Difference between auxiliary track volume and send/bus

I'm trying to take it easy on my laptop so I started using AUX tracks for compressors, eqs, etc. that I have on multiple tracks. However, I have a few questions.
When I add an aux track, it is added at -∞. I guess I don't completely understand its function. What is the difference between me pulling this up to 0 or changing the volumes in my original track?
With that in mind, I'm assuming (maybe wrongly) that if I want the full effect/volume to be sent that I set the send to 0 also (the little green circle that I pull up next to the send button).
Am I wrong in any of my logic? I'm just trying to figure out how this all affects volume and what not and what values to set these things at. I had my mix set at individual volumes that I liked. However, when I switched my tracks from all having an individual plug-in to sending them all to a bus, the volumes changed, even when I set the send and the aux track volume to 0.
I know I'm wrong somewhere here! I just don't know where! Can you guys help and point me to a fix and better understanding? Thank you.

Are these the two methods you were talking about?
Yes these are the methods with one note ony !
In the 1st picture the chennel strip sends are routed to Bus 1 - so far so good. But what I see is that you have inserted an EQ on the system Aux which is not so good. In this scenario the chanel strip audio path is dubplicated (one is passing thru the channel strip out 1-2 and the other is splited thru the channel strip Send Knob->Bus->Aux-> Out 1-2 so you EQ the Send path only - OK?
In this scenario you can insert  Reverb, Delay, Chorus etc and use them as calssical system FX so the duplicated "send" path just adds some system FX (note the Aux FX plugin must be set to 100% Wet) so you add wet signal to the dry path. You can correct your 1st setup and insert Reveb for instance. After that you can control the reverb abount for each channel strip using the channel strip send knob(s) (currently they all are set to 0dB).
When you want to use say an EQ or Compressor etc then your second setup is OK ! In the second picture you have grouped the chanel strip outputs to one bus/aux so all inserted plugins there will behave as Group "Insert" ones (no duplicated paths here). The second setup is used with say violin, vocal winds group summed to an Aux where you want to EQ, Compress, Pan … the whole group etc.

  • Difference between master cost centre and sender cost centre

    Hi All,
could you please tell the difference between master and sender cost centre.
I want this information very urgent.
    Thanks rakesh

    Hi!
The master CT is a default Ct in your system.
In this case the logical pair for master is the "child" cost center -> primary and secondary cost centers..
The sender CT is a different thing logically -> this will be credited while posting. The sender is the one who claims money.
To this type the logical pair is the receiver cost center. While posting the receivers cost center will be debited.
    Hope this helps!
    Best regards,

What is the Difference between XI 3.0 and XI 7.0?
    ( functionality & architecture wise)

    Hi,
There is no new features added in PI7.0, if u have working on XI 3.0, PI7.0 Older versions the features same..
But PI7.1 there is new changes u can find below.....
Integarte SAP & Non-SAP Legacy system
PI 7.1 is based on open, web service enabled standards and
Integrate all SAP and non-SAP, A2A, B2B, BPM, service enabling and BAM
    Highlight of enhancement in PI7.1
    1) Enterprise Service repository (ESR) contains the design Registry
    2) Includes significant high-volume message processing is supported by message processed in a single
    Service call
    3) Also importantly support for asynchronous messaging based Reliable Messaging (WS-RM) for both
Brokered communication between two systems will be supported in this release.
    4) Provide Service Registry benefits based on UDDI 3.0
    Enterprise Service Repository
In PI7.1 ES Repository is at the heart of Enterprise SOA
ES Repository is really the master data repository of service objects for Enterprise SOA
It contains the definition & process of services
In ES Repository has two parts, one is the ES Repository and the other being the Services Registry
ES Repository (ESR) is really the master data repository of service objects for Enterprise SOA
Besides service definition the ES Repository also provides you with a central point for finding and
Managing service metadata from different sources, including application deployments - this is
Where the Services Registry comes in. The Services Registry is the UDDI part of the ESR which
Enables service consumers to find services
The SAP XI Integration Repository used by process integration has become the basis of the central Enterprise Service Repository: powering Enterprise SOA and Service Enablement.
Objects in the ES Repository include:
    Global Data Types (CCTS based)

