Difference between BLOCK DATA and WEB ACCESS BLOCK?

Currently my account shows I have both BLOCK DATA and WEB ACCESS BLOCK in place. I did this a couple of years to prevent data charges. Works perfectly. Now I'm trying to upgrade one of my lines to a Kin Onem because of the WiFi option and when I add the phone to my shopping cart and go to the Select Features & Services Page I see a message at the bottom that says: Features We Needed To Remove (Because they're incompatible with your phones or plan) - Block Web Access.
It looks like I don't have a choice when ordering the phone, but what exactly will removing the Web Access block do? Maybe I have to turn it off anyway to use the WiFi anyway right? I just don't want to incur any data charges.
Someone please help. Thank you!

"Data block" actually blocks your phone's ability to connect to the 3g data network. What this means is your phone can't create an internet connection on a cellular network. Web Access block specifically blocks the browser/mobile web on your phone from making a connection. Unblocking mobile web will not cause your phone to be able to connect to the cellular data network (resulting in 1.99/mb charges), but will allow the browser on the kin to connect while you're using wifi.

  • Difference between standard dtp and direct access dtp

    Hi,
Can anybody tell me the difference between standard DTP and Direct access DTP other than Help.sap.com.
    Regards,
    Devi

simple words.. Standard DTP needs to use for Physical data targets loading.
Direct Access DTP needs to use for virtual providers. you won't pull data into BI. it will directly retrive from DS while reporting .

Any difference between Master data and User master data ?

    hi
A user master record defines the authorizations assigned to a user. Based on these authorizations one can access the master data.
Master data - it is the data which is used long term in SAP r/3 system such as vendor master , material master, customer master,
there is no such thing like user master data to the best of my knowledge
    hope this helps

  • Difference between master data and transactional data

Hi experts i have just started learning BW can u plz let me know the difference between Master data and Transactional data in bw ? and why is master data is first loaded before the transactional data ? thanks .....

    Hi
Transaction data represents any transaction occured between two parties like Customer and Vendor.
We maintain id's to maintain the Customer and Vendor.
When we look at the id we don't have a clue like who is the customer, where does he live,,....
So all this info is maintained in Master data in three categories:
    1. Attributes
    2. Text
    3. Hierarchies.
Collection of Attribute, Texts and Hierarchies is called master Data in BI/BW.
    Eg: 0MATERIAL, 0CUSTOMER,,,,,
Master data: is data that remains unchanged over a long period of time. Master data contains information that is always needed in the same way. Characteristics can bear master data in BW. With master data you are dealing with attributes, texts or hierarchies.

Master Data is one form of the historical data. There is no frequent changes in the data.Every application has it's own Master Data.
In BI the master Data has been divided into
    Characterstics
    Texts
    Hierarchies
We can load Master Data through different ways.
    Pls. find the below link

  • What is the Difference Between Sys Date and Effective Date ??

    Hi Gurus,
Can any one pls let me know What is the Difference Between Sys Date and Effective Date ??
    with regards
    User600722

EFFECTIVE DATE usually refers to a date-tracked record (although not exclusively).
Date-tracked records in Oracle HR have an EFFECTIVE START DATE and an EFFECTIVE END DATE. The record is 'EFFECTIVE' between these dates. In reports, you often use SYSDATE to compare to these two dates to find the CURRENT effective record, e.g. SYSDATE BETWEEN EFFECTIVE START DATE AND EFFECTIVE END DATE.
When you make changes to a HR record, you can choose between DATE TRACKING options, such as CORRECT or UPDATE (there are others too). CORRECT will overwrite the record and replace the data with your changes. This is normally used when you need to correct something that is wrong. UPDATE will create a new version of the record from the EFFECTIVE START DATE you choose. It will also set the EFFECTIVE END DATE of the previous record to the day before your new record's EFFECTIVE START DATE. That enables a history of records to be maintained so you can see what your data looked like at ay one point in time.

  • RE:difference between application server and web application server

    hi,
i am a fresher to SAP.please tell me the difference between application server and web application server so that my doubt will be clarified.

    Hi,
the SAP Web Application Server is the reliable, open standard-based application server from SAP. It supports both J2EE and ABAP, and serves as the underlying infrastructure for all new and upcoming SAP solutions, like SAP R/3 Enterprise, SAP Portal, SAP Exchange Infrastructure, and all other SAP components.
The SAP Web Application Server is not a new product, it is the natural evolution of proven SAP application server technology formerly known as SAP Basis. It provides the platform to develop, execute, and operate Web applications and Web services as well as traditional SAP GUI based applications

