in all cubes which is reppetitive .
So the best method is to ....
    First Load master Data
    Then load Transactio data .
In the Bex part we combine the master data with transaction data so that we get combined data .
    Eg :
Master Data : Customer No , Cust Name , Cust Address
Tran Data    :  Customer No , SD No , Order Qty .
We first load the master data into master data tables /BI0/M*
Then we load tarnsaction data into Cubes .
Then in BEX Reporting we create query for Transaction Cube , But fetch some master data using Bex feature , So the report output will be
Cust No   CustName    CustomerAddress    SD no    Order Quantity
    Hope this Solves your Problem

  • Differences between archiving and inactivating a qualitative lookup within the Data Admin toolkit.

    Hi,
Can you please let me know what could be the difference between archiving and Inactivating the Qualitative Lookup in Data Admin Tool Kit.
    Thanks,
    Rohini M

When you inactive or archive something it is no longer available for selection.   The difference between inactive and archive is that inactive items will still appear available for searching purposes while archive items will not.
So lets say you have the following:
    List A
       - Item 1
       - Item 2
    List Items
If you were to inactivate Item 1, end users would no longer see it available for selection when using the qualitative extended attribute.  However when they search for specs based on the extended attribute they would still be able to select Item 1 so they could find objects that used that value. If you were to archive Item 1, end users should no longer see it available for selection anywhere - including searching.
    Lists
If you were to inactive or archive the entire List A, you would no longer see it available for selection when setting up qualitative lookup extended attributes.   I don't think there is anywhere you can search for extended attributes by lookup list currently out of the box so these would act similar.  If there was a place to search for extended attributes by lookup list then it would follow the same rules as above.

  • What is the difference between olap and data warehouse..?

    Hi All,
Is their any difference between olap and data warehouse..? Please let me know your knowledge about these. Thank you..
------------------------------------------------------------------------ Please mark it as complete, if you get the solution with this reply. TQ.

A data warehouse is a database containing data that usually represents the business history of an organization. This historical data is used for analysis. Data in a data warehouse is organized to support analysis rather than to process real-time transactions
as in online transaction processing systems (OLTP).
OLAP technology enables data warehouses to be used effectively for online analysis, providing rapid responses to iterative complex analytical queries. OLAP's multidimensional data model and data aggregation techniques organize and summarize large amounts
of data so it can be evaluated quickly using online analysis and graphical tools.

  • Media Foundation Source or H264 / AC3 differences between Windows and Phone 8?

I've got a working Matroska (MKV) Media Foundation Source for a Windows Store app (PC x86). It will play several different matroska files that contain H264 encoded video and AC3-encoded audio.  It even has seek support.  I've written the app
as a HTML/typescript Universal app with the MF Source as a C++ dll.
The problem is that the same code will not work on Windows Phone 8.  I can play videos that don't require the external MF Source (i.e. MP4 files and AVI files) just fine on both platforms through my app, but the same MKV videos that played on an x86
PC will not play on Windows Phone 8 (Lumia 920).
I looked at the specs for the Snapdragon processor and it should be able to support both H264 at 720p resolution and AC3 (2-channel only).  So I don't know what else I need to do to get this to work on WP8.  The audio I'm trying to play is actually
6-channel, so that made me wonder if it was failing because WP8 supports 2-channel max, but I would have thought the audio just wouldn't work and the video would play normally.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
*edit* - just to be more specific, I can parse the file and create the presentation descriptor without errors.  But when I finish opening the file and call the event for that, nothing else happens.  What is weird is that the javascript video player
never throws the "canplay" event, nor does it throw the "error" event.
    Lee McPherson

Thanks, not a bad suggestion to try.
On my Windows machine, I tried to get the MediaEncodingProfile via the createFromFileAsyc method.  With a known file type, it outputs all properties of the video and audio streams (bitrate, etc).  With an MKV file (container file with H264 video
and AC3 audio), I only get the type and subtype properties. Everything else is zero or null.  This is because in my MFSource, I only set the type and subtype.  This still allows the video to play on my windows machine.  I assume the
built-in MFTransform for H264 video-to-uncompressed video parses the stream to get the relevant information.  Likewise for audio.
On Windows Phone, when querying the file's MediaEncodingProfile, I get the same result. This is telling me that my MFSource will parse the file properly and set the subtypes for video and audio correctly.  Everything else is still null or zero.
However, the file does not play.  There is no returned event to the video element that it even *can* play.
Perhaps, I need to fill in the video and audio stream properties on the Windows Phone version.  I really don't want to because that would mean having to parse some of the underlying video and audio streams themselves, not just parsing the container
information.  (More work!)  But this is what I mean when I ask about the differences between Windows and Windows Phone... perhaps the WP8.1 & Windows MFTransforms are different?
*EDIT* - I do get a JavaScript Console error that I didn't notice before: AUDIO/VIDEO: unknown MIME type.  (VS error code: MEDIA12899)

  • What are the major differences between BODS and Talend ?

    Hi Friends,
We had a client meeting 2 days back regarding BODS project, But our client is showing more interest on Talend. We have explained/demo him on BODS.  Could any one please tell me, What are the major differences between BODS and Talend ? What are the features of BODS which are not there in TELEND ?
    Thanks,
    Bheem.

    Hi,
If you talk difference than Talend is an open source. SAP DS as huge advantage when it comes to loading data into SAP and it is more flexible with lots of inbuilt features and easy to load data into SAP using DS directly and extracting data from various legacy systems.