  • Difference between cost component structure and cost component split

can anyone explain me the difference between cost component structure and cost component split with simple example
    thanks
    santosh

    Hi ,
    cost component structure
    Definition
    Number that identifies the structure.
    Use
In Product Cost Controlling, the cost component structure determines how the results of material costing are updated. The cost component structure groups the costs for each material according to cost component (such as material costs, internal activities, external activities, and overhead). If the material is used in the production of another material, the cost component split (which breaks down the costs according to material costs, internal activities, external activities, overhead, and so forth) remains in the system when the costs are rolled up.
In the cost component split, you also define the following for material costing:
Which part of the costs are fixed costs
    Which costs are
cost of goods manufactured and what are sales and administration costs
Which costs are relevant for stock valuation, commercial inventory valuation and tax inventory valuation
When the cost component structure is assigned to the organizational units, you can specify that two cost component splits are created:
    Main cost component split
This is the principal cost component split, meaning that it is used in the standard cost estimate, which can be used to update the material master. The main cost component split can be a cost component split for cost of goods manufactured or a primary cost component split.
    Auxiliary cost component split
This can exist in addition to the main cost component split, and is not used in the standard cost estimate. It can be used for analysis purposes, in that it can be displayed with the cost estimate and passed on to Profitability Analysis.
In Cost Center Accounting, the cost component structure determines how the results of the activity price calculation are updated. The cost component structure groups the costs for each activity type of the cost center according to components (such as material costs and labor costs). If an internal activity allocation is carried out, the cost component split (which breaks down the costs according to material, labor costs, and so forth) is retained at cost rollup.
If the cost component split is not to be retained, you can create a switching structure for the cost component structure for Cost Center Accounting. In the switching structure, you specify which sender cost component goes into which receiver cost component.
<b>require a cost component structure to calculate prices using cost component split.</b>
For each cost component structure you define a component such as energy, personnel, or raw materials. The components combine all costs occuring for a particular cost element area. In this way, you ensure greater cost transparency in activity price calculation when putting together the activity type prices - for example, it becomes easier to find how much of the activity price is taken up by the material costs.
In activity allocation, the cost component structure remains constant, meaning that the receiver takes on the sender cost elements and that the allocated costs are posted in the same cost components in the receiver as in the sender.
A cost component structure can have a maximum of 40 defined cost components.
Cost components are assigned to cost elements. You thereby determine which cost elements go to which rows in the structure, and how these components are updated in price calculation.
    Hope ths helps
    Please rewad points

  • What's the difference between an audio INPUT and AUX object?

Can someone explain the difference between an audio INPUT and AUX object? They both seems to do pretty much the same thing ... when would you use 1 over the other?

    revDave:
Suppose you're recording a guitar track and you want to add a very gentle compressor to avoid overload during the rec process. you need an audio input channel with a compressor inserted. this way, your guitar will be recorded with the compressor processed. If you use audio and midi gear and want to bounce your material, put all your midi audio in an audio input channel. This way, you don't have to use a real audio channel to record them. You can hear them, even use some plugins, and have them bounced with your audio channels.
Now, suppose you recorded three vocal channels, and want to use an equalizer. You need an aux object to send your vocal channels and use only one eq. This is very useful when you have similar materials recorded in diferent channels (2 guitars, vocals, pete/sax/bone, and so on). Send their outs to an aux object, insert the fx you want, and set the aux object's out to the main out of your project, and it's done.
    I hope it helps you.

  • The difference between Telepresence Content Server and MSE 3500

Good day! Could someone explain me what's the difference between Telepresence Content Server and MSE 3500? Why do I need to obtain two these devices for sorting out my tasks? I want to understand gist of the first and the second devices.

