Difference Between Capture invoice and Only part1 in Migo
Hi All,
I am doing GRN posting in MIGO, its a excise material, in which i am selecting ONLY PART1 option in excise invoice tab.
After posting the document if i go and look into this GRN no in display mode it is not at showing this Excise Invoice tab.
Can any one tell how the scenario will work if i select --
1. ONLY PART1,
2. Capture Excise Invoice.
3. and other option like Capture excise invoice and post excise invoice.
4. No excise entry.
Also let me know is there any link between this and Accounting ie., J1IEX & MIRO....,
Please help me out in this.

Nagaraj S

Dear Nagaraj,
RG23A register have 2 components, one is quantity part (part I)& other one is value part(part II). While doing GR you have the option of updating the Part 1 only, capturing excise invoice & posting excise inv.
Normally "only Part1" option will be used when the goods recd from vendor with no excise invoice enclosed (expected later)& you want to make Qty receipt. In this case you will update qty part in RG23A register & later capture & post excise invoice in J1ieX.
Second option is Capturing excise invoice in GR. In this case you will capture excise invoice at the time GR (here Part1 will get updated) & later post the excise invoice in J1iex t-code. This procedure will be used by most of the companies since qty part will be done by stores person & excise value part by excise officer separtely. This procedure will have a good control over the value part as it be double confirmed by the excise officer befor posting.
Third option where you can post the excise invoice directly at the GR level iteself & this process no need of J1iEX t-code.
However the selection of second & third option is controled by the CIN config setting.
For non excisable material select no excise entry.
Hope you understand.

Difference between shipping invoice and fiscal invoice?
Helo.
Can anyone tell me the difference between Shipping Invoice and Fiscal Invoice?
Regards
Points are assuredHi Kulkarni,
Invoice Processing
Process
You can use this business process to display and process invoices both in SAP Enterprise Buyer (SAP EBP) and SAP Supplier Self-Services (SAP SUS).
As supplier or service provider, all invoices that you enter or process in SAP Enterprise Buyer must be approved by a responsible internal employee. For goods and services with a low purchase value, invoices and credit memos can also be created without a purchase order reference. Moreover, it is also possible to create express invoices in the check status application.
In SAP Supplier Self-Services (SAP SUS) invoices can be entered with reference to a purchase order, shipping notification, or contact person before they are sent to the customer.
If, following a purchase order, the goods supplied or the service provided turn out to be defective or the price charged is too high, you as an internal employee, supplier, or service provider, can enter and process credit memos or subsequent debits/credits in SAP Enterprise Buyer
i think the invoice generated during a particular fiscal year is fiscal invoice.
thanks

Difference between Parked invoice and posted park invoice.
Dear All,
I am trying to create a new program to extract the invoices posted by MIRO and MIR7. I have no problem to find invoices posted by MIRO in RBKP and RSEG.
However, as currenty one user will use MIR7 to park invoices and another user will use MIRO to post the invoices, I don't know how to sparate the parked invoice and posted park invoice. C's I have found that the parked not posted invoice and posted park invoice were all displayed in RBKP with transaction code MIR7.
Thank you very much
EmmaHi,
*Park*
If the Invoice document is missing some information that is required for posting. In this case we will park the document. Here some preliminary checks will be performed. Balance might not be zero. But in this case updates were performed.
*Post*
The invoice was posted online and verified as being correct(Balance must be Zero). Updates were made.
Please use RBKP-RBSTAT field to find out the different type os status.
I hope this helps.

Difference between capture rendering and video file rendering
Hello,
I am using JMF to process a video coming from a camera or from a video file, but I noticed some differences in the screen output between these two cases.
I created a Processor and attached an Effect plug-in to its codec chain. On every frame, some processing is done in the process() method of the Effect. Every automatic update of the processor's visual component fires automatic update of my transparent custom drawing pane positioned on top of it (because they overlap). This way I can easily draw some lines over the video layer.
This works fine on capture. When the video comes from a file, however, the JMF visual component always shows the previous frame (not the one just processed), so my drawings are out of sync (they are a step ahead from the frame displayed).
Why is that? The processing code is the same for the capture and the files, only the dataSource is created differently.
Thanks in advance!b.o.j.o. wrote:

Difference between capture schema and import/register schema
As far as versioning control, what are the differences, if any, between 1.) capturing a schema's objects thru design editor and 2.) importing and registering a schema?
Capturing a schema will create instances of the TABLE type in the Designer model.
Registration creates a new model with new types in the Repository.

