Difference between Approver, Role Approver and Org Approvers
Can someone briefly describe the difference/purpose of the Role and Org approver capabilities. Specifically as if I set someone up as Just a role approver then I can't see them in the Available Approvers list for a Role setup anyhow.
As a follow on to this is there any way to not allow an approver responsible for an organization also see and approve approvals for a role's approver for a role that is in the organization. It seems to destroy the point of having role approvals if the org approver can still simply execute his approvals form them.
Z
Ideally Roles were established to provided access controlls. You can route any work items to any "Approver" based on this role. It can done in your workflows.
To answer your question, in simple terms, Role's can be spanned across organizations. So, any request made to have a designated " Role", then owner (or Role approver) can approve this request irrespective of the organization he belongs to. Ex: You can your AD Admin for your AD account who is in IS organization.
Similarly for Org approvers. These approvers basically confirms the user, org CRUD operations.
I hope this helps.

Difference between one step approval and N-step approval?
Hi Experts,
Can anyone tell what is major difference between one step approval and N step approval?
I guess its only one person will approve incase one step approval and where as in the N-step approval a shopping cart can be approved by many users under some prerequistes right??
can some one provide me some hints on this.....
how does it make a difference in workflows and how to mantain the settings for this in the SPRO. for this one to setup a one-step and N-step approvals. what are points to be taken care while setting up this?
Please can some one clarify me on this
Regards
Sairam.
IHi,
1 step approval - Number of approvals will be 1
n step - number of approvals greater then 2(since std approval workflow present till 2 level)
The general customising steps for Workflows apply to both of them (like SWU3 customising.event linkage etc) but other then that for,
1 step approval -
-->Need to activate the starting conditions
-->Agent assignment to be done seperately for the Approval task
(Also the N step workflow can be used as 1 step workflow with number of approvals being set to 1 through the Logic in the badi.)
N step approval -
-->to be implemented through BADI BBP_WFL_APPROV_BADI .This BADi actually determines the Agents/approvers for the workflow.
-->As per my exp, this workflow is very unstable and for few updates, you may have to apply number of notes(e.g. Approval status not updated properly, graphical preview not visible properly etc)

Disha.

Difference between a WEB service and a Enterprise Service?
Can Anybody explain me the difference between a WEB service and a Enterprise Service?
Hi Anilkumar K Naidu ,
Web service
A Web service is a self-contained, modularized functionality, which can be published, discovered, and accessed across a network using open standards and which is supported by SAP NetWeaver. Web services cover services provision for integration within an enterprise as well as cross enterprises on top of any communication technology stack, whether asynchronous or synchronous, in any format.
Web Services in the NetWeaver framework play an important role in facilitating the integration of disparate applications from various departments or trading partners and thus increasing business productivity. This benefit allows small and medium businesses also to integrate their business applications with larger trading partners. The benefit derived from this seamless integration introduces security concerns when all the business logic is now being exposed through a standard interface that is a catalyst for security vulnerabilities. SAP Security Managers must use automated diagnostics tools to ensure that the security vulnerabilities are caught in pre-production and in post-production phase.

Enterprise Service
Enterprise Service-Oriented Architecture (Enterprise SOA)
Enterprise SOA is a blueprint for an adaptable, flexible, and open IT architecture for developing services-based, enterprise-scale business solutions. With SAP NetWeaver as a technical foundation, enterprise SOA moves IT architectures to higher levels of adaptability and moves companies closer to the vision of real-time enterprises by elevating Web services to an enterprise level.
An enterprise service is typically a series of Web services combined with business logic that can be accessed and used repeatedly to support a particular business process. Aggregating Web services into business-level enterprise services provides a more meaningful foundation for the task of automating enterprise-scale business scenarios.

What is the difference between Commitment, assigned, actual and available in the shopping cart process? Also what are the different commitment stages?
Hi Tejas,
Is these terms related to WBS Budget ?
If yes, then they are just general terms FI use in WBS.
Actual : Actual budget assigned to WBS
Assigned : Budget consumed after SC is approved and PO is created
Committed : Budgete assigned to a SC or PR (PO not created)
Available : Available budget (Actual - Assigned - Committed)

Since it looks like you're trying to set up the sample schemas, is there a reason that you wouldn't just run the sample schema setup scripts on the destination database? Why are you using Data Pump in the first place?

What is the difference between Condition Type PB00 and PBXX
Hallow all,
Can anybody please explain, What is the Difference between Condition type PB00 and PBXX in Materials Management Pricing?
And also please explain control or Application of both on Price determination ??
Thanks in Advance !!!!!Hi,
PB00 condition type is used for automatic pricing in PO
PBXX condition type is used for manual pricing in PO
In Pricing access sequence play a vital role . If you need pricing automatic in the PO, you have use of Access Sequences and Schema Group of Vendor. You can see the difference in both standard condition type PB00 and PBXX, where as PB00 is assigned to Access sequence(0002)but in case of PBXX no access sequense assigned.

