    Virtual PortChannel Technology
Virtual PortChannels (vPCs) allow links that are physically connected to two different Cisco® switches to appear to a third downstream device to be coming from a single device and as part of a single PortChannel. The third device can be a switch, a server, or any other networking device that supports IEEE 802.3ad PortChannels.
Cisco NX-OS Software vPCs and Cisco Catalyst® Virtual Switching Systems (VSS) are similar technologies. For Cisco EtherChannel technology, the term “multichassis EtherChannel” (MCEC) refers to either technology interchangeably.
vPC allows the creation of Layer 2 PortChannels that span two switches. At the time of this writing, vPC is implemented on the Cisco Nexus® 7000 and 5000 Series platforms (with or without Cisco Nexus 2000 Series Fabric Extenders).

  • Risk on wrong definition of sales organization, distribution channel and division

    Hi,
our organization just started to implement SAP and SD module is one of the subject to complete.
We are in the defining phase of the above subject but I still can not understand the risk of being miss-defining the sales organization, distribution channel and division. Is it true will only impacting the pricing and reporting only? Are there going to be future impact on this?
Thank you before for your explanation.
    Andy

    Hi Andy,
    Good to see the suggestions!
These are the rules I try to follow:
Do not over do it. Simple is better and facilitates change.
One sales organization for each company code unless significant differences exist between independent sales departments. Like one wants to use CRM and others won't. It's roughly equivalent to one by each top level sales director.
One distribution channel for each sales channel group that defines different prices or different shipping conditions for the same material. Like retail and wholesale have different pricing. Special rules can apply like mail delivery require different correspondence settings.
One division for each division of the company. If company has no clearly defined divisions (like Aeronautics and Footwear) there is no need (in sales) to split (it might in financials).
Using sales office and sales group for reporting is a lot better than the top level structures because it's easy to change them in master data, unlike sales org or distribution channel. And when departments get reorganized the system effort is significantly reduced if no change occurs at those three top levels.
So I normally use the sales office to the first or second level of reporting and sales group in some cases to represent individual sales persons or nothing at all in other cases.
    regards,
    Edgar

  • What is difference between bus.Area and plant

    dear experts,
what is difference between bus.Area and plant?
    thanks
    Rajakarthik.

    Hi
Plant and Business Area are not the same.
Business Areas are configured in FI module as per the Product lines or geographical operations basis.
Where as The plants created in the logistics (General) module are assigned to the company code. That means all transactions taking place in the plants are posted to the attached company code in SAP FI.
You can post a business area to several company codes and use it for cross-company-code reporting.
The R/3 System uses a combination of plant and division to assign the relevant business area. When you use the R/3 System to automatically draw up accounts for business areas, you can assign only one business area to a combination of plant and division. Plants and divisions can be assigned and combined in several different ways.

  • What is the difference between Video-out and mirroring?

What is the difference between Video-out and mirroring? I can't get iPhone 4 video to work on my TV screen
I have just bought an MD098ZM/A (Apple 30-pin Digital AV Adapter). I am struggling to get it to show a picture on my TV. I know I'm doing something right because the audio is coming out of my TV speakers but no picture on the TV screen.
I have used the same HDMI channel (on the TV side) with the same cable and my thunderbolt port (MacBook Air) without any trouble - and on the same app (BBC iPlayer download then full-screen mode).
Now I note that the packaging for the MD098ZM/A says video-out on iPhone 4 but mirroring only on iPhone 4S. I only have an iPhone 4 (not the 4S). Now if the lack of iPhone 4 support for mirroring means that I can't play video material out to my TV, then in what sense is there any video-out capability at all?
There is only safety and warranty paperwork in the Apple adapter packaging - no help information. And I haven't found further guidance online either.
I do note somewhere online that it suggests that basic non-mirroring video-out (for this adapter) only works with some external TV sets. Any way of finding out which? I'm using a Sanyo CE32LD90-B LCD TV if it helps.
So far not doing very well.

Now found these but have had to give up on this adapter!

  • Difference between business service and business system in SLD

    hi all,
i m very new to XI. can anybody tell me that what is the basic difference between Business Service and Business Systems?
Is it necessary to use them? and if yes then when to use what?
    Thanx.
    Regards,
    Kunjal......

    Hi Kunjal,
In SAP XI every system in your landscape with which you are interfacing is defined as Service.
The service can be your Business service or Business system.
Generally SAP systems are referred to Business system and you define them in the SLD before you import them.
The Business service is a logical name referring to any system in your landscape.
To communicate with any third party application you need to create communication channels which are associated to your service.

  • Difference between  business area and profit center

    hi all
could you please tell me about difference between business area and
    profitcenter.
    thanks,
    regards,
    chennuri.

    HI
    Read below
Profit Center - The profit center view shows the various
internal areas of responsibilities. Objects such as cost
centers, materials, etc can be used for profit center
analysis. Profit center can be used to determine the
revenues, costs, and profitability for specfic areas of
    responsibility.
Business Area - Business area forms an important part of
external reporting. Analysis of various segments, product
divisions, regions etc is possible using business areas.
    Business Area: This is optional
This can be used cross compane codes
    This is for Internal Purpose
It is not Legal Entity like Co Code
The transation entered in Business are, Debit total will
    not tally with credit total
Since it is used for segment wise or area wise or line wise
this is used for internal report purpose only .
Balance Shhet and P & L stataments can be drawn on segment
    wise
Profit Centre: Generally in terms of SAP or Finance the
meaning of Profit centre is to know the profitabilty.
In same manner , The managers  wants to know the ROI from
their investments, obviously we nned to use the tool.
This ROI may be geographically or area wise or division
wise. P.C provided us profitablity of the particular area
for internal purpose ( Only for Internal )
Business Area is an optional entry.Whenever company wants
financial statements businessarea wise we can maintain
BAs.And also we can maintain BA as Segment Wise,Product
    Wise,Geographical Location wise.
Profit center is used to know the profits of companies.PC
is also used for to know the profits as aProduct
    wise,Segment wise,geographical location wise.If anything
wrong inthis answer plz correct me..
    Hope this helps
    Good Luck