Diff between Commercial Invoice and Excise Invoice
Hi all,
What are the differences between commercial invoice and excise invoice?
Which one is more related to SD?
Regards,
AjitHi,
Commercial Invoice contains information more specific to customer (Pricing, Tax, Payment terms), which becomes a part of recievables.
For Commercial Invoice, there is no need for advance declaration of the Number Ranges for the Document.
Excise Invoice contains information related to excise duties which has to be payed to the Excise authorities and also other statutory requirements .
For Excise Invoices, every manufacturing company has to declare the Number ranges (Per Excise Group/Series Group) to the excise authorities beginining of the year.
Nowadays most of the buinesses are directing toward common (Commercial *** Excise Invoice) printout , though in SAP its still a separate transaction for posting.
I hope this clears your doubt.
Reward points if thie helps.

Difference between Profoma Invoice F5 and F8
Dear Gurus,
Can any one explain me the difference between Profoma Invoice F5 and F8 apart from order relevant and delivery relevant profoma Invoice. Thanks in advance.
Regds
JeevaganHi
As far as i know
F5 is an Order related Proforma Invoice and F8 is delivery related. Apart from this the copy controls will be maintained from Order to billing for F5.
Similarly the copy controls will be maintained from Delivery to billing for F8 Proforma.
Also for F5 you can create the billing doc after creating the sales order itself.
for F8 Proforma invoice you have to create a sales order and delivery then only you can create a F8 Proforma.

Difference between Credit memo and subsequent credit
All SAP Gurus,
In MIRO, what is the difference between Credit memo and subsequent credit?
Regards,Difference between Credit memo and subsequent debits/credits
Subsequent Debits/Credits are used in cases where the quantity is in the original invoice is to remain the same. For eg.
PO 10 - $10
Gr 10 - $10
LIV 10 - $11 (Logistics Invoice Verification)
The vendor invoice is more than that in the Purchase Order. In order to correct, the Vendor may send in another invoice for
the Increased amount or a credit memo for the increased amount.
If you approve of the price increase, post the subsequent invoice received as a Subsequent Debit/Credit Invoice.
If it is a credit memo that has been received, then post the credit memo as Subsequent Debit/Credit.
This would retain the quantity but reduce the amount.
Subsequent Debit/Credit is for the case when the credit is not for the full amount eg. if the Vendor decided to credit
only the $1 overcharged.
Credit memo is for the credit of the full amount and value. -
Difference between Return Po and Retuning with 122 movement type
Dear Experts,
i need some clarification on Return Po and retuning goods with 122 movement type in the context of Excise invoice.
in our previous company we used 122 movement we capture excise invoice with J1IS and referring the incoming excise
and return the material to vendor.
in present company we are directly doing return Po and capturing excise invoice with J1is,here we are not capturing against the
incoming excise,please clarify me.
Regards,
VarunHi,
Refer the below thread:
Difference between 102, 122 and 161
In terms of stock movement, both 122 and 161 represents the return delivery to your vendor. The difference takes place in terms of how you are returning your delivery to your vendor - It is movement type 161 that SAP will automatically propose if your return PO is referenced. Otherwise, 122 movement type will be used instead.

Difference between unapplied cash and unapplied receipts
Can anyone explain the Difference between unapplied cash and unapplied receipt ?
Unapplied cash simply means customer over paid and there is some dollar left which is 'Unapplied' then there is no transaction or Credit Memo associated to the unapplied amount.
Unapplied receipt : You have only collected the money from customer ie receipt is created but you havn't tag this particular invoice is being appllied. -

