Difference between changes in OM/PA infotype records

Hi people,
can you pls help me with one topic.
Is there any way to diference changes infotype records between changes done by program upload (lsmw or custom programs) and manually via pa30/pa40.
Can it be stored somewhere in the infotype structure that records are done by mass uploading.
Thanks for ideas.
Best regards,
Romano

Hello Romano,
As mentioned in the earlier posts that all entries have a UNAME attached to it in the Infotypes which tell us the owner who marked/initiated the change.
There are options to achieve the type of design which you want. Lets say we maintain a Custom Table which would store the UNAME , T-CODE and DATE fields.
In the PA User Exits we develop the copy that in each PAI action update the Custom Table. It should solve your case.
It is not a very staright forward solution , but it would serve your cause.
Thanks & Regards,

  • Difference between Change request and Service request

    HI All,
Can any body tell me the actual difference between Change request and Service Request. Does it have any difference ? Or they are same.

Are you referring to the project Specific Terms ??? If yes, then following are the differences.
Change Request - Suppose user is using a Sales Report which displays Revenue by Customer. Now the user wants to see the same by Product as well which is not available in the current report. So the user raises a Change request and the development team works on it to include the same and make it avaialable for the user.
Service Request - These kind of requests are more likely raised when the user needs access to some system (raise service request to Security team), wants to move a transport to the Production box (raise Service request to Basis Team)..etc.

  • Difference between "change auth data " and "expert mode" in pfcg

    Gurus ,
i need to know , what is the difference between
    "change  authorization data "
    and
"expert mode for profile generation" in PFCG .
and what is the significance of the three options that we get when we choose expert mode ?

    Hi Susin,
To change the authorization data for the transactions assigned to the role, choose Change Authorization Data or Expert Mode for Profile Generation.
If you are generating the profile for the first time, there is no difference between the two modes.
When you change a role, you must regenerate the authorization profile. In this case, the status of the profile generation is displayed red or yellow at the top of the Authorizations tab page.
If the status display is red, you must perform an authorization data comparison, since the menu was changed since the last profile generation or no authorization data exists.
If the display is yellow, the authorization data for the role was changed and saved after the last generation. The generated profile is no longer current. You need to regenerate it.
The significance of the three options that we get when we choose expert mode is as follows:
Choose one of the options to maintain the authorization values (in normal mode, the correct option is automatically set):
1> Delete and recreate profile and authorizations
All authorizations are recreated. Values which had previously been maintained, changed or entered manually are lost. Only the maintained values for organizational levels remain.
    2> Edit old status
The last saved authorization data for the role is displayed. This is not useful, if transactions in the role menu have been changed.
3> Read old status and compare with new data
If you change transactions in the role menu, this option is the preconfigured. The profile generator compares the existing authorization data with the authorization default values for the menu transactions. If new authorizations are added during this process, they receive the status New. Authorizations that already existed receive the status Old.
Note the following during the comparison:
Values for organizational levels that are no longer required are deleted, all others are retained. If new organizational levels are added, you need to maintain them.
The standard authorization for the object S_TCODE is always automatically filled with the current transactions from the role menu. It cannot be copied or manually changed, only deactivated.
    Thanks,
    Saby..

  • ECM-Difference between Change Unnecessaryand Change Impossible

    Hi
Could anyone throw me some light on Object status of ECR Change Unnecessary and Change Impossible.
Becasue result both are not allowing to use the change number.
Then what could be the difference between these two statuses.

    The difference is as below
Usually the change request is comming from user.
After studying the request and modification required, you can go for
    change possible
    Change unnecessary
    chnage impossible.
if chnage is okay- then first option, if change is not okay thne we have 2 options
    Change unnecessary
    chnage impossible.
If change is rejected then you have to be clear that what requested by user is unnecessary or it is not possible in the system.
To indicate this these two options are used. We can take the report of such cases.
Hence wheever new request is comming first this will be chceked with these cases then only taken up for change.
please come back if u have any question
Ex- design change is requested, but it is unnecessary as value it is going to add is very less even those change is possible.
Some times design change is requested, but not possible to impliment-such cases go with - change impossible.

