  • What is the difference between version 4.7EE and ECC 5.0

    DEAR EXPERTS
what is the difference between version 4.7EE and ECC 5.0?WHAT ARE THE ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONALTIES IN
    ECC 5.0?

    hi,
Diff between 4.7 and ECC 5.0:
    1. 4.7 is on R/3 platform, while ECC 5.0 is on mySAP ERP 2004
    2. ECC 5.0 is having ESA(enterprise Serviceoriented Architecture)
3.ECC 5.0 is web enabled with Netweaver technology.
mySAP ERP is the "newer" ERP with numbering conventions like ECC (which stands for ERP Central Component) 5 or 6
mySAP (aka mySAP.com) Business Suite contains Solutions like CRM, SCM etc. The important thing to note here is that this contains mySAP ERP, the one above
mySAP All-in-One Solution is designed for smaller companies (the ad that says SAP is not just for large companies but for great companies where the above mentioned functionality is scaled down and is made to run on one database on a PC type of setup as opposed to the full blown architectures on which SAP traditionally set to run

  • From ABAP view, what is the difference between version 4.7 and ECC 6.0 ?

    Hi,
I am a ABAP developer. I want to know the difference between version 4.7 and ECC 6.0 from a programmer
    perspective.
I also want to know  what is obsoleted and what is enhanced.
    Thanks.
    Best Regards,
    Chris Gu

I'm not sure if any of this is in your 4.7 version, but I know it wasn't available in our 4.6C before we upgraded and we have found the following extremely helpful in ECC 6.0:
    1.  The new ABAP Debugger - Search SDN and you'll probably find a bunch of info on these enhancements
    2.  The Enhancement Framework - this is a great new framework allowing enhancements to standard SAP programs without having to use "core Mods".  Had we known about it prior to our upgrade, we could have probably eliminated 75% or so of our custom Z Programs which are copies of standard SAP code  and 100% of our core mods (of which we only have a handful)
    3. Code Inspector and more importantly the ability to turn it on to automatically run when releasing a transport.
    4. The ABAP workbench has changed a bit with a new editor including some minimal code completion.
    5.  Automatic generation of services from any remote enabled function module.
These are just a few of the things that I've found helpful in an upgraded environment.

  • Difference between HR in R3 and ECC.

    Hi,
What is the basic difference difference between SAP HR R/3 and HCM on ECC 6.0?
Points will be awarded for useful answers.
    Thanks,
    Sandeep.

    Hi,
The basic difference would be functional enhancement.
And frankly you would have observed that change of HR role in organization, Now a days HR have moved from support role to strategic role.
Following points could be considered while discussing on HR....
HR moving from administrative function to strategic business partner,
From an HR support role to human capital management (HCM),
    Increasing automation and integration,
    Need for increased HR analysis,
    Employee self-service (ESS)
In one of Survey of HR professionals around world identified 5 main areas of competency that determine how much value they add to a firm 4 of which can be facilitated through a fully integrated and utilised HRIS.
    1.  Strategic contribution
    2.  Personal credibility
    3.  HR delivery
    4.  Business knowledge
    5.  Use of technology
Strategic contribution in managing the culture, facilitating “fast change”, strategic decision-making, and creating an organisation continually linked to the realities of the competitive marketplace.
Personal credibility with HR counterparts, line managers and others within the business as well as external contacts
HR delivery covering the traditional and operational activities of staffing, development, organisation structure and performance management.
Business knowledge including an understanding of the business and industry of the company being served.
Use of technology including the ability to promote technology for HR practices and delivering value to customers.
*This leads into the changing face of HR and, in fact, changing name to Human Capital Management (HCM) – as SAP now calls their HR module.*
You may explore the below mention link to explore the functional enhancement of diff. versions.

  • Is there a difference between ERP 6.0 and ECC 6.0?

    Hi everyone!
My question may sound "dumb" for some but I'm really in doubt by now - regarding the installation of EHP4 on my system.
I recently upgraded my Solution Manager to EHP1 in way to make it ready for EHP4 installation process but now I'm not sure which procedure I have to follow regarding EHP4 for ERP/ECC.
I have found lots of notes and documents concerning the installation/upgrade of EHP4 for ERP 6.0 system but almost nothing for ECC 6.0. Part of those mention that ERP 6.0 is part of an ECC system - at least is that what I think I'm getting of it.
Are ERP 6.0 and ECC 6.0 systems the same thing?
In SMSY my system is registered as ECC 6.0 but all its software components are identical to an ERP 6.0 system - so it gets me "confused".
Has anyone gone through the same situation?
Thanks in advance for any help or tip.
    Kind Regards,
    Paulo
FYI: I'm running only an ABAP stack.