Difference between Session method and call transaction
Hi,
please give me the differences between session method and call transaction,
briefly explaining synchronus , asynchronus, process, update.
Thanks in advanceHi Vijay Kumar
CLASSICAL BATCH INPUT (Session Method)
CALL TRANSACTION
BATCH INPUT METHOD:
This method is also called as CLASSICAL METHOD.
Features:
Asynchronous processing.
Synchronous Processing in database update.
Transfer data for more than one transaction.
Batch input processing log will be generated.
During processing, no transaction is started until the previous transaction has been written to the database.
CALL TRANSACTION METHOD :
This is another method to transfer data from the legacy system.
Features:
Synchronous processing. The system performs a database commit immediately before and after the CALL TRANSACTION USING statement.
Updating the database can be either synchronous or asynchronous. The program specifies the update type.
Transfer data for a single transaction.
Transfers data for a sequence of dialog screens.
No batch input processing log is generated.
http://www.sap-img.com/abap/difference-between-batch-input-and-call-transaction-in-bdc.htm
Among the two methods call transaction is better compared to session bcoz data transfer is faster in it.
Differences between call transaction and session.
Session Method:
1) Data is not updated in the database table until the session is processed.
2) No sy-subrc is returned.
3) Error log is created for error records.
4) Updation is always synchronous.
Call Transaction Method:
1) Immediate updation in the database table.
2) sy-subrc is returned.
3)Error need to be handled explicitly.
4) updation can be synchronous as well as asynchronous.
2) ya u can use using the N mode no screen.
3)u can't handle multiple transaction in call transaction.
4) u can handle multiple transaction in session using the BDC_INSERT fm.
5)When u go to SM35 u can able to see the error records.
Which is best?
That depends on your requirement. Both of them have there advantages.
According to the situation u can choose any one of these.
difference between batch input and call transaction in BDC Session method.
1) synchronous processing.
2) can tranfer large amount of data.
3) processing is slower.
4) error log is created
5) data is not updated until session is processed.
Call transaction.
1) asynchronous processing
2) can transfer small amount of data
3) processing is faster.
4) errors need to be handled explicitly
5) data is updated automatically
For session method, these are the function modules to b used.
BDC_OPEN_GROUP
BDC_INSERT
BDC_CLOSE_GROUP
For call transaction, this is the syntax.
CALL TRANSACTION TCODE USING BDCDATA
MODE A or E or N
UPDATE A or S
MESSAGES INTO MESSTAB.
Take a scenario where we need to post documents in FB01 and the input file has say 2000 records (2000 documents, not line items in FB01 but 2000 records)
In the BDC call transaction method
We call the transaction FB01 2000 times (once for each record posting) and if the processing fails in record no 3 it can be captured and start with reocord 4.
Eg: Loop at itab.
call transaction FB01
capture errors
endloop.
In the session method.
We do not explicity call the transaction 2000 times, but all the records are appeneded into a session and this session is stored. The processinf of the session is done wwhenever the user wants it to be done. Hence the errors cannot be captured in the program itself
Check these link:
http://www.sap-img.com/abap/difference-between-batch-input-and-call-transaction-in-bdc.htm
http://www.sap-img.com/abap/question-about-bdc-program.htm
http://www.itcserver.com/blog/2006/06/30/batch-input-vs-call-transaction/
http://www.planetsap.com/bdc_main_page.htm
Batch Input Session method is asynchronous as told by others here. But the advantage of this is that you have all the error messages and the data for each transaction held persistantly. You don't have to code anything for processing them or writing the logs.
But at the same time, the same feature can be disadvantageous if you need to react to an error or if there are too many errors to manually correct in a session. Since the session are created in the program and its execution is done seperately, you loose the trackability of such transactions.
With a call transaction, what was a disadvantage above will become an advantage. Call transaction immediately gives you messages back and you can react to it in your program. But the disadvantage is that, if you have several hundreds of transactions to run, running them from within the program can be resource crunching affair. It will hamper the system performance and you cannot really distribute the load. Of course, you have some mechanisms with which you can overcome this, but you will have to code for it. Also, storing the messages and storing the errored transaction data etc will have to be handled by you in the program. Whereas, in batch input session, your program's job is to just create the session, after that everything is standard SAP system's responsibility.
Ideally, you should do a call transaction if the resources are not a problem and if it fails, put the errored transaction into a session.
You can decide based on the data volume that your BDC is processing. If data volume is high go for session else call transaction will do.The call transaction updates will be instantaneous where as session needs to be processed explictly after creation.
Session Method
1) Session method supports both small amount of data aswell as large amount of data
2) data processing is asynchronus and data updation is synchronus.
3) it process multiple apllication while perfomaning validations.
4) in session method data will be updated in data base only after processing session only.
5) system provide by default logfile for handling error records.
6) it supports both foreground aswell as background process
in bdc we use FM ...
bdc_open_group " for creating Session
bdc_insert " adding transaction and bdcdata table for updating database
bdc_close_group " for closing Session
Call Transaction
1) Call transaction exclusively for small amout of data
2) it supports only one apllication while perfoming validations
3) there is no default logfile, We can explicitly provide logic for creating logfile for handling error records.
we can create logfile by using structure....BDCMSGCOLL
4) it doesn't support background processing.
5) data processing is synchronous and Data updation is Synchronous( default), in
this method also supports daya updation in asynchronus process also.
syntax:
Call transaction <transaction-name> using BDCDATA
mode <A/N/E>
update <L/A/S>
messages into BDCMSGCOLL.
BDC:
Batch Data Communication (BDC) is the process of transferring data from one SAP System to another SAP system or from a non-SAP system to SAP System.
Features :
BDC is an automatic procedure.
This method is used to transfer large amount of data that is available in electronic medium.
BDC can be used primarily when installing the SAP system and when transferring data from a legacy system (external system).
BDC uses normal transaction codes to transfer data.
Types of BDC :