  • Differences between LSMW and BDC

    Hi All
Please can you give me the few points about the differences between LSMW and BDC?
    Awaiting for your Responce
    Praveen

Hai Check with the following document
    GOOD
THERE IS THREE TYPE OF METHOD IN BDC
    BDC SESSION
    CALL TRANSACTION
    CALL DIALOG
What is BDC or batch input
The Batch Input is a SAP technic that allows automating the input in transactions. It lies on a BDC (Batch Data Commands) scenario.
    BDC functions:
    · BDC_OPEN_GROUP : Opens a session group
    · BDC_CLOSE_GROUP : Closes a session
    · BDC_INSERT : Insert a BDC scenario in the session
    · The ABAP statement "CALL TRANSACTION" is also called to run directly a transaction from its BDC table.
It runs the program RSBDCSUB in order to launch automatically the session. The session management is done through the transaction code SM35.
The object itself is maintanable through the transaction SE24.
    BDC methods:
    Method
    Description
    Parameters
    OPEN_SESSION
    Opens a session
SUBRC (Return Code – 0 OK)
    SESSIONNAME (Session to be created)
    CLOSE_SESSION
    Closes a session
    None
    RESET_BDCDATA
    Resets the BDC Internal Table...
    None. Normally, for internal purpose…
    BDC_DYNPRO
    Handles a new screen
    PROGNAME (Name of the program)
    DYNPRONR (Screen Number)
    BDC_FIELD
Puts a value on the screen
    FIELDNAME (Name of the field)
    FIELDVALUE (Value to be passed)
    CONSTRUCTOR
    Constructor - Initializes NO_DATA
NODATA (No data character). The constructor is called automatically when the object is created.
    RUN_SESSION
    Launches a session with RSBDCBTC
    None
    CALL_TRANSACTION
Calls a transaction with the current BDC Data
    MODE (Display Mode)
    UPDATE (Update Mode)
    TCODE (Transaction to be called)
    BDC_INSERT
Inserts the BDC scenario in the session
    TCODE (Transaction to be called)
    BDC techniques used in programs:
    1) Building a BDC table and calling a transaction,
    2) Building a session and a set of BDC scenarios and keeping the session available in SM35,
    3) Building a session and lauching the transaction right after closing the session.
    BDC using Call Transaction
BDC using Call transaction involves calling an SAP transaction in back ground from within the ABAP
program. The process involves building an Internal BDC table containing the screen information needed to
execute the required transaction and then passing this to the Call transaction command (See code example).
The full procedure for creating a BDC program is as follows:
What is the difference between batch input and call transaction in BDC?
    Session method.
    1) synchronous processing.
    2) can tranfer large amount of data.
    3) processing is slower.
    4) error log is created
    5) data is not updated until session is processed.
    Call transaction.
    1) asynchronous processing
    2) can transfer small amount of data
    3) processing is faster.
    4) errors need to be handled explicitly
    5) data is updated automatically
    BATINPUT/DIRECT INPUT
A: Batch-inputs can not be used to fill the "delivery due list" screen because it is not a dynpro. This is a standard SAP report. A SAP report (check with "System -> Status") may be called using SUBMIT sentence with the appropriate options . It is preferred to call a report than create a Batch-input program.

The LSM Workbench is an SAP R/3 based tool that supports the one-time or periodic transfer of data from non-SAP systems ("legacy systems") to SAP systems.
The LSM Workbench helps you to organize your data migration project and guides you through the process by using a clear sequence of steps.
The most common conversion rules are predefined. Reusable conversion rules assure consistent data conversion for different data objects.
    LSMW vs DX Workbench
The LSM Workbench covers the following steps:
Read the legacy data from one or several files (e.g. spreadsheet tables, sequential files).
Convert the data from source format to target format.
Import the data using standard interfaces (Batch Input, Direct Input, BAPI, IDoc).
Experiences made in successful implementation projects have shown that using the LSM Workbench significantly contributes to accelerating data migration.
SAP provides this tool along with documentation to customers and partners free of charge.
Users of the LSM Workbench receive the usual support via SAP Net - R/3 Frontend (component BC-SRV-DX-LSM).
    Releases:
Version 1.7.2 of the LSM Workbench ("LSMW 1.7.2") available
    Attention : LSMW 1.7.2 requires an SAP R/3 system with SAP R/3 4.0 or SAP R/3 4.5.
Version 1.8.0 of the LSM Workbench (1.21mb) ("LSMW 1.8.0") available
Attention : LSMW 1.8.0 requires an SAP R/3 system with SAP R/3 4.6.
Version 3.0 of the LSM Workbench (1.89mb) ("LSMW 3.0") available for Web Application Server 6.10
Attention : LSMW 3.0 requires a SAP WAS 6.10. Functionality of version 1.7.2 and 3.0 are identical !
Version 4.0 of the LSM Workbench ("LSMW 4.0") integrated in Web Application Server 6.20
Attention : LSMW 4.0 is an integrated part of SAP WAS 6.20.

  • What is the difference between ALE and EDI

    Hi,
Can any one please explain what is the difference between ALE and EDI ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Ramana

    Hi Ramana
ALE: used to trnasfer IDOC with in the R3distributed system.
EDI: used to transfer IDOC from R3system to nonsap system
    IDOCS:
IDOCS are intermediary documents which are like CARRIERS of the data
IDOCs are safe to transfer data, but less volume of data. User is not allowed to access (modify) the data like PSA. IDOCs have 3 parts.
    1. Control Record - SOURCE & TARGET details,
    EDI
EDI concept in SD: the EDI concept is intended to realize the sales and distribution process completely automatically with the help of electronical documents. These documents are sent from one customer to another, are processed mostly on the background and give a possibility to realize the sales process extremely efficiently.
While IDocs have to be understood as a data exchange protocol, EDI and ALE
are typical use cases for IDocs. R/3 uses IDocs for both EDI and ALE to
deliver data to the receiving system.