  • Troubleshooting hints - differences between development environment and release environment

    Hello,
I am using LabVIEW 8.6 for an application involving stepper motors.  We are using 2 Velmex stepper motor systems to run PIR targets for a manufacturing test.  The problem I am having is that the program runs fine in the states where it was developed but hangs approximately every 10th run when running in the manufacturing environment in China.  Since I am on the EAst coast there is the 12 hour time delay, and I am planning on doing a live support call to find out what is going on.  The person who installed the code made some modifications, but I am not aware of the differences.  He also may send his code here and see how it runs.
The assumption I am making (based on past experiences from here in the States) is that the stepper motor interface is hanging.  since I can't recreate the problem here I can't troubleshoot it.
With a past prooject I was working I did some code on one machine, and when I ran it on a different machine the order of execution for items in a sequence was different between the machines.  Has anyone run into this before?  Unfortunately for the task at hand the stepper motor has to run at the same time that analog data on multiple channels are being acquired.
    Any suggestions?
    Mike
    Mike

Thanks for the reply.  I did think about putting in a producer-consumer.  It turns out that there was a problem with the computer it was being run on.  The computer was changed and the problem got better, although it did not go away.  The stepper motor was done through a com port talking to another hardware / software solution.  The tasks are truly independent and pass no data between them.  However, the other task being run involves collecting analog data and updating on a chart (and in one instance stimulating an analog output), and when the stepper motor starts the analog data collection is not updated on the chart.  I figure this could be because the charts are a memory hog.  No data is lost, and it is running, so I figure if it's not broke don't fix it.  It now occasionally locks up. I can run it here for 100 times with zero lock ups, and the last report I got was it ran 30 times in china before locking up.  I may have to start examining differences between their machine and my machine.
Now as to the configuration management.  It needs to be clarified a wee bit.  I'm doing the initial code development / updating, and then we hand off to china, which can make code tweaks as needed.  They also have 3 lines running this program, and one of the items I did was to load the differences between lines from configiration files (INI files), and that I got working well.  We have fixture variables, items that vary between lines, and configuration items, which are I/O lines and what not.  The digital I/O and analog I/O referenced MAX tasks, and that worked well.  There are also a com port call for the stepper motor, and in another program an RF power meter, which had to be referenced from an INI file.  I will reccomend that they do their code development on one machine and create executables to store on the production lines.  We have been bouncing code back and forth from the team members from the states that are currently in china doing the install.

  • What is difference between cross divison & normal division in sd

what is difference between cross divison & normal division in sd,....

generally used for sharing of condition record -division-00
in img we will maintain say for div 10 ref div 00
div 12 ref div is 00
that means we are maintaining condition record for 00 and these are also valid for div 10 and 12
    cross div - another concept.--
all sales doc (ex.sales order) are created with in one sales area , in case the material ordered by sold to party belongs to diff div of sales area , then how sysytem respond i.e it should accept that material or not.
if we set cross divvion in sales doc config then in sales order system accept material other than sales area div of order. i.e we can enter material belongs to diff div in order. for that we have activate item division in VOV8

  • What is the difference between, Configuration Components and Software Comp?

    Experts,
Can somebody tell me, What is the difference between, Configuration Components and Software Components?

    Hi,
    Configuration Objects:
You use configuration objects to help you to structure and organize your configuration data in the Integration Directory
You can group configuration objects by using configuration scenarios.
    The following configuration objects exist:
    1) Collaboration profile objects
        -Communication Party
       -Service
       -Communication Channel
    2)  Logical routing objects
      - Receiver determination
      - Interface determination
    3)  Collaboration agreement objects
       -   Sender Agreement
       -  Receiver Agreement

  • What is difference between sy-tabix and sy-index.

    SAP Seniors,
Can you please let me know what is difference between sy-index and sy-tabix.
I read the SAP help, it is confusing for me. it looks like both are same from help. please help me.
    Thank you
    Anitha.

    HI,
Here is a brief description of difference between SY_TABIX and SY_INDEX and using them with several conditions.
    SY-TABIX
Current line of an internal table. SY-TABIX is set by the statements below, but only for index tables. The field is either not set or is set to 0 for hashed tables.
APPEND sets SY-TABIX to the index of the last line of the table, that is, it contains the overall number of entries in the table.
COLLECT sets SY-TABIX to the index of the existing or inserted line in the table. If the table has the type HASHED TABLE, SY-TABIX is set to 0.
LOOP AT sets SY-TABIX to the index of the current line at the beginning of each loop lass. At the end of the loop, SY-TABIX is reset to the value that it had before entering the loop. It is set to 0 if the table has the type HASHED TABLE.
READ TABLE sets SY-TABIX to the index of the table line read. If you use a binary search, and the system does not find a line, SY-TABIX contains the total number of lines, or one more than the total number of lines. SY-INDEX is undefined if a linear search fails to return an entry.
SEARCH <itab> FOR sets SY-TABIX to the index of the table line in which the search string is found.
    SY-INDEX
In a DO or WHILE loop, SY-INDEX contains the number of loop passes including the current pass.
    Hope this helps.
    Thank you,
    Pavan.