  • [Qualif.] Difference between object type 'Q' and infotype 0024

    Hi,
For the xRPM 4.0 solution, we need to maintain skills for resources. There is a HCM integration functionality to import skills from a HR system to Business Partners (which - basically - represent users that can be staffed on a project in the xRPM solution).
Today, there is no skill management in our HR system.
There are 2 notions that look very similar to me :
    - <b>Infotype 0024</b> [Transaction PA20/PA30] : contains Qualifications of a user in PA (Personal Adminsitration) with the standard table T574A holding the possible values
    - <b>Organizational Structure</b> (HRP1000/HRP1001) [transaction BP / PP* ?]: with the objects Qualifications 'Q' and Qualifications Group 'QK'
It seems taht the integration operates on the Organizational Structure. But we would like to assess both solutions.
<b>What is the difference (pros&cons) between the 2 of them ?</b>
    Thanks in advance.

To be precise, the way Infotype 24 behaves depends on whether integration between PA and PD is active.  This is controlled by setting PLOGI QUALI in table T77S0.  There are also other settings in this table that affect how quals work in an integrated scenario, you will find these in the QUALI XXXX section.
If integration is active, the qualifications are maintained in a catalogue via transaction OOQA.  What you see in IT0024 are the object Q <--> P relationships as mentioned above once a qualification object has been assigned to the employee.  This option has the advantages of being able to use the integrated objects in othe modules e.g. as prerequisites or imparted quals in the training module, skills/requirements matchup etc.  The down side is that being PD objects, these are more difficult to report with SAP Query or Adhoc Query tools, but there are ways of doing it.
If integration is not active, the data is simple stored in PA table PA0024 and the quals themselves are set up via the IMG.  The data really can't be used in any other module, but the reporting aspects are much easier with the standard query tools.

  • Difference between Change Authorization Data / Display Authorization Data

    Hello,
My question is wrt to implementation of "principle of treble control" i.e three SAP administrators i.e.
    1. Authorization data administrator
    2. Authorization profile administrator
    3. User Administrator
    I have created a role & added a transaction to it e.g. "FAGLL03" or "FF67".
No authorization data is displayed in the authorization tab unless I enter authorization tab with change button and provide inputs for org level field & generate profile. Even when I save the profile with the proposed name, it status still says "No authorization data exists". Since no authorization data is available, administrator 2 is unable to generate profile. If administrator 1 has to generate profile then why is administrator 2 required.
    Definition of Administrator 1 is:
The authorization data administrator creates the roles, selects transactions and
maintains the authorization data. He or she simply saves the data in the Profile
Generator since he does not have the necessary authorization for generating the
profile. He or she accepts the proposed profile name “T-...”. The authorization data
administrator may not change users, nor generate profiles.
    Definition of Administrator 2 is:
The authorization profile administrator starts transaction “SUPC” and chooses All
Roles. He or she then restricts his selection, for example by entering the ID of the
role to be edited. On the next screen, he or she chooses Display Profile to check
the data. If all the data is correct, he or she generates the authorization profile. The
authorization profile administrator may not change users, change the data for roles,
nor generate profiles containing authorization objects beginning with S_USER*.
    Thanks.

    Hasan Saeed Khan wrote:
Actually I started off my question with the "implementation of treble control" that SAP course AD940 suggests.
I had never heard of this treble control and the added value of splitting rolebuilding and profile generation doesn't make much sense to me but that's my personal opinion.
On the technical side of things: in your first post you state "No authorization data is displayed in the authorization tab unless I enter authorization tab with change button and provide inputs for org level field & generate profile."
It is also possible to change the data and save this but not generate the profile yet. I just tried this by doing the following:
    Create role
    Add transactions to menu
Edit profile, org levels & authroization data.
    Hit 'save'.
    Accept proposed profile name.
Go back to PFCG main screen and ignore message of profile not being generated. (Click 'continue')
And this leaves me with a role with yellow traffic light on the authorization tab an the profile status is: "Current version not generated"
So it should be possible to maintain roles and profiles separately.

