  • Difference between SAP Business Workflow and CRM Workflow

    Hello guys,
Is there any difference between SAP Business Workflow and CRM Workflow?
Are there others workflows types in SAP?
In all SAP Workflow Courses (BIT600, BIT601, BIT603, BIT610) only was talked about SAP Business Workflow, and nothing about CRM Workflow.
    Thanks a lot!
    Kleber

    Hello Kleber,
There is not much of the differance between CRM workflows and SAP Business  workflows..
Workflows are esentially part of Basis (BC) components and hence its the same across all SAP products as all these products have components of Basis(BC) in them...
To Conclude, SAP Busines workflows and CRM workflows are the same things... However when you work on CRM, the BOR objects would be belonging to CRM and not to ECC... However conceptwise , there in no change at all.. If you learn BIT100......, you can also work on CRM workflows..

  • Difference between SAP/APO/DP and the SAP/CRM solution for forecasting

    Hi,
Can you please help me identifying the main differences between SAP/APO/DP and the SAP/CRM solution for forecasting? Advantages and disadvantages?
    Thanks a lot

    Hi LCD777,
Forecasting at DP & CRM are altogether at different entities.  CRM involves webbased data transfer mechanism tool whereas DP is database/livecache driven tool.
In CRM, you dont get optimised solution of forecasting out of it whereas in DP you can get as much as
optimised solution & flexibility as per your requirements.
DP is majorly a forecasting tool where in huge statistical method functionalities are embedded in
whereas CRM is majorly a transactional tool wherein it involves gathering of forecast data and executing it.
Typically, CRM will be integrated with DP containing GATP environment & ECC so that DP will plan for forecast data, ECC system drives sales order data & GATP calls for availability check and finally
the forecast execution& transactions will be controlled by CRM

  • Can anyone explain the main differences between CRM 2007 and CRM 7?.

Can anyone explain the main differences between CRM 2007 and CRM 7?.
Does CRM 2007 use the WebUI?.
    Jason

My fault for not putting my question forward correctly.
I have worked with CRM 7 a few times now, but my experience has jumped me from CRM 5 straight to CRM 7, having never touched CRM 2007.
I now have an opening to work on CRM 2007 so I was intrigued to know what it physically looked like. I assume it does not use the WebUI interface?.

  • Difference between CRM and R/3

    can anyone clarify on these...
What is difference between CRM and R/3
Also about CRM sales order vs R/3 Sales order why we go crm in this case .

First, it is expedient to state that both SAP Business One and SAP R/3 are built on the concept of client/server architecture. So how do they differ? Let's first understand the relationship in a client server setup. A client server is a computer system design standard in which the client machines requests and gets back information from a distribution machine called the server.
SAP Business One as said earlier is based on client/server architecture, howbeit a "2 tier": strictly, clients and server. This technology is often referred to as a fat client. This is because all processing and business logic are carried out on the client.
SAP R/3 is based on a three tier client/server technology. Typically, it is made up of three functionally distinct layers namely: the user interface, business logic and database.
The user interface, which is otherwise known as the presentation server displays the interface for users' communication with the SAP system. It is often referred to as the SAP GUI. As a matter of fact, it is a program called sapgui.exe. The application server is where the business logic and data manipulation takes place. Data processing, SAP administration tasks and client request/feedback management are handled within the business layer. The database layer is synonymous to the database server and it typically acts as a data repository for tables and other database objects and structures.
Ideally, an R/3 system is composed of one database server, one or more application servers and one or more presentation servers. SAP Business One on the other hand is composed of a database server and one or more presentation servers.

  • Difference Between A Support User and Super User in CRM

    Hi All,
May I know what is the difference between a support user and a super user in CRM?
    Please advice, thank

    HI Plaban
not sure if you answered your own question here?
Change User - by itself would allow update of address data, user parameters, defaults, etc
Assign Object - as you mentioned roles and profiles.
However, if assigning, I think you need to have both actions: change and assign
I recall (ages ago) that change was only the user details and not the role or profiles. As a result, there were a few threads where people had to update the action for the request type of provisioning would not occur.
This is something you could test

  • Difference between R/3 pricing and CRM Pricing?

    Hi Gurus
What’s the Difference between R/3 pricing and CRM Pricing
    Thanks
    Mahi

    hi
differences are there in terms of
    Condition Processing
    Condition Technique
    Condition Maintenance
    Differences in Condition Processing
    1. The source condition record cannot be displayed in SAP CRM for technical reasons, when processing conditions in a transaction.
    2. Unlike SAP R/3, SAP CRM recognizes several pricing transactions. This enables you to compare pricing transactions. This can be useful after failed searches or price changes.
    3. The pricing type cannot be predefined when starting a new pricing transaction in SAP CRM.
    Differences in the Condition Technique
    1. Data determination at access level cannot be executed in SAP CRM.
    Differences in Condition Maintenance
    1. It is not possible in SAP CRM to display condition records for predefined selection data in condition lists.
    2. Mass copying of condition records is not possible in SAP CRM.
    3. Change documents are not available in SAP CRM.
    4. Archiving of pricing conditions is not possible in SAP CRM.
hope it will server ur purpose

  • Difference between CRM  5.0 and 4.0  version.