Difference between P.O.date and P.O.created date
Hi,
Could you tell me difference between purchaseing doucment date and purchase order creaed date.
Because some time in my org. po created after GR means in past date. So there is difference between
po date and po created date. where this po created date is maintained in purchase order
Thanks and Regards
AnilDear Anil,
Please check table EKKO with ta SE11.
Created Date => EKKO-AEDAT
Date on which the record was created
Document date => EKKO-BEDAT
Date on which the purchasing document was created
EKKO-AEDAT = Date on which the record was created
and also "Created By" also recorded automatically
by system.
Document date or EKKO-BEDAT normally default as
today when you create the PO via ME21N. This field
appear at top right of the screen. However this date
can be change to any date that required.
Thanks

Do we have a way to get the differences between xtext model before and after partial parse?
Do we have a way to get the differences between xtext model before and after partial parse?
As an example i have file contains 4 lines, xtext parsed this file and generated its model, then i made small modification in line number 3, so xtext partially parsed the file and generated another model.
The question is could we get the nodes that has been deleted from the model?
could we get the new nodes added to the model?
could we get the differences between the two models?Workflow {

Difference between "change auth data " and "expert mode" in pfcg
Gurus ,
i need to know , what is the difference between
"change authorization data "
and
"expert mode for profile generation" in PFCG .
and what is the significance of the three options that we get when we choose expert mode ?Hi Susin,
To change the authorization data for the transactions assigned to the role, choose Change Authorization Data or Expert Mode for Profile Generation.
If you are generating the profile for the first time, there is no difference between the two modes.
When you change a role, you must regenerate the authorization profile. In this case, the status of the profile generation is displayed red or yellow at the top of the Authorizations tab page.
If the status display is red, you must perform an authorization data comparison, since the menu was changed since the last profile generation or no authorization data exists.
If the display is yellow, the authorization data for the role was changed and saved after the last generation. The generated profile is no longer current. You need to regenerate it.
The significance of the three options that we get when we choose expert mode is as follows:
Choose one of the options to maintain the authorization values (in normal mode, the correct option is automatically set):
1> Delete and recreate profile and authorizations
All authorizations are recreated. Values which had previously been maintained, changed or entered manually are lost. Only the maintained values for organizational levels remain.
2> Edit old status
The last saved authorization data for the role is displayed. This is not useful, if transactions in the role menu have been changed.
3> Read old status and compare with new data
If you change transactions in the role menu, this option is the preconfigured. The profile generator compares the existing authorization data with the authorization default values for the menu transactions. If new authorizations are added during this process, they receive the status New. Authorizations that already existed receive the status Old.
Note the following during the comparison:
Values for organizational levels that are no longer required are deleted, all others are retained. If new organizational levels are added, you need to maintain them.
The standard authorization for the object S_TCODE is always automatically filled with the current transactions from the role menu. It cannot be copied or manually changed, only deactivated.
Thanks,
Saby.. -
Difference between SAP BC ABAP and SAP ABAP Training

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/6f/1bd5c2a85b11d6b28500508b5d5211/content.htm
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SAP_Business_Connector
So you can know SAP BC ABAP is ABAP for SAP BC
SAP ABAP/4 is a program lanuague

For ABAP certification
TAW10 and 12 are the right materials.

Difference between SAP Access Control and IDM
Hi Expert,
I have one question What is the difference between SAP Access Control and SAP Identity Management ?Ali,
That's a good question, but a tough one.
While both applications can do most of what the other can do, it's a matter of specialization in my opinion.
Access Control is all about managing and controlling access to SAP system roles and has the ability to report on role conflicts for compliance and reporting purposes. (I'm sure I'm leaving a lot out, but maybe a GRC / AC expert can fill in more details)
SAP IDM is about managing the user life cycle with regards to landscape and enterprise systems. It will handle the creation, update and ultimately the removal (or de-provisioning) of users in SAP ABAP, SAP JAVA, LDAP, JDBC, and API based applications. It will also do Role Management through a web based UI (User management is web based as well). and as of the latest Service pack for SAP IDM 7.2, it will do attestation (limited certification) as well. It is a definite upgrade to CUA as it will work with a greater variety of systems, include workflows and approvals.
GRC will do some provisioning, but it's somewhat limited, as is IDM's compliance abilities.
The applications are designed to work together, however it does not have a great track record and the integration is typically heavily modified to work as desired.
If you have specific questions, feel free to post / DM. Obviously I am more knowledgeable about IDM, but I'll be happy to help you in any way possible.