Difference between Subsequent credit and Credit memo
Hi,
Please tell me what is differnece between Subsequent credit and Credit memo.
You shoud give me on business exmple
Thanks and Regards
Anil PatilHi Anil,
For CREDIT MEMO
A Credit Memo (short for "credit memorandum") is a commercial document issued by a seller to a buyer, listing the products, quantities and agreed prices for products or services the seller provided the buyer, but the buyer did not receive or returned. It may be issued in the case of damaged goods, errors or allowances. In respect of the previously issued invoice, a Credit Memo will reduce or eliminate the amount the buyer has to pay.
The Credit Memo usually contains: PO #, Date, Billing Address, Shipping Address, Terms of Payment, List of products with quantities and prices. Usually it references the original Invoice and sometimes states the reason for issue.
Credit Memos are often called Credit Notes or just Credits.
The seller usually issues a Credit Memo for the same or lower amount than the invoice, and then repays the money to the buyer or sets it off against a balance due from other transactions.
The term may also refer to the document provided by a bank to a depositor to indicate the depositor's balance is being increased because of an event other than a deposit, such as the collection by the bank of the depositor's note receivable.
SAP Difference between Credit memo and subsequent debits/credits
Subsequent Debits/Credits are used in cases where the quantity is in the original invoice is to remain the same.
Example:
PO 10 - $10
GR 10 - $10
LIV 10 - $11 (Logistics Invoice Verification)
The vendor invoice is more than that in the Purchase Order.
In order to correct, the Vendor may send in another invoice for the Increased amount
or a credit memo for the reduce amount.
If you approve of the price increase,
post the subsequent invoice received as a Subsequent Debit Invoice.
If it is a credit memo that has been received for reducing $1 of invoice price,
then post the credit memo as Subsequent Credit.
This would retain the quantity but reduce the amount.
Subsequent Debit/Credit is for the case when the credit is not for the full amount
eg. if the Vendor decided to credit & only the $1 overcharged.
Credit memo is for the credit of the full amount and value.

Difference between Data-centric and Document-centric use
Hi,
Can someone suggest what exactly is the difference between Data-centric and Document-centric use and examples if any.
Thanks in advance.
ChaitanyaMaybe it helps if you look at it this way...
Document centric: document centric use of xml data is data that you always use in its complete form. If you want to use the data, then you always will retrieve it as one entity or you save it as one entity. You are not interested in the xml data / information inside this "package" / document, you are only interested in its total form. Lets say, you have an invoice which can be printed on one sheet of paper. This paper that contains you data, will always be treated in a document driven way, that is, in its total representation: information containted on a sheet of paper (document).
Data centric. data centric use of xml, is usage of data were the main interest point is focused on only pieces of the total set of xml data within a document. So instead of being interested in the whole invoice, you only are interested in information like "amount of money to be payed" or "invoicenumber".
Handling of XML data comes with (hidden) costs. Knowing how your data will be used, has to be used, is one of the first steps in designing you environment (and will have an big impact if you choose poorly). For instance, if you know that your data will always be handled (and must be stored) in a document driven way, then it will make sense to store it based on CLOB based XMLType storage. This will garantee best performance retrieval for your xml document. If you now that your xml data has to be stored so that it can be handled in a data centric way, then Object Relational XMLType storage. If conditions are setup properly data retrieval, inserts and updates will be more cost efficient then when based on CLOB XMLType storage.
There are more differences and "cost markers" when or when not to use CLOB, OR or for instance Binary XML. The first two chapters of the XMLDB Developers Guide for Oracle 11g will give you a good head start making some of those decisions. Be also aware that you probably will have to make compromises. The current state of XML, for example, doesn't have the final solution yet for a uniform storage method.
