Difference between Community Projects & Projects at Collab 4.0?

Could anyone tell me what's the difference between "Community Projects" vs "Projects" at Collaboration 4.0?

In addition to what George has said, Adobe Reader X version 10.0.3 is only for Mac platforms. For windows platforms, latest version is 10.0.1 only. So if you are using Windows, you should not see any updates to Reader X (10.0.1) as of now.
Also you can see all the Reader features at http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/features.html
From the feature dropdown, select "New features" to see what features are added to Reader X.
For Reader 9, the latest version is 9.4.4
Also in future you can visit the link http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/ which will guide you about the latest update available for your product. You may even download these installers from above link to apply patch manually.
Thanks,
Karan

Yes it is. The Oracle database wasn't initially designed to be ANSI compliant. As you correctly state the ANSI standards weren't around when it was initially designed, so the statement is perfectly correct. ;)Ok, in one sense it may be correct but it is a completely misleading statement. Not sure why you think it's misleading.Because there was no ANSI standard, so making it sound like a design choice The Oracle database wasn't initially designed to be ANSI compliant. would suggest to most readers that there was a standard to be compliant to.
Like saying Ford originally did not design their cars to incorporate safety features such as ABS, seat belts and air bags.
The OP asked "why oracle is having different syntaxes for joins than ANSI syntaxes ?" and the answer is that Oracle wasn't initially designed with ANSI compliance, so it has it's old non-ANSI syntax,As shown above, the old syntax was ANSI compliant at the time and to call it non-ANSI is either incorrect or misleading dependent on your point of view.
and since ANSI syntax became the standard it now supports that. And since ANSI switched to a new standard, Oracle had to implement the new standard as well as the previous ANSI standard would be more accurate in my opinion.
Nothing misleading as far as I'm aware in that.I find the whole discussion about ANSI and Oracle's supposed non-compliance, reads like it was Oracle's choice to deviate from the standards, when it was ANSI's bullheaded decisions to pointlessly change standards that left Oracle and other vendors out of compliance, and that was a decision made solely by ANSI.
This is probably the reason ANSI no longer produces SQL standards, the endless syntax fiddling would eventually have made forward left under outer joins a reality.

  • Difference Between Local Project and Global Project

    H Gurus,
What is the main difference between Local Implimentation Project and Global implimentation Project. If the Global project started with some interwels at various locations. Please tell me in respect of configuration of GL AR AP.

    Hi Kumar,
If the project started at various locations, the first thing you should take care, is setting of posting period variants and fiscal year variants.  next will be time schdules, as there will be climatic and timing constraints which may cause some work disorders.  Last but not least is, co-ordination among all project locations. I think this will help to some extent.

  • Difference between Communication and System User

    Hello All,
I would like to know the difference between the Communication User and System User.
Definition wise, Yes, I know what they are for?
But My doubt is, why do we need a communication user type for RFC connections when we can use a System user.
Why did SAP designed these two types of users?

It's okay in my books for people to experience the internet as it is and not the way it was individually intended
SU01Solution already solved the problem actually, but there are some very fine peripheral differences still between the user types.
That is why asking a specific question and discussing it's merits / pro's and con's is the best approach and SAP also benefits from it.
Another obvious difference if you do a simple search is that SYSTEM type users cannot issue SAP logon tickets.
There are a few more but as I said these are peripheral and very use-case dependent... so SU01Solution needs to ask a proper and realistic question.
ps: ST01 is not the answer here either...
    Cheers,

  • Difference between Aggregator Project / Multi SCo packager / multi captivate projects with links...

Now I have to admit I am a little lost between the possibilities of captivate 8...
What differences exactly between these developements:
    Aggregator project?
    Multi sco packager?
or create a single file with mutliple Captivate projects all linked through the Action : "open the project or URL"....?
If I need only a single SCO on one unique completed course, should I use the project aggregator ?
but would the projects sizes be a problem? and explain why to use the Action : "link to project"..rather than the aggregator?
basically I wish one single file with all the courses accessible from one screen / (project?)
reports only on the course followed, resume on the course, back to the course Menu language selection .....
thanks for any help....the more i read the more i am lost... ;(

    Thank you for this details.
It seems then that none of this two, aggregator or packager, can be 'twisted' to be used in the Menu selection I need.
    Aggregator project?
A way to link several Captivate output files through a common menu created by the aggregator.
    >Does using the aggregator mean there are still several / each output files to be uploaded in the LMS separately?
Are you publishing to swf only?
    >I publish for the LMS plateform, swf, html, but also for IPads! Would it make a difference?
"You could also have your manifest point to a language selection page which would then launch the applicable Captivate files."
    >Is there a good video tutorial that would show how to link and publish captivate projects together? I have created a Cp menu page with buttons that would link to each cp (language) files but I am not sure I do it properly...
I need to be sure what to enter in the Actions/Link to file or link to URL field...and to follow the right step to publish and copy paste the files in the same (callees...) folder...
    Many thanks for your help!