    Hello Experts,
Please let me know the exacat difference between CRM 5.0 version and 4.0 version.
    Please let me know.
    Thanks

    Hi Koti,
There are some significant differences between CRM 4.0 and CRM 5.0.
    1. IC Web : Locking and Handling of entities should be handled explicitly in CRM
4.0 where as the same is handled implicitly in CRM 5.0.
    2. In 4.0 most of the Std Classes can be inherited but in 5.0 most of the Std
Classes cannot be inherited as they are made as Final  Classes.
    3. CRM 5.0 and 5.1 so on.... versions have introduced CRM specific User Interface which is very flexible and simplified as you can jus drag and drop the objects for creation of custom application.
    Thanks

  • Main differences between R/3 CIC and CRM CIC ?

    Hi all,
does anybody now the main differences between R/3 CIC and the CRM CIC? or what are the main restricitions in the R/3 CIC.
    Thanks and regards,
    Norbert

    Hi Novert
The CRM 4.0 system has two "CIC's", they have a WinClient and WebClient.
Both offer multi-channel and real-time hardphone/softphone sync. The WinClient is more flexible and faster performance. The Webclient is lighter foot print and more the future of what SAP plans to offer.
The CIC in ECC is SAPphone based, which means that real-time hardphone/softphone sync is not possible. It's also telephony only through SAPphone. You have to use SAPconnect for e-mail, and there is NO webchat support. We have a number of customers that embed the Agent Dashboard into their CIC for R/3 to provide that extra functionality, but even without it CIC in R/3 is usable.
Many vendors provide SAPphone Connectors to different CTI's (computer telephony integrations). MCIS WinClient Connectors are only provided by AMC. Many vendors provide Connectors for the WebClient (which is based on ICI). The connectors from AMC support all the different "CIC's".
There are some other functional differences as well; like upport for ERMS and the types of transactions you can access, etc.
R/3 CIC is not getting developed or enhanced since 1999. Most of the new feature is developed in CRM CIC. If you do not care any of the new feature, you can use ECC CIC. You can find the feature list on Service Market Place.

  • Fundamental difference between CRM & SD

    Hi,
I am basically a technical guy in SAP. I would like to know the fundamental difference between CRM & SD or SCM & MM or for that matter PLM & PM/QM. Can anybody explain.
    Thanks.

    Hi Harikrishna
Sales & Distribution (SD) basically covers Sales (Enquiry  Quotation  Order) & Post Sales ( Delivery  Picking  Packing  Transportation  Invoicing.) processes
Where as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) covers pre-sales processes. e.g.
How / which are the different ways client is getting in touch with the customers. There may be scenarios where customers on their own contact company ( Field Sales) and company sales representatives contact customers (Customer Interaction Centers & Internet sales). You need to map such processes in system for generating u201Cleadsu201D
Next is what happens after the leads are generated. How these leads are filtered and further converted to opportunities. Whether any sales methodology is followed for tracking the opportunity.
Once the opportunity is matured, if order is created directly or first  enquiry and quotation is required before creating the order.
Similarly what processes are followed for marketing products. How and when marketing plan are created. If there are any marketing campaigns. How are the responses to the campaigns tracked. What types of offers they make to the customers. How do they create target group/segmentation for running these campaigns.
    Similarly for service.
Once you understand this, the process is mapped in CRM .i.e. you will configure the system which will track following
    Planning Campaigns  leads  opportunities  Activities  enquiries  quotations  order  order replicated to R/3  or SD etc.
Please let me know if this explanation answered your questions.
    Regards
    Dinesh

    DEAR EXPERTS
what is the difference between version 4.7EE and ECC 5.0?WHAT ARE THE ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONALTIES IN
    ECC 5.0?

    hi,
Diff between 4.7 and ECC 5.0:
    1. 4.7 is on R/3 platform, while ECC 5.0 is on mySAP ERP 2004
    2. ECC 5.0 is having ESA(enterprise Serviceoriented Architecture)
3.ECC 5.0 is web enabled with Netweaver technology.
mySAP ERP is the "newer" ERP with numbering conventions like ECC (which stands for ERP Central Component) 5 or 6
mySAP (aka mySAP.com) Business Suite contains Solutions like CRM, SCM etc. The important thing to note here is that this contains mySAP ERP, the one above
mySAP All-in-One Solution is designed for smaller companies (the ad that says SAP is not just for large companies but for great companies where the above mentioned functionality is scaled down and is made to run on one database on a PC type of setup as opposed to the full blown architectures on which SAP traditionally set to run
