Difference Between Amount in Doc Curr. and Amount in Second Local Curr.

Dear Moderators:
When we did GR, system will generate one FI document authomatically, I got a question about the amount in FI document, the background is:
Document currency is EUR
Local currency is CNY
The maintained exchange rate in system is 1 EUR = 10.052 CNY;
After done GR, got the PPV item line of FI document as follows: e.g.
PPV G/L account    Amount in doc. curr.  Amount in local. curr.  Amount in second curr.
PPV                       840                          8,378.55                 833.50
The quotient of dividing 8,378.55 by 833.50 is the maintained exchange rate in SAP system.
My question is why the amound in doc. curr. is not equal to the amount in second curr.? What exchange rate does the system use to calculate the amount in doc. curr.?
I'm highly appreciated that you can help me to solve my confused question! Thanks in advance.
Best regards
Z.T

An exchange rate can be entered while entering your document.
Another option is you can define an exchange rate in the document type.  Go to OBA7 and know whether any exchange rate type is already defined in the document type.
By default, the system would pick up exchange rate type 'M' from the tables for conversion if no other specific type is mentioned.

    Thx Srini..
I have taken a list of wage types marked for SDF through report-PC00_M99_DLGA20
Then have checked that does GLu2019s are mapped o all wage types through report RPDKON00.
    It seems to be fine.
For evaluation calss -6 is used for monthly printing. Anyway that is not marked for any of the wage types.
I have analyzed the details in QAS system for March month.
    The details are as follows:-
    1.     Wage type report - (S_PH9_46000172) = 1119.66
    2.     CPF report (PC00_ M25_CCPF) -1389.00.
    3.     Posting amount (credit amount 1389.85 sgd - debit amount 270.19 sgd) = 1119.66
It seems to be the debit amount is also getting displayed in the CPF report.
How the debit and credit amt is displaying same as for few employees.
One example is given as follows:-
    WT     WT description
    /305     E'yee,CPF-curr     2,539.00-Debit           SGD
    /305     E'yee,CPF-curr           2,539.00-Credit     SGD

    /37I     Total Medisave     45-Debit           SGD
    /37I     Total Medisave           45Credit     SGD
/307 three entries (2 credit, one debit)
/376 two entries (one credit, one debit)

  • Difference between cleared items, open items and all postings (FI).

    Hi experts,
Can anybody tell me the difference between cleared items, open items and all postings for an account.
While running corresponding bapis and transaction FAGLL03 (for GL) or FBL1N (for accounts payable) i found that in some cases all postings is less than cleared items or open items for a time period. How could it happen.According to my knowledge all postings should contain cleared items and open items.
    Please correct me..
    Thanks and Regards
    Arjun

    Hi Arjun,
For every Billing Documnet created(VBRK/VBRP-VBELN) there will be an accounting document created in BSID/BSAD tables.
OPEN ITEMS means the Billed/Invoice Amounts that are pending from Customers, i.e which we have to receive from Customers.
CLOSED ITEMS means the AMOUNTS received from that customer.
OPEN ITEMS : fetch data from BSID table Only
CLOSED ITEMS : fetch data from BSAD only.
ALL POSTINGS : fetch data from both BSID and BSAD.
    Hope this will help.

  • Differences between operational systems data modeling and data warehouse da

    Hello Everyone,
Can anybody help me understand the differences between operational systems data modeling and data warehouse data modeling>
    Thanks

    Hello A S!
What you mean is the difference between modelling after normal form like in operational systems (OLTP) e. g. 3NF and modelling a InfoCube in a data warehouse (OLAP)?
While in a OLTP you want to have data tables free of redundance and ready for transactions meaning writing and reading few records often, in an OLAP-system you need to read a lot of data for every query you do on a database. Often in an OLAP-system you aggregate these amounts of data.
Therefore you use another principle for these database scheme. This is called star schema. This means that you have one central table (called fact table) which holds the key figures and have keys to another tables with characteristics. These other tables are called dimension tables. They hold combinations of the characteristics. Normally you design it that your dimensions are small, so the access  on the data is more efficent.
the star scheme in SAP BI is a little more complex than explained here but it follows the same concept.

  • Difference between Release DP to SNP and Release profile

    Hi Experts,
What is the difference between Release DP to SNP
And maintain Release profile. Can u suggest am lot of confusion about these?
    Explain in brief.
    prasad

    Hi Prasad,
Aparna point is absolutely correct. From usage point of view, date is the only difference.
There are 2 options to release forecast from DP to SNP.
    1. Demand Planning -> Planning  -> Release -> Release to Supply Network Planning.
    2. By creating Rlease profile, activity , planning job, etc
1 is used for online purpose & for few product/location combinations. However 2 is used for the mass processing.
Use 1 to release a limited amount of data (a few product / location combinations only) from Demand Planning to Supply Network Planning. Do not use it for mass releases, for example large planning books.
If you try to release too much data with this transaction, memory problems are likely, since the system tries to read all the data
simultaneously. For mass processing, use 2 - Releasing the Demand Plan with Mass Processing.
Decision is based on data volume & performance.
    Hope this helps.

ake careEvery culture has rules under which it operates. This one is no exception. It is the unspoken policy of the forum regulars to heap scorn on people who demonstrate an unwillingness to do things for themselves, or to at least put forth an effort. Therefore you have been the target of a certain amount of vitribution. Perhaps you are the lazy worthless git your posting implies perhaps not. None of my business and I don't really care.
You were pointed to a source of the information you asked for and rather than saying thank you, you demand that the rest of us sacrifice our time to synthesize the information and provide you with an answer about which we actually have very little information, namely what in the bloody <expletive deleted> you're interested in? Oh wait you did say you wanted us to tell you how to pick one or the other.
And you still can't see why you would become the target of a certain amount of ire on the part of the forum regulars. Might want to give that one some thought.
But now to your question, well sort of, I can give you a synopsis of what's changed between 1.4. and EE 5, but if I do that what you will know is that one person told you something. If you use the resources that you've already been given and arrive at your own conclusions and questions you will both know what you found and have a frame of reference with which to address specific questions relating to specific change topics. If you do that, most of us here will be more than happy to discuss adnauseum the ramifications of any and all of the changes.
These are the kinds of topics that we will happily get wrapped up in, but after we've spent our effort and time learning the differences and how they relate to what we're doing why should we concern ourselves with someone who wants a spoon fed answer? Consider this, if you never move beyond bottle fed pablum (formula) you wouldn't be able to tolerate more robust food like say a steak. If you never learn to derive your own answers to questions like this, you will never move forward as a developer.
Now that I've ranted for a while. Read the material you've already been pointed to, come back with comments and questions of your own and we'll be happy to help and comment.
    Cheers,

    Hello ,
Could some one please explain me difference between use of decision table and if/then in business rules in short.
    - Shirish

    Hi,
They are equivalent, pretty much what you can do with a decision table you can also do with if/then...
However, decision tables provide automated features that can reduce the number of required rules, as compared to the if/then rules (this is called rule coalescing).
Have a look on this document... Search for 5.1.1 What is a Decision Table?

I believe information about the terms mentioned are well explained in the document link shared by Suntrupth so I won't explain all of them. But one thing that I believe is requiring a little clarity and that's the use of the term LGWR with the SYNCH and ASYNCH. The usual understanding is it's the LGWR that sends the message to the LNS which further would forward the change vectors to the standby site. But actually its always the LNS that reads the change vectors directly from the log buffer. That's the reason that 11g docs no longer mentions the keyword LGWR along with the SYNC and ASYNC.