  • Is there quality difference between iMovie project and QT shared file?

I have several scenes that I want to piece together. Each scene was edited and saved as a separate iMovie project. I also "shared" each of the edited scenes to create full quality QuickTime files. I now want to compile the scenes to create a short film (actually an actor's demo reel). My reason for importing the QT files would be to have simpler uncut scenes as opposed to importing each of the iMovie projects, which would result in hundreds of tiny clips. It just seems like the fewer scenes/clips the easier it will be to make transitions, etc. But, will I lose quality (video or audio) by using the QuickTime files instead of the iMovie projects? Thanks.

it just looked lower quality in the QuickTime Player.
probably just my mind. thanks for the assurance.
Don't worry; your mind (and your eyes) are okay. What you see is normal.
By default, a Full Quality movie does not look beautiful. Playback quality is reduced, making it easier for your Mac to play the movie. But if you have QuickTime Pro you can adjust the movie's playback settings to see all the quality that's there. Even then it will appear to be "stretched". That's normal too.
Full Quality means it contains all the data of the source material with no loss of quality, not that it delivers great playback quality. A Full Quality movie is not intended for playing movies, and it's too large to share. Its sole purpose is to preserve the quality of the video/audio, letting you copy it from place to place with no loss of quality.
Actually, when you use QT Pro to adjust the playback settings of a Full Quality movie, it actually looks BETTER than iMovie's own display. iMovie never shows you all the quality that's there. (One of the benefits of having QuickTime Pro.)

  • Difference between communication via pipes and process.in/outputstream

    Hi,
I think i have to make two processes communicate.
I did already a small testprogram, where the processes were launched via:
    ProcessBuilder pb = new ProcessBuilder("java";"testprog");
    Process p;
    p = pb.start();
And thereafter I took the p.getIn/OutputStream to make them communicate.
However, now I found that another way to make processes communicate is via "pipes" or "piped streams".
Is this so much better, why and what are the differences?

Well, since our old java libraries were relying via JNI on native methods, a lot of problems came up when using multithreaded applications. Problems such as what? Java has been multi-threaded since day one, so your JNI code always had to cope with multithreading. This is not a new requirement. The JNI libraries should have been compiled and linked for multithreading. If they weren't, do that now.
I would fix the problem rather than going any further down this path. There are all sorts of issues with converting threads into processes. For one thing the shared address space will disappear, which is usually a strong motive for using threads in the first place. I don't think you've even begun to appreciate the difficulties you'll be getting into..
    Fix the JNI.

  • IDK automatically adding Everyone group to collab community project

    Hi,
I deleted Everyone group from the community project members. I tried to read the properties of community project of collab using the IDK. What I observed is IDK call automatically adding Everyone group in the members. Can anybody tell me the reason why its happening.
Note: I am 100% sure that i am not changing any property of the community project using portal collab ui or using the IDK.

    Hi Juan,
I just made a test with my Project Online instance and when I create a new user, the team member group is already selected in the user's creation interface. Thus by default, any user will be in the team member group.

  • Difference between implementation, support & upgradation projects

    Hello Friends,
I am new to SAP. Can anyone tell me what are implementation, support & upgradation projects..what are the differences between those projects? what is role of ABAP developer in these projects?
    Regards,

    Hi,
SAP Implementation: SAP Implementation is the whole of processes that defines a complete method to
implement SAP software in an organization. It is based on best practices and case studies from various
literature sources and presents a collection of processes and products that make up a complete
implementation method to allow any organization to plan and execute the implementation of SAP (ERP)
software. The SAP implementation process is made up out of four main phases, i.e. the project preparation
where a vision of the future-state of the SAP solution is being created, a sizing and blueprinting phase
where the solution stack is created and training is being performed, a functional development phase and
finally a final preparation phase, when the last tests are being performed before the actual go live.
ABAP Developer Role is to prepare the Technical Specification (based on a Functional Specification given
by a Functional Consultant), build the code, Review the code and finally to prepare the Unit Test Cases.
Sometimes ABAPer may be asked to do a technical research for an optimal solution.
SAP Support: After a go live, the application needs a maintenance/support to resolve the issues/tickets raised by the users when using the application.Ticket is like a request for changes/bug fixing or a request for a new
ABAP Developer Role includes bug fixing/change the existing code due to new requirements/build a new code etc.
SAP Upgrade: SAP Upgrade is nothing but upgrading the software with a superior version which has got more advantages when compared to the earlier version.
ABAP Developer Role is to go through transactions SPAU/SPDD to compare the old and new version of the change and finally need to activate the relevant one. Some times might need to work on SAP notes too.
    Hope this helps.

  • Difference between a folder, a project and an album?

I've been using Aperture a lot and feel like I have a good handle on the way it works and looks at the world. One question I come back to is what are the exact differences between Folders, Projects and Albums?
    Check these assumptions/beliefs/misconceptions:
    - an album can contain versions
    - a project can contain albums
    - a folder can contain projects and albums and other folders
    - a project can contain a folder
    - if I 'move' (drag and drop) a version from one album to another, then it in fact disappears from the first one and appears in the second one
    - but other combinations, like from an album to a project, etc. produce other results
    - if a folder contains two albums, and I brows the folder I see all the versions in both albums
... I am not sure what the differences are and why I couldn't do all of it just with folders.
... I also don't see the rhyme or reason to how each works
Any pointer, link or explanation would be greatly appreciated!!
    Thanks,
    Pito

I'm partial to that one, too.  .  The formatting got busted when Discussions were upgraded.  Anything between plus signs should be in italics.
    Here it is correctly formatted:
The Well-trod Path. Walk it unless you have a map for a different route.
The Library is your image database. It contains all the information Aperture has about your images: where they are stored on your computer/drives/network, how you have them organized within Aperture, what adjustments you have made to them, all the pre-Aperture metadata (EXIF, IPTC, keywords, etc.) they had before you imported them into Aperture, and all the Aperture metadata (Version names, ratings, color labels, Stacks, additional keywords, etc.) you assign to them from within Aperture. The Library also contains small copies of each image (in effect, thumbnails, but in Aperture larger than actual thumbnails and called "Previews").
The image is the core record in your Aperture database. The database is a giant list of images with a whole bunch of information assigned to each image.
Within Aperture you can view individual images and any grouping of images. You can create a group based on any of the information you have about your images.
The Project is your primary image holder. It has a unique, privileged relationship with your images: Every image must be in a Project; No image can be in more than one Project. You should make a Project from every actual, out-in-the-world photo shoot that you do. Shoot=Project. Stick to this (the mis-naming of "Project" is one of the worst interface decisions made in Aperture).
You will regularly want to view your images in groups other than the Project in which they reside. Aperture provides several specific containers for this (as well as superb tools for creating ad hoc groupings). As a family, those containers are Albums. Aperture includes (regular) Albums, Smart Albums, and the following albums dedicated to special tasks: Book, Light Table, Slide Show, Web Journal, Web Page. Any image can be in any album, and can be in as many albums as you want.
As your Aperture database grows, you will want to organize your Projects and Albums. Aperture provides Folders to aid you. Folders hold groups of Projects, Albums, and other Folders. Folders cannot contain images which are not in a Project or Album: You do not put images in Folders; you put containers in Folders.
The organization of your image database is entirely for you to customize for your needs.
There are two additional pieces of the Aperture puzzle every new user needs to understand in order to make good use of it.
In additional to what I listed above, your Library may or may not contain your original image files. Each image in Aperture has an original. Aperture is non-destructive -- your original image files are never altered. If the original image file is contained within your Library, it is called a Managed Master (Aperture's pointer to this file, and the file itself, are both inside the Library). If the original image file is not contained within your Library, it is called a Referenced Master (the pointer in your Aperture Library points to a file outside your Aperture Library). Referenced Masters bring some important advantages -- but the new user of Aperture can rely on Managed Masters until the need for Referenced Masters arises. Aperture makes is easy to convert your original image files back and forth from Managed to Referenced.
A Version is the name given to the variants and copies you make of you original image within Aperture. You use Aperture's tools to make Adjustments to images. Each group of adjustments you make to one image is saved as a Version. You can (and should) create as many Versions as you need. Versions appear as images, but are simply text instructions which tell Aperture what Adjustments to make to the original image file. Aperture presents these to you on-the-fly. This is brilliant. It means that Versions are minuscule compared to Masters. The gain in storage and computational efficiency is enormous.
This also means that your images in Aperture do not exist as image format files. In order to create an image format file, you must export the image from within Aperture. There is no reason to do this until you need an image format file outside of Aperture.
Aperture, then, is best understood as a workspace for
    storing
    organizing
    adjusting
    preparing for publication, and
    publishing
    digital photographs.
    Your workflow is
    shoot
    import as Project(s)
    add image-specific metadata
organize into Albums, organize Albums and Projects with Folders
make adjustments to images (crop, rotate, change exposure, etc. etc. etc)
    prepare for publication
    publish.
    HTH.
    Thanks for posting the link.