In addition to what Jonathan posted above, here is a Capture Transform Share Solution Guide that goes over a little bit of what the TCS and MXE are and some possible deployment scenarios.
In short, TCS is used to record video conferences or lectures that can be streamed on demand or live using various streaming or distribution methods.  One such distribution method is using the MXE 3500 to ingest the recordings from TCS and convert them to different media types and add in-video content such as logos etc.  However, from the MXE, you can't send the video back to the TCS for viewing, you'd need to send that off to another viewing portal such as Show and Share.

  • In ical, how can you tell the difference between a meeting invite and email?

When you send a meeting invite in ical, does the recipient receive a different icon in their inbox to differentiate from an email?

For service stock you can't tell the difference between a new iPad and a refurbished one. Both will come in a plain brown box with the same pattern in model numbers. If you mean between a refurbished one and one new at retail, then other than the obvious difference in packaging, I've read that the model number on refurbished units starts with the letter "F", though I've not confirmed that.
    Regards.

  • Want to understand the Difference between Attempt sign in and sign in in Unity Connection

I would like to understand the difference between Attempt sign in and sign in in Unity Connection.
If I do a direct routing rule to attempt sign in and another routing rule directly to sign in, what would be the difference for the caller (inside caller with or without voicemail and also outside caller with or without voicemail)?  Thank you!  Lise

Attempt Sign-In—Sends the call to the user sign in conversation, if the calling number belongs to a user. The calling number is used as the ID. If the call is not from a user, the next rule in the routing table is applied to the call information.
Sign-In—Sends the call to the user sign in conversation, which prompts the caller to enter an ID.

  • I did re-set my password and when I click on Install for Mavericks, I still get a box for "administrator password" and it still won't accept my new password. Is there a difference between my Apple ID and the administrator password they're asking for?

I downloaded Mavericks and it won't install. I did re-set my password and when I click on Install for Mavericks, I still get a box for "administrator password" and it still won't accept my new password. Is there a difference between my Apple ID and the administrator password they're asking for? I never had an administrator password-- I just hit enter and have never had a problem before with previous installations. I'm on an iMac, from 2007, running Mt. Lion (version 10.8.5). I've been looking for other's posts who may be having the same problem, but haven't found any. Can anyone help?

Ugh. The 'no password, no work' thing is a recent Apple development. I ran into it on my system and ended up having to do a clean install on a partition I fully erased.
I suppose, if you have the ability to, go online and look up how to burn a bootable DVD image. Download the 10.8.4 image then use the Disk Utility to make a boot image of it. You'll need a dual-layer DVD or a USB drive (or memory stick at least 8GB) If you've got an optical drive, burn the disk, if you've a USB device, use that.
Then get a pocket drive and copy your important files off the system or let Time Machine do a full backup.
When the backup is done, insert the disk and hold down the C key until the machine boots off of the DVD. At the point you get to the start window, go to the menu and choose the Disk Utility.
In the Disk Utility, reformat the drive. You go to the actual DRIVE (not the Macintosh HD, but the root above it that is the actual hard drive device)
I always do this and *partition* it into several volumes, the benefit being, you can store all of your music, documents and importans stuff on that secondary storage volume you make - it will have it's own index and then the first volume is where you put the OS and it will have it's own index as well. That way, if the OS throws a wobbler and you need to reinstall, you don't lose your data.
Depending on the size of your hard drive, it is good to give your OS partition at least 60GB and optimally 100GB, and the rest for storage.
Name your volumes, use the little box sliders to manually size them or put that number in the size window, select for the format, Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and hit Apply and then the Disk Utility will quickly create your new partitions.
Once finished, quit the Utility and it will return you to the OS installer. Select the volume you want to install to and it should start up and install.
Once the installation is done, you'll get the new machine startup then you MUST put in a password for the computer. Once you're in, and to the desktop, don't bother with any Mountain Lion updates, go right to the App Store and get the Mavericks update and let it install the app to your Applicaitons folder, then do that install.
On a side note, there MAY be a way to make a disk image from the Mavericks application and avoid the entire Mountain Lion step.. I honestly do not know, but a bit of hitting the search engines may find out if there is. I think that if you looked for "make Mavericks boot disk or boot image' you may find something.
    Good luck!