  • Finding difference between Max date and Min date from single date field

    Dear Experts,
Here I am with a scenario where i didnt find any solution in SDN and in most threads it is unanswered.
I have 1 KF which is a date field. With reference to Serial no, I want to find out the Max and Min date from the same KF. I created 2 CKF where the same KF is used in both CKF to find the Min and Max dates,
    Ex:
Serial No | Material | Actual Del date | Max | Min | Difference
    0123 | 300012 | 01.01.2009 | 31.01.2009 | 01.01.2009 | 30
    0123 | 300013 | 07.01.2009 | 31.01.2009 | 01.01.2009 | 30
    0123 | 300018 | 15.01.2009 | 31.01.2009 | 01.01.2009 | 30
    0123 | 300014 | 30.01.2009 | 31.01.2009 | 01.01.2009 | 30
    0124 | 300019 | 02.01.2009 | 10.01.2009 | 02.01.2009 | 8
    0124 | 300012 | 06.01.2009 | 10.01.2009 | 02.01.2009 | 8
    0124 | 300017 | 10.01.2009 | 10.01.2009 | 02.01.2009 | 8
This is the way how I want the output where now I am able to get the values right till Max and Min and not the difference. I even created the 3rd CKF the find the difference but it is not working.
How can I find the difference between the Max and Min dates?
    Regards,
    Chan

    Hi
You have FM --DAYS_BETWEEN_TWO_DATES you can use this while Customer Exit.
Try to Have 2 RKF for Min Data and Max Date and create a formula/CKF on the same ..
    Hope it helps

  • Pros and Cons between BEx client and Web access

    Dear all,
I am quite new to BI 7.0 and have some question about frontend tools.
I am looking for a comparison material describing pros and cons of BEx client application and Web access in BI 7.0.
There are many tools in BEx suite and I am a bit confused about what fuctionality each tool has or what to consider to choose the right tool.
Thanks a lot in advance and appreciate any input.
    Regards,
    Kazuya

    Hello,
Shortly speaking there are 4 tools and you need at least 2 of them:
    1. Query Designer: you need it always as this is a tool for defining queries
    2. Web Application Designer: you need it if you want create web reports
    3. Report Designer: only if you want create formatted reports in web
    4. BEx Analyzer: if you want to run queries in Excel (Analyzer is an add-in)

  • The Difference between "Cell Data" and "Dimension Data"?

What is the difference between the tab "Cell Data" and "Dimension Data" in SSAS?

Article quote: " SSAS provides the way to secure analysis services database/cube data from unauthorized access. Analysis services provides secure access by creating object called "roles". After creation of role, user's windows login credential can be used
to enroll into particular role because analysis services identifies user from their windows login credentials . You can protect your data in roles at two levels:
    1) Dimension level
    2) Cell level
If user has been assigned more than one role, analysis services loop through all assigned roles after login. Analysis services finds all permission level for the particular user and  union all the permission levels.
If two roles has contradictory access for user then particular access will be allowed. Suppose role1 says Australia data access and role2 denies Australia data access then access to Australia data will be allowed. "

  • Difference between text data and attributes in master data?

    Hello,
a charcteristic in BW maintains texts, hierarchies and attributes.
What exactly is the difference between texts and attributes?
Attributes describe master data like a customer. The country where the customer resides, the industry etc. describe and classify the customer. Attributes are not just the structure/metadata of the characteristics. They are also the content. The following table should visualize what i mean:
    customer-no. | name
    112          | mcpherson inc.
    113          | donalds inc.
Texts contain contain the description of a characteristic. Texts define a characteristic. An example is the customers name. It does not describe the customer but defines him/her.
Is my understanding about these two parts of master data right?
What else except the customer's name belongs to the texts?
If I set up a characteristic like the customer in SAP BW, do I have to create an attribute "name". The name belongs to texts, not to attributes?? If I upload master data then, how does it work?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
If your analysis includes country and region then country  and region should be included in the Infocube. This is required because only if you include these characteristics then you can restrict your queries for country and region. You may need to select some particular countires/region and show the report. Then you have to restrict your queries to only those countries/region.This is possible only if you have these  characteristic in your infocube.
I am just envisaging your model like this.
    Characteristic in the Infocube
    Customer
    Country
    Region
    Customer Attributes
Customer Number (SID which is self generated)
    Customer Address1,2 ,3
    Registration No
    Date of Registration
    Deposit Amount
    etc ...
    Region Attributes
    Region Number (SID)
    Total Customers
    Sale Office Address
    Number of Sales Persons
    Customer Attributes
    Customer Number (SID)
    Total Customers
    Head Office Address
    Number of Sales Persons
    GDP
    Total Population
So the conclusion is whichever entity you want to restrict or analyse should be a part of Infocube. It is very difficult to do analysis based on attributes as I mentioned in my earlier post that they are only "Display attributes" (u can just show that's it).
Yes!! there are  methods available for analysis based on characteristics in attributes table and you have to do either with virtual characteristic or replacement path or with writing code in customer exits. But a good design and earlier study of all possible report combination and having a good design will avoid good amount of development time and changes.
I have suffered  when I had only 0CALDAY in my cube and when I want to take a monthly analysis, I was unable to do it and then I have to redesign my whole cube.
Please anyone, correct me if I am wrong.
    Regs
    Gopi.

  • Difference between Posting Date and Posting Day

In Accounting Document Header table BKPF, there are 2 fields: BUDAT (Posting Date) and PSOBT (Posting Day), both of DATS type. What is the difference between the two?
Why is that substitutions and Business Transaction Events allow changing of Posting Day (PSOBT) and not BUDAT (Posting Date)?
In that case, how can I change the Posting Date of a document based on certain rules?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
13 period is a special accounting period, so the situation you described is perfectly normal. The reversal document will be posted in the same period.
You can read more about special periods here:
