Difference between CR Server XI and Business Objects Enterprise
Can anybody just tell me in brief what is the Difference between CR Server XI and Business Objects Enterprise?
Here's the brief summary:
CR Server is essentially Business Objects Enterprise with the following limitations:
- Limited to a single server (no clustering)
- Limited to a maximum of 4 CPUs
- Limited to the Crystal Reports content type
- Limited to a maximum of 20 Concurrent Users (or CAL - Concurrent Access License)
- One CAL can service between 5 and 10 'real people' depending on your usage patterns.
- No Web Intelligence
- No Crystal Xcelsius
- No Dashboarding
- No Enterprise Performance Management
- No Data Integrator
It is ideal for a departmental or a small company reporting server. It includes
- CAL licensing (BusinessObjects Enterprise doesn't)
- One copy of CR Developer Edition for every 5 CAL purchased (Report designers are extra with BusinessObjects Enterprise)
- Live Office for office integration
- Sharepoint 2003 Portal Integration Kit
- Web based report administration and consumption
- Business Views Manager for semantic layer maintenance
I hope this helps - let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks,

Difference between Crystal Reports Server 2008 and Business Objects XI R2
Can anyone please help me know the difference between Crystal Reports Server 2008 and Business Objects XI R2? Both the support guides says that it supports Office 2007. I have a problem in exporting the reports to Excel 2007 .I have downloaded the trial version of Crystal Reports Server 2008 but still unable to view my complete reports in Excel 2007 through infoview because few of my report's colums are truncated and it still exports in Excel 2003.I have LiveOfficeXIR2_SP4 and Office 2007 installed. Is it so that i have to switch over to Business Objects XI R2 or any other to solve my problem instead of using Crystal Reports Server 2008 or is it the problem with the version of my Live office.Pls help me regarding this..
Babita.Babita,
request you to post the same in the BO forums for more relevant answers...

Difference between ALBPM6.0 studio and ALBPM6.0 Enterprise server
Difference between ALBPM6.0 studio and ALBPM6.0 Enterprise server. Can anyone help on this.
Thanks in advance.Studio is the integrated development and test environment. As such, it's intended for designing processes, creating the UI for the screenflows, creating the objects and introspecting services that you want to tie into the process. Studio has a runtime engine that can be used by a single developer for testing purposes. It runs a little database called Derby and a Tomcat Web Server - again so the work done by a single developer can be tested on the developer's machine at runtime.
Enterprise on the other hand is the production environment. Unlike Studio, it does not have the capability to develop projects. It is the runtime environment where many end users can concurrently run their instances on an industrial strength engine. It can run on a standalone JVM or an application server.
Studio is for development. Enterprise if for Dev/QA/production environments where many users need to hit the engine and many instances need to run concurrently. -
What is the difference between Component,Server,Tool and Software?
HI,
What is the difference between Component,Server,Tool and Software?
SHABEERHi
Every individual part that constitutes in making an SAP System is called a COMPONENT.e.g DB instance, Java CI, ABAP CI etc
SERVER is the actual composition of different components of SAP.e.g. a database alongwith can instance would constitue an application server.
TOOLS are the products from different organisations (SAP or Non SAP) that can be used for different functionalities like keeping a check on jobs, monitoring of the system , e.g Tivoli
SOFTWARES are a kind of tool that help you to bring up results from the system in a user acceptable format. These are utilities that act as interfaces between the user and the system.

What's the difference between an audio INPUT and AUX object?
Can someone explain the difference between an audio INPUT and AUX object? They both seems to do pretty much the same thing ... when would you use 1 over the other?
revDave:
Suppose you're recording a guitar track and you want to add a very gentle compressor to avoid overload during the rec process. you need an audio input channel with a compressor inserted. this way, your guitar will be recorded with the compressor processed. If you use audio and midi gear and want to bounce your material, put all your midi audio in an audio input channel. This way, you don't have to use a real audio channel to record them. You can hear them, even use some plugins, and have them bounced with your audio channels.
Now, suppose you recorded three vocal channels, and want to use an equalizer. You need an aux object to send your vocal channels and use only one eq. This is very useful when you have similar materials recorded in diferent channels (2 guitars, vocals, pete/sax/bone, and so on). Send their outs to an aux object, insert the fx you want, and set the aux object's out to the main out of your project, and it's done.
I hope it helps you.

Difference between Terminal server connection and MSTSC remote desktop connection
Hi everyone , Wats the main difference between Terminal server connection and MSTSC remote desktop connection? Well both are used to connect a server remotely. right!
Are there any much difference between them?RDP is a protocol and MSTSC is the RDP client.
In the situation you are referring to, you use MSTSC (RDP Client) in both cases, but when you connect to a client PC (Windows 7, Windows XP, etc) you can only connect if nobody is using that PC at the moment, if you connect to a server you can work along with
some other users. Server OS supports 2 connections by default, if you want more people you need Remote Desktop Services and RDS licenses.