This example defines a subroutine subr with a parameter interface consisting of five formal parameters, f1 to f5. The subroutine is called internally three times. The actual parameters are the data objects a1 to a5. The three subroutine calls are all equally valid. There are further PERFORM statements that are also equally valid, so long as the sequence of the actual parameters remains unchanged. In each call, a1 is passed to f1, a2 to f2, and so on. When the subroutine ends, a3, a4, and a5 receive the values of f3, f4, and f5 respectively. The third of the subroutine calls documents in the program what the parameter interface of the subroutine shows, namely that only a4 and a5 are changed. In the case of reference parameter f3, it depends on the programming of the subroutine whether a3 is changed all the same.

  • Difference between Delta "Change Log" and "Active Table (Without Archive)"?

In BI7.0 environment, we perform our Delta loads (the DTP settings under the Extraction tab, there is a field called Extraction Mode and it's value is selected as "Delta") every day among all our DSOs.
There is a section called "Delta Init. Extraction From..." under the same tab in DTP, there are four radio buttons:
    Active Table (With Archive)
    Active Table (Without Archive)
    Archive (Full Extraction Only)
    Change Log
Then what is the difference between "Change Log" and "Active Table (Without Archive)" if both Extraction Mode is "Delta" for two Delta loads?
    Thanks!

    Hi ,
The new options SP16 has are:(Chk Note 1096771)
    Active Table (with Archive)
The data is read from the active table and from the archive or from a near-line storage if one exists. You can choose this option even if there is no active data archiving process yet for the DataStore object.
    Active Table (Without Archive)
The data is only read from the active table. If there is data in the archive or in a near-line storage at the time of extraction, this data is not extracted.
    Archive (Only Full Extraction)
The data is only read from the archive or from a near-line storage. Data is not extracted from the active table.
    Change Log
The data is read from the change log of the DataStore object.
Delta will always be picked from change log table.Only during intialization you can choose between getting data from change log or active table. If you are doing the load first time and are initializzing delta in subsequent data targets, then pulling data from active table will get lesse volume of data then it would have got from change log table....All subsequent deltas will be picked up from the change log.  And when we need to reload data into the data target (which would be a full load) - we use active table.
From change log : you can take below ones as targets
    1) Cube 2) DSO with Addition as the update for the Keyfigures
From Active table: you can take below ones as targets
    1) Cube ,if and only if, the records are never changes in the source once after creation
    2) DSO with Addition as the update for the Keyfigures ,if and only if, the records are never changes in the source once after creation
    3) DSO with Overwrite as the update for the Keyfigures ( incase deletions is not happening in the source system)

  • What is difference between additive delta and new status for change record

    Hi
Additive delta --- We will get the changed quantity.
say suppose you have sales order and quantity like  1111   30 which is loaded to cube(BW).
now same record qty has changed from 30 to 40. As we have additive delta, we will get new record as 1111  10.
new status for change record: This is same as like After image delta type in standard SAP data sources. for every change in record you should have new record.
say if you have any number which will be generated by system for new/changed record, then you can use this.
You can use this option when delta option set to "numeric pointer"

  • Difference between earliest master data and master data change bonus

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me what is the exact difference between earliest master data change and master data change bonus? Whenver any infotype is changed, why are the dates updated in both the fields? Is  it not enough if only Earliest master data change field is updated? I was thinking that Earliest master data change bonus field is updated when IT267 is created, but even if i change the time data both the fields are getting updated. Please advise?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Earliest master dat change date is date beyond which no master data change can be put in for employee in infotype.
It is used to restrict any master data entry beyond certain date as restriction for employees that client has set and is moreover controlled at control record level but ocassionally used at employee level whenever payment was hold for long time and so on.
Master data change bonus date is date which gets automatically filled in whenever there is any master data change.
This date cannot be past earliest master data change date and will throw error if tried for employee to input.
    Thanks,
    Ameet

  • Hi Friends what are the actual differences between  AT NEW & ON CHANGE

what are the actual differences between  AT NEW & ON CHANGE ? can you list some of the differences?