  • Excel sheet for difference between EP 6.0 and EP 7.0

    Hi All,
Wish all of you a very very Happy New Year 2008.
Can some body send the excel sheet for difference between EP 6.0 and EP 7.0 to [email protected] asap.
    Thanks in advance
    Jyoti

    Aaaaggghhhh.
Please could someone either get it uploaded as an article... or even easier, add it to the Portal Wiki.  It has an attachments tab!
Then we won't have huge threads with e-mail addresses on (which bots will then pick up and send lots of spam to).
    Many Thanks
    Paul

  • Difference between  a WEB service and a Enterprise Service?

Can Anybody explain me the difference between  a WEB service and a Enterprise Service?

    Hi Anilkumar K Naidu ,
    Web service
A Web service is a self-contained, modularized functionality, which can be published, discovered, and accessed across a network using open standards and which is supported by SAP NetWeaver. Web services cover services provision for integration within an enterprise as well as cross enterprises on top of any communication technology stack, whether asynchronous or synchronous, in any format.
Web Services in the NetWeaver framework play an important role in facilitating the integration of disparate applications from various departments or trading partners and thus increasing business productivity. This benefit allows small and medium businesses also to integrate their business applications with larger trading partners. The benefit derived from this seamless integration introduces security concerns when all the business logic is now being exposed through a standard interface that is a catalyst for security vulnerabilities. SAP Security Managers must use automated diagnostics tools to ensure that the security vulnerabilities are caught in pre-production and in post-production phase.

    Enterprise Service
    Enterprise Service-Oriented Architecture (Enterprise SOA)
Enterprise SOA is a blueprint for an adaptable, flexible, and open IT architecture for developing services-based, enterprise-scale business solutions. With SAP NetWeaver as a technical foundation, enterprise SOA moves IT architectures to higher levels of adaptability – and moves companies closer to the vision of real-time enterprises by elevating Web services to an enterprise level.
An enterprise service is typically a series of Web services combined with business logic that can be accessed and used repeatedly to support a particular business process. Aggregating Web services into business-level enterprise services provides a more meaningful foundation for the task of automating enterprise-scale business scenarios.

  • Difference between Web Service Developer and Web Compononent Developer?

What's the difference between Web services Developer and Web Component Developer? What's their job description. I'm aiming to be a web application developer. Which track should I follow?

Here is another article on J2SE vs JEE:
    http://www.velocityrevies.com/forums/t151124-what-is-j2se-vs-j2ee.html
I believe the people who said JSE is only for desktop development are not correct, as well as their saying their are 2 kinds of developer (web service and component).
As I understand it, web service developers provide a way to expose the data and functionality of a program written in a particular language (such as Java or C#) as XML documents to anyone subscribing to the service over the internet. The remote applications subscribing to the service therefore can be written in any other language. For example, imagine a Cobol program trying to get data from a program written in Java. Since both cobol and Java should have ways to parse XML documents, they don't have to know each other's syntax. There are many programs written in many many languages in the web and XML is a standard way for them to communicate. Web Services are an advanced topic and you shouldn't worry about it until you master web applications and/or desktop applications.
As I understand it, a web component developer creates java widgets that produce some visual image with basic functionality associated with it. For example, an html button. These widgets are used by other developers for the presentation layer when creating a web application or desktop application. I'm not sure about this definition since I never messed with web component development. I suggest you keep way from this specialized area on concentrate on web applications and/or desktop applications.
You can consider application development as devided into two general categories. Web development and Desktop development (there are others). Web development is further broken down into browser based applications and mobile device applications. I suspect their are more jobs in web development than desktop development. I therefore suggest you concentrate on browder based web development (just my opinion). However, each has their advantages and disadvantages over each other, depending on the task at hand(http://stackoverflow.com/questions/905365/desktop-development-versus-web-development)