  • Major Differences between Project Server and Project Proffessional

    Hi,
We are planning to use MS Project with SharePoint. In the initial research i came to know that we will need MS Project Professional to syn task lists on SharePoint. We are looking at a solution where all the Project Leaders (Across the world) can update
their project statuses online using SharePoint (right now this is being done manually).
I then came to know that we can access MS Project on SharePoint using MS Project Server. I am now not able to decide on which one to choose. So I want to know the major differences between MS Project server
and MS Project professional. Which one would full fill my requirements. I cannot limit my requirements to only updates. but also would want to add some extra features like Site Mail box and Project Issues log, so that my Project Management is more effective
    and is better.
    Please answer at earliest

    Srikar --
Microsoft Project Server 2013 is an enterprise project management (EPM) application in which all data is stored in a SQL Server database.  This EPM software application allows organizations to manage dozens, hundreds, or thousands of projects and
to manage dozens, hundreds, or thousands of resources as well.  To use Project Server 2013, your PMs would each need a copy of Microsoft Project Professional 2013 and would use this software to plan their projects and to save and publish the projects
to Project Server.  Your team members and executives would use their Internet Explorer to access the web-based user interface to Project Server 2013 called Project Web App, or PWA for short.
In PWA, your team members can use either The Timesheet page or the Tasks page to report progress on their task assignments.  In PWA, your PMs would be able to see the updates from their team members and be able to approve those updates.  Once
approved, the task updates are applied to the appropriate project so that the PM does NOT have to retype the updates.  For executives, PWA offers the Project Center page which shows the portfolio of published projects in Project Server, where they can
see the current status of each project.
Beyond this, Project Server also includes a Business Intelligence Center where your Project Server administrator can create very customized reports for various audiences.  In brief, there is a LOT of power in Project Server 2013.  If you think
you might want to use it, you have two options:  (1) Buy the software, install it yourself, set it up yourself, and maintain it yourself, or (2) contract with Microsoft to use Project Online, which is a hosted version of Project Server 2013 that is maintained
    by Microsoft in the cloud.
You can learn even more about Project Server 2013 at the following link:

  • What is the difference between project workflow activities UpdateProjectProperty and UpdateTextProperty in visual studion 2012?

    Hello All,
What is the difference between project workflow activities 'UpdateProjectProperty' and 'UpdateTextProperty' in visual studion 2012?

    Hi,
Both are developed with .NET framework, per my knowledge, the biggest difference would be the environment they applied to: one for Windows platform, one for SharePoint platform:

  • Is there any actual difference between Release, Debug and Debug Local configurations in SSRS project?

Is there any actual difference between Release, Debug and Debug Local configurations in SSRS project?
For example in VC++ Debug build would have all optimization turned off (by default) and included additional Debug information in executable.
Since there is no executable produced for SSRS - is there any actual difference between configurations? Or are they only for the purpose of deploying to different destination servers?

    Hi JoeSchmoe115,
The Project Configuration and Configuration Manager is a feature supported by Visual Studio, on which Business Intelligence Development Studio or SQL Server Data Tools is based. We can use Configuration Manager to create and manage sets of project properties
in project configurations. You are right that the project configurations is only for deployment purpose in a Report Server project.

  • In the shared variable properties box, when enabling aliasing, what is the difference between binding to a project variable vs. to a psp url

In the shared variable properties box, specifically with regard to a the target being an rt target, when enabling aliasing, what is the difference between binding to a project variable vs. to a psp url?

The difference is in the type of variable you are binding it to.  A project variable is a variable that lives within the specific project in which it was created.  A PSP URL is an address using the Publish-Subscribe Protocol (PSP).  You can learn more about PSP URLs here: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361G-01/lvconcepts/using_datasocket_technology/#Specifyin...
PSP URLs will enable it to communicate between different machines and also between projects which may or may not be open.  The project variable will exist within the project.