Based on your situation, you should use the ERP 6.0 definition.
This will avert any issues when you begin to use Maintenance Optimizer to define and select your stack.
If you look closely at the document for Enhancement Pack 4 (I understand you are not there yet). But just an FYI,  there is an entire section that explicitly says:
System is registered as SAP ECC 6.0, not as SAP ERP 6.0
Issue: You do not get the option Enhancement Package Installation in SAP Solution Manager Maintenance Optimizer.
Reason: Your system is not registered as u201CSAP ERP 6.0u201D in SMSY.
Solution: As mentioned earlier in this document, the required product version is u201CSAP ERP 6.0u201D. The selection item Enhancement Packages appears in the Maintenance Optimizer only if you registered this product version
    Hope this helps.

  • Any real difference between a 1.83 and 2.0 MacBook Pro?

    Hi all,
I have recently bought a MacBook Pro 1.83 GHz model. It was on sale at my local computer store and I thought it was a good find, as it was brand new and was selling for £1099, a £300 saving on the 2.0 GHz model. Before I start using it, I just wanted to know if anyone knew if there was a real performance difference between the two and should I have paid the extra £300 to get the 2.0 GHz machine?
I only ask this, as I know that over time Apple sometimes tweak the machine to improve it and (after talking with someone at Apple), I've been told that there have been 5 or 6 changes to the inner workings (or revisions as they called them), and I wondered if this changed the performance or if it was just minor improvements regarding heat and noise and so on.
To finish, does anyone have any speculation as if this is a good time to buy a MacBook Pro with the introduction of the Core 2 Duo chips in the new iMacs?
    Many thanks.
    MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   1.83GHz Core Duo / 512MB / 80GB

So what you are saying is that the 170 MHZ difference between the 1.83 and the 2.0 is noticeable, but the 160 MHZ difference between the 2.0 and the 2.16 is not?
I thought we were passed the marketing gimmicks and the clock speed race, but I guess not.
Clock speed doesn't tell you anything about the performance of a CPU. Intel almost ran themselves into the ground by trying to pump up their clock speeds and feeding that tripe to the masses. AMD focused on a solid architecture that created a robust chip. As a result AMD took the lead in performance and stability.
Intel's greatest achievement to date has been the PIII Coppermine. So good was this architecture that they have gone back to it. The Centrinos are based off the Coppermines as are the dual cores.
The point of the story is that clock speed means nothing. Save your cash and put it to better use by getting a 7200 rpm drive or more RAM.

  • Difference between AD domain user and local user

Hello, I think the title is self explanatory. I am trying to figure out difference between AD domain user and local user. SAP Help wasnt very helpful.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
It's about where the user accounts are kept. Domain users are users that are entered into the domain users group on a domain controller. These domain users can be centrally managed at the server. Whereas the local users are the users created in the local system.
In BPC, you can select users from either of them or in combination as well. However, If you want to make change in the local user credentials, you need to login to the system in which the user has been created and make the changes there. On the other hand, changes to domain users can be made from any domain connected machine with the right software and the necessary rights. The changes only need to be made once.
    Hope this helps.

  • Difference between Process integration scenario and configuration scenario.

    Hi,
Please tell me what is difference between Process integration scenarion and configuration scenarion in SAP PI.
Is Process integration scenario is BPM concept? also what is the advantages over configuration scenario.
    Regards,
    Manigandan

    Hi Manigandan,
    Speaking widely:
Process integration scenario: there is a ccBPM, like the workflow in ABAP, even when you one inside the PI it's generated a workflow in the ABAP stuck
Configuration scenario: it is object to link the integration directory and the esr/IR when  you define the logic of your implementation. It isnt mandatory, but you can organize better you develoments if you make an scenario for a "real scenario" like a file to soap integration, you can define it like a configuration scenario.
    Regards.

  • Any rendering differences between Safari 1.3 and 2.0?

Can anyone point me to information about what differences, if any, exist between Safari 1.3 and 2.0? I am only interested in differences in rendering (HTML/CSS/JavaScript, i.e. WebKit), not in things like RSS feed support.
To put it another way, do Safari 1.3.1 and 2.0.1 have the same version of WebKit?
I do not have Panther installed on any of my Macs, so I cannot easily investigate this.
    Any assistance is appreciated.

So what you are saying is that the 170 MHZ difference between the 1.83 and the 2.0 is noticeable, but the 160 MHZ difference between the 2.0 and the 2.16 is not?