Difference between operating concern, segment and business area

Operating concern is the highest level of hierarchy in controlling area. Operating concern used to

internal profit of a SBU, Sales data analysis (COPA).They can even be used for Analysing balance sheet items

Segment- financial report information by line of business and geographical area
business area- equivalent to a specific area of responsibility within your company or business segment. This can be used for both internal and external reporting
Business areas are primarily used to facilitate external segment reporting across company

What is the difference between WebLogic Server users and Portal users
Hi All
What is the difference between users created in the WebLogic server and those
created from the webLogic Portal Admin console.
- leoHi Leo,
The WebLogic server console allows you to create users in the File realm (
http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/adminguide/cnfgsec.html#1057106 , "Defining
Users" ).
The WebLogic Portal Admin console creates Portal users in the alternate security
realm that was written to store user/password in the Portal schema. This realm is
com.bea.p13n.security.realm.RDBMSRealm. See the javadoc for RDBMSRealm at (
http://edocs.bea.com/wlp/docs40/javadoc/wlp/com/bea/p13n/security/realm/RDBMSRealm.html
For information on alternate security realms see
http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/security/prog.html#1041025 , "Writing a Custom
Security Realm".
For information on the File realm see
http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/ConsoleHelp/security.html , "Security" and also
search the WLS 6.1 docs for "File realm" for lots of other references.

Difference between HTTP Server port and HTTP Server listen port
Hi,
What's the difference between the following?
Oracle HTTP Server port = 7780
Oracle HTTP Server listen port = 7781
They are the ports used in my 9ias 9.0.3 instance.
Please advise.
Thank you.Hi,
The server port, 7780, is port where HTTP server response and listen ports are other ports tha HTTP Server can listen. In IAS, the default configuration, the server port is response for Web Cache and Web Cache connect with HTTP Server in listen port.

Difference between data logic operation and business operation
hiii, DI core, main component of DI API, performs all <b>data logic operaton</b> where as OBServer.dll perform <b>bussiness logic operation</b> at database level...
what is the difference between these operations????Hi Nirdesh,
The DI API offers a number of objects/methods that allow you to access the information stored in the database (tables) by using objects.
The DI API is represented by the SboBobCOM.dll, in your code you only add a reference to this COM dll. This dll offerst the objects/methods you can access.
The SbobobCOM.dll is using the OBServer.dll, this dll contains all the business logic rules (like for example: you cannot delete a BusinessPartern if it has already some documents created) that will control all actions you are trying to do with the DI API methods/objects.
You have a schema representing both dlls in the DI API help file -> Introduction -> DI API components section.

Difference between Presentation Server Cache and BI Server Cache
Hello Experts,
What is the Diff b/w Presentation Server Cache and BI Server Cache
Thanks,
S GoudaHello,
Okay, what do you want to do about caching at BI server and Presentation server.
A nQSXXXX.tmp is a temporary cache file which maintained by the BI Server for an analysis request by a user and is kind of shared data between the OBI Server and the OBI Presentation server. This is refereed as the 'Cursor Cache' which could be managed by going thru Administration> Manage Sessions > Clear Cursor Cache. These .tmp files are it is not related to BI Server cache.
By Default, the BI Server Cache is stored in the and stored as NQSxxxxx.tbl files. [middlware_home]/instances/instance1/bifoundation/OracleBIServerComponent/coreapplication_obis1/cache]
Caching occurs by default at the subrequest level, which results in multiple cache entries for some SQL statements. Caching subrequests improves performance and the cache hit ratio, especially for queries that combine real-time and historical data.
Below are some useful links for cache management in OBIEE 11g.

http://drazda.blogspot.com/2012/10/obiee-11g-cache-management.html

Pls mark itf this helps. Else post the exact questions you have about this post.

Difference between windows server 2008 and windows small buisness server
dear,sir/madm
i need a differeces between windows small buisness server and winndows server 2008.
plz get me perfect answer
regards,
AbhilashHello,
main difference are that SBS is limited to 75 users and not able to create a trust. Also it comes with additional software like Exchange and SQL depending on the license you use.
The regular server version do NOT contain any application or server as SBS. This must be bought separate. Also there is no user limit and tursts are allowed.

In Request type, what is the difference between action 'Change user' and 'Assign object'
Dear All,
I have used only 'Assign Object' for my 'Change User' request type. But the standard request type has 'Change user'. So, could you suggest , what additional purpose does Change Object serve
Regards
PlabanHI Plaban
not sure if you answered your own question here?
Change User - by itself would allow update of address data, user parameters, defaults, etc
Assign Object - as you mentioned roles and profiles.
However, if assigning, I think you need to have both actions: change and assign
I recall (ages ago) that change was only the user details and not the role or profiles. As a result, there were a few threads where people had to update the action for the request type of provisioning would not occur.
This is something you could test