    Hi,
    At New
    1. When a new record comes at new triggers. Atnew only used inside loop and endloop.
    2. At new is controlbreak statment on at new the left side field change, the event
trigers and the values become 0 and *
    On Change
    1. On change of works same like at-new but the diff is it can be used out side of a loop, like select and endselect, case endcase.
2.. on change of is not a control break statement and we can use onchange of out side the loop
    and
The Major difference between the two is that AT NEW can be used ONLY for INTERNAL TABLES, while ON CHANGE OF can be used for any loop processing i.e do..enddo, while..endwhile and loop..endloop also.
    AT NEW <field>
The block will be executed when the SY-TABIX is 1 (or) when the SY-TABIX 1 value has a change with the SY-TABIX value.
With this block the field towards the right to the field are not accessable with in the block, and are shown with '*'. They can be accessed outside the block.
    ON CHANGE OF <itab>-<field>
The block also works similar to the AT First. In this block all the fields are accesseble.
ON CHANGE OF triggers whenever there is a change in that particular field.
AT NEW triggers whenever there is a change in the fields before that particular field.ie. if there is a change in that combinations from the first field.
On change off' works on variabels. The 1st time the statement isreached a memory copy is made of the value. The next time the statementis reached, the current value is compared to the stored value. If thereis a difference, the coding between ON... and ENDON. is executed. Youcan use this for a table workarea field, but if you have the table loopin a routine and the routine called several times, you can get unwantedresults. (Check the value of the last loop with the value of the firstnew loop.)
The AT NEW (and others like AT END OF...) are specially for table loopprocessing. The coding between AT new FIELD and ANDAT is triggerdwhenever a the field or any field defined to the left is changed. Yourtable should be sorted by all fields from the left up to the consideredFIELD. Btw all fields to the right contain *, so it can be usefull tohave a second workarea filled to be printed or what ever you want.

  • Difference between Activating Master Data and Attribute Change Run

    Hi
Is there any difference between Atribute change run and Activating Master data functionaaly???
    if wha it is???
    can any one explain clearly?
    Thanks
    Chinna

When u load master data and its attribute to ur data target and if u change any data or attributes of ur master data,in order to update new data to ur data target attribute change run is performed.
When u create a characteristic and if u keep it as master data and activated..it is master data activation
    Activating Master Data
When you update master data from an SAP system the master data is imported in an inactive state. You must activate the new master data so that it can be accessed and used for reporting purposes.
For more information, see Versioning Master Data.
Choose the path InfoObject Tree Context Menu of Corresponding Characteristic Activate Master Data.
Upon Activation there are two scenarios to choose from:
The Corresponding Master Data Is Already Being Used in Aggregates in the InfoCube:
If you are already using the available master data in aggregates in InfoCubes, you cannot activate the master data individually. In this case, proceed as follows:
    1. In the main menu, choose the path Tools Hierarchy/Attribute Change.
    2. Proceed as described in System Response upon Changes to Data: Aggregate.
The system now automatically restructures and activates the master data and its aggregates.
Please note that this process can take several hours if the volume of data is relatively high. Therefore, you should simultaneously activate all of the characteristics that are affected by changes to their master data, at regular intervals.
The Corresponding Master Data Is Not Used in Aggregates:
Choose the path InfoObject Tree ® Context Menu of Corresponding Characteristic Activate.
The system now automatically activates the master data so that it can be used directly in reporting.
If there is any change r newly added records in master data..then that particular data will not b avialable for the reporting unless u do activate master data...
if u r using aggregates and then there is any change in master data ...then that particular master data change wil not b available for the reporting unless u do arrtibute change run for that info object.(T-code RSATTR)
Master data attributes and hierachies are used in cube aggregates also. So to do update the latest master data attributes values in the aggregtes attribute change run need to be performed. So Attribute change run also updates the master data attributes in aggregates which is not apart of master data activation.
Text loads do not need attribute change run. Attributes, hierarchies and aggregates need attribute/hierarchy change runs. If you do not have aggregates, just activating the master data is same as attribute change run.

  • Difference between a Change-run and Activate master data

    Hi experts,
Could you tell me what is the difference between making a change-run on a masterdata (rsa1 --> Tools --> Apply Hierarchy/Attribute Change...), and making a right-click on this masterdata and click on "Activate master data" ?
The result seems to be the same, all rows in version M (Revised) are changed in version A (Active)...
    Thanks for your help.
    Tempka.

    Hi
Change run will update the master data changes in Aggregates and update the object master data as well.
Activate master data will only activate the new records and it will not update the aggregates.
